New visual me and @1shotdealz just shot three days ago. A very honest record shot in beautiful parts of Kingston including Portmore,Spanishtown, August-town, The Gaza amongst others. Salute to the hospitality and G passes given to bring this vision to life. I believe The worst thing any body can do when visiting another country is to think your helping the economy by staying on a resort, secluded from authenticity while circulating the dollar amongst corporations. I know people who been to 10 different countries and have nothing to show for It but photos of unlimited drinks, an excursion of some sort and a pic on the beach. And that's true, I really can't explain how, when my body quits and everything hurts and the volume in my head and soul are at 11 and trying to get me to quit that, I simply ... I am sometimes asked, "how do you run 200 miles". I usually answer, "I don't know. I know that I do, I just can't explain how". And that's true, I really can't explain how, when my body quits and everything hurts and the volume in my head and soul are at 11 and trying to get me to quit that, I simply refuse the request and proceed. My answer is also that, "I decide I'm doing it before I ever begin the race." Months before I start, before I finish the online registration I must, without any doubt, decide that I CAN DO THIS AND I WILL DO THIS. It's not easy. It's not as simple as saying it out loud. It's a commitment. It's a covenant with myself that I will not be dissuaded or distracted. I will not fail in my attempt. I will not waver in my belief and I will not doubt who I am or what I can do.
I have grown quite accustomed to finishing. Even when the odds are stacked against me. When the day starts in chaos and nothing goes right I manage to make progress and continue. My slowest finishes at the very back of the field are my most memorable and strengthening. They are so because I make them so. I'm proud of my victories but I'm never ashamed about my defeat. I learn from my mistakes and I never let pride or ego win.
Sunday morning on September 9th, 2018 I had to make a hard choice. Continue and potentially ruin my body or quit and heal. That sounds like a no-brainer but for those who know how hard it is to face yourself in the mirror even when things are good, understand how awful those demons are. When I handed in my spot tracker to the aid station volunteers Sunday morning it was a madhouse in my head where all that doubt and all those voices united together and chanted at the top of their voice, "you are a failure". I lived most of my life listening to those voices and heeding that self doubt. Discounting myself and selling myself short time and time again. If there ever was a time in my life to go off the deep end it was this week. But you know the funny thing about self respect, discipline and will power? The more you use them, the stronger they get. My pity party may have admittedly lasted a few days. I've shed more than enough tears.....

It's Jeannine a new fear takes over, sponging all hope, I look to will and gesture for him to inject himself as I do the same, a cold boney hand tightens around my wrist before I could press down the plunger 💀 // uriah // I watch in horror as tris fails to inject herself, her small yet muscular body hits the ground, is see the conscious leave, she trembles a violent shake takes over, Mar leaps forward in agony to help, I turn to face Jeannine, mar, tris will and I had the only "revival" serum, all we have to do to prevent her getting her hands on it is use it, I lift the serum to my neck, I feel not even a pinch as I push hard on the plunger, my large body falls softly to the ground, just as wills did, the world around me fades, I feel my body do the same. 💀 // tris // I'm aware of everything around me, I just can't respond, or stop shaking, wills body faded into nothing, as did uriah', I hope they got back, even if I cannot, it's then my eyes meet Mar's "I'll miss you she says, lifting the final syringe and parching it to my shoulder, the world freezes around me, I let the liquid I feel flowing my veins take over, 💀 a harsh raw voice scratches my name, "tris," I force my head to the side refusing to open my eyes or move in any other way, "tris it's me, will!" I manage a groan "please tris you can do it, open your eyes, look at me, I think it worked, I think we are living!" I heated the joy in his voice so I did it, for him I used all energy I had left in me to do it but soon I regained full-consciousness Uriah was sobbing in the corner, a sight I never thought I would come across, his bulky shoulders shake I can't understand his cries, "mar didn't make it"

If you follow me for a while, you know that I love them! Why? Because I hate to bind off shawls😅
An applied edging is worked in another direction and simultaneously joined to the body of the shawl. You do that every other row working the last stitch of the edging together with 1 body stitch. You can do it on RS or on WS. I will show you how to do it on RS rows. For that you need to end the body with WS row.
So here's how you do it:
1. CO stitches for the edging. You can use Backwards loop cast-on method (see the first video 👉🏻), knitted or cable cast-on. If you use the first method, don't turn work after the last body row, for the other 2 methods CO sts with RS facing. Recently I prefer Backwards loop cast-on one, but all of them work out just fine for applied edgings.
2. Work RS row to the last stitch of the edging. Usually the first rows of the edging are worked in garter stitch. So you knit to the last stitch and then work the last st as k2tog or ssk, depending on the result you want to get. If you want to have a braid on RS, go with ssk!
3. On all WS rows you slip the first stitch and work the row to the end.
4. That's all! Repeat steps 2-3 until all stitches are removed. The first 2 rows are shown in the second video, and rows 3-4 are shown in the third video.
5. When all stitches are removed, BO all stitches loosely.
You can use stitch markers to separate every pattern repeat of your stitch pattern to be sure you haven't missed anything. That can be useful when you have a huge square or a circular shawl. You can imagine how much it sucks when you are at the end of the edging and you have an extra stitch😅 I've been there a few times.
I used applied edgings in a few of my designs (swipe to see the pictures). They are fun and quick to knit, because the rows are short and are knitted faster.

Training the body helps to train the mind. Anyone who consistently works out knows the feeling of pushing past that point where your body wants to quit. And the subsequent feeling of achievement and satisfaction that follows. That’s the moment where you know in your heart that you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to because your mind is strong enough to push you there.

I like to train in the morning and take that feeling with me throughout the day.

I can do absolutely anything I set out to do. You can too, sometimes you just need to prove it to yourself before you truly believe it.

