I got some super exciting news yesterday that I’ll be sure to share with you soon & I’m SO READY to get back on track with my nutrition, fitness and stoked for those of you who reached out about my September Challenge. If you missed it, you’ll get to choose your workout days {4-6 days a week}, the length of your workouts {25-35 minutes} & you’ll be following the same plan that gave me my best results to date and be doing exactly what i do every time i need to reboot my fitness & health. .

You’ll also get to pick between my macros meal plan, paleo/grain free, portions based, vegan, or pescatarian meal plan {but you’ll have access to all of them}, or you can choose to follow my wholistic nutrition course where you learn SO MUCH MORE about food. It’s crazy to even think that way. 5 years ago i was teaching yoga full time struggling to keep a rented roof over my head & another 5 years before that i got divorced and was completely bankrupted. Time, focus, inspired massive action & commitment to your dreams changes everything.

I’ve always known i was destined for more and would have the things i wanted in life: true love, abundant travel, a safe and sexy car, & the ability to shop without making huge sacrifices. May sound vain but whatever, we all have our own desires & this is my life and I’ll live it my way.

Cruising around in my brother’s porsche today just fires me up. His always achieving more than me keeps me hungry. We didn’t come from wealth, but our parents did teach us a hard work ethic. They brought us up the best they could with what they had which was more than many and also less than many. We each created our own wealth, and I’m proud AF that i built mine from the ground up⛰. .

My best memories, best girlfriends, & most adventurous travels have been created through coaching & my team.
These past few days we’ve laughed, cried, wined, dined, cracked our hearts open, & raced each other down a mountain going 65 mph on a zipline.

What i respect most about these women is that they’ve all taken the road less traveled to get here. None of us ‘had it easy’, & each decided to choose a different outcome when life knocked us down. We’ve all risen from our own rubble, chose to do the the hard things, & made it a non negotiable to create real change in our lives. .

We’ve certainly eaten healthy meals like this one {SWIPE RIGHT}, but we’ve also been fists deep in guac🥑🏼, wine & gluten free crackers. I used to think those ... Ready for a reboot🙋🏼‍♀️?!? I used to think those things were mostly ‘healthy’ in moderation, but moderation {or a lack of understanding what moderation & macros REALLY meant} was exactly why i was STUCK for so long. .

I’m so excited for you ladies already enrolled in our September Challenge and ready to commit 21 days to your health & fitness. We have hands down the best accountability group, you learn SO MUCH about nutrition, & when i think back to my first challenge that pulled me into paying it forward & helping others start with me, I was so blown away that i could get results so fast from short workouts. Yet now i GET IT and understand what works, what doesn’t and why. I can’t wait to teach you how to eat abundantly, enjoy all that you love {in moderation ☝🏻}, workout for 25-30 min 4-6 days a week and see incredible results. .

Here’s a funny story. When Jaclyn and i first met she thought i didn’t like her. We used to teach yoga classes at the same studio at 6am, and let’s just say as much as I’m a ‘morning person’ there is a period in the early hours of the day where i don’t much want to talk, or be talked to 🤣🤣🤣. Add to that there was a day her sub didn’t show up and it meant i had to stay 2 hours longer than normal and teach her class after i taught mine, on top of teaching another 3 classes later that afternoon {insert Hangry, irritated 7am me}. She likes to remind me that i called her with a very direct tone to ‘let her know’ her sub didn’t show 🤣🤣🤣. .

It’s funny to me cuz she’s one of my best friends now...and we’re our own bosses now. Her children mean the world to me, & we’ve been business partners for the last 5 years. All because she put her fears aside, reached out, and decided to chase her dreams with me. Here it is 5 years later and we’ve watched our dream grow into this amazing team. While you see 10 women on this trip it’s just the tip of the iceberg of the amazing leaders on the team we get to collaborate with. .

I’m endlessly excited to see who will join the team next & run with us. There are only 2 women on this trip that i knew IRL before they got started. Most of the women i run with i met either on social or through others & now my best memories are with these women on our team trips. It’s crazy to think about who may be following our adventures this week & be joining us on our next big adventure. I know when i started my biggest motivation was freedom & travel, so i wouldn’t be surprised if yours is too 😜. Our next leader trip is October in Vegas💃🏼, then January in Mexico☀️, then Feb in LA🏖, then April in Bahamas🌴...... wonder which one you’ll be on💭?!?

My favorite green juices are the ones sans sweetness that i press at home or pick up at great shops like Vive who packages in recyclable / reusable glass bottles 🙌🏻. I’ve been pressing at home for over a decade with my Omega 8005 masticating juicer and always say the Omega company should pay me for all the juicers I’ve sold for them on my recommendations 😜. .

