As I walked around one day, my mind involuntarily noticed this beautiful rose. I could have chosen to snap a photo and move on, but this is not what happened. I stopped, and just for a moment, studied its intricate beauty. The delicate petals, the blush pink, the drops of grace and elegance still left in its wilting life force. 💫I saw what I felt💫. And I was aware of the loving energy transmitted within my connection of this rose.

I chose to not disregard it. Because if I did, I wouldn’t have given myself the opportunity to buzz in gratitude. I would’ve gone about my day, living a mediocre existence in a neutral state of mind. Sometimes neutral is pleasing to me. But most times, I prefer to exist in a heightened state of joy. I only get there, and stay there, when I choose to be aware of my present state, see the beauty in the smallest details, feel the gratitude, and continue my day in that state of reverence.

That feeling is always inside me (and everyone) but it’s my awareness that activates it. This allows me to go throughout my day radiating love and respect and joy from the core of my being.

The external is just there to support the internal. Its up to you to be aware of its existence and act upon it. This is a truth I learned in the last 3 months of traveling and it has genuinely changed my life. Today, remember this image. Remember what it means. And go throughout your day being aware of your awareness. What did you focus on? What did you dwell on? Was there a missed opportunity to take a minute or two to appreciate the love and beauty around you? Or did you take that opportunity? Stay present today and be aware of what you’re aware of 🤗💫🙏🏼💕

The more we try to hold on to people and situations from the past, we limit our growth and prevent new energy from entering our lives. Think about this, you were okay before you met that person, you were fine before that thing happened to you, so why do you think you can't live without it now? Well, the thing about our mind is that once we experience something, our energy tunes into it. We can easily get consumed by it, when we're not aware that we can redirect our thoughts. What most people don't realize, is that you have the ability to reconnect, recreate, and re-energize ourselves to tune into the present, rather than being driven crazy by the past.
Newness:

As creatures of habit, we limit ourselves to the small scope of reality we know, when in fact our potential is endless. Each time you choose to be stuck in the past or allow your inner peace to shaken, you lose potential energy that you can use to make a change in your life today. Once we free up our energy from going towards negative thoughts, fear, or the past, we become open to new experiences and lose the idea of attachment. Life is meant to flow freely, so be open to change constantly.
It's your time:

It's time to get back in tune with yourself. Your mind, your thoughts and your feelings all belong to you. You choose every single day where you want to direct it. It's unfortunate that most choose to pour all that precious energy into their past; not realizing how much life has to offer in this moment. Taking back your power means being aware of where you stand in this vast universe. Know that you're not defined by one mistake. You’re not who you were. You’re not what people think about you. Stop limiting yourself. You deserve to be free.

I remember hanging out together one night at YoYo and then getting drunk in Leo’s back garden—being so aware of your hyper-intelligence, slight snarkiness as you were maybe trying to figure me out.
i remember being in the studio working on Atlantic Ocean, so in awe of your talent and multi instrumentalism, i couldn’t
possibly fathom what i could bring to the table. and then i took you to Sean’s house and got the hell out the way while two truly prodigious musicians hit the ground running.
i remember hearing Damian Jurado’s Maraqoba and being blown away by the utter beauty of it, marvelling at what a fine producer you were. and then hearing Foxygen’s record and being aware music was finally catching up to you. watching James and Patrick and Dan clue onto what an invaluable side man you were.
i saw that you were in hospitable and contributed to the gofundme page your misses had set up.
i thought very little of it, i was sure you’d be fine.
and last night at dinner, Seb told me you had passed.
i’ll miss your beautiful mind, incredible music and warm wonderful soul.

Once we choose to trust our intuition and perceptions, recognize that we aren’t crazy if we do that and we’re comfortable with being different —we understand true equality. Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) or body dysmorphia, is an anxiety disorder related to body image where a person spends a lot of time pinpointing & picking out perceived flaws in their appearance which cannot be seen by others or that appear very slight to others. BDD is closely related to OCD in that it is excessive & obsessive self-consciousness & the severity of it can vary for different people. Body Dysmorphia is very common but yet it is considered as a ‘hidden’ disorder as it is so rarely spoken about, so the accurate number for how many people on average who suffer from it is unknown

As a by product of the past, BDD is something I deal with. With BDD you only see what YOU see, so your thoughts are arguably irrational & created purely on the story created in your mind & the self chat you give yourself. Being aware of these thoughts is really important to getting out of that mindset, because if I am aware its happening, the more control I have over it. But with anything, sometimes, being aware just in itself can be really hard

So what else can help? Vocalising & talking. Talking is really important, how can anyone help if we don’t talk? How can we bring reassurance & support into our lives if we don’t open up & face what we are feeling & thinking? Vocalising our self chat, the things we say to ourselves about ourselves is really important but sometimes even harder than expressing just how we’re feeling. Imagine all the negative things we say about ourselves & then saying them out loud? Making it vocal makes it real & makes us more accountable for the things we say to ourselves. & imagine this, would you give the chat you give to yourself to your family/friends? Internalising how we feel gives it a platform for it to linger & grow & becomes something bigger.

