Some refer to it as the "only perfectly complete food", as it contains all of the essential amino acids human needs. Let's not forget about lipids, vitamins, minerals, sterols, flavonoids and other nutrients.

Spending £7-£10 for a box/bag of grain-free granola it's way too much so I decided to make my own. Making your own granola means that it has less sugar and processed additives. Activating nuts and seeds simply means soaking them and dehydrating. Activating nuts helps to increase the digestibility of nuts and seeds by removing the gut irritants and enzyme inhibitors occuring in nuts and seeds. Here how you do it.
1 cup of each seeds and nuts (I used sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and almond). Put them all into a bowl and cover in water. Soak overnight. After that dispose of the water and dry them off with paper towel. Heat oven to the lowest temperature 50C/120F. Coat them all in coconut oil and mixed remaining ingredients. Evenly distribute on baking sheet and place in oven for dehydrating time between 4hrs to 12hrs. If you have a dehydrator use that. Store in glass container. Enjoy with yoghurt or other alternatives such as key lime pie (check for my previous post). 😋
