Today I want to show my gratitude for growing up in the country and living in small country towns of Colorado ♥️ it’s there I learned to be independent, a self starter, a Jill or all trades, from sewing to raising animals and then from fixing cars to building houses....an lifetime of experiences in just the beginning!! Can I get a holler from all the country girls in the house?!!!!

READ👉🏼 #HardRightEasyLeft - When I hear of someone doubting my future.... you clearly have no idea what I've risen from, what I'm capable of. I've always delivered the finish on a different timeline... If you are not Dan or Connor... don't expect me to perform to your expectations... (heck, half the time... I fail daily at theirs...). NoONE else gets that privilege.... especially when you say one thing... yet prove the opposite. You don't need to fill the awkward silence with empty words. I'll respect honesty... and my BS meter is #OnPoint.
I perform to my own... As a tree does throughout time... I bend, but don't break. Put everything I have into my effort. My roots run deep, and remain grounded through the hard lessons... Shortcuts aren't an option. I've learned through my own mistakes, to see the outcome... not just the instant result.
Listen, When you hear the doubts of others, remember it's empty noise and wasted energy. Don't let it rent space in your head. If you're screwed up fix it... and press on. If their opinion is narrow minded... that isn't your problem.

Confident people don't tear others down... Genuine people celebrate true success... So take note and value those who help you through the struggle and encourage you during the lows. Those are your champions.

Everything in this life has an expiration date.
Choose your time wisely... you can't bring it back.
Never quit, beat the odds and change the process... Do not become so blinded by the picture in front of you, you fail to see beyond the frame.
Don't do fake, don't give fluff. A spade is a spade, no matter what direction it points.
Stay your course... Grind through your lows... and believe truth and moral fortitude will have your back always. The timing may not seem right... but I promise... in the end... will always prevail.
Right is Right... every day of the week.
Always has been... always will be... #OnlyMomentsInTime #SpendItWisely #NeverCompromise #RightIsRight

Well how about posting your post in the middle of the night because you forgot to the day before? Does that count?? It’s 4am and I just woke up in the middle of the night and remembered I forgot something!!! So here is your middle of the night catch up from me :) I also completely spaced out a private yoga session I had last night. Perhaps that something new would be using my calendar better!!! .
And this one I am pretty good at!!! The only things I have a hard time forgiving myself for are things I didn’t do when I had the chance. And the only reason I have a hard time forgiving myself is because I can’t fix or change it. So I choose to put my energy where I can make sure to not weigh myself down with similar burdens in the future. I say I love you more, I say thank you more, I travel more, I give more, I always stop and smell the flowers (literally and figuratively). I have forgiven myself by being better at valuing everything in life more than I did yesterday.

My name is Mommy on these drives the sand and brush the end of winter we pass. You in the rearview double buckled back center my love.” This summer, we selected 6 #poems by female poets working in the United States and asked photographers to let the words inspire them. Turn your volume up to hear Layli Long Soldier read her poem “Edge.” (Swipe to the 2nd photo to hear the 2nd half.) ✨The poem reminded the Maine-based photographer @cig_harvey of the everyday — “an elevated everyday,” she writes. “As if Layli Long Soldier took all my daily car rides with my daughter Scout and distilled them into 9 lines. In our cars we are our own planets. I ask questions. She says things. I search the rearview mirror for gestures and expressions.” To take these photos, @cig_harvey borrowed vintage cars and trucks from friends and used the fields at a neighbor’s farm as roads. “The images are about that sensation of ingesting the wind and time passing,” she writes. Swipe left, then visit the link in our profile to see more photos inspired by #poetry. Audio recording by Naomi Gingold.

Monday July 2nd
Not much has happened between then and now
Writing to my neglected second half and an inward way of failure to show up at all
Flighty painless words coated in disappearing ink
And marvelously so
How we break at each bend of freckled light against tree bark happening half empty eyes and eyes again at me
At dawn
At time
At age of all things beginning
This is my most current me
And I still wont remember next time

Spent part of the holiday break roaming the country side in search of a bald eagle. I've only seen two or three out in the wild, and it was always just a glimpse. I heard stories of a handful of eagles sitting, watching, hunting and nesting along the Arkansas River, so I picked up a variety of maps and did some research.
I thought this might be a fun new holiday tradition, so I created an eagle journal, jotted down notes and sketched out some maps. After a few weeks of this, I set out with my trusty camera, not knowing that I had been a little too naive about the whole deal. It turns out, eagles don't just hang out waiting for you to take their portrait.
I spent three hours systematically covering every quadrant of my AO. Having not seen an eagle by this point, not even a trace, my enthusiasm started to wane. The weather started to deteriorate as well; rain and photography don't mix. I decided to look around one more bend before calling it a day. Nothing. I felt like I was on a fool's errand, what was I thinking?
I started to head out of the estuary and make my way back home, and that's when I saw something out of the corner of my eye: a massive silhouette sitting on the highest branch of the biggest tree in the lot. She was about half a mile north, off the path. I jumped out, grabbed my gear and slowly made my way into position. I'm sure she was watching me, but she didn't act like it. She was playing it cool up there, occasionally looking the opposite direction, letting me know she didn't care. I was about 50 feet away and my heart was racing; eagles are absolutely breathtaking and MUCH bigger than I could ever imagine.
I looked through my camera, and just before I was able to get her into focus, she was gone. I was devastated. I watched her fly across the open field, and just as I was about to sob, I saw her bank and land in a tree just on the other side of the meadow. I immediately noticed that this was her home. It was a glorious tree. Her nest was gigantic, something straight out of Narnia. I didn't notice it at first, but on the other side of the nest there was another silhouette, of equal size.

𝐌𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮..

But first, a story.

Earlier this month, half a dozen people sojourned to NYC for a mustering of #TheWellspringProject—a multi-day writing retreat I created to help you hone your voice, sharpen your skills, and create something that counts.

Three days spent learning to write more effectively with me at the helm.

