There is no room for complacency when striving for something worthwhile. Find a better way to do your thing. There IS a better way, believe it or not

Keep refining your strategy and goals. Keep perfecting your technique. Analyze every action and determine if you can make anything quicker, more efficient or cost effective. Think over how you can maximize your output and achieve greater results with what you already have

Doing something even 1% better each week is an admirable achievement. It compounds over time to give you a sizeable edge

No matter how well you do or have done something, there’s still a better way to do it. And there always will be. Look for it, and never stop looking for it, even when you find it

There is ALWAYS room to make something better, and there always will be. And just when you think you can't - remember - you can!

Pain is (eventual) gain

Many of the qualities that make people great have great pains which come along with it. Always

With 26,075 published works over his lifetime, Picasso averaged 1 new piece of artwork every day of his life from age 20 until his death at age 91. He created something new, every day, for 71 years

Picasso’s singular focus on art meant that everything else in life had to take a back seat, including his relationships and his children. His romantic life was a revolving door of affairs and infidelity, having over 8 relationships

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considered to be one of the greatest boxers of all-time. He also has serious anger management issues. In the space of 7 years, he was charged with 2 counts of domestic violence and 4 counts of misdemeanor battery - not to mention the reported charges that were later dropped

Success is complicated. We love to praise people for becoming famous, for winning championships, and for making tons of money, but we rarely discuss the costs of success

People often talk about the success they aspire to in life, but he most important question is not, “What kind of success do I want?”, but rather, “What kind of pain am I ready to take?” And it's a tough one to answer

Do you want to shadow that comes with success? Do you want the baggage that comes with the bounty? What kind of pain are you willing to bear in the name of achieving what you want to achieve? Answering this question honestly often leads to more insight about what you really care about than thinking of your dreams and aspirations

Do you want to spend two extra hours at work each day rather than with your kids? Do you want to put your career ahead of your marriage? Do you want to wake up early and go to the gym when you feel like sleeping in? Stop & think

The things that make people great in one area often make them miserable in others

Ask yourself: how much pain am I willing to tolerate in order to achieve the success I want?

Knowing what you were put on this earth to do, at a young age is difficult. We think if we wait long enough we will eventually find our passion, our true calling, our 'why' - but it rarely happens like that
.
The best & quickest way to self-awareness and career fulfillment is through trial and error - experimenting and failing. Constantly trying new things, working different jobs and exposing yourself to different environments will lead to an eventual realization of where you thrive and breed ultimate satisfaction
.
See, passion is not something to be 'found', rather created. It can be cultivated, nurtured and developed in any area. Sitting around thinking about what you like and what you don't like won't really lead to anything as productive as taking action and reflecting on your experience
.
Your brain is more malleable than you think. Remove the limiting labels you have attributed to yourself and physically work your way to clarity!

"Long term consistency beats short term intensity" -Bruce Lee

We don't really know why this is the case, but it proves true in every area of life

Going to the gym for an hour, 5 times a week is better than going to the gym once a week for 5 hours

Seeing people every day for a short while builds stronger rapport than seeing them once a month but spending hours with them

Sales calls, social media, reading, writing and other activities follow the same pattern. Being consistent with anything over a long period of time is greater than short bursts of enthusiasm

Don't be discouraged by small, slow steps. They are the building blocks to something BIG which will be revealed when enough pieces have been put together

Daily progress - a river breaks the rock not from its short term intensity but from its long term persistence!

It's known as the domino effect

A study from Northwestern University found when people decreased sedentary leisure time, they also reduced daily fat intake. The participants were never told to eat less fat, but their nutrition habits improved as a natural side effect because they spent less time on the couch watching TV and mindlessly eating

One habit led to another, one domino knocked down the next

You may notice similar patterns in your own life. Going to the gym naturally leads you to eating healthier foods and sleeping better

You can never change just ONE behavior. Our behaviors are interconnected, so when you change one behavior, other behaviors also shift

Many of the habits and routines that make up our daily lives are related to one another. There is an interconnectedness between them. The inherent relatedness of things is a core reason why choices in one area of life can lead to surprising results in other areas, regardless of the plans you make
.
It is within your power to spark a chain reaction of good habits by building new behaviors that naturally lead to the next successful action

Embrace the domino effect

Start with a small behavior and do it consistently. This will not only feel satisfying but also open your eyes to the type of person you can become. It does not matter which domino falls first, as long as one falls!

.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself: WHY do we stay motivated to reach some goals, but not others? WHY do we say we want something, but give up on it after a few days? WHAT is the difference between the areas where we naturally stay motivated and those where we give up?
.
Scientists have been studying motivation for decades. While there is still much to learn, one of the most consistent findings is that perhaps the best way to stay motivated is to work on tasks of "just manageable" difficulty
.
Human beings love challenges, but only if they are within the OPTIMAL zone of difficulty
.
Tasks that are significantly *below* your current abilities are boring. Tasks that are significantly *beyond* your current abilities are discouraging. But tasks that are right on the border of success and failure are incredibly motivating to our human brains. We want nothing more than to master a skill just beyond our current horizon
.
This is known as the Goldilocks Rule. The Goldilocks Rule states that humans experience peak motivation when working on tasks that are right on the edge of their current abilities. Not too hard. Not too easy. Just right
.
Work on challenges at the right degree of difficulty and adjust accordingly
.
Wanting to improve your life is easy - sticking with it is a different story. If you want to stay motivated for good, then start with a challenge that is just MANAGEABLE, measure your progress, and repeat the process

The lifelessness of an empty gym full of tools to sculpt myself into a living breathing peace of art. .
The hours I would spend, only wishing I never had to leave. Such a seemingly unforgiving cold blanket that kept me warm, unknowing that over time would be woven into a cloak. It is a craft within my own hands to fully master.

I want to show others that from ones own personal hell much beauty and positivity could stem. My cloak, my home away from home, my first true love.

Heres to the cold steel.

.
You'd be surprised!
.
Foam rolling is a form of therapy that uses slow and sometimes deep pressure to stretch and elongate the fascia and thereby release stuck and tight tissues
.
Research shows that, when used properly, foam rolling (myofascial release) can reduce pain, tension, and fatigue, and improve blood and lymphatic flow, flexibility, and mobility
.
How, you might ask?
.
Finding and releasing trigger points. Trigger points are tight spots in muscles that, when pressed on, produce pain that "refers" to other areas in the body (can be felt in areas other than where you're applying pressure). By holding pressure on these trigger points, your body will gradually relax the areas, causing the pain to fade. This is known as releasing trigger points
.
And what types of benefits can you expect from regular foam rolling:
.
13 scientific studies confirm foam rolling
- Reduces arterial stiffness
- Improves vascular endothelial function
- Reduces post-exercise fatigue
- Attenuates muscle soreness
- Improves vertical jump height, muscle activation and passive & dynamic range of motion
- Enhances knee joint range of motion
- Enhances pre and post exercise muscle performance
- Reduced delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
- Improves maximal voluntary contraction force
- Improves power, agility, strength and speed
- Improves hip extension
- Increases overall range of motion
- Increases hip-flexion range of motion - Increases hamstring flexibility
- Improves range of motion and soreness/fatigue following exercise
- Increases lower extremity range of motion of athletes
Furthermore, due to the fact that foam rolling doesn't seem to impair performance, you can roll before a workout to prime your body for the training
.
So, how do you roll?