Make effort to always critically analyse yourself. Self awareness is key. If I could recommend anything to anybody it would be: become self aware first. Before anything else. This means looking at yourself and your life from different perspectives. This means being aware of when you’re actually the bad person in a situation, or noticing when you’re not truly acting yourself but instead are conforming. We have to check our egos but also our full selves, our relationships and friendships, our habits, the way we talk to ourselves.

Breaking through conditioning is another necessary thing. This takes time, but being aware enough to see what you need to change is the first step. To grow into exactly who we need to be for this time and planet, means we have to find what authentically feels right for us. This means uncomfortable change, and a lot of critical thinking. For me this means I’m not always the nice person, I’m not going to be one to stroke anyone’s ego. I’m here to challenge people, to make people change or step up or grow into a stronger person. And I know this now. After trying to “‘make” myself kinder and nicer, I realised that’s not always me. I am so loving, passionate and truly kind and caring to everyone in my immediate life. But my personality is strong, witty, and I’m very full of opinions. I know that I won’t “appeal” to everyone, but that’s the point. This is a part of what I’m saying. You don’t need to give a fuck about who likes you, or what your parents think of your life or your hair cut or your body. Or what strangers on the internet have to say about you. You have to sit down and get comfortable with the beautiful AND ugly parts of yourself and figure out which are acts and which are authentic parts of you.

While this might be the light side of life that you see, I'm also always aware of its dark side & want to remind you all to be too.

The light & dark sides of life and of ourselves are interdependently blended. You cannot have light if you do not have darkness, and you cannot have darkness if you do not have light. Yet one is not more important than the other, it's like they express wholeness; within light, you always find darkness, and within darkness you can always find light.

We are just used to hiding the dark side, and more often than not, we don't even talk or think about it. When we were kids, almost all of us were scared of the dark, because the darkness was full of unknown things. Then when we switched the lights on, we learned that the things weren't scary, & not even unknown. Just a natural part of the environment.

Whether we want it or not, the darkness has a life of its own & thrives even if we choose not to acknowledge it. But if you don't distinct these sides from each other, and go into the darkness, you might find the space in which you can begin to uncover & discover what is there for you from which to create.

Of course, superficiality & ignoring it would be easier, but through denial you fail to see that in darkness also lies our strengths & opportunities. Being aware of both the "good" light side, and the "bad" dark side of life and ourselves, is like shedding light on the shadowy places, or going into soil or dirt where things grow, and giving yourself a chance to heal & transform. If you repress the darkest corners of your soul, the more you run the risk of facing disorder in your personality. This can result anxiety, jealousy, intentionally failing in relationships, hateful thoughts about yourself & others etc. The darkness is like a hidden part that influences our choices more than we are aware, and if you don't explore it further, it keeps you from being the best version of yourself.💫

But these very things hinder us from fully blooming blissfully towards the sun and the sky in the ways that we are meant to!!! 🌱🌞💐🌿 That we’ve been born to do! That, through these experiences, we’ve been led to learn from and grow from! 🙏 down to the bottom of it, insecurities and self-doubts and fears are not a part of your truest essence, they’re not apart of your truest core and your pure soul. They’re a result of a societally conditioned mind that’s embedded so deeply from our entire upbringing, BUT (👏👏) we can regain our own personal power in many ways, such as by being aware of our intrinsic thought patterns and our internal dialogue and replacing them with positive thoughts, mantras, reassurances, conclusions. To train our thoughts. To observe our responses and feelings. To re-set the unhealthy (borderline maniacal) conditioning that’s been molded in our minds. To take back our power so that we can LOVE the bright blessings that we are! It takes time, but it is a process that changes, enhances, and transforms lives. ✨

Add to this the commercialization of wellness and thinking that sharing inspirational memes is working on ourselves. Writing about wellness is not the work. Doing Facebook lives is not the work. Posting on Instagram is not the work. The work is different for everyone and I can’t tell you what that looks like for you. Also it changes depending on what you want to work on. Here’s some work for me. A daily hard look at myself, and actions. Not from a judgement place but more from a curious place. Distance and wonder. Acknowledging my feels and where they are coming from. Having a space to process, with a therapist, life coach, or partner. Maybe friends. Checking my ego. Shutting the fuck up sometimes. Meditation. Looking inward. Being aware of my intentions. A daily letting go of things I need to let go of. Looking at my resistances and triggers and exploring where they are coming from. My studies. Reading and writing. Practicing mindfulness. Gratitude. Acceptance. And kindness. Being honest with myself. And if I’m not, exploring why. Listening to the universe.

Have you ever been humbled by nature? Have you ever walked through a field of tulips or watched a sunset and been reminded how incredibly awesome God is and how small you are by comparison?

It’s humbling.