Wellspring retreats teach hands-on, practical tools for all aspects of writing. Like how to:

•improve story structure for max. payoff 📖
•adjust pace & tempo to draw readers in ⏱
•bend the rules of punctuation/grammar to make bold stylistic choices and communicate ideas with *impact* 📝💥

𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙫𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙮.

Not in the SAT sense; it’s not about using big words to sound (ahem) erudite. It’s about communicating your message in the best way possible for your audience.

Bringing us back to my tattoo.

One of my favorite writing quotes is Mark Twain:

“𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚊𝚕𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍…𝚒𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚕𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚊 𝚕𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚞𝚐.”

I got this reminder inked after the retreat 🌩

Writing is part of everything we do. It’s how you talk to friends via text; how you connect to your audience through emails and articles; how you get the date, close the sale, transmit the idea.

It’s how you move people to ACTION.

Word choice is the heart of writing. The words we choose and the order in which we place them makes all the difference, what makes writing more than words on a page.

It’s not enough to create content. Anyone can do that.

As I tell my writing clients: little of what you teach is unique; your content, however good, isn’t enough to stand out.

Real influence isn’t solely about information; you have to master presentation. And that’s all writing.

Communicating an idea is fine; writing so they hear you in their head? That’s the game.

If you're ready to be a lightning bolt in a sea of lightning bugs, I may know a guy who offers coaching 😏🤓 #damndaddy

SWIPE for Common Mistakes & Proper Form!
Incorporating battle ropes is one of my favorite ways to get my heart rate up and burn out my arms on upper body days.
If you follow any of my programs, you're a pro! I give you specific intervals to do within your workouts.
.
Here are a few mistakes I often see women making with the ropes and my proper form demo so you can make sure your form is on point too!
1️⃣Too much tension / Not enough slack in the ropes
Step forward to give your ropes some slack. You shouldn't be leaning back pulling on the ropes.
2️⃣Forward bend
Avoid bending over too far forward. Assume a comfortable, upright, half-squat stance. Keep the erector muscles (back) engaged throughout.
3️⃣All arms / not using full body
For doubles (both ropes move together) use your full body in one fluid motion. You can even add some plyos into the exercise to make it more high intensity by adding a jump. (Demonstrated towards the end)
4️⃣Loosey-Goosey 😂
Unfortunately this is what I see most often. Too much uncontrolled movement in the shoulder joints, scapulae, & spine and not enough muscular control.
There will inevitably be some movement throughout but focus on engaging the core & back muscles (erector spinae, lats, traps) and initiate the movement from the deltoids (shoulder muscles)
Maintain a loose grip on the ropes to allow the wrists to follow through.

And most importantly, have fun with it!
.

✨ A new week. Fresh start. Today marks the start of a nonstop 3 weeks of food, wine, and travel for me, and I am so excited! I hope you all find the magic in this Monday, my friends!
✨ Speaking of magic, what about these gorgeous no-filter-needed hills in central Oregon, eh? My family visited The Painted Hills a couple of weeks ago during our last summer road trip. What an amazing sight to see in person!
✨ The Painted Hills are best seen in the afternoon, and the multi-layered soil colors change depending on light and moisture level. If you're headed out to Bend, Oregon, it's just an hour and a half drive away. Wear close-toed shoes that you don't mind getting dusty, and respect the earth: don't touch the soil, don't climb in the main viewing areas, just stay on the main paths and enjoy the magical views.

He charges through his opponents without fear or hesitation, with a force relatable to the world’s largest and strongest mammals – much like his namesake "The Vegan Rhino", also a powerful herbivore. 🦏
_
After following a vegetarian diet for two and a half years before going vegan in 2017, Mullally is now aiming to get rid of some stigmas in the rugby community and prove you definitely don't need meat to gain strength and perform at your best at the highest levels of sport.
_
In hardcore sports like Rugby no one wants to come across as 'weak' - and making lifestyle choices that fly in the face of the macho-dominated rugby world doesn't come without the critics.
_
He recalls when he switched to a vegan diet his team mates would tease him about his diet:
_
“When we eat out [at restaurants] the lads would pass me the plant pot in the middle of the table to eat”
_
But it's a testament to Mullally's character, a man who also works closely with homeless charities, that he doesn't bend to peer pressure; he isn't afraid to be different because he's doing what matters.
_
Mullally recently had a DEXA bone scan which showed that his bone density had actually became stronger since changing his diet. “The idea of milk being good for your bones is a myth” states Mullally, and nutritional science agrees, with hip fracture rates highest in populations with the greatest milk consumption [www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24247817].
_
And as more and more nutrition studies are published confirming that we are indeed much heathier when we skip the meat and dairy, we'll see more athletes adopting plant-based diets and enjoying the performance benefits Mullally has experienced.

For my first year of college I attended Great Commission Bible Institute (GCBI). GCBI is a one-year, non-accredited, college-level Bible program based in Sebring, FL. The program aims to make disciples who make disciples through intensive study of the Bible, involvement in ministry, and one-on-one mentoring. A week and a half is set aside to read the Bible cover to cover as a group!! We did it in 61 hours spread out over nine days. Between the read through, class, and homework, I went through the Bible three times. GCBI is a great way to set a solid foundation of truth. [more info at GCBI.net]
‭‭⠀
I came into this year with my fists clenched tightly around the plans I thought were best for my life. As the year went on, God softened my heart and I began to let go of my plans and accept the adventure of following Him into the unknown. Don’t get me wrong, the unknown still terrifies me, but I have peace knowing that around every bend, my Savior is there waiting for me with an outstretched hand.
‭‭⠀
I learned so much about myself and my Savior this year. I learned that I am a broken sinner and even though I bring nothing to the table, God still chose me to play a part in His grand story. I learned that God desires more than ever that we would all be in relationship with Him so that He can refine us into His perfect bride.
‭‭⠀
The measure of success in the Christian life life is not how “good” we act after receiving salvation, it’s how well we came to know the Father during our time on earth. Yes, adjusting our actions to shine the light of Christ is important, but we often get so caught up in trying to change ourselves that we forget to “seek first His kingdom” and allow God to do the changing.
‭‭⠀
Following Christ is meant to be a lifetime of adventure, but before you can embark, you have to be willing to WHOLLY surrender to Him. I’m not talking the “camp surrender” where you dedicate your life to Him and fall back into your old ways a week later. I’m talking completely ceding your dreams and plans to Him and praying for HIS will, HIS timing, and HIS guidance in your life. And if you, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

