BUT what I was doing wasn't working so I decided to try something different since I was just feeling down and icky. I had nothing to lose. That's when I joined my first online accountability group, 5 Years ago!
Now I have the tools and knowledge to help YOU get here too! I want to teach you what I've learned. I am all about teaching you a lifestyle change vs a crash diet. Much love & gratitude to everyone who took the time to send messages, texts, voicemails, cards and even flowers on this special day. Yes, I am now the big 4-0! As I reflect, there are plenty of things I wish I could have told all of my younger selves - about how it would all work out - but all of that ... 🎈Much love & gratitude to everyone who took the time to send messages, texts, voicemails, cards and even flowers on this special day. Yes, I am now the big 4-0! As I reflect, there are plenty of things I wish I could have told all of my younger selves - about how it would all work out - but all of that talk would be disingenuous. I realize now that all of life’s events, including broken hearts to heartaches of losing loved ones, have to unfold in their own time. That’s life: it’s about learning, growing and leaving up to the Lord. I still have a lot of learning to do, but here are a few things I’ve learned over the past 4 decades:
1️⃣ Find what makes you happy & DO IT.
2️⃣ Love your body. A few years ago after my 20th Muay Thai fight, I decided to save my brain cells so I could pursue my MBA and begin working on building a better body before I turned 40. With my innate competitive spirit, I started bodybuilding. I’m excited to share that I’ll be stepping back on stage later this week at 40 years young! I used to think bodybuilders self absorbed (LOL, we are, to a certain extent.) But anyone that prioritizes their health & fitness is attractive to me! It represents hard work, dedication, discipline, self respect. No amount of money can buy it! You only have one body - it’s the only place to live.
3️⃣ With that said, NEVER let anyone define your limits or stop you from pursuing your dreams or goals.
4️⃣ Be grateful. Gratitude not only enables us to appreciate what we already have, but also attracts new blessings.
5️⃣ Leave/remove toxicity. Nuff said.
6️⃣ Be nice to everyone: you don't know what people are going through. A simple act of kindness can revolutionize someone's day.
7️⃣ Don't wait to travel. It won't get easier. Just go.
8️⃣ Workout! You always feel better after a workout. Always.
9️⃣ Excuses are bullsh!t. Identify your priorities and rearrange your life to accommodate them. Make sh!t happen.
🔟 Seek Love from the Lord, you can never go wrong with Him.

Condromalácia ou condropatia são termos utilizados para definir a doença da cartilagem articular. A condropatia patelar é também conhecida como síndrome da dor femoropatelar ou mais popularmente como “dor anterior no joelho”. Ela é basicamente caracterizada pela lesão da cartilagem que recobre a região articular da patela e sua classificação vai desde um grau mais simples como o amolecimento, até um grau mais avançado, como fissuras (rachaduras), degeneração e exposição do osso subcondral (osso recoberto pela cartilagem). É uma condição bastante comum em indivíduos jovens, podendo acometer até 40% dessa população, sobretudo o sexo feminino.

Меня зовут Ирина, мне 40 лет. Пришла в клуб в декабре 2016 года, на подарочный сертификат. Мысль была скинуть хотя бы киллограмчик до Новогоднего корпоратива. Пригласила меня Оксана, за что я ей бесконечно благодарна! Весы показали 96 кг,54 года биологический возраст и много другого!!! Как то мне очень сильно всё это не понравилось. А нужно сказать, что я была не потолстевшая девушка, а как я обычно говорю ребенок - перекормыш, то есть с детства была полной, и за свою жизнь перепробовала все известные диеты и другие способы худения (вплоть до самых абсурдных)
И я даже худела, однако вес всегда возвращался назад. И вот я пришла в Клуб здорового образа жизни и за три подарочных дня скинула с продуктами Гербалайф 2,5 кг и тут произошло чудо (по другому я не могу это назвать) потому, что я вдруг поверила своему консультанту. After the week of non Whole Foods slowly introduce a small piece of chicken or fish if you have to have meat. You want to eat your veggies. Once the cleanse is done you can workout if you want dope results. With exercise you can get rid of 40 pounds in the course of a month. People will say that’s not healthy to lose that much weight in one month but if you eat right , and small portions it’s fine. But there’s a lot to go over. Ingredients

1 ½ cups almond flour
1/3 cup coconut oil
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup walnuts
½ cup coconut flakes
¼ cup hemp hearts
sea salt, to taste

This recipe makes approximately 6 servings

Instructions

Preheat oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well. (I find it easier to melt down the coconut oil a little bit before adding it)

Spread mixture into one flat layer on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until mixture is toasted to your liking. Mix every 10 minutes or so to ensure that it gets baked evenly.

Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving, then transfer into a plastic container to save the rest! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Let me tell you a little about my side hustle....Today I was chatting with an old friend from high school about what I do as a coach. Through our conversation, I found that she was wanting to pursue this because her maternity leave was almost up and she was dreading going back to work and leaving her sweet newborn (which hit me right in the feels because that’s exactly why I started this little side gig 3 years ago...) what hit me even harder was that she was on this maternity leave... UNPAID, & it literally broke my heart to know there are that many women out there, going through this SAME situation, that don’t KNOW there is another option, that that’s NOT how things have to be... but maybe it’s not a baby just yet, maybe you’re more like me 3 years ago: an incredibly broke grad student up to her ears in debt & quickly realizing the stagnant 8-5 corporate world just wasn’t filling her with joy, wasn’t paying her bills, and was keeping her from her family...not to mention how much it would keep her away when it was time for babies. 3 years ago I took a chance on ME, invested in my health & fitness, & dreamed a little bigger than society’s norms. I started this side hustle coaching biz to help pay my bills, any little bit help, so a couple months into my journey, I was damn proud to be bringing home an extra $600 a month to help! “Are you building the life of YOUR dreams or are you spending your time watching others build theirs?”

Ouch. I realized I was wasting a whole lot of time reading about other people’s lives when I could’ve been working on my own.

And that’s when I got to work. It wasn’t over night. It was small changes here and there. Investing in things that would help me grow. Taking the time to learn how to be & do a little bit better. There were a lot of set backs & difficult moments but there were also a lot of little wins.

Now it is my passion is to help other women build their confidence through health & fitness, and I believe that I have never been in a better place with better tools than I have right now in this moment. .

On Monday, July 16th, I will be starting a brand new fitness program that is 30-40 minutes a day and only FOUR days a week (HELLO busy mamas)! It comes with a nutrition plan that is super flexible and easy to follow, and allows you to enjoy the foods that you love (you guys know I’m not about depriving myself). It will run over the course of 8 weeks and I will be doing 32 different workouts- so no room for boredom or plateaus.

As I turn 40 this month, I’ve come to realize how important being consistent and trying new methods is in working out and eating “relatively” clean.(Eat a pizza once in a while) I’ve found it’s the consistency in making the good micro decisions day in, day out and the best way in preventing getting bogged down is by taking it one day at a time. Have a short and long term plan, but execute it EVERY DAY. It is imperative in getting your dog trained to the level you want, and it’s imperative in getting YOU trained to where you want. These two pictures were taken 19 years apart, and it’s the consistency, trying new methods and good micro decisions that have made the difference in my life in so many ways. What the health & fitness industry is doing isn’t entirely working. In my opinion, what the industry is doing is increasing the divide; by encouraging fit people to become fitter, whilst at the same time shaming those who aren’t matching up to the media’s portrayal of what is physically acceptable or trending.

The industry has become less & less about health & more & more about looking good, resulting in women being sucked into the belief that if they could just find a ‘magic pill’ that will give them even just a small chance of looking like the models on Instagram, then they will achieve the same smiley, happy life as a result. No wonder the industry is growing at such an alarming rate; it is selling not only the dream of physical perfection but also life utopia as a side-effect. Only neither of those things appear.

Trends change & there will always be some part of our physical body that we feel needs to be ‘improved’ upon. However, if we work on the basis that our happiness can only exist if we match up to our physical expectations, then we are signing ourselves up to a lifetime of chasing the impossible. I spent years in this mindset, I deem myself lucky that it was only a few years, because I see women who are still chasing that dream 40-odd years down the line. .

What I feel the industry has done is confuse the public as to what health actually is; it’s not six pack abs or thigh gaps, in a physical sense health is being free from illness or injury, & a huge aspect of health is also being in a state of complete mental & emotional wellbeing. In my eyes, we cannot expect negative self-image, punishment in the form of extreme food reduction, over exercising or self-denigration to lead to improved overall health. A healthy body image starts in the mind & so does self-confidence.