The Hebrew word “anavah” is what we translate as “humility”, but the literal definition of “anavah” is to occupy your God-given space in the world—to not overestimate yourself or your abilities, but to not underestimate them either. But we live in a world of likes, retweets, followers, fans, and favorites, and it’s easy to determine our self-worth based on how many—or how few—of these we have. When we underestimate our worth or ourselves, that is not anavah. It is not humility. Growing up, I was taught that humility was thinking less of yourself—taking up the smallest possible space. But avanah is about being aware of and comfortable with your place. When we do this, we don’t take up so much space that it squeezes others out, and we don’t take up so little space that our responsibilities fall to others.

Even many of our national leaders model a lifestyle based on belittling people who have a different view, while bragging about themselves and their own achievements. This is not “anavah” … this is not being biblically humble.

What if, just for today, you resolved to serve others by simply taking up the space God has given you to occupy? Nothing more, nothing less.

I truly believe health and fitness is the start of any change journey. The moment you start working on yourself - building self esteem, increasing endorphins, sleeping better, drinking more water, paying attention to what you eat and being aware of your surroundings, it creates a balanced alignment - it gives you the motivation to work harder, to be better - to always feel good. It changes your energy which creates a ripple effect to those around you. And in turn reflects in your career, home life and personal relationships. There’s nothing better than feeling content with your life and yourself. Of corse life throws us curveballs - yes, how boring it would be if we never overcame obstacles or made wrong decisions, these moments shape our being and were created for us for some reason that may not make sense at the time. We don’t need to understand everything in life, nor should we want too. We also don’t need to understand other people and the things they do - it’s all in our perception and our reactions to things that go on in our lives. There's so much talk these days about disconnecting, meditating, and making space for ourselves, but mindfulness doesn't merely happen in solitude while at rest. It can be carried into our interactions with others and throughout all moments of our lives.

To me, mindfulness is simply awareness - being aware of the thoughts that run through our minds. Recognizing that it's our thoughts that create our feelings and those feelings determine our outcomes. Our feelings can lead us into action or away from it.

Which thoughts do we latch onto, which ones will we allow to carry more weight, which ones do we believe? How are they impacting our lives?

I first found mindfulness through sport - through my desire to continue in pursuit of my skiing goals despite odds being stacked against me. Mindfulness has allowed me to continue running, skiing, hiking & biking after 9 knee surgeries. It has allowed me to enjoy activities in more profound ways. To respect my body with its limitations.

When our thoughts are scattered in several directions at once and we are no longer conscious of what we are doing or why, it is time to center ourselves. Centering ourselves is a way of coming to terms with all the different energies within us and drawing them back into ourselves.
Centering yourself means that you are working from or being aware of the core of your being in the solar plexus area of your body. At first it may not make sense, but as you progress you will understand what this feels like. We naturally know how to center ourselves when we take a deep breath, for example, before making a big announcement or doing something big.
Another way to center ourselves is to sit down and engage in breath meditation. We can start by simply getting into a comfortable upright position and noticing as our breath enters and leaves our bodies. Our breath flows into our center and out from our center, and this process can serve as a template for all of our interactions in the world.

My brothers and sisters in the health industry have the highest rates of suicide, so we gotta take care of one another. For myself I’m in touch with a lot of my emotions and analytical of my situation. Although you may see someone on here with a big smile, maybe you see a young fit guy. I am those things, but also I am someone who has a tough job facing a lot of situations which can be very sad, I’m a guy who lived over 1000km away from his family (and you know how important that is to me), I have moved about 15 times in the past 4.5 years, was very financially stressed as a medical student, can have long work hours and not really knowing anyone in the area I live that well. Too often we see only the positives of other people’s lives without realizing that actually we all go through struggles. Being aware that others have struggles and being able to be conscious of your own risk factors makes it easier to prevent or deal with mental health. Your lifestyle is dynamic, it does not stay still. It’s a careful balancing act, and when one factor of your life goes off, well you really want to try and counteract it with positively changing something else. Be conscious of hard times, I know for myself, going into exam periods (I know still having exams even when you are working) I off set things like cooking and cleaning, because these just are just extra stresses on top of an already stressed doctor. I know something like that isn’t viable for most, but think about something you can do for your situation. This offset has been a major reason why this year I haven’t posted much, because preventing things like depression has been a major thing this year which I’m happy I’ve done and now am at a place where all those factors such as moving, new work, change in friendships and work situations are very stable and at the best possible place, but that took time. For now though I’m happy to get back to what I enjoy like this and exercise more. So in the end, be aware of your own emotions, we in touch with them, balance them, and look out for eachother