I laboriously hiked a 12 mile loop where half of the hike was an off trail excursion over a ridge line and subsequent boulder fields. I experienced one of the metaphors I regularly use with clients in therapy. A truth I firmly believe is the need to maintain a continuously shifting view between what is present in our current experience, an awareness of the now, and the long term view of the goals we are seeking to achieve. Too much focus on either view produces frustration, and inner turmoil manifest as depression or anxiety. I use a metaphor of hiking to explain the shifting view because it makes so much sense to need to look down to see our next footfall, avoiding rocks, stumps, and holes, then looking forward enough to anticipate a plan to navigate the next bend or boulder in the trail. The hike would just not be worth it without taking occasional glimpses of the peak from a distance to stay motivated and to remember the goal. The trick is in learning to gauge the time of the focus between the different views. We benefit greatly by spending the most time in the now, focusing on the very next step, perpetually choosing the best one. The distant view is brief but necessary in remembering to look up from time to time to take in the beautiful vistas ahead. Too much time on the distant view leaves one tripping over oneself in the present and often feeling stressed and inadequate to the task at hand. Very little time is spent looking backward, as hiking takes a forward view in the direction of the goal. Glancing backward is done only very occasionally at moments of rest to stand in awe of the distance covered, feeling joy at the accomplishment of such ascension. Learning the art of the shifting view has the capacity to bring great peace, fulfillment, and joy.

This might be the most accessible arm balance for some...and so not for others 😂😂 #whatsnew Set aside time to warm things up as needed...my favorite prep poses are goddess pose (opening through the inner thighs and prepping legs) lunges every which way and Compass pose! I usually practice Compass pose and then move into eight angle pose because things are already set up nicely for the transition! So from more of a half Compass bend the leg over your arm, Place hands down-shoulder width apart or maybe wider if that’s better for you, in front of your hips-then take bottom leg and place it on top of the leg that’s over your arm. Squeeze tight! Then begin to shift your weight into the hands...I like to lift my bottom first to really feel the core support and lock then bend the elbows to around 90 degrees and I like to think Chest comes forward (not down!) As you feel your eight angle be sure to keep the legs active by squeezing the upper arm with your thighs and keeping that cross of the ankles!

Cardi B spent almost a half hour "putting you all onto shit that I be thinking about" Sunday (Aug. 26) on a live video broadcast on Instagram.
The rapper covered a lot of ground during her rant. She defended the nude photo Offset posted Saturday and why she performed at his New York City show this weekend, even though she canceled her own upcoming tour plans. She spilled her desire to get liposuction and her breast augmentation redone. She defended her right to be a "nasty ass, freak ass bitch" and expressed why she's over trying to have a clean image.
"Let me be free," she said to her critics on camera. "If I wanna be half-ass naked, why not? A bitch used to be a whole motherfucking stripper. If I wanna feel sexy, if I want ya all to see my motherfucking body, why the fuck not?"
Saturday night, Cardi surprised the crowd during Migos' set at Madison Square Garden, where she rapped her "MotorSport" verse.
As she explains: "I went to see my man perform, out here in my city, New York. You know, they asked me if I can get on stage. And it's like, why the fuck not? I was so nervous 'cause I had these long ass motherfucking heels and shit and the motherfucking stage was shaking."
Her guest appearance apparently irked some people on social media.
"Let me tell you all something, right," said Cardi. "I seen a lot of people like, 'Oh, didn't you cancel your tour? Why you performing onstage?' And it's like, well, first of all, you know what I'm saying, going on tour in different cities every day -- that means I wouldn't be able to see my child. My child is in New York right now. And second of all, I only got on the stage for two minutes and I literally just rapped. When I go on tour and shit, I gotta put on a whole show. That means I gotta bend over, do somersaults and shit, do choreography -- and that's something my body is not ready to take right now."
For what it's worth, she did hint that she'd like to make some "special appearances with Bruno Mars" on the tour she had to drop out of.

Welcome to Day 3 of #StrongSpineOpenHeart Each day we’ll be bringing you an asana to strengthen the spine and open your heart along with a way to open ourselves up off the mat. For Day 3 of #StrongSpineOpenHeart we’re bringing you half #lowlunge #anjaneyasa to open your heart on the mat - I’m taking an exalted warrior backbend variation. And for our off the mat challenge we’re asking you to name five things about you urself that you are grateful for.
.
Well first and foremost I am grateful for my health!! At the end of the day it is one of the single most important parts of our existence. As a #cancersurvivor - every day of good health is a gift!! #2 would be my optimism- everything happens for a reason and the universe is always conspiring in your favor💕 3 would be my ability to learn quickly. It has given me the opportunity to explore and participate in so many wonderful experiences. 🧘‍♀️ Of course we have to add gratitude for my determination. Obsessive possibly but effective at holding the vision enough to trust the process. And lastly I am grateful for my self love. It’s been one of the most difficult to acquire but the ability to read my own self in body mind and soul and to honor, love, preserve and protect those parts of me is my greatest gift to myself. .
Can’t wait to see your posts and hear your responses to our daily off-the-mat heart openers. And be sure to show some love to the other hosts and sponsors.

