I can't believe it's been six years since her death! I remember it like it was yesterday. Though she is no longer on Earth, her legacy still lives on. She was truly an amazing woman and looked up to by so many! Some people think of her as "the Queen of diamonds" or "the woman who married Richard Burton twice" and even "the woman who married so many times". Well, I've got a statement for all you people who think that. Yes, all those are true, but she gave so much to this world and embraced her talent. She started charities to cure AIDS/HIV and so much more. Look beyond the stereotype and look at what she has done to help others besides herself. Elizabeth's work continues to make a difference for so many people. I'm honored to call her my idol. We love you Elizabeth!💜

True beauty from the inside out. She had a kind, generous, and loving heart. Having suffered so much loss in her life… Somehow she managed to crawl on by her fingernails and still maintain s measure of happiness and vivacity.
Being beaten and cheated on by her first husband, Losing another husband to a plane crash, befriending homosexual men struggling with their identities… Never judging them, unconditionally loving them and encouraging them to be who they were (James Dean and Montgomery Clift especially). Dean died in an accident, as well as Monty from an overdose. Elizabeth was devastated.
Falling into the most passionate and tumultuous romance of her life (Richard Burton), which ended after a decade of drinking and drug abuse. Their love never waned, the connection was just too mutually self destructive for either of them to survive.
Having to move on without the love of her life, struggling with addiction, depression, repeated physical injury and illness… Losing a close friend to AIDS, which inspired her to take important action. She is known for her charity work on his behalf, she and Princess Diana made it a personal mission to show that the disease was not contagious through touch, that you can’t get it from hugging someone.
She had so much love in her heart, and she just kept giving it until the day she died. Richard Burton died long before her, and she wore his ring for the rest of her life (even though they were no longer married). When she passed away, it was requested in her will that her ashes be scattered over Wales, the place of his birth. That is precisely what they did.