I just started up an 8 week course called Strong Coach, run by @mike_bledsoe and in the first lecture I really connected with this idea of attention as the most valuable resource. We are always told time is most valuable, which definitely has truth. But we can perceive time differently, some days may feel like 10 weeks some fly by in an hour. Being aware of your attention, is a constant practice, and checking in and seeing what your truly focusing on gives you the ability to shift your mindset to where you’d like it to go. If you’re not even aware then you have no chance. I was surprised to see how I’m still in my old habit of a Crossfit athlete and how much attention I put on training and eating. Now that I’m aware I can now start shifting my priorities. Daily meditation helps in this pursuit 100%. Where is your attention? You’ve practiced it! Mindful eating teaches us to be AWARE and IN TUNE with our thoughts and feelings about food- mentally and physically. Truth is, you practice this every day but you are not AWARE you do this, and you don’t channel those thoughts to take action regarding food and food choices! Mindful eating is a great tool to practice when it comes to making progress with our nutrition goals. This doesn’t have to be something that consumes your mind all the time but just being aware of your feelings before, during, and/or after you eat- Even jotting down some notes of why you just consumed an entire bag of chips while watching a tv show or why that apple you ate gave you some good clean energy.. it’s simple, just being aware is the first step to being able to make small changes that turn into long term habits 💁🏼‍♀️

I want you to celebrate your journey even if it wasn't perfect. Maybe you did one day or 5 days or all 7. Perhaps the weekend was where you had the most difficulty. What's most important is that you became aware of your sugar intake.

So how did I do? In the last two weeks I lost 6 lbs. Week one was being aware of my sugar intake. By being aware I was more conscious of what I ate and how much. Week two I was very focused on avoiding sugar. To be clear, I avoided refined sugar, fruits high in sugar, no honey dates or maple syrup, and carbs that had no nutrional value (chips). I still had sweet potatoes, rice, rice cakes and crackers. But I counted the sugar for my daily total of 8-10 teaspoons. There is natural sugar in food so I watched that.

Was it hard...not really. Writing all the tips for you allowed me to realize I had many of the tools I needed. But I needed to use them. The biggest blessing was having all of you as part of the journey.

For me, I'll be doing another week of sugar free. I feel great. My heartburn has gone away. My stomach is less bloated. My clothes feel less tight. I still have a journey to my goal weight. It's one day at a time. Small successes make for a self love wellness journey.

So if you became aware of your sugar intake and made modifications to what you ate, celebrate that. It's step one. Maybe this week you will get to 7 days or 5 days. Or get through the weekend.

My brother Paul spent the night in ICU at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston last night after he was admitted for a life threatening asthma attack. He was and is struggling for breath, life’s most primal gift. It is my second Christmas alone in recent years, but my heart is full as I send love and healing and goodness to my brother Paul. If you know him, even if you don’t, please keep him in your thoughts. While many awake on Christmas morning with all the joy and merriment of the season,many too have a very different experience... I try and practice mindfulness during these times. Being aware of what is happening without wishing it were any different. Enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will), being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t). I want to point out that yes, I’m still lean, I’m just not as lean as I was years ago but I don’t feel any kind of loss around that—I actually PREFER how my body looks now. But when I hear other people talk about not being as lean anymore, it sometimes sounds like a bit of an apology, like “yeah I’m not as lean BUT I feel stronger now, I feel healthier, I have more energy, I can eat out without feeling anxious etc.“

…and yay to all of those things, because that is definitely a massive part of why I honoured my decision years back to stop pursuing leanness and focus on health, strength, and enjoying my training, but it’s also ok to talk about it from an aesthetic perspective, that can also be part of why a person chooses to change (or not change) their body — even when that means NOT being as lean. •
But it’s like we’re almost not allowed to feel that way as females, to pursue a desire to be bigger or build more muscle (which pretty much means not being as lean), or we don’t ever stop to ask ourselves what we really think or feel because our minds get hijacked by other people’s judgements, opinions and preferences. •
But we’re up against it because our opinions are inextricably shaped by our past experiences and by the opinions of others— living in a society, there is no escaping that. Thus, our beliefs around our appearance are partly formed by outside influences, ‘reference legs’ as @tonyrobbins would call them. We have all these reference legs to support that we look ‘better’ leaner. Why? Because people always praise leanness and weight-loss that’s why. But these are not the only options available to us. •
When we sift through the bullshit of other people’s opinions and pervasive beliefs of how we ‘should’ and ‘shouldn’t’ look, to find space for our own, we all have such diverse ideas on aesthetics and what we like for ourselves, which is what makes us all interesting AF.

And it’s about being aware that we all have different preferences when it comes to our own bodies, and that we RESPECT that—(cont. below👇)

I don’t need a doctor to tell me I’m crazy, my Mom has been telling me I’m nuts my whole life but that’s normal to me. I’m different. I’m dumb at times but I’m aware my actions have consequences. My actions have given me the greatest experiences with amazing people in places all around the world and have also nearly killed me. To me, it’s about recognizing those times and being aware and growing from all situations both good and bad.

Here are some photos and videos from this time in my life. Some are from the hospital, some are when I visited the crash site to further understand why this happened, some are kids I got to speak arrange by officer friend Jordan who helped me prank the Chainsmokers on my TV show, and some are my thoughts when I write in my journal. Take all with a grain of salt and just know I’m trying to continue to grow and get the most out of each situation I put myself in. It’s not a mistake if you can accept it and learn from it. Know you’re not alone with your feelings. I’m just a transparent person about some things because I feel like it’s what I’m called to do.