Honestly I am just grateful to still be alive and have my health. Let me tell you - every year it is harder to keep the body and health you had in your 20’s 30’s 40’s and 50’s. But I have arrived at a place in my life where it’s now truly about health, energy and longevity. Yes my skin is looser, my muscles are smaller, my legs flabbier, but I’m healthy and alive. I’m going with being the best I can be no matter what my age. In fact, I’m embracing it. Age brings wisdom and experience. And If I can inspire one person to eat healthy and exercise then I have done my job. If you can only crawl then crawl. If you can walk then walk. If you can run then run but move your body until you can’t move it anymore. I’m grateful to be working @catalystbuffalo and @raw_truth_integrative_health where we welcome all ages and levels of fitness and encourage everyone to be the best version of themselves.
When you are little, 60 seems ancient - but when you arrive, if you still have your health you still feel 30! I suppose at my age I should be wearing a one piece too - but what the heck - it’s too hot for a one piece, and who made up that rule anyway?! What led you to what you do for work? "I'm a stay at home mother of four kids. I gained well over 40+ pounds after my 4th pregnancy. I couldn't seem to make time going to a gym, so I substituted that with DVD workouts at home whenever I had the time. In less than 12 months I lost those 40lbs and I am currently in the best shape of my life. I wanted educate and empowers others. If I could do it, they could do it too."

You set a goal to reach your DREAM BODY

You went to wholefoods and spent hundreds of dollars buying all the organic foods
.
.
You hired an online Personal Trainer who gave you a cookie-cutter 12 week program
.
.
You’re kicking ass those first 3 weeks! You probably even lost a pound or two
.
.
Week 4 rolls by and nothing is stopping from reaching your goals.
.
.
By the middle of week 4 you start to get really fucking tired. Waking up at 5am to do 40 minutes of fasted cardio sounds DREADFUL
.
.
So you skip the gym that day because you’re not feeling it
.
.
Then the guilt kicks in, and your mind tells you that since you skipped your workout for the day what’s the point of even having that kale smoothie today? .
.
You say fuck the smoothie, and instead eat a massive bowl of oatmeal and almond butter.

You go on with your day, and you’re being extra “bitchy” towards everyone because you’re subconsciously mad at yourself for “messing up”

You finish the day off with a few margaritas because it’s national tequila day.

You promise yourself you’ll start fresh again tomorrow and this time you’ll be EVEN MORE DISCIPLINED

You wake up hungover, but you push through it bc “your dreams won’t work unless you do”

Did you know mince pies were originally known as Christmas pies? and contained very different ingredients from the ones we eat today. They included rabbit, pigeon, partridge, hare and pheasant, as well as dried fruit and spices! So actually.. they were somewhat nutritionally dense in protein, who woulda thought.

Today your mince pie is going to set you back at least 218 calories for a retailers own brand; and if you want the fancy ones, forget it- you're looking at 260 to even up to 300 calories per pie. Yikes. Running off a mince pie containing 218 calories would take 18-21 minutes, while to walk it off would take 40 minutes, so imagine if you eat 3.. or 6 over a few days. Moderation is key folks, don't be a mince pie monster this Christmas 🤣

In summary I found the shift quite straight forward, shopping is simple... just avoid 2/3rds of the supermarket!
.
My diet is approximately:
* 60-65% Protein and Fat (animal sources)
* 35-40% Vegetable / Nuts
.
My observations so far:
* Increased strength, energy and endurance
* Reduced body fat / increased muscle mass (I actually weigh more) * Improved skin quality / reduced inflammation
* Improved digestion / gastrointestinal health
.
All in all a good move and I am enjoying the benefits, I'll definitely stick with my latest lifestyle adjustment!

This is why I really get lost when people have 1 Job , a few 12 hour days , no kids and are up at 6-7am and claim they have no time ! Dear lord. Cuerpo recto y manos a 45°grados,ni muy hacia delante y ni muy hacia atras,meter abdomen (si abres las costillas,lo estas haciendo mal!)😑
Como se vera en el video,uso la esterilla para colocar los antebrazos en una zona para realizar una tecnica correcta del plank 😏

Os reto a hacerlos en casa!!Decirme si lo notais 🙌

Then & Now... as I get ready to go to bed for the last time as a 39yr old I have been thinking about my life since turning 30

I have lost some stuff and some people and I have gained some stuff and some people but one of the biggest changes within me in the last 10yrs is my sense of self, purpose and health •
10yrs ago I had very little sense of self, I was someone’s sister, someone’s daughter, a singer in the church a reliable and loyal friend but I didn’t really know me in my 20s I existed like everyone else did and because I merely existed I had no real sense of purpose and I didn’t really take my health super seriously despite making more positive efforts in that direction... •
Thankfully that did NOT spill into my 30s!!!

In my 30s I have taken charge of my life, I am still all of those identifying adjectives but the difference between then and now is that I own them, I take pride in them, I embrace them and use them to help me in defining my purpose

The biggest thing really to change is my ownership of and responsibility for my health!!! When I look at these pics so much is different and for that I am truly grateful and more motivated than ever to continue on in #gettingbacktoabetterme!!!