It’s been painful to walk , painful to lay down , painful to move , painful to bend or hold and lift anything let alone chasing around my 13 month old & taking care of our home. Well I knew something was really off and I couldn’t put it off anymore. I Called my OB office and was told to go straight to labor and delivery. This momma is in pain and discomfort & I truly know my body even though I tend not to listen to it. I’m having real contractions just half way through my pregnancy , as well as my uterus is having extra stress put on it which of course is something we want to avoid as only 13 months ago I had a ruptured uterus and placenta detachment....today it really hit me after a nurse kept saying over and over again how I shouldn’t be alive & how lucky I am to be here from the fact I survived my first daughter’s birth. I could see it in her eyes how surprised and both sad she was that something so tragic happened and yet she was sitting there talking to a walking miracle. I guess I know my life has never been “easy”... but today it really hit me & just another reason to why I continue to share such personal moments of my life to help educate & inspire others. It wasn’t easy being hospitalized while also taking care of a 13 month old teething baby who didn’t nap at all, it got late and my husband ended up having to leave with her.. which then I was alone in a hospital room having contractions & missing my best little friend considering I’ve really never been apart from her...but I’m home now still having contractions and waiting to hear from my OB about what to continue to do. Looks like I should probably get the girls room finished and pack a hospital bag to be safe. It’s pretty scary to know I’m having contractions this early & the pain I’m having. Considering having a baby at 20 something weeks , no one wants. But doctors are thinking I’ll probably have this little girl around 34-36 weeks. Which I had my first daughter at 36 weeks. It’s hard taking care of Lilly like this but her cuddles/kisses are the best💜

The deepest knowing of your body in any peak pose comes from the time spent preparing for it. We love @janiceliou 's guide to Compass Pose! Tag your yogi friends for inspo!⠀

HIP OPENERS + COMPASS POSE VARIATIONS⠀
Learn and build your way up to the compass poses (for all levels) with props from the ground up! Expect lots of yummy hip openers / hamstring stretches (starting gentle with reclined compass) as we work to the poses that require balance.⠀
Recommended to pair this class with "Flexibility Guide to Split" to increase your hip/leg flexibility!⠀
。⠀
Focus: side stretches/shoulders, hips, hamstrings⠀
Pose sequence:⠀
1. Gentle reclined happy baby - half happy baby⠀
2. Gentle reclined compass⠀
3. Seated side stretches⠀
4. Modified downdog/forward fold/malasana+twists⠀
5. Side angle - Triangle (with bind)⠀
6. Modified bird of paradise⠀
7. Lizard Lunge⠀
8. Wide half split⠀
9. Kneeling compass (half compass)⠀
10. Janusrisasana side bend⠀
11. Double pigeon/firelog⠀
12. Seated Compass⠀
13. Standing Compass⠀
。⠀
Do your best to find length in your low back (instead of rounding, sit up tall) and take your time. Flexibility takes time for the body to open up, be patient and concentrate on feeling the stretch rather than achieving the pose. Hope this was helpful!!

1.  To get yourself into the starting position, place the pulleys on a high position (above your head), select the resistance to be used and hold the pulleys in each hand.

2.  Step forward in front of an imaginary straight line between both pulleys while pulling your arms together in front of you. Your torso should have a small forward bend from the waist. This will be your starting position.

3.  With a slight bend on your elbows in order to prevent stress at the biceps tendon, extend your arms to the side (straight out at both sides) in a wide arc until you feel a stretch on your chest. Breathe in as you perform this portion of the movement. Tip: Keep in mind that throughout the movement, the arms and torso should remain stationary; the movement should only occur at the shoulder joint.

4.  Return your arms back to the starting position as you breathe out. Make sure to use the same arc of motion used to lower the weights.

5.  Hold for a second at the starting position and repeat the movement.

A quick advice

When you #cardio stairway, do not bend over or resting your albows on the heart beat.

You need to stand straight and hold the heart beat with your hands if you are following your heart beat in case your doing HIIT or other reasons, you could also hold on the side but most importantly do not bend over on them.

If you bend over, your wasting almost half of your efforts so why all the trouble if your not benefitting from your Cardio as expected.

British Indian Army riflemen with 4th Battalion, 10th Gurkha Rifles, clear enemy bunkers on Scraggy Hill, IVO Shenam Pass, Imphal, Burma, 14 Mar 1944.

Then round the bend came a squad of Japs, moving quite quickly, but not very alert, chattering, rifles not held for instant action.

A Gurkha fired too early, the rest quickly joining in, raking the enemy with automatic and rifle fire. The front group jerked and twisted, caught by the fusillade. Behind them a few more had just time to raise their rifles, before being met by more bursts of automatic fire. The jungle around us echoed with the sound, smoke drifted across, there was a strong smell of cordite followed by silence, and in the slight hollow lay some eight bodies.

But I was almost sure that at least one, maybe two had escaped behind the bend, because of the first early shot. And I was right. A rifle bullet whined overhead, followed quickly by another. ‘We must get him, Sahib,’ Tilbir said. ‘Give me your tommy-gun,’ I said to the lance-naik. Then I said to Tilbir, ‘Fire the grenade launcher,” thinking, that will please Mike! ‘Keep him occupied while I get round behind.` Taking the GF rifle with the grenade launcher himself, Tilbir fired a couple of 68s. And as they exploded I slipped away from the group, to cross the hollow further up and into some cover.

There were more rifle shots, then another two grenades. I worked my way through the undergrowth which was not very thick, and suddenly came upon the track again, and a jap who from behind cover was raising himself to fire into the ambush party on the other side.

I gave him a burst from the tommy-gun. He arched up, the rifle slipping from his hands, then rolled right over on to his back without a single sound. His body remained slumped in an unnatural position.

I called out to Tilbir that I was coming along the track. As I stepped out onto the track I glanced down at the Jap. His face was grey, blood in his mouth, eyes half-opened, but staring accusingly.

God knows he could have had a wife and family back in japan. But he would have killed me remorselessly if he could have fired first, and I felt no sense of guilt. - Harold James, 1943 #hardfuck

#FITNESSWIKITIP : I love to do a weightdrop set on this exercise. Lower the weight to half and do 10 more reps. Feel the burn.

3️⃣Bend your leg and push your foot against the bottom most tubing.
4️⃣Let go of the top hoop so it’s held in place by your foot and the other hoop.
5️⃣Use your hands to swim through the hoop as you kick it up so the lock forms around your body.