Being aware does nothing to change the material conditions we experience. I’ve had the most incredibly awful experience with psychiatric professionals and services both in Scotland and in England and it’s almost as if people like me are an inconvenience. Simply being “aware” and encouraging people to talk isn’t enough. We’re already talking. Nobody is listening. I’ve spent most of my adolescence chronically suicidal and my experience w professionals has only made it worse. Mental health awareness doesn’t change the realities we live, it doesn’t change the structural ableism that employers and educational institutions and whatever else embed themselves in. It doesn’t change the fact that the government have sanctioned countless chronically mentally ill folks, or the ever increasing suicides that occur every day. Stop asking people to talk and start demanding the change and specialist services we desperately need. Stop using ableist language and stop pretending to care on these one off faux “awareness” weeks when you routinely ignore people who need help & can’t recognise that action is what saves lives. Talking is good, but what good is it when the services you need aren’t there?

My mind is constantly being bombarded with new thoughts, ideas and creative impulses. The world is non-stop and chaotic from the minute I shut my eyes to the moment I wake up. I think that has caused a lot of impatience in all of us, an inability to remain still. Mindfulness is the simplest task of just being aware of yourself in that very moment. What are you doing? How do you feel? What are the noises you hear around you, do you feel anything against your skin? If so, what is pressing against you? A person, a bracelet, your seatbelt? It can seems so silly but these are things we stop asking ourselves in our day to day. It is calming to silence all the other noises and to focus on your own present. Instead of grabbing your phone when you’re standing in line, take a moment to notice your breathing - your posture, how’re you standing? Check in with yourself, instead of your phone.
It is these moments i have noticed that have helped me remember the smaller things. For example, the moments I’ve put something down and have to go looking for it later. I am remembering sooner just from being aware of my own present and examining my actions more frequently. Before, I was placing things down while checking my phone and quickly forgetting where I was putting things or placing objects in places they didn’t belong. My physical and mental world is slowly becoming more organized and less chaotic. And this simple basic task of mindfulness is one of the things helping me the most.

That concept of love is very one-dimensional for me. It sets up the idea of love as something based more on receiving, concentrating only on the good and punishing if it isnt as we imagined or it doesnt suit our expectations. For me, love can be expressed in many ways, far beyond just giving and being submissive to whoever "owns our heart". It's about interraction, quirkiness, challenging and questioning ourselves, valuing our independence and thrill for adventure. The love we get from dogs is something we can easily understand, it's simple and straight up. It's wonderful, and they will be by our side no matter what happens or how we treat them. Yet, in reality, love, relationships and social interactions get way more complex and mysterious. How we treat others, what we give and take back should be mutually satisfying and equally beneficial. Understanding cats means being aware of different ways to express love and affection, to accept each other at our best and worst times, to allow freedom of expression and go beyond simple constructs of love being submissive and all-giving. That being said, i love and enjoy love both cats and dogs, what about you? 💕😊

Well, I’m not sure that we can be mature in every situation that presents itself to us because we are always growing and learning as human beings, and I’m pretty sure that all of us have been guilty of at least some of these negative behaviors at least once in our lives. That being said, by considering these 15 tell-tale signs, perhaps we can be more aware of the interludes in which our whiny, adolescent self rears its immature head... 1. Realizing how much you don’t know.

2. Listening more and talking less.

3. Being aware and considerate of others as opposed to being self-absorbed, self-centered, and inconsiderate.

4. Not taking everything personally, getting easily offended, or feeling the need to defend, prove, or make excuses for yourself.

5. Being grateful and gracious, not complaining.

6. Taking responsibility for your own health and happiness, not relying on others to “fix” you or placing blame for your circumstances.

7. Having forgiveness and compassion for yourself and others.

8. Being calm and peaceful, not desperate, frantic, or irrational.

9. Showing flexibility and openness as opposed to resisting, controlling, or being unreasonable.

10. Helping yourself, not just expecting others to do it for you out of a sense of entitlement.

11. Doing good deeds even when there is nothing in it for you other than knowing you helped, being selfless.

Photographs of beautiful asanas with perfect angles are just saying " beautiful yoga asanas". The person doing it can for example be over flexible, a dancer, acrobat or simply completely fixated on one position. Everyone now has access to cameras (mobile phones) which are able to take pictures several times a second, if you take enough, sooner or later one will look great regardless of your skill level within yoga. So don't get overwhelmed by it. Get inspired yes but not worried that you won't be able to do it because of your flexibility or strength. Yoga is about being aware. Where your mind, your emotions, your body, your heart and most importantly where your ego is. And the best way to get there is being aware of where you are in the moment you find yourself.