I had only starting coaching a year before & had this huge vision for what i wanted my coaching business and ... On this day just 4 years back i was deep in the woods on my first ever earned Coach Leadership Trip. I had only starting coaching a year before & had this huge vision for what i wanted my coaching business and my team, Team Sol Warriors, to become. At the time it seemed lofty, but i've never been one to not believe in miracles, and i figured if others had done 'it', then why can't i?

Here it is 4 years from that trip, and I'm days away from co-hosting my 2nd one -- for 10 of my Team Sol Warriors top advancing leaders -- the very team that back then was just a glimmer in my eye and a pie in the sky dream. Our team is now made up of MANY teams Including 7 or 8 Elite teams within my team, which is just BAHNANAS to me....(ELITE is the top 200 out of hundreds of thousands of coaches and teams). .

I chatted with a friend tonight who‘s going through tough stuff, and I just wanted to share my heart in case you're in that boat too -- Giving up is the easy way. Trust me, that my business didn't build on taking the easy route. There were MANY times I almost threw in the towel, but then I'd always remember that if I stopped working on my passions what I would be going back to... and that was no longer acceptable to me. I deserved better.

Now I can't imagine ever working 'for' someone else -- not after being my own boss for so long. I work hard, but I also play hard, relax hard, travel hard, shop hard, dine hard, & spoil myself and my coaches hard.

If you're feeling the weight of life's burdens today or maybe you're feeling the weight of a relationship, a new business venture, a pie in the sky dream that is taking 'too long', just remember, everything is temporary and the only constant in life is change, BUT change happens more swiftly when it's back by GRIT and inspired action. .

Have you ever considered that each time you go through the grocery checkout that you’re actually VOTING?!? With each barcode that gets scanned you’re telling that grocer or corporation WHAT to order more of {and therefore less of}. So when you buy conventional over organic, or highly refined ... Have you ever considered that each time you go through the grocery checkout that you’re actually VOTING?!? With each barcode that gets scanned you’re telling that grocer or corporation WHAT to order more of {and therefore less of}. So when you buy conventional over organic, or highly refined boxes of food over those natural items with less ingredients, you’re essentially creating consumer demand and voting on or against companies like Monsanto who are perpetuating a lot of the GMO products or poor agricultural / farming methods, & inhumane agricultural animal-welfare. .

Ironically what got me thinking of this ‘voting’ philosophy is that over the past week i stopped sharing photos of radiant plant food and your ‘likes’ {aka votes} went down by a huge percentage on my instagram. While clearly, that’s not making or breaking my day it DID get me thinking: what is it that i share that you LIKE & want to see more of?!? Because just as ‘liking’ or scanning a bar-code is casting a vote, so is the lack there-of.

Everything you do OR ‘do not do’ creates an impact. Some things you will see right away, others will not be noticeable without some time, but EVERY CHOICE — good, bad, or what feels like it’s making no difference either way, IS somehow, somewhere, compounding & effecting your outcomes in life. So i wonder, what choices will you make today to ensure that the compounded effect of them will ultimately take you two steps closer to your goal and not two step back?!? .

I love this photo of us because it was the first international trip we all went on together and that day we were out on a boat we’d chartered for the team & their husbands and guests. As a new entrepreneur of a brick & mortar {which is a huge undertaking}, Moira was pouring everything into her business and her own health, marriage & family time was suffering. They’d taken a double mortgage on their home to invest in her juice press biz and the family had more or less lost ‘mom’ for a while while she helmed the ‘juice ship’.

She was a client in my bootcamp for over a year and I’ll be honest, she struggled to stay accountable. Life as a brick & mortar business owner was STRESSFUL & left her no free time to make herself a priority. I encouraged her month after month to join the team as a Coach if for nothing more than heightened accountability. When she finally did, she enrolled for herself, to make her health a non negotiable and not really for the business. Within 30 days a couple of girlfriends joined her, they all had amazing success & fun staying accountable to our challenge together & it launched her online career. .

If you follow my instagram stories regularly you know i hadn’t been eating junk food when i started my cleanse, hadn’t been drinking alcohol, and really for the most part I’d say i was already on track with sound nutrition, BUT the reality is i had gotten a little comfy with some foods that i don’t digest well & i always tell my friends the old saying is WRONG: It shouldn’t be👉🏼‘You are what you eat’, but rather it should be👉🏼’You are what you can’t digest’😳🤯. THAT’s what leaves you in a state of inflammation, pain, malaise or dis-ease.