The boys and I are moving back to the USA 🇺🇸 at the end of this month! We’ll be living in Bend, OR for the next year and half. (If you live there or nearby, let me know!)
.
The Husband will be moving to Kuala Lumpur without us. It’s going to be tough for everyone, but ultimately we felt that the pups wouldn’t have the best quality of life in Malaysia. The plan is that I’ll visit KL every other month. (If you live in KL, let me know! And if you have a dog that my husband can come visit! 🤞)
.
As you can probably guess, it’s been crazy lately and will continue to be for a little longer. I’ll try to post updates on Stories though. Ahhh! I’m not stressed. I’m not stressed. If I keep repeating that it’ll be true, right?!?!

✨Stretches for Tight Shoulders✨
.

.
.
😅 🌼 Let’s Be Yogasheroes! Some stretches to help with tight shoulders (great for warm up before handstands, backbends, or a general yoga practice)
.
.
1. Cow
2. Cat - move between cat/cow for 10 breaths (or a couple of minutes) to warm up the spine; and then any authentic movements in table top that you feel you need
3. Down dog - open shoulders, pedal out feet (it's okay if you need to bend your knees if you have tighter hamstrings!)
4. Dolphin - drop to forearms, keep on opening shoulders and don't collapse - think shoulder protraction (again, bend knees if you have tighter hamstrings)
5. Table top - lift arm up, make circles one direction and then the opposite (do both sides)
6. Thread the needle - in table top with arm lifted, thread arm under body (opposite hand overhead or half bind around back); opens shoulders, chest, arms, upper back, and neck (do both sides)
7. Reverse Namaskar - walk out arms in table top and bend elbows, palms together
8. Puppy dog - extend arms straight out and sink chest to floor, hips over knees
9. Puppy dog with optional straight legs - only if your chest is on the floor and you want to go deeper! slowly straighten legs out to push hips more over knees
.
.
Hold all of these for at least a couple of breaths, allow your body to sink and relax ❤️

This is a pose that requires deep external hip rotation, so while it's important to work hip mobility, hip stability is just as important! (No, it's not all about pigeon pose!)
🔆Here are some tips and ideas of poses to work into your yoga practice if leading up to lotus.
🔅Warm ups could include:
🔹On back, knees bent, arch and flatten low back several times
🔹Take feet closer together, let both legs fall open slowly into butterfly and close several times
🔹Supta padangusthasana 2 (open leg to side)
🔹Half or full happy baby, straighten and bend one leg at a time, resist a bit when you bend
🔹Figure 4 stretch, keep foot flexed, hips grounded
🔅Standing sequence:
Include poses like warrior 2, pyramid, triangle, half moon (try w/back foot pushing into the wall)
🔅Poses for stability (after your standing sequences):
🔹Deer pose, lift and lower front & back leg 2-3x
🔹Tree pose at the wall. Game changer! Press your bent knee into the wall while you press your standing leg back into your foot. Feel your outer hips turn on!
🔹Butterfly, press your feet together to engage the inner thigh muscles, then relax and stretch. Do this 3-4x, going deeper ea time.
🔆Lotus pose entry (slide 2):
If it's hard for you to get into lotus, try coming into it on your back!
1. Bend your knee, kick heel to butt, closing knee joint.
2. Then hold your foot and knee, keeping in one piece. Externally rotate at the hip joint and bring your foot across to your opposite hip, keep ankle flexed. Don't take the foot super far over to start. Keep the legs wider. (⚠️DO NOT hold shin and rotate leg at the knee joint!! This is a big NO-NO! The rotation happens at the hip, not the knee.)
3. Bend the other knee, close knee joint, crossing that foot on top of the other. 🚨BE CAREFUL here! It's THIS movement that can blow out your knee. If you keep your lotus legs and feet a little wider to start, this will be safer on the knee.
4. Once you have your legs in place, either with or without your hands, start to tighten up your lotus.
🔆Left side of slide 2 continued in comments...👇🏼

I am sharing the transition today! Ground through your supporting leg (use your toes too!) to help find your strength and balance as you raise one leg up behind you drawing strength through the glutes/hamstrings/back body into Warrior III feeling out your alignment and making adjustments along the way. From Warrior III begin to draw your Chest up as the back leg lowers and extends straight out in front of you (hold on to that foot/toes if you'd like), bend the supporting leg as best you can into your Pistol Squat! It might help if you wear a shoe for this one...especially if you need a little help with that pistol squat...or grab a chair/prop and lower only to that height for a modified Pistol squat variation! Lower into your range of motion, lift back up and get that other side!

This week Sammy may be anywhere between 16 and 17 or more inches in length and could grow up to another full inch this week. She weighs more than four-and-a-quarter pounds and is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week — weight gain can range from a third more to a full doubling before the big debut). With that much baby, my amniotic fluid level has maxed out at 33 weeks pregnant. TMI but my sister is my witness! When I bend over too quickly we can now HEAR my stomach swooshing around! Kinda like when you drink a ton of water. So weird!!!!At this point tho, there is more baby than fluid! That's one reason why some of her pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days 😳. Good news! Baby girl has reached an important milestone about now: She's got her own immune system 😷! Antibodies are being passed from me to my little one as she continues to develop her fetal immune system, which will come in handy once she's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs. Pregnancy insomnia goes up and down. Night before last, I couldn’t fall asleep til 11 pm and then woke up at 1:00am, 2:00am, 4:00am and then at 5:00am I just got up. But last night I went to bed at 9:30pm and only woke up at 4:00am and then 5:30am. So each night is different. My goal is to try and go to bed as early as possible... reading helps knock me out.🤓📖 The pregnancy brain is a daily laugh. The things I say and forget are ridiculous! 😂 Hubby is enjoying the laughs tho! No ligament pain or anything lately. I’ve been going to Afton Harris weekly for prenatal massages and it has REALLY helped! Without her I’m sure that I wouldn’t still be working on my feet all day and working out 4-5 days a week. She’s been such a blessing! The weeks have slowed down now that the nursery is all ready, im just waiting to meet my little miracle baby now ❤️👶🏼❤️ #ivfpregnancy #journeytosam #ivfsuccess #ivf #godisgood #blessed #forevergrateful #ivfjourney #bumpdate #fitpregnancy #fitmom

For Day 5 of #StrongSpineOpenHeart we’re bringing you #bridgepose #setubandhasarvangasana to open your heart on the mat. And for our off the mat challenge we’re asking you to forgive someone who has wronged you.
.
This one is probably the hardest one for me. I think my biggest challenge is to forget the transgressions of those around me and to let them go without letting the relationship go as well. The daily reminder that we are all very much alike and usually all just doing the best we can is a step in the right direction and finding forgiveness for others and to also learn to be just as equally forgiving of yourself as well.