I think that it’s really important to be aware of the various ways we limit ourselves on a daily basis. Something I’m cognizant of, which I do to limit myself, is self-sabatoge. It’s been engrained in me from the beginning of development that I don’t deserve nice things, happiness, or love. From never knowing my biological father to growing up extremely poor, everything in my environment told me I was not worth it and I simply would never be like other people. ✨
Now logically since then, I have to come to know that I can continue to succeed in my career and buy myself those nice things, I can create my own happiness doing things I love, and I do deserve love from others simply because I have so much love to give!✨
But some things stay subconscious and you may not even notice how your subconscious feelings affect your actions. For example, I tend to isolate myself and push away people that love me because of a deep rooted guilt that I don’t deserve it. I also somehow find a way to disrupt my happiness when I’m feelin’ good. ✨
It’s a work in progress, like everything, and being aware is the biggest step. ✨
If we see our limits, we can surpass them.

With all my astrology readings I do I have everyone take the element survey before to see how balanced the elements are. This is just a good beginning way to see if one element is way stronger than the others or what areas to focus on.

Water being our emotions our ability to feel things to listen to our gut and get guidance from that place.
Air being our ability to communicate to share our thoughts to ask questions to verbalize things.
Fire our life force our vitality our passion for life our will to be here and get excited about what we’re doing.
Earth is taking care of the practical matters..bills, insurance car keeping things clean and organized tending to the practical matters of life.

Being aware of which element we are low on and what areas of life we need to focus on based on our chart and how it shows up for us in this life. Just because you’re a Taurus or have 6 planets in earth doesn’t mean that it will show up that way for you in life and that you love taking care of practical matters. So that’s why it’s nice to take the survey and then to also look at your chart and see how much each element shows up for you to get clues as to what areas to work on to bring everything into a better alignment.. always balancing everything says the libra.

I’ll try and share that quiz.. if you’re interested in taking it. My teacher @debrasilverman_astrology created it.. you may be able to find it online.. or stay tuned if you’re interested in seeing how balanced each element is for you.

For me I have two planets in water but other strong indicators in my chart that point atttt water.. like houses/planets adding to that energy. Knowing I have strong water and low fire and earth I know what I need to focus on and knowing Saturn is in earth that it’s really my life lesson to do these practical things no matter how much I want to or not.. there is medicine there.. in doing what doesn’t come natural but is essential for a balanced life ✌🏾❤️

I already know it’s one of my keys to being aware and inspired . Not sure why the best things for you are sometimes the hardest things to do . Just gonna start and make it a habit again . Sure It’s become harder but it’s not impossible. Sure I’m writing lots of songs in the studio but that doesn’t count because private writing is super important for self awareness - just have to be less selective about where I write and when I do get a moment- not to waste it on the wrong people, or with bs drama. in all honesty a little less tv and following social media wouldn’t hurt - those are real unconscious time eaters . It’s easy to get into a habit of thinking I don’t have time to write , or meditate or excercise. Especially with a baby it’s super hard to get self time, mamas and papas can I get an amen ! I do feel tho that if I have proper respect for my own time then others around will learn to too and I will start to remember that choosing to be aware may be better for me than switching off when I get a moment alone .

Taking a minute after class to explore movement. Using meditation music and practicing to be as mindful as possible with each transition. Fighting the heat and the sliding also provides an interesting challenge. Trying to keep some sort of resemblance of a flow and moving one body part at a time to allow for new transitions to be found. It’s also a great challenge to engage all of your muscles with great control and when you do slide, not break your concentration and flow but to adapt and find a new pathway to not look like you are slowly falling to your death! Also working at half speed allows for the mind to think differently about which move or transition will come next. This is a 60 sec clip of a 3 and a half minute mindful moving practice. Full length video is on my YouTube channel, Heidi Coker. It might put some of you to sleep... but this is my real life practice. Not flashy, but genuine. As in pole, as in life... to be aware, present, not fight to resist but find the flow, even when unexpected.

I remember being aware in such a moment, as I watched His glory begin to physically manifest in a room, that I was being ruined. Ruined for the ordinary. Ruined for anything less than what I was tasting and experiencing in that moment. It was as if I was watching the road back to my “normal” existence close behind me forever.. I realized there was no “unseeing” or “unknowing” that moment. I was being permanently wrecked and there would be no “recovery”; no returning to the life I knew before. That moment in His glory changed me forever. His glory will do that. One moment in His glory will ruin a thousand moments elsewhere. One moment in His glory accomplishes more than a thousand moments elsewhere. It will create a hunger in you that nothing on this earth can satisfy; an aching in your spirit to know Him, to see Him, to behold His glory. The typical church program is great but no longer satisfies.. the weekly preach is inspiring, but no longer satisfies.. the 30 min, 5 song worship set is sweet but doesn’t even take the edge off your appetite.. You begin to realize there’s just so much MORE. More of Him to know and experience than you ever thought possible this side of heaven..more than anyone told you you could expect. The more of Him you see, the more gloriously “imprisoned” you become to this endless pursuit -to know Him, to truly taste and see for yourself, and to make Him known. 1. Use an actual map. Get an atlas for whatever state you are roaming around in. Use it to find backroads, forest service roads, BLM land (hello free dispersed camping). We stay away from National Parks and love National Forests.