My challenge to you this weekend is to get out of your comfort zone and push yourself past the point of quitting in any endeavour. Get your brain used to that feeling. Enjoy the endorphins that follow 🙏🏻

What do you do when you're not pole dancing (work/school/hobbies etc.)?
Outside of pole dancing, I am either working, sleeping, stretching or checking out various hot spots in Toronto. I love a good patio and spending my days out in the sun!

How did you first discover pole dancing?
While living in the U.K., I got involved with a community dance company called GMDC. I really enjoyed it and loved meeting other like-minded individuals while getting the opportunity to work on new skills in dance. A year after getting involved with them, they expanded their style to include pole dancing. I immediately signed myself up and I was hooked! I went from taking one class a week to finding as many pole sessions as I could to attend.

Do you have any previous dance, fitness or sports experience?
Growing up, I was always keen on getting involved with dance and sports; I love to move and see what my body can do. In university, I trained as a cross country runner while fulfilling my degree in Physical Education. Dance had always inspired me but it wasn't until the final years of university that I started to explore dance to a greater degree. I enrolled in dance courses and became involved with the recreational dance group at Brock University... What appealed to you about pole dancing that made you decide to try it?
Pole dancing allows for one to foster whatever skill they deem is important. Whether you are inspired by dance, gymnastics, flexibility, strength, circus, looking sexy or just wanting to try something new, pole dancing has it all. This is what was appealing to me; it is multi-faceted. I enjoy going into practice with a specific focus one day and changing it up the next. On another note, it just looked so damn amazing! What do you feel is a crucial element for a successful class experience?
Apply deodorant, wear two layers of underwear and invest in some grip! After these are all checked, remember that pole dancing is not mastered in a day. It takes work and commitment to get anywhere and if you don't achieve a skill one day, simply rest on it and try again.

It’s been months since I’ve focused on strength and power sets for Squats, and today I happily surprised myself with what I proved to be capable of.

I prefer Deadlifts over Squats because I don’t like loading my spine with so much weight and I #LOVE the strong feeling of pulling ridiculous weight off the floor. I intimately geek out about how every muscle has it’s role to play throughout the movement pattern! 🤓
But here’s the honest truth as to why I dig the Deads: I get too pridefully focused on the number of pounds I’m lifting and know I can lift more with Deads than Squats. Or so I had thought and had been limiting myself to...smh.🤦🏼‍♀️ Moral of the story: DO NOT PLACE LIMITATIONS ON WHAT YOUR BODY CAN DO WHEN IT’S YOUR MIND THAT NEEDS CONVINCING.

2011 - 2013 (15 y.o)- ATTENTION TO ALL MY SKINNY GIRLS OUT THERE THAT EAT LIKE GROWN MEN🗣: Enjoy your fast metabolism while you still have it! With age, time, and an unhealthy lifestyle your metabolism slows and in a blink of an eye, you can’t fit any of the clothes in your closet. The right pic. was when I started cheering in HS. I was pretty active. BC had my body filling out in all the right places. I worked at McDonald’s, ate like a PIG, and could buy clothes without trying them on lol 😭 Exercise : only at practice SWIPE⬅️
2014-2015 (18 y.o)-So much change in a year! Freshman 15 is a real thing😅. My self-confidence and health were at all times lows. I barely ate but only ate junk food. I tried the gym, quit then tried just about every quick fix fat loss method under the sun! SWIPE⬅️
2016-2017 (21 y.o)- FAST FORWARD ⏭ to rock bottom😭. I was unhealthy and unhappy in every aspect. I had zero drive for anything. With the strength from within and the help of my amazing boyfriend who teaches me daily that I’m capable of anything (Thank you peanut ❤️), i decided it was time to change my life. Exercise: 2-3 times a week, inconsistently SWIPE⬅️
2018 (22 y.o)-I CAME A LONG WAY. Patience and consistency have been 🔑. I now work out 7 days a week, 1:30-2 hour sessions bc I truly enjoy it (and also because I’m making SLOW diet changes lol).
Exercise has benefited my life physically AND mentally. I now know that if i can push myself through work outs, improve/learn/grow in the gym i can do anything i put my mind to in all aspects! When i tell you.. IF I CAN DO IT.. you can do it, i mean that. For all shapes and sizes, loving yourself is important but your health is essential! ✧ tic taps:
this exercise should directly follow your push ups. from the push up, simply take your right hand and tap in front of your left elbow. after you make contact with your elbow, quickly retract the hand to the original position and perform with the opposite hand. continue tapping back and forth with each for as long as you can.

✧ table tops:
to perform this exercise, sit on the bed with your legs extended in front of you and your arms resting at your sides. bend your knees and place your feet flat on the bed. your hands and feet should be flat on the bed pointing in opposite directions from each other. in a smooth action, press firmly into your hands and feet. straighten your elbows, and lift your hips up toward the ceiling in order to form a straight line with your torso and thighs, making your body appear like a table. hold the position and squeeze your glutes. retract, and repeat.

✧ bench presses:
you don’t need a bar to do this, simply use some hand weights. if you don’t have any, even soup cans will do the job! if i have to explain that the cans should be sealed then we have much bigger problems than fitness to worry about.

✧ sit-ups and crunches:
so long as you don’t have a water bed, you can do sits ups and crunches easily on your own mattress. for an added challenge, add a bicycle move to your sit ups. to do this, lift as you would do for a normal crunch, then twist your body gently to one side. whilst doing this, extend the opposite leg to the direction your turning. repeat this movement whilst alternating between sides.

✧ stretches:
most importantly of all, be sure to do your stretches when you cool down in order to prevent injury.