10 days ago I set out with a group of 21 women on a 2 week Rejuvenation Reset and we just completed our ‘deeper healing’ weekend with a 3 day plant food cleanse. I l’ve been far more strict on cleanses before, but still over the past 3 days i followed my cleanse protocol, used plant food as medicine & enjoyed recipes from my plant based ebook. .

I took the first set of photos this Thursday morning and the second set this morning {Monday}. It was just 3 days, super simple, i was never hungry, and it helped me de-bloat, lean out & get back on track with my best habits.

Courtney is the owner of CB SUP / stand up paddle, a former cross fit level two coach, former bartender & all around Bad-A ‘braaping’ {aka motorcycle riding} chic. By complete chance, a few days after we connected on social about her joining the team i noticed she was camping out here in San Diego and that she was literally less than 5 miles from me. We met up & it was ‘love at first hang out’ 🤣🤣🤣, but she had some resistance 🤚🏻 at first about joining the team & what coaching with us meant.

How do you go from teaching CrossFit to helping people with fitness AND NUTRITION online? And to be more specific — did we have meal plans & could our ‘online workout programs’ even hold a candle to the type of training she was accustomed to?

Within 3 days of starting my challenge & joining my online fitness bootcamp she was ‘all in’. She became a coach, started helping others, got the nutritional support, meal plans, and education that was lacking from her cross fit training, and she’s now in insane shape from following our programs & nutrition. More than that, she hasn’t had to go back to bartending or teaching classes. Rather her online coaching business has built to incredible success in just the past 1.5 years and it helps fund her & her husband’s adventures & SUP business. .

The older i get and more in touch with myself i get, the more i realize what sensitive & delicate creatures we are...and how nature, the moon, the seasons, the weather, & of course the food effects us. I suppose i never realized it ... The full moon definitely has me feeling all ‘the feels’ today. The older i get and more in touch with myself i get, the more i realize what sensitive & delicate creatures we are...and how nature, the moon, the seasons, the weather, & of course the food effects us. I suppose i never realized it much before because I’ve always had ‘thick skin’, grew up dealing with {and working for} ‘tough personalities’, & though I’m super compassionate and sensitive, i can also block my emotions, push my feelings aside & sometimes come across as cold, or maybe the better word is disinterested. .

I read that the majority of women ovulate with the full moon {known as white moon flow where you menstruate at the new moon}, whereas a smaller amount of us menstruate at full moon {known as red moon flow}. Those with a red moon flow tend be he healers and medicine women. I find it no coincidence that I’m a red moon flow girl. I usually have my PMS {swollen tender breast, spotting, bloating, 4 days before the full moon with a start always right on or a day away from the full moon}. It’s like clockwork now to be on this cycle, tho i have had things throw it off like pushing my intermittent fasting window too much {when i was practicing that} or doing detox / cleanses {generally more intensive then I’m doing now}.

Today i’m taking refuge on my yoga mat & feel immensely tired & uninspired, where just a day back i felt completely rejuvenated and energetic. It’s wild the roller coaster our bodies can experience, especially those of us deeply connected to ourselves and nature. If you practice astrology I’d love to hear a bit about this moon and any insight on WHY i feel such heaviness & feelings today. Side note, I’m a total Gemini and i often think my ‘twins’ have ‘twins’ so maybe that too has something to do with it🤷🏼‍♀️😂.

This was my first try at making a pitaya bowl & it came out pretty good, but i need a couple more ‘goes’ at the base before I’m ready to share the recipe. I like to keep things super low sugar & a packet of pitaya already has 8 grams of sugar just from the fruit {nothing added} so with the addition of any berries or blend-ins the sugar can stack up quick. .

I’ll share the rest of my ‘Rejuvenation’ meals in stories today. I just made dinner in under 5 minutes with all i prepped Thursday & i still have plenty of food to get me through tomorrow! .

I lived on a meek yoga teacher salary, driving to multiple studios a day, with a plethora of inconsistent ‘side hustles’ & i was exhausted. .

Almost 5 years ago i moved my platform online. I put my skepticism aside, connected with a coach & enrolled in her program to break my routine, learn something new & commit to a challenge to better myself. I needed accountability, positive influences, & wanted to make personal changes with people who wouldn’t judge me & didn’t know me. I liked the anonymity of it being like starting at a new school.

I certainly had every intention of building an online wellness/nutrition focused business, but i had no idea this would be my path or that it would be more than another side hustle of mine. I had no idea it would pave the way for immeasurable personal & business growth, incredible friendships, collaborations, or allow me to follow my passions with health the way I have been able to. .