2. Put your head on a swivel. I love taking photos and stories while we are out with the boys exploring, but there is so much wildlife we need to be aware of and be respectful of. We have better eye sight than pups, so just paying attention and being aware of your surroundings can keep a sketchy situation from happening. Look out for your doggos AND the wildlife.
_
3. Pack only what you need! And keep it organized. We’ve taken more trips than I can count and when I am unloading all the gear and see something I took and never used, it is not allowed on the next trip. Also in emergency situations, you know where everything is. Burned hand from the camp stove? Boom, go to the exact spot where the medical kit is always stored. Grumbling stomach? Boom, you know where the oreos are.

4. Hopefully you are going somewhere that cell service can’t reach. Put some music/books/podcasts offline. We love to be disconnected, but it is still really cool to listen to a podcast about aliens while sleeping in the middle of Alaska. Super good idea. Not scary at all.

5. Make your dog’s comfort a priority. Put all your gear in the Showcase 20. Strap anything down that could move and hit them. Give them as much space as possible, stop every couple of hours for water and bathroom breaks.

6. Wet wipes for yo face. Rubber boots for your feets. Super glue for damaged paw pads. And a roll of those blue shop paper towels.

Being aware of what’s going online can be a great advantage when in business or when you’re seeking motivation from people that have accomplished great things. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not everyone online is seeking validation. It could be a form of self expression, way of life or just fun.
Being online helps you come across different perspectives and different cultures , people etc etc.

I think this underlying, always-present feeling is what keeps me in this bubble of obscurity with only a few who relate to me. I want more than anything to be at ease, to be relieved with the feeling that it’s all okay. I haven’t felt the feeling of “it’s all okay” since before my late mother became sick in 2006. I’ve felt like a forced adult since then and because it happened soon for me and in a chaotic way, it’s been a process finding my grounding in life. I turned inward, focusing on healing generational karmic wounds, or old programming as I loosely worded it in my awareness at the time. I was opening myself up and exploring spirituality and so much information was let go of but much was also gained through this time period. The news of our decaying environment suddenly felt heavy on my being like I had never felt it before. It’s weird to think that we can be living in a decaying earth and not really know the severity of it until we begin to really focus on it. This truth I think may be what keeps me in obscurity. I find it hard to “just be happy and enjoy what unfolds” if what is unfolding is adding to the problems. I fear that if I let go and just follow the lead of others, who will keep the awareness of accountability in the air?
Even if nothing is said, I weirdly still feel that being aware is a role in and of itself. When others are enjoying a bbq, all I can see is the trash that will be left behind. And it’s not in an anal, overly obsessive energy... it’s in a subtle, quiet knowing in the back of my mind. It’s not as though all of my thoughts are on the trash, but it’s more like a nauseating stench is in the air which I keep trying to ignore but cannot. I even put a hankie over my nose and start up conversation with people but I can’t help but smell the smell with each inhale. (Continued below)

Going to France this past June and spending time with family and friends helped me disconnect from social media and be more present in the moment. To be honest, it felt so good that I kept pushing the time to post here again. I have so many great memories from the vacation in France and feel a sense of fulfilment. I had plenty of occasions where I could have spent much more time taking pictures or sharing what I'm doing in social media instead of living them at their fullest. Of course, I took few snaps now and then but it was mostly for my personal memory. It feels good to simply enjoy food and great company without obsessing about the best shot to take. That being said I totally understand that by choosing to blog I implicitly choose to be on social media. You can't really do one without the other. But where is the limit? It seems to me that we can easily slip into the social media vicious cycle way of life and forget that truly experiencing something, truly connecting with someone at a level that is much more fulfilling than getting likes and comments can only be done by being aware and being in the present without distraction, interruption or screens. #momblogger #slowliving #liveauthentically

Finding calmness in a chaotic world. I remember a few years ago, my life was chaotic. I was unemployed, going through a divorce and facing being nearly homeless. I was a hot mess. But I needed to rehab my soul, find stillness and just be. Be me. I always found that going out into nature was very ... Finding calmness in a chaotic world. I remember a few years ago, my life was chaotic. I was unemployed, going through a divorce and facing being nearly homeless. I was a hot mess. But I needed to rehab my soul, find stillness and just be. Be me. I always found that going out into nature was very healing for me. Hearing the sound of the wind on the trees, the smell of the Texas cedar trees and feeling my dog close as we hiked. We are all animals and are part of nature, it’s only natural to connect with her.