2.) Stay away from stimulants. Coffee, tea or energy drinks of any kind can increase stress! Instead have decaffeinated drinks or pick fresh vegetable and fruit blends juices for a natural energy boost.🍵

You may not represent society’s idealistic view of perfection, but I still love you. You are strong, you are unique, and you are beautiful! Yesterday on stories I opened up to you guys and girls about some of the insecurities that I have been facing for years. It all started from my teenage years and some pretty horrible experiences from school.
I have never been someone who fitted in with the crowed, at age 14, nearly 6 feet tall, pretty gangly & super athletic (which btw wasn’t all that cool when I was at school over 15 years ago).
All I can say is... I am so thankful for the shift in society, particularly in the UK (where most of my experience lies) whereby many school children are now seeing it as a cool thing to participate in sport/the gym, and to look and feel fit & healthy. My experience in Dubai is pretty limited at all the moment, but I’m hoping I’ll find the same trend, if not, I am determined to help spread this movement to the Middle East.
Do I think this change in society’s perception of fitness & the idealistic body type is a good thing? My answer is yes & no!
The shift to want to be healthier, wear gym clothing & feel good is INCREDIBLE. However in my opinion we are on occasions now subject to a new type of idealistic body shape & body shaming is taking place just as frequently, if not more so now with the rapid rise of social media and accessibility. In my recent experience of finding inner happiness & self acceptance, the bottom line is that trends are always going to change, including the role models we look up to. And, we can’t attempt to change our body type every single time a trend changes, it’s not good for our physical or mental health. We as a community need to embrace the fact that we are ALL UNIQUE, and strength & happiness looks different in every single person.
I summary, do I love my body- YES!! Am I proud of my body... YES. Do I want to make improvements to my body for myself- YES!! Because I love the feeling progressing my physical and mental strength, and spreading that experience with you all too.
So if any of you are having a day of slightly lower self esteem... Please Remember, YOU are UNIQUELY BEAUTIFUL ❤️

I know, it’s not easy: when the world tells you that you are what you eat, or what you weigh, or that you’re only as good as your calorie count or the number of followers on social media. 
The world weighs with numbers; the Lord weighs with grace. He wants you to rest and trust him. He’s got you covered.

Here are five truths I wish I carried with me during my struggle, but now make me even stronger today:
1. You have a voice. In one breath, you can surrender your body image mindset and/or disorders eating patterns. It does not control you. You have a voice, and you can use it to stand up and take action.

2. You can be free from this mindset that is controlling you. Although we are surrounded by media temptations, we can take control on what we absorb and apply to our life.
3. You are more then any body image and/or disorder eating pattern. You are not your body image and/or disordered eating. I know you cling to it for protection, but your identity is being consumed, versus identified.
4. You are not crazy. Something I believed I was during this time. But my dear, you are not crazy. Those voices can be muted by one small action, taking control.
5. The rest of your life is not determined by this present moment. Stop, take a step back, and open your secret door, the door you have always had within you ... the door to your heart. When you can close one door, know that their is always another one to open.
My page is an open book to you all. It is a place of comfort and honesty. It is a place for you to open up about any struggles, past or present. It is a place that allows you to create a positive perspective on a situation and learn more about yourself!

Number ☝🏼 thing you must understand – Do whatever works FOR you & works WITH you. Every BODY is different. Factor your body/goals/lifestyle/happiness. And we all react differently to different methods. -
Easy steps:
1️⃣Calculate your necessary caloric intake for your current goals
2️⃣Calculate Protein: doesn’t need to be any more than 40% & shouldn’t drop below 20% (Best starting point: multiply body weight x 0.8 = grams of P)
3️⃣Subtract P calories from your total & divide them evenly between C & F
4️⃣NOW adjust to see what dat body likes

🔸Example: 2000 cals, 150lbs person
✔️150 x 0.8 = 120 grams of P/day (480 cals)
✔️2000 – 480 = 1520 ÷ 2 = 760 cals each for C & F
✔️So, 190 grams C & 84 grams F
✔️This split would be: 24% P | 38% C | 38% F

Leftover cals for C & F can be divided however you like. #DoYouBoo You may be more carb dependent or maybe more fat. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And some moments in life may be different than others, so readjust. Fat was my hormones’ friend for a minute. (Pictured, the usual bfast recently 😋) Just depends where you’re at. ADJUST.

It’s about learning to listen to your body - watch, feel, be in-tune, understand how your body is responding to food. Keep note of it. 📝 Pay attention right after you eat. This is how you learn what your body prefers – not what you like better! Pay attention to energy, bloating, crashing, dehydrated, body tightens up, recovery after a workout, sleep patterns, etc.

As long as you stay within your appropriate amount of cals, you’ll still see results. BUT don’t go eating ALL your calories in carbs! Which, btw, you can do. 🤪 BUT, you're not nourishing your body properly👉🏼it'll catch up with you👉🏼things won't be functioning too well on the INSIDE! 👊🏼

Then it occured to me, endurance training is where salvation might lie. Your 3 sets of 10 bench press may feel tough while underneath a metal object falling on you. But no more than 30 seconds have gone by and you stop at a number. Not when the going gets tough. Run. Cycle. Swim. Do it for hours. Learn to breath so its never lost. Regain control of your human instinct and move properly without giving up. With that battery acid pumping through your legs during your 6th uphill click back on that bike but you still pedal and scream. Run. Because your still skin and flesh can do it, you just won't. Endure. Effort is a currancy everyone can respect. We know when you quit. You do too. Learn from it and maybe you'll see a real transformation. Not something a fad supplement or keto can save you from. Your self and failing with your body.