Can’t wait to see your posts and hear your responses to our daily off-the-mat heart openers. And be sure to show some love to the other hosts and sponsors.

Hmmm. Saison or Half Hitch Imperial? Given Seattle’s nasty wildfire smoke and a busy work and travel schedule, we took a few days off earlier this week and spent them in Bend with what I’ve missed most: family, the mountains, really great beer and the actual sun (though probably shouldn’t have stared quite so directly at the last). After a bike ride, a trip to Good Life, seeing my kid fall in love with Smith Rock and spending some time just staring at the Deschutes and Crooked River wishing we had time to break out the fly rods, we headed home. We hit Seattle, where the smoke had dissipated (at least for the moment), and the rain had returned (briefly, at least) and were reminded for the millionth time in 20 years—there’s just no beating the Pacific Northwest. But please: don’t tell anyone.

KETTLEBELL SWING 101:
1. hip hinge!!!!
2.Hinge by sitting back and bending at the hips, then the knees.
3. Swing the kettlebell back and behind your knees.
4. Thrust your hips forward, squeeze your glutes, and stand up straight. Do not backward bend at the top of the motion! Be sure to create a non-stop fluid motion as you swing:
with the kettlebell going behind the knees then up to shoulder level.
5. At the top of the swing, the kettlebell should go no higher than chest level.
Do not raise the kettlebell with your arms. Your arms— as well as the kettlebell—should remain weightless through the entire motion. 1
FORM•The first thing people need to understand with
kettlebells is that you must “link your body” together
into one strong chain of action. This principle ensures
that you will not be placing any stress or pressure on any
single joint or muscle. Additionally, it will secure the total
-body principles kettlebells are built on. Link your body
by applying proper form, checking your alignment and
center of gravity, and executing each move with a flow
of motion.
• Stay rooted into the ground. Never explode out with
the kettlebell and find your heels or toes off-balance or
off the ground. In swinging motions especially keep
yourself rooted and remember to use the engage
the glutes.
• Aim to squeeze your glutes before the kettlebell
reaches face level—as it does, pop the hip forward and
willingly make the kettlebell fall back behind the knees.
• The kettlebell should fall above and behind the knees
then come up to face level, and no higher, for the basic
swing. 3
• Speed comes from making sure your force and body
drop the kettlebell down, not gravity.
• Don’t Squat! If you squat during this motion it will not
be a posterior chain motion, therefore you won’t be
focusing on the glutes and hamstrings, the very area this
motion was created for!

You know when people move into a new house or apartment and there’s a big old fig tree out the front, they must think oh wow that’s pretty, I could get used to that. But then it grows and blocks their view of the city or fig season comes and the leaves & figs fall into their yard. Suddenly they’re writing to the council asking to get rid of it, they’re cutting it or poisoning it hoping it can bend to their will. We kind of get like this in relationship. Once the romance has faded a little, once the mirage has gone and what we see before us is another human being with their traumas and quirks, with their pain & their humanity holding up a mirror so we can see the parts of ourselves we often deny - our ego’s & nuances. The voice of our parents & past. We start to cut eachother down because reality gets in the way of the view we‘d created and assumed would be much simpler than this. Much simpler than being two wholes who thought they needed to find a half. We forget the figs were there first, the branches, leaves and roots of the other grew before we arrived and will continue to grow if we choose to leave. Nobody is a project - no one is incomplete - we are what we are at any moment and to see a person as that, to see them as an equal on a parallel path that only sometimes meets ours, to grow with them without trying to bend them or turn them into our reflection, without trying to complicate or over simplify is a dynamic rarely seen. Trying to change the other is a way to avoid the truth, it’s trying to sustain a vision created in illusion - when all there was were star gazing forevers & lazy Sunday sex. Romantic illusion is the poison we feed the tree.. it‘s an empty box of chocolates and a dying rose where the trunk used to be.

Am I losing flexibility?? 🙏🏼 This is a very real question I asked myself in yoga class yesterday when I could barely bend in half during a forward fold.
👉🏼 When I first started my Instagram account appearing flexible was so important to me. I wanted to force my body into as many positions as possible to prove myself as an advanced yogi. My priorities were always physical advancement and I never put as much as an emphasis on how I was feeling mentally or taking care of my body. 💕
Over the past few months I’ve taken a break from my physical advanced yoga practice and have been focusing more on modifying, not pushing myself too hard and figuring out what makes me feel good mentally and physically. This means I maybe haven’t been focusing on building flexibility and noticed that I have lost some.
💕
When I realized this, I wanted to be mad at myself. I felt like I had let myself down and needed to get back to practicing ASAP. After some reflection, I realized even though I’ve lost some flexibility, I’ve gained so much more. I’m regaining my purpose, loving myself more and doing things for me and not just to appear more flexible or “advanced” in yoga.
💕
I am not defined by how far I can bend, how long I can hold a pose and what other people think of my body. 👉🏼 I am so excited and inspired to get back into my full physical practice but for right now I’m just happy being exactly where I am.