People often see ME now and forget that my journey didn’t unfold overnight & that I’m still seeking new levels of growth for me & my team. Just like the tiny seed knows that in order to grow it needs to be dropped in dirt, covered with darkness, and endure much struggle to reach the light, so do we. I’m currently in a growth phase. I know because it’s exciting, but also feels a lot like I’m germinating in wet heavy soil 🤣. .

So far it’s proven to take up a lot of space {annoying since my kitchen is about the size of a dollhouse}, wastes a good amount of produce {which i also can’t stand}, and though it produces great golden beet noodles & zucchini Zoodles, everything else I’ve tried this far has been a fail 🙄. .

I’ve only given it two runs so I’ll keep trying and share as i go. It’s listed at $200 on amazon so i imagine it’s quite efficient, but I’ve yet to figure it out completely. If you know anyone who’s PRO at veggie bullet spiralizing and turns everything into spiralized noodles, please put me in touch. I want so badly to fall in love with it. Right now I’d recommend my $8 julienne peeler instead. It was a far better investment🤭.

Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga & the oldest system of medicine still practiced in the world today and actually where Chinese medicine got its roots from. Ayurveda teaches us that we are an extension of nature & nature is an extension of us, and works to heal the body through diet, herbs & lifestyle practices. It’s the underlying current in my personal practice and where i fundamentally come from when making dietary suggestions and recommendations to my clients.

I’ve been working with the basic elements of Ayurveda for close to a decade now, have studied with a teacher who learned directly from Vasant Lad himself, but recently I’ve been called to deepen my understanding of this incredible ancient wisdom and medicinal system. Call it my ever curious Vata or my passionate Pitta but today i made an investment for a 300 hour study w/ Dr David Frawley.

As i further my education I’ll continue to share and offer best practices, but for now i leave you with these 3 simple tips {the same 3 I’m reintroducing as well} to help ground you, offer you a self-care ritual & bring you back to a feeling of balance & energy.

1️⃣ start and/or end each day w/ a 5 minute meditation OR a visualization practice & journaling routine. At the end of each day make a list of your most important to-dos so you know WHAT to tackle before the day overwhelms you AND add in there ONE THING you promise to do for yourself. Treat that as one of your top priorities.

2️⃣ practice daily dry skin brushing & self oil massage {use coconut oil to cool your pitta or sesame oil if you’re very Vata & tend to be cold & dry even in the summer months}
.
3️⃣ enjoy more seasonal & COOLING foods {especially important for those feeling agitated lately}. Examples are cucumber, cilantro, yogurt/sour cream, & aloe. Buy fresh aloe {use inner gel}, coconut & cilantro to blend into your smoothies & avoid spicy foods which induce heat and agitation.

Some of you know the struggles Ollie’s had since his seizure 2 years back, the biggest being demise of neurological function in his back leg. I’ve taken him to acupuncture, tried a cold laser rehab method, and take him out in a little red flyer wagon on his really bad days when he can’t walk much at all, but the little dude still has SO MUCH SPIRIT and he’s so resilient & i want to keep him as active as we can for as long as we can. In so, i’ve reached out to the HRC for help in outfitting ollie with wheels & I’m making it my personal mission to raise funds to help outfit 3 more furry animals in need. .

I know it’s Monday & for many of you that means starting the dreaded work week ahead... i get it, I’ve been there & did that commute to work thing for over 25 years of my life before i moved my ‘office’ online. But no matter what you’re doing for ‘work’, even if you love what you do, you can still get caught up in ‘the grass in greener’ syndrome. I certainly would ‘rather be back in Tulum’ right now then working from my little garden side studio, but you know what?! It’s not really an option today, & my little home office ‘ain’t so shabby’ either. .

So instead of focusing on what i ‘don’t’ have control over in this minute, imma focus on what i can control TODAY: that’s my choices, my nutrition, my hard work & dedication to growing myself, helping others be their best, and taking new & exciting chances! If you haven’t known me long, then you likely don’t know me as the girl who used to hide in the back of a group fitness class and just do her darnedest to keep up, but that was me. I still often try to hide in group classes because no matter how much you change and how much healing you do, there is still a piece of HER that lives in you & there will always be things i am self conscious of {like my back issues which prevent me from ‘keeping up’ & doing things others in class are doing}. Thats one reason why i love my home workouts & focusing on sound nutrition & self care. It’s far easier to achieve my state of well being & more fun when I’m not caught up in the comparison game.

Today I’m celebrating slipping into a bikini and feeling confident in my skin. I seriously don’t even recognize my body some days. It’s amazing what you can do with the right understanding of nutrition, the right support system, the right mindset & the right routine that works for you & your unique needs and preferences. .