So, do yourself a favor, I highly encourage you to wake up phone-free, take 15-20 minutes your yourself to go outside for a morning walk, take your partner or your puppy if you want the company, or make your coffee and sit on the couch and read a book, meditate, do some yoga in your living room. Whatever you have to do to allow yourself to wake up positively, DO IT! And then you’ll be able to tackle whatever the day throws at you. You are worth taking time for yourself, my friend. Didn't do much this morning tho cos I had stuff to do , was only able to do some cardio 200 jumping jacks and 20 squats....the more pain you feel the more exercise you do so that your body get used to it and adjust

Had some size 10 and 8 outfits I tried and it was so amazing that they finally fits....one of them is a purple skirt, it hasn't fit me for the past almost 3yrs now n it zipped n was okay....the trousers fit was too amazing....I only had such fitting when I wore waist trainer or butt enhancer ... You can never understand the beauty of exercise until you do it with so much consistency.....not every amazing body did surgery alot of fitness expert workout 7days with weight cos I can attest to it with my 5days working out with just dumbbells.... Will be rocking the outfits soon and will definitely snap pictures, the fits are miraculouly amazing 💃💃💃💃that's just the best way to descriptions them... If you have been working out and you can't see any difference, pls don't stop, continue, change your diet, lift weight and you will definitely see good progress... About this is just to let you see how amazing squats has help lift, build and shaped my glute...it's getting better n bigger by the day.....still looking for more weight at home to add to my current 5kg dumbbells

My diet is not always consistent but I can always bounce back fast because I always keep my muscle maintained. Yes I do mostly lower body workouts ... My diet is not always consistent but I can always bounce back fast because I always keep my muscle maintained. Yes I do mostly lower body workouts that focus on the legs and booty. For me my upper body gets toned enough by doing heavy deads. I really don’t like muscle definition on my upper body. (Except if I get a little definition on my bis and tris) I don’t follow any specific diet I pretty much eat whatever I want in moderation and try to make healthy food choices that support muscle growth (proteins/carbs/etc) I never deprive myself of anything. I never do serious cuts and I never recommend any products to you such as fat burners. I feel in the long run they do more harm then good. I am happy and healthy and enjoying life. In the first pic I was miserable, cardio only 6 days a week (hour runs outside) starving myself (coffee until one meal at dinner time) I knew nothing. This also led to binge eating and “I’ll start again on Monday” 🙄 I’m not saying I looked bad in the first pic just not happy or healthy. Weight lifting has brought me a lot of health happiness and confidence and not to mention a great stress reliever too. If I can do it, you can do it too. Happy Monday!! 🌞🤗💕xoxo Katie

Followed by the panic. “What am I doing here”, “why did I agree to do this” and “could I make a run for it?!”. .

🍓Wakeup right : there s so important to hv some kind of routine when u wakeup in the morning. Try to get up the same time everyday. That way ur body fisicly get on schedule

🍓Designate a work space : make ur little office on ur home, n u must be thinking that "im in my turn to work now"

if someone has been crash dieting on 800 cals for 6 months and now wants to get leaner, you can’t just use averages. 
You need to look further into what issues are stopping fat loss such as inflammation, cortisol or digestion. Once they are fixed up move forward

The mentality of running of 4 hrs sleep “it's ok my body functions better off it” NO it doesn’t - NOBODY DOES!

So for this marathon, more than 70% I guess I use my mental to run. It's a powerful part about human brain, when you really want to run without thinking ... To be honest, I didn't train well due to the busy schedule. So for this marathon, more than 70% I guess I use my mental to run. It's a powerful part about human brain, when you really want to run without thinking of giving up, with the meaning you attached, your brain will control your whole body. At that time, I can't feel any leg pain, only a little soreness.
Also, need to thanks God, He knows I'm not the type of person who can do it alone, so He keeps off my song that I played through earphone that hope it can keeps me from moving on. The song keep off no matter I pressed on for so many times and put into my hand pouch. I prayed hard and said: "Song you off, I got nothing to rely on, only You, please do whatever you want to keep me moving and complete the run." After that, suddenly this friend Kuan Shyang appeared! And we decided to run together. We kept set target and run together. Push each other so we really keep going. The questions that I kept asking him: "Can you see the balloon? Now what's the target? I can't see any sign, I just follow you ah..." Under the heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, with the childhood memory playing with rain, we still create our own fun. Really thanks him, it's definitely a best experience and memory for me to end this year. It's also my last long run, no next time 😂

Side track: (1) An uncle keep help me see "longkang" when I'm running, scare i didn't see it. He kept see me and pointed it to me when he passed through it. Feel a great "father heart" in him. So warm. (2) I only did 35km. At the end the organiser decided to cancel the run due to the rain. Haizzz. Whatever, I did my very best🤷🏼‍♀️And so happy that I manage to get my finisher T and the medal!

It's amazing what stretching can do for you, mind and body. Obviously it's necessary for recovery after a workout, but it can really help you focus on breathing and eating into the stretch. @kellisegars of @fitnessblender always says that stretching should be a question, and that couldn't be more true!

Don't force or push yourself into a stretch if it causes real pain. It takes time to figure out what that means, because stretching can invoke a little sense of pain when your muscles are so very tight, but that should hurt "in a good way." Pushing yourself too far, just like in a workout, can lead to injury! The whole point is to restore, recover, and relax! .

I have every intention of entering 2019 continuing to stretch any chance I get. Physically and figuratively. Stretch my body post-workout and through regular yoga practice. Stretch into myself more fully. Stretch into more painting. More reading. More self-development. Helping others to feel valued and understand their importance. .

3. Our environmental (including social) well-being.
Here I wish to discuss Temporal well-being.
*** Temporal well-being can be defined as how any activity we do (voluntarily or involuntarily) affects us over a period of time. This includes * * how we feel while we are doing the activity (the present), * * how we will feel after we complete the activity (the future) and * * how what we have done (the past) already affects us both now and in the future. *** Temporal well-being is an important factor for exercising ‘in the zone’ (as is said by many sports people, athletes and dancers when they feel they are really doing their passion in a sustainable focused, effortless and/or meditative way). *** Temporal well-being is just as important in fact in real yoga and in real meditation. *** In fact in many ways, exercising ‘in the zone', yoga, and meditation, can be considered to all be the same thing in many wsys.
*** Meditation has been shown to have many positive effects on the body including increasing telomere length, which can increase longevity in a way that epigenetics suggests probably can be transmitted to any future children
*** Meditation does not need to take place only if you are seated and still. Meditation can be done and take place in any posture and also with any type of movement or any activity in fact. It can also be considered to be a state of mind-body-environmental union that is sustained over a period of time. Recently I have had a lot of nasty thing said about me for one reason or another but the other day someone called me FAT! This was said by another woman, and I wanted to bring awareness to this. “Body shaming” I think is the lowest kind of bullying any woman can do. To shame another woman’s body no matter what size they are is disgusting. .
Lucky I am quite comfortable with my body, but that’s taken a lot of hard work for me to get to that point. Don’t get me wrong I have things that I would change but I love my curves, I would much rather have a big bum than a flat one! .
Just imagine the impact your words could have on another woman or girl. If it was a 20 year old me that would have devastated me. .
But for for now I’m just going to smile to myself, go lift some weights then probably eat an Easter egg 🤷🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️

I certainly thought a career and lifestyle that allowed me to have my cake & eat it too--be home with my kids AND have work that I am deeply passionate about that has real purpose--was something of fairytales.