Looking for a fun transition to play with when you’re in half moon/ ardha chandrasana? This has been one of my favorites recently - puppy press to straddle split handstand. To practice this from half moon place your hands down shoulder width apart, grip down firmly all the way to the fingertips & keep your arms straight. Bring your back leg forward, bend the knee as you externally rotate the leg. Lean your weight forward so you stack hips over your shoulders & shoulders over wrists. Using the leverage of the bent knee helps make the transition a bit more accessible and easier than the full straddle press. I hope this helps! I think I’ll teach this more in class later. Come practice 6:30 pm, Strong Flow @reddiamondyoga #yogawithdrinie

If fact, you’ll take your flexibility skills to another level, if you manage to arch back while holding Lotus, instead of folding onto the legs. For this #backbend, warm up the spine, thighs and shoulders, like you’d normally do for this family of poses, but also incorporate some Half or Full Lotuses, seated or standing, beforehand. I like to be safe when approaching new asanas (or variations) so, if you haven’t done this before, #practice regular Camel, reaching the arms overhead towards the back wall and see how that feels. If the low back is ok and you can continue to push the arch into the thoracic spine, try the same thing in Half Lotus (obvi, do it twice, alternating the leg fold). If you can still thrust the hips forward, above the knees, bend the legs into Lotus, come onto the kneecaps, reach one arm behind, find the wall, arch the upper back, relax the head and rest the other palm too against it. Crawl the hands down until you feel the arms parallel to the floor, continue to lift the chest out/up, hips over kneecaps and press the outer edges of the feet against the thighs. To come out you’ll likely have to ‘push off’ the wall, then lower the butt and sit. Notice how the feet do a self adjustment, stretching the fascia around the crease of the hips. Modify as needed or wait up for more ideas in tomorrow’s post!!! For translations in different languages, follow:

.
On the far left ⬅️ the one hand on the hip, other hand out like you’re patting a small child on the head 😂
.
On the far right ➡️ the cross legged pose that, while well meaning (it was supposed to be more modest), was difficult to execute.
.
And in the middle ⬆️ the pose I favor both as an athlete and a judge.
.
This pose best shows your symmetry. I know the term “X frame” is usually used for other divisions, namely bodybuilding, but it also applies to bikini. And this pose shows it best: broad shoulders tapering into a tight waist, flowing into curvy glutes and shapely legs. This is how you can best present yourself as a competitor and how we as judges can best compare you.
.
Some tips on execution: 1️⃣ keep your shoulders relaxed and not pinched together. Pinching your shoulder blades makes you look more narrow and reduces your V taper. 2️⃣ Keep your hair covering your back. We aren’t judging your back development and, unless your one of the top Pros, you’ll likely just give us reasons to deduct for being too hard or too soft. 3️⃣ Keep your chest up. This prevents the bent over at the waist position we all warn you about. You will need to work on lower back flexibility - you can’t cheat the pose by bending over at the waist. 4️⃣ Dont bend over at the waist. Please. 5️⃣ Arch your lower back to keep your glutes high. Never drop your hips or tuck them under - even in transition poses! 6️⃣ Keep a slight bend in your knees - SLIGHT. I see a lot of girls who look like they’re half squatting up there and it’s so unflattering! Bending your knees doesn’t help your hammies pop if you’re not in good enough shape anyway. And if you can only engage your hamstrings in that position, you need to work on mind muscle connection so as to engage your hams and still execute this pose more subtly.
.
Girls still ask me if they can use the pose on the right - and you can, there’s no restriction. I personally prefer not to (I’m worried about tripping over my own feet when I cross my legs 🙈😂) and as a judge, I feel this pose only flatters those with narrow hips. Just my 2 cents 💁🏼 Hope this helps you in your posing practice!

ASANA KITCHEN: OPEN HIPS IN HALF LOTUS (SUPPLEMENTAL EXERCISE)
_
I love how Krishnamacharya would practice half lotus positions as stand alone asanas. Its amazing what you can discover when you aren’t stuck binding the lotus or trying for full lotus. This is one of my favorite supplemental hip opening exercises I do it in the afternoon.
_

This video teaches you an exercise that will help you to to safely and effectively increase flexibility in your hip joints. The exercise has fun and engaging meditative aspect because you are required to enlist the participation of your entire body in order to improve your Half Lotus. You get your whole body involved by creating extension through the legs, arms, and spine and by strongly activating your bandhas especially Uddhyana Bandha (Flying Up Stomach Lock).
_

The exercise is a preparation for Ardha Baddha Padma Paschimatanasana or Half Bound Lotus Seated Forward Bend. Except here we simplify the posture by NOT binding the Half Lotus position and also by working with a more upright spinal and pelvic position, this gives you better access to your bandhas and helps you find the more complete, circular range of motion of your hips. Finally, you learn how to create an effective set of oppositional forces by pulling on a block with your fingers and pushing your foot into the block. Pulling and pushing with your hands and foot will give you an extra boost for creating extension and activating bandhas and thus enables you to release your Half Lotus thigh and knee towards the ground.
_
Join me at the Berkshires, Massachusetts, over Memorial Day weekend for a 5 day Mysore intensive, May 25-28. 👉🏽link in bio

1300 miles
Taking pretty well care for, only been halfway rolled over once at low speed. Plastics that are still on it are in Normal wear shape for Kentucky woods. recently the machine had a cage and other things done for short course racing and added strength and safety but has never been raced. Doors are solid, has aluminum door skins, rear half of firewall, roof, and low vised windshield. (Working on adding some to the bed delete) Rear intake and clutch breather have filters on them and it has a rear bumper welded in the rear. (Working on adding some to the bed delete) Cage was done by @j_cantrell502 and it came out slick!! I feel alot safer and lower in this machine taking consideration of the bo and Luke Duke method of accessing the machine 😁🤙 All preventative maintenance has been done and the Machine is 100% functional condition. The rear control arm had a slight Bend in it so I replaced it with another stock one.
I have all of the factory parts that have been removed or replaced with others. Still have the stock bed cage and windshields and roof. Stock cage also. Both doors were bent from pushing between tight trails. This machine is ready to go and I have extras such as rock lights, few sets of light pods, a JL amplifier to go with it and lower door skins if buyer decides to change doors back. Asking $10,500 or best offer. No I do not want any trades but I'm negotiable on price. Contact @hartslife @hartslife @hartslife if interested