There were times that I couldn’t get out into nature as I lived in the city of Downtown Dallas. But I had a small part of nature right next to me in my dogs. They were the closest thing to nature in a chaotic world. Their presence alone was all I needed at that time to find stillness, peace, love and harmony. My dogs have taught me so much about our connection to a deeper world of being present, being aware and making change from the inside out. I couldn’t change the world around me, I could only change how it made me feel. My situation made me feel depressed, but as I looked at my dogs, they weren’t worried, so why should I be? This is where I was able to change my mindset to do better for myself. I was getting confidence thanks to my dogs. It was my connection to the dogs that told me, “You can do this.” •

If you’re going through a chaotic situation, find the stillness and calmness within you. And if you surrender to the circumstances, you’ll hear what you need and it’ll guide you. And if you need help, there’s probably a dog there to help you live in that moment.

I remember telling her urgently that there was a voice in my head!! I also remember asking her- how do I know which is me and which is the voice?
I don’t remember her answer. But I recall the feeling of being lovingly cherished and respected. I know my mom listened deeply to me, learned from our conversations and encouraged my questions.
I still wonder sometimes, how do I know which is the real me?
The ego can take many identities. You lose one form and it cleverly latches on to another, trickier disguise.
One way to know is when you become aware that you were not aware. Or you become aware of judgmental thoughts- such as I am right and they are wrong, I need more, I am not enough...This is not the true self speaking but the false and transient identity- ego.
When I know who I am, I can walk and move, speak and extend myself with love. The true self responds, forgives, listens deeply and is joyful in the aliveness of the present moment. Every time we make a choice to align with this truth and with love, we allow more people access to their insight and to collective liberation.

It’s a journey with no end goal. Just like you don’t become fit and stay fit you don’t just become self aware and then live a successful and happy life. .

You have control over very little in your life but you do have control over how you react. Bad things can happen to you, people can treat you poorly, sometimes you’re just unlucky. But as long as you continue to dig in and work on yourself you will always find worth within yourself and outside of any people or circumstances. .

Make sure you’re continuously searching and point the finger back to you. Your dad, mom, husband, sister isn’t to blame. Even if you don’t agree with me on that you can’t change them but you can change you and that’s you’re ticket to happiness and success. ❤️

One of the practices taught on the mindfulness meditation course I’m doing at the moment is to try and bring awareness to day to day activities, building toward bringing awareness to everything you do...or the majority of what you do at least! The main activity I have tried to apply this to is walking to work each morning. To bring awareness to the movements of the body as I’m walking, the sensations, feelings and thoughts that arise as I walk. Then to be aware of my surroundings, the sounds, sights, smells that I come across. It’s made me realise that I take the pleasure of being able to walk for granted, my posture is not currently great at all, and I’ve been missing out on so many moments each time I’ve let my mind walk me to work on autopilot. I now notice a young woman and her dog playing together in the park each morning, completely buzzing with energy off of each other, I hear the laughter of the kids in the school playground that I pass, I smell the amazing food at the Italian bakery on Bermondsey street. All these things make me smile each morning and bring something positive to my day. Awareness is adding life to my experience of the world, whereas before walking to work would just be something I did to get to work with no awareness or appreciation of what was going on. Just a mind full of un-useful thoughts. Walking with my eyes only open to guide me to where I need to be, but not actually seeing anything. I want to live life, to experience and see everything, to know that I’m purposefully doing all I can to get everything I can out of being alive. To feel that rush of energy from just being alive and here experiencing the world. I’m thankful every morning that my body allows me to walk, it’s an amazing privilege. I know that life can be tough and there’s not always only good things to be aware of. But why make life harder than it needs to be by missing out on being aware of and fully appreciating all the good things there are. The teacher taught us that there are 1000’s of moments in a day and the average person maybe only experiences something like 5 of them. That’s a lot of life missed out on, and I don’t intend to keep missing out on all of that!

So many of us live our lives in the pursuit of more. More material things or more things that we think will make us happy. More money, more cars, more work, more projects, more likes, more followers, more recognition, more clothes, more friends and parties, more more more. I’m trying a new thing. ... So many of us live our lives in the pursuit of more. More material things or more things that we think will make us happy. More money, more cars, more work, more projects, more likes, more followers, more recognition, more clothes, more friends and parties, more more more. I’m trying a new thing. I say it’s new because believe me I’ve been living a life collecting a bunch of “stuff.” But I realized that it’s when we have less that we can focus on the more important things - like spending quality time with family, learning something to make ourselves better people or being better and realer friends to those that matter. Yes, I know I get sponsored or endorsements so I’m lucky. But I’m going to try this new thing where I’m only going to buy things that I truly really need. I’ll only endorse products, (handmade) creations by entrepreneurs and companies that I believe in, I admire or that believe and encourage me and my fellow women (I’ve been doing this but will be much more choosy now). If I’ve got a double of something, I will and have been giving it to someone who I know needs it or will use it - there are a lot of people that I can share my blessings with here in Siargao. I’ll know that it’s not in the number of people that we know - but the quality of genuine friendships that will be there for you when shit hits the fan or when things don’t work out - that count. I want to give gifts of experience, of time, of honesty and of love. Hopefully this way I get to live my life not in the pursuit of more to make me happy - but in the pursuit of being thankful, of being aware and exactly in the moment, and of being absolutely completely happily alive. ❤️