But I was crippled byshyness, social anxiety, & fear of failure. An overachiever, a perfectionist. Badges I mistakenly wore proudly, though they ultimately held be back.

I held too much value in my physical appearance being what I could offer to the world, leading me down self-destructive paths & disordered eating. What people saw on the outside was a mere shell of my authentic self.
🤦🏼‍♀️
But I've learned dreams do come true for those who have the courage to pursue them. I finally made that leap.

Granted they were little baby leaps over time, I didn't believe in myself enough for anything drastic. But they lead to something even greater than my wildest dreams.

What I found over these past 5 years is:
💜A community of incredibly supportive people that i love like family
💜Fulfillment outside of my home & family--and no longer guilty about it
💜Freedom to create my own schedule
💜Financial security allowing us freedom to save & give generously
💜A positive relationship with myself, freed from negative self-speak
💜A positive body image, feeling pride in how i feel & what my body can do
And that's just the start.

A few years ago, a question popped into my head: “where is the kind of fitness that’s kind to your body?” And as my own aging body started reminding me that it would appreciate a little more loving- kindness, an idea formed.

With that idea in place, we began creating and testing a low-impact-high-intensity format at the @refitstudiowaco . We focused on movements that worked to increase muscle tone and coordination and balance and mobility and functionality — all the things that our modern, sedentary lifestyle has taken away. We focused on creating opportunities to move and strengthen your body the way it was intended and designed to move. And because we wanted to keep the heart of REFIT® alive in these classes, we focused on creating an environment that embraced challenges and celebrated accomplishments.

After a year of trialing the class in our studio, we piloted the program in 20 locations across the U.S., and we were not surprised when hundreds and hundreds of survey results poured in with resounding positivity and a 96.6% satisfaction rate. #truthinnumbers (And honestly, we weren’t surprised because WE LOVED IT, TOO...as did our bodies😎) The past few months have been a dizzying whirlwind — finally releasing this program into the hands of our @refitrev instructor community. .
Though the application process was hard and in some ways strict, I am honored to announce that 130+ instructors are currently in training for the REV+FLOW format (and more to come when we open up the next round of applications!). Gracie has been exclusively breastfed since day one and honestly, when we first began nursing it hurt like a mother trucker!😱 I would have to bite my cheek and hold my breath as she latched. I had raw, cracked, bleeding nipples on both sides.😭

But I’m a labor and delivery nurse so I’ve been told time and again how great breastmilk is for your baby if you’re able to nurse. I made a goal to nurse her for a full year - and WE DID IT!🙌🏼

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t always easy.🙅🏻‍♀️I remember tying to do something like eat or bathe and it seemed like the minute i got in the tub or had food my baby wanted to eat. But I quickly learned how to multitask!👍🏼 And thankfully now it doesn’t hurt at all & i haven’t had any issues with cracked or bleeding nipples for months...well, except when she bites me.😬 which btw - I’m wondering if any mama out there has any tips to stop this??? She thinks it’s funny!🤦🏻‍♀️

Ok. I realize I’m writing a book instead of a caption, but it’s so nice to reminisce.☺️ I remember when I was pregnant thinking how comforting & bonding it would feel to nurse my baby. All the moms post the sweetest pics of their kiddos gazing in their eyes while they sweetly rock and nurse their baby.🤱🏻 There are times when that happens, but I’m not gonna lie - nursing felt like a battle to me. It was this war I was determined to win. There was pain, blood, insomnia, and a lot of wondering if my baby was eating enough .... BUT, I’ve gotta tell ya, it was 100% worth it. Every. Single. Bit. Of. It. & I’m so happy we made it to our goal!☺️

...and i also wanna be sensitive to the mama’s who wanted to nurse but just weren’t able to for whatever reason.....at the end of the day FED IS BEST and I’m a true believer in that!🍼 We’re all just doing the absolute best we can!💗

So lately after sharing my journey to gain a little body fat and to slow down on my beloved sport, in order to help my bod want to procreate some day, I’ve gotten so many supportive messages from other women who have been there or who are there now.
I’m here to tell you that having a goal opposite of any other goal you’ve ever had before (aka become more lazy and gain some extra fat) is NOT easy but I honestly love the extra curves these days. My booty has gotten a little larger, my core a little softer and I’ve been able to gain a couple of pounds. Remembering that my goal is to keep my body as healthy as possible gives me so much confidence. Ladies, rock those beautiful curves! [in today’s earlier post, i shared a little how my mental game was during our trip to the granite mecca. it was a lovely reality check as to how much growth is ahead of me. like i said, those tears weren’t bad, just a reflection of where i’m growing from]

and i think this is where to start—each week i’ll take on four/five routes to lead, all under 5.10.
the hope is to try leading them on the first go, it doesn’t need to be clean or pretty or very fast.
i just want to give myself the chance to be in that space and not beat myself up for getting scared, or push myself out of expectation or shame, or for some weird pride thing.
i just want to climb and have fun and be amazed at what my mind and body can do. and i figure the more you put yourself in that space, the better the odds of learning that will be. right?