While spending my days fighting pain and having almost no energy I've been doing school work & reading. "Beneath the College Jersey" by Marten J. Vandervelde gave me some inspiration to post something I hope can help you guys out and make you ask some questions about how you treat your bodies. 🤷🏻‍♂️ REACTIVE 🚫 PROACTIVE 💯 The words are influential in so many aspects of our lives but today I want to focus the meaning of them towards our health! The majority of individuals in America (especially young people) believe that if we aren't sick than we are healthy. This belief would constitute a person as being reactive to their body as opposed to proactive. People with a reactive mindset to their health wait to take action after something bad happens to it. Proactive people take the steps necessary before hand so health problems are less likely to occur at all. Are you reactive or proactive to your body??? These are my 3 simple proactive tips anyone can do to help them become healthier physically and mentally!
1. Drink more water!!! Our bodies are made up of about 75% water and without it we can't survive. The body also has no place to store water so you have to drink it everyday! 6-10 glasses a day is optimal but more if you are an athlete.
2. Daily Exercise!!! As athletes we get plenty of exercise playing our sport. For people who don't do athletics 10-40 minutes a day of exercise will change your life!
3. Don't over complicate eating!!! Eating healthy is more common sense than people believe. You know what is good for you and what is bad for you.
Please don't wait till you start seeing those extra pounds, feeling groggy every morning, getting sick all the time, etc... to become proactive to your body! BE PROACTIVE NOW!

The past 60 days of committing to this program has been great, I’ve really enjoyed the weight lifting & HIIT workout combination! It was nice to be able to stick to the program being as I only had to work out 4 days a week with 3 rest days, it was perfect with having a newborn at home.

I will admit my eating has NOT been on point but I’ve still made a ton of progress to get back into my pre baby body.
I’m looking forward to kicking off with the program again with my second round of test group participates! This go at it I’m going to focus on my diet more closely as I’m still rocking the maternity cloths and have a goal to be in my summer cloths prior to our trip to Hawaii in October! 🏝☀️ -

What is your morning routine or health regimen you like to follow?

Consistency and experimentation. I talk about consistency and experimentation on a regular basis in dog training, and in life it’s no different. As I turn 40 this month, I’ve come to realize how important being consistent and trying new methods is in working out and eating “relatively” clean. (A motherfu #*% has to eat a pizza once in a while) I’ve found it’s the consistency in making the good micro decisions day in, day out and the best way in preventing getting bogged down is by taking it one day at a time. Have a short and long term plan, but execute it EVERY DAY. It is imperative in getting your dog trained to the level you want, and it’s imperative in getting YOU trained to where you want. These two pictures were taken 19 years apart, and it’s the consistency, trying new methods and good micro decisions that has made the difference in my life in so many ways.

I used to “go out” drinking every Friday and Saturday; after working all week, I simply just wanted to “disconnect” as I would say. My weekday routine was overwhelming; every Monday- Friday, I would wake up at 5am, teach spin/workout, get ready for work, work that 8 hour day, come home, make dinner, put together more spin routines & playlists, have Coaching sessions with a client or two, sleep, repeat. I made sure I got all work done so that I could have my “Me time”, my play time on the weekends.
What I didn’t realize is that my body was in a constant state of stress; stress from working basically 5am to 10pm everyday, to binge drinking on the weekends having Sunday as my only day to actually do nothing—which usually meant I was actually hungover and had no energy to do anything. My business, my family, my life- put on hold for YEARS. There was actually no “Me time”. Last summer I finally called it quits. I had to let go of something that was holding me back from doing so much—I resigned from my 9-5 job! As soon as I told my boss, an immediate weight was lifted off my shoulders. And opportunities immediately presented themselves. I knew I would be okay. And I am. I am healthier, I am happier, I am able to focus on health & fitness coaching, I am able to see friends and their babies on a Wednesday at 2pm if I want, I’m able to go shopping & grab lunch with my sister, I’m able to go home to visit with my parents on a Tuesday ALL DAY if I want to.
Although I have more “me time” since 40+ hours per week opened up for me, I work more now than I did at the 9-5. When you love what you do and love talking about it, it’s not work, it’s a hobby that never ends, one you never want to end bc it fills your soul with butterflies!
I go to bed at 9:30pm on Friday nights; I’m able to fully be present on Saturdays for friends birthdays on the Beltline simply because I am healthy & happy.❤️