Most of my @myodetox before/after are usually within a short period of time (I don’t really do long projects anymore) but I had the opportunity to work with my boy @christianguzmanfitness for 30+ hours over the last few years

As you can see the changes are fairly significant. (he worked hard at it! 👏🏼) We brought his body from a state of being disorganized and compressed -> organized and lengthened 👍🏼

Conversation was about different looks &things people are attracted to. Of course VS models are gorgeous. That's what they do, they get paid to model frickn world famous lingerie. They gotta have & work for their modelicious bodies and booties and have all the typically desirable goods of course to earn them their job. Still, I know a lot of people in the bodybuilding world may also be attracted to a more muscular look, or some people may prefer a thicker look, daffy duck butts lol, a more "voluptuous" type, or tall, hair color, beards, tatts, etc. (And some don't have a real certain type🙋‍♀️)
In any case, I always say "to each their own". If people want to make their bodies more muscular cool, if people want to flexible diet, cool, swear by fasted cardio or don't believe in it, okay. If people want to be lazier after competing who really cares. I advocate for just generally being or trying to be healthy, but to each their own.. People like different things &people are attracted to different things. Personally, I am not attracted to a judgmental or hater attitude. It's one thing to say what you like, but don't put something or someone else down in the process. It's so elementary. I am overly content with my body being heavier than I was during competitions. I am honestly not 100% in love with how lean &extra light I get and feel for competitions. It's neat to see what hard work & my body can do, but it's not an easily sustainable look, nor is it a super sustainable lifesyle for someone like me who loves food, most people, and having a social life. So, in any case I will do me & I will like the things I like, including certain attitudes.
In the end looks fade, and aren't the most important thing anyhow.

It was very clear to me that I did not reach Roncesvalles on my own strength. I have heard often that the first day’s hike is the hardest because of the elevation, steep ascend and descend, but I did not know it simply because my body has not experienced these terrains carrying the weight of my pack

There are bus tickets one can purchase that transports you from St. Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles. And arriving here, it amazes me how much we can choose to exercise the power within us. Any other day, any other occasion, I would have opted for a bus ticket, firmly believing that I cannot access the power within

At the end of the hike, fading in the heat and exhaustion, I realized a very simple fact: that we have nothing. I was uttering that “I swear if this trail is any longer, then...,” and I said out loud, “nothing.” Matthew 5:34 says “Do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool...and do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black.” I have always understood this verse. Lupus makes me understand that I have nothing. Perhaps this was too easy because I possessed no physical strength. But today, witnessing what my body can do, and carrying all that I have to survive this month, I realized very clearly that we have nothing without Him. Our pride has no basis when the 27km we struggle with is but a hairline of a distance to our Creator

I will answer those women and I say, “I do the same as men.” I eat the same, I lift the same and its not a hidden trick that I’ve figured out. Sure, it took me years to develop my gym routine and to push myself to accept that calories were my friend, but I lift heavy, just like any other guy.
Food is fuel. Deadlifts aren’t only for big guys but for everyone. If you want to get fitter faster... you need to deadlift AND squat AND do overhead press AND do everything in between.
Because when I get older, that’s all I’ll have: my strength and fitness. Women will age and no longer will your goal will be to “make that booty pop.” No longer will you be trying hard to lose “that muffin top.” Because you’ll be a grown ass woman who’s busy with kids, work and shit. You won’t get far on a diet of 1200cal. 👎
As long as I’m able, I’m going to push myself to hit between 2500-3500 calories everyday and I’m going to grunt and lift heavy. Because what my aesthetic is and isn’t, shouldn’t determine my fitness. You can live life trying to get the ideal body or you can enjoy lifting and benefiting from what your body can do.

Well, it's not that fun. The pains in my body is getting worse every day, and I can feel how my body is giving in.
One of the things I was really looking forward to after getting off the test medicine was to be able to eat what ever I wanted, and enjoy food. But for the last two weeks my mouth have been getting worse and worse, to a point now where I can't eat food that I need to chew, the pain in my mouth is constant and even a cocktail of painkillers does not take away the pain. On top of that my tastebuds are also messed up and everything tastes bland. Unfortunately the hospital does not know what to do, and there's nobody that seems to have any good solutions. Even though I would figure this is a common problem for patients like me.
Today the pain is so bad I had to skip breakfast, and even just drinking something with a bit of acid, like juice, is killing me in pain. But fuck it, I'm going painting with some friends. My body can do it's own thing now, and I'll suppress the pains.

Oh, and then I'm researching some additional treatment, not sure where it will take me or how it might affect me, but let's see what happens.

As far as nutrition I've been doing IIFYM, or macronutrients or whatever everyone calls it since the beginning, I temporarily did Keto last Feb 2017- May 2017. And I'd rather do macros anyday. I haven't taken any pills or any meal replacements. I eat a whole lot of everything. I like food. I just count my macros and stay within my weightloss #s and maintenance when I have special days. It's all about perseverance. I could have quit a long time ago. But my hamstrings, hips and low back were talking to me. So instead of jumping into a high intensity workout my first day back ... Anybody else sore and tight after taking time OFF? 🤷🏼‍♀️After 7 days of much needed rest and recovery (aside from a hike) I woke up ready to get back to my routine today. But my hamstrings, hips and low back were talking to me. So instead of jumping into a high intensity workout my first day back at it, I eased myself back in with the juiciest early morning hot yoga class. I wasn’t pushing myself to my limits- sprinting and throwing kettle bells around like I normally would after time off. I was focused instead on gratitude for all the amazing ways my body can move, kindness towards myself and awareness of what I needed in the moment. It felt really good to check in, and now tomorrow I know I can get after it again, with more INTENTION and without any risk of injury. It’s taken me years to understand this concept, but I finally get it. ✨And for anyone who’s taken a break, however long and for whatever reason- be KIND to yourself when you’re ready to get back to moving again. Don’t approach it with the mindset that you need to punish yourself for “falling off the wagon”. Be PROUD of yourself for showing up again, and ease into it with GRATITUDE for what your body can do. I promise your workouts will be much more enjoyable and your routine will become much more sustainable this way 🙏🏼 •

Just having fun in the gym.. focusing on getting stronger and what my body can do.. not obsessing about every little thing.. just playing more. I remember when I couldn’t do any pull ups.. someone asked me if I could do one and I was like.. hmmmm well idk I haven’t really tried. I feel like maybe we don’t even try things because we’ve already made up our mind that we can’t do it.

So maybe just give it a shot.. and you may surprise yourself.. I sure did.. I think I could do one pull-up..then I kept practicing and eventually you get stronger.. it gets easier and you prove to yourself that you cannnn do the things you once thought you couldn’t. I love looking back and recognizing the things that I’m doing that I never thought I could.. I think we’re all stronger than we give ourselves credit for.. just gotta keep trying.. keep practicing.. keep showing up and putting in the work..little by little..transforming everyday 🐍 🦋🌙🌈

How sad is that? That my FIRST thought when arriving in PARADISE was my weight.
So then I thought about it again, and it really got me thinking. Was I REALLY going to let the way that I look stop me from having an unforgettable holiday? In the past, my answer to that would have been a firm yes.
And then I thought about all of the things that have absolutely no correspondence to the way that I look or my weight.
These include, but are not limited to: my ability to have a good time. My ability to enjoy myself, my ability to take part in sports, to eat local food, to spend time with my family, to be a GOOD and KIND PERSON. And more than anything, to make memories.
In actual fact, my weight and physical appearance have absolutely no relevance to the things in my life that I actually value, so therefore giving it space and power to be influential to my happiness would be quite a tragedy.
But I guess the reason I’m sharing this is because I know I’m not alone. As someone who has come really far in terms of body acceptance, and still with some way to go, I’m certainly not blinded to this epidemic of self hate, low self esteem and self scrutiny.
So here I am, having already explored the island with my mum. I’ve played tennis, snorkelled, learnt the trapeze and bungeed. I’ve sunbathed, and drunk cocktails by the water. Ice cream with every meal and I may have just discovered a giant bowl of chocolate sundae sauce 🤷🏼‍♀️🙊 Many things that body conscious Hannah probably wouldn’t have done.
So if you resonate with any of the above, I really hope it encourages you to have a little think about all of the things in your life that bring you happiness, and also to appreciate all of the small things that you body can DO to make that happen. For me, living a life without constant self scrutiny makes me more happy in my body than I’ve ever been.

The first step that goes into writing a program is deciding what you want to accomplish with that block of training. One good way to do this is to look at your most recent competition performance, in my case Ontario Senior Provincials. 🏋️‍♀️🥈 As you can see my snatches look easy, yet I miss my last one. When my coach and I discussed this missed lift, we determined that my positions during the pull were alright, but that I extended backwards instead of upwards and this cause me to pull myself through the bar instead of up and down. Ultimately this led to not catching with an upright position. My feeling about it as an athlete is that this mistake happens at maximal loads due to a lack of confidence, essentially. So while it is a technical error, it is not that my technique generally is bad, it is that I fail to execute it well at my top top weights. So, this led to the following goals for my snatch: Emphasize second and third pull in the context of heavier loads and frequent heavy practice.

My clean and jerks were pretty good, I missed my second lift due to getting cold. My coach feels in order to keep progressing my CJ, I simply need to maintain my technique and get stronger. So that leads to no specific CJ goal but rather squatting goals. It would also be useful for me to practice heavy CJs with varying rest times to get accustomed to performing in different conditions.

So that leads to 3 goals:
1. Snatch 2nd and 3rd pull
2. Both lifts plenty of heavy practice
3. Squat emphasis

My guideline is to not exceed 3 main goals, any more than that and your program will lack focus and you're less likely to make progress. Only so much 1 body can do at a time!

Keep in mind this process of analyzing your lifts and developing goals should really be up to your coach. Your role can be to share your general goals and how things feel for you, but your coach is in a better position to decide the practical steps required to get there. I do encourage you to ask your coaches though what are the main goals of your program so that you can use that information during your training.

I wasn’t planning to post any but then I saw Thor and he just looked so damn cute - the way he follows me around our place just kills me. Andplusalso, I was super surprised that I didn’t immediately hate the photos and then proceed to get fixated on all my little bits (but yes I still cropped out my arms because they are my least favorite part of my body even though they help me do literally everything 🤷🏼‍♀️). I’ve always had a weird relationship with food and while I’m still not totally comfortable with my body I’ve worked really hard this past year to feel stronger both physically and mentally. I still have days where I’m like why the fuck did I eat those three baskets of chips and guacamole anddddd the whole burrito + days when I’m like holy cow my arms are going to look fucking huge in my wedding dress. Some days though I’m just like wow I feel really good and hey I’m getting stronger and my body can do all these super cool new things, and these days are becoming more frequent. I’m also very thankful that I have a dude who loves ALL my bits, encourages me to workout when I want to hit snooze, and who cooks me healthy meals to pack for lunch. Either way I’m a work in progress and I’m just feeling super appreciative of my body and all that it does, and feeling very excited to continue this journey of growth and self love 🌱💞✨

I've been on the extreme end of the fitness industry (over-exercising while massively under-eating) to look a "certain" way and I was trapped in the constant fight between my body and my mind.

I've pushed through, faced my fears & anxieties head-on, got help, worked hard, & came out on the other end appreciating what my body CAN DO instead of what it only looks like. It’s not a perfect situation every day, trust meeeeee 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I have the tools to help manage it.

This is a lovely oxygenating water movement flow to help loosen all the stiffness in our joints and get our blood moving. Will also help with all the aches, pains and swelling us pregnant ladies may occur

I have done this flow grounded on the floor as I am in my third trimester 30 weeks + so each day gets harder and harder, but any trimester can do this lovely fluid moving flow and of course same goes to anyone who is not pregnant you can also do this flow

Remember to listen to your body, if something doesn’t feel good then stop, and if something feels great then do more of it. Yoga is all about listening to your own body and doing what feels good for you personally

I’m Feeling excited and motivated to kick my diet up a notch. I’m ready to lean out a little more which means it’s time to cut out any protein bars, dairy, processed foods (besides my protein shake I drink after my workout.) I have felt, for months, I wasn’t ready to do this. I’ve had to work on myself on the inside before I felt I could commit to this. Something clicked in my head over the weekend and I decided I am ready! For me to get to the next level, I have to be really strict on my diet BUT I still enjoy my favorite foods twice a week. I am human after all 😜. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Here are something’s that help me:
1. I trust the process. I know what it takes and I KNOW if I put in the time, I will get the reward. Would you do it if you KNEW you could get the results you want? It works and that motivates me.
2. When you are close to your goal, you see changes often and that is an exciting feeling. There is no greater feeling than seeing my hard work pay off. It’s addicting 🙌🏼. 3. I keep my eye on the prize. I look back at pictures of myself when I was at my goal (before my last baby). That’s very motivating! I’m ready to look like that again 🤗! I DO NOT compare to other women's bodies and try to look like them or beat myself up for not looking like them. I just focus on what I know my body can do. And for me, that is key in staying positive.
4. Take progress pictures. Seeing results keeps me going.
5. Meal prep! It’s a must. I cooked a bunch of chicken and ground turkey yesterday. I made a bunch of rice and cut up veggies. It makes it much easier to stick to a plan when you’re prepared. And of course find ways to enjoy your food. If I don’t enjoy it, I can’t stick to it.
6. Surround yourself with positive, encouraging and uplifting friends. I’m lucky to have friends that are like me, get me and encourage me to keep going. It also helps to have an awesome trainer @nick_olsen_yfbm that keeps me in my zone and keeps me excited about it. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

And yes as a lot of you know I was thinner a few years ago, when I first started working out I lost weight by eating cleaner and it quickly became an obsession. I would weigh myself multiple times a day and then it eventually grew into an eating disorder. I was getting sick about every 2 weeks because my immune system just wasn’t strong enough and I was always tired. I will not let any fucking person tell me that my body was healthier when it was being starved. I will not let any fucking person tell me that being skinny means being athletic. I will not let any fucking person tell me I am ugly for being a big boy. Athletes come in all shapes and sizes. I am so proud of what my body can do. It’s the strongest it’s ever been. Could I eat healthier? Of course. Could I train harder? Yes. But I don’t want it to rule my life the way it did. And life’s too short to not eat that piece of cake. I’m eating more than I ever have because I’m exclusively breast feeding.
I’m eating foods that fuel me and foods that feed my soul. I don’t believe in restriction because it leads to a nasty cycle of guilt and binge eating. ( in my experience). I’m working out because it makes me feel good and I’ll let my body respond how it wants to. Whether that’s lose the rest of my baby weight, keep it on or build back muscle is fine with me as long as my Jaden can be fed and I have my self care time!
I’m in no rush. This is a lifestyle for me and even though there are days i wish I could do all the things I once did...I know will come back eventually. Time is always our best friend. We just cant make it our enemy. ♥️

I wasn’t going to mention anything because i struggle sharing my postpartum reality and what hasn’t “gone back” or still is different as I always get negative comments thinking I’m complaining about how i look regardless of the good intentions i want in the message. I never want to make women feel discouraged yet at the same time i also want to empower women as we are so incredibly strong and capable of so much. Any-who just a struggle I’m experiencing balancing this post partum journey as being transparent is so beautiful yet can be really hard! 🙏🏼♥️

Karina shares - "Becoming a mother has utterly shifted my perception of my body, and of my self as a whole. When I became pregnant with my first child, Thane, I went through a really intense period of reorganization of how I viewed my self and my life. Before that pregnancy, I always saw my life as temporary and optional. I was still struggling with active suicidality and self-harm at the time that I got pregnant. When I discovered that I was now hosting and growing another tiny human inside my own body, I started to have compassion and appreciation for my body in a way that I had never experienced before. I really let go of suicide as an option and started to care for myself in a brand new way. I saw my body as something so much more than a target for my abuses and self-punishment. I was really amazed every day at the resilience and beauty of my body as it grew through each of my pregnancies, and birthed and nourished my babies. I have so much appreciation for all that my body can do. I have so much appreciation for my body's ability to lift, carry, jump, dance, play, and often function on so very little sleep. My body is so much more than an object; it is something strong, miraculous, and sacred.

Hating myself never brought me any kind of peace. I hated, starved, and abused my body for years, and it never brought the justice or relief I was searching for. Parenthood has really taught me the power of compassion. Compassion changes everything, and self-compassion really needs to come first. I'm learning to treat myself with gentleness and love. I'm learning to fill my own cup first, so that I'm able to fill the cups of those around me.

Part of that compassion is forgiveness, and acknowledgment of my story and my truth. There is so much power in story-telling. My past is there and it exists, but I'm learning that it doesn't define me. My scars, my mistakes, and my history is all there, but it doesn't define me. My yesterday doesn't have the power to dictate my tomorrow."

So here's a truth... sometime (around puberty) I put myself into a box, defining my worth and my abilities in a certain way, unwittingly, but very seriously, limiting myself. In my subconscious mind, my body betrayed me (by .... growing), and so I slowly dropped out of all sports and things that would challenge me physically, instead focusing all my energy on other perceived strengths that I felt more comfortable with. Straight up, I didn't want to be (or be seen to be) the fat girl trying (and maybe failing). That thought pattern was/is hard to break. But it IS breakable, and life is so much richer outside that damn box. I can #SURF, ffs! I can be patient and wait for a wave, I can paddle out in front of it, and I can get to my feet and ride that gift 🧜 One day, I'll be a graceful and confident longboarder - I can dream it, I can do it. And so can you, my dears. So can you! Whatever your dream is 💜