While I prepare to lead my first bible study, I realized it’s time for a new bible. I knew my old one was in pretty bad shape. I’ve had it for 15 years. It’s been good to me, but it’s time to start fresh. This photo is very symbolic of who I am as a person. I like it when things are familiar and worn in. Comfortable. I like to know what to expect. This new bible is so flashy and fresh. I’m afraid to mark it up. I’m afraid to bend a page. But I’m going to dig in and with any luck, this one will be ruined in half the time. I’m way out of my comfort zone leading this study. Like I said, I like being comfortable. This year, so far, I’ve done many things out of my comfort zone, and I’ve received nothing but blessings. God is growing inside of me. I can’t wait to se what is in store for me this year. After all, we’re just getting started. #armorofgodstudy #priscillashirer #bible #kjv #jesus #christianwoman

Since this campaign was inspired by @sharkweek, we wanted to share a few stories about the great hammerhead on the Diversity Wall. And wow, does this one have some stories!

When creating images of animals, I try not to model my subject directly after a photograph. Usually, I’ll compile a series of photos and create an image based on composites. Rarely does one photo capture the exact behavior I’m looking to portray and, regardless, I never want to replicate a photographer’s image without permission.
In this case, however, I did fall in love with a single photo—Brian Skerry’s famous great hammerhead shot. It was the perfect model for the story I wanted to tell, so I licensed it. Thanks @brianskerry!  I love the way the image captures how flexible and agile sharks are. These hammerheads get huge—up to 20 feet(!!!) long—but they can practically bend themselves in half if they want to quickly change direction. If you swipe through the images, you’ll see the shark in the mural is actually making a hard turn toward a school of cownose rays—dinner time!!! This close up shot really shows the texture and layers of paper collaged to create the shark. Can anyone guess if this one is a male or female?

Ultimately I was quite pleased with the way the hammerhead turned out, but it was a marathon struggle to get it right! Stay tuned for more on that…

What a great start to #Yogissentials! Thanks to all participants who joined us on day 1! We are continuing on with day 2 and folding into Uttanasana/Standing Forward Fold and Ardha Uttanasana/Half Standing Forward Fold ⚡️❤️✌️
-•-
These standing folds not only challenges our balance, but it also provides a nice stretch in the hamstrings and the spine. Alignment is key here and we want to ensure we are still grounded down in our feet (similar to Day 1). As we exhale into our standing forward fold, we create space to come deeper into the bend. And as we inhale into our half standing set, we feel a lift in the chest to counter the action of the rounded back.
-•-
If you are not able to touch the ground with your palms while in straight legs, don’t fret. Try with a bend in the knees to get there. If you want to be creative, play around with hand placement 🙌. When coming into the half standing fold variation, fingertip can be on the ground in front of your toes, palms aligned to your shins, or even in a prayer. Once you’ve mastered this, play around and challenge your balance by shifting most of the weight off your heels and into your toes slightly. You’ll feel a new engagement almost immediately! 😛

This baby-faced hard-dick hitter is Sgt. Thomas A. Baker aka T-Bake aka T-Money Stacks aka T-Boogie. T-Boogie enlisted in the Army in 1940, part of the 27th ID. By June 1944, Sgt. Baker found himself breaking asses in half in Saipan.  During an attack, Baker pushed ahead of his unit with a bazooka single handedly destroying a Japanese emplacement that was firing on his homies like it was gone off that Henny with a fresh piece of ass bent over in front of it. #BazookaDickGameStrong Days later, he volunteered to hold a position down like an IG story with a nip-slip #WhoSeentAtitty  He did so to protect his company in case the Japanese tried to pull some ole fuck shit like they did on the reg. #Nope #NahFam #CrewLove Upon setting up said position he rolled up on 2 heavily fortified enemy pits manned by 12 men which had been bypassed. Summoning all the big dick energy he had to spare, he pulled out the yopper and dumped on them niggas killing every enemy soldier. #3Hunnna #Oblock Five hundred yards farther, he racked 6 more EKIA #ToeTagginBodyBaggin On 7 July 1944, the perimeter of which Sgt. Baker was holding got attacked on 3 sides by 3k to 5k Japanese #Fuck During the early stages of this attack, Baker got lit tf up but refused to leave the line and continued to lay hate at ranges within 5 yards until he was black on ammo #TrueGshit With no ammo, he resorted to hand to hand fades #ChinWork #MuzzleThumpingTaints #BayonettingAdamsApples Bleeding out Sgt. Baker was then carried about 50 yards to the rear by a comrade, who was then himself wounded. At this point Sgt. Baker refused to be moved any farther stating that he preferred to be left to die rather than risk the lives of any more of his brothers #AsTrillAsItGets  At his request, he was placed against a small tree and given a pistol with 8 rds . When last seen alive, Baker was propped against a tree, pistol in hand, calmly facing the enemy. Days later, Sgt. Baker's body was found in the same position, with 8 Japanese laying dead around him. #WarriorsDeath
For his courage and sacrifice, Sgt. Thomas A. Baker was awarded the Medal of Honor #OAFNation #TBT

💘 Xo Melis

Okay, so start in downward facing dog, widen the stance of your feet a little bit more than hips distance. Maybe take your hips side to side and give yourself a little side body stretch through the ribs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, once you feel warm and open start to come up onto your toes, tuck your tailbone and chin as you round and exhale and roll forward over the wrists. Exhale on this movement because the ribs are right and compressed. Then inhale lead with the hips, lift the tailbone and let the rest of your spine do the same one vertebra at a time, your head coming up last and opening the chest deeply at the end 🦋
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The middle sequence is adding a deep bend in the knees to support the mid body and also keep the low back from getting over worked. Get playful, really move freely and with your breathe and see how wild and expressive you can get! Close your eyes and feel it all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lastly and the most supportive version of this practice is in table top. Start in child’s pose, exhale round like we did in downward facing dog, tuck the tailbone and chin as shoulders go over wrists. You’ll find yourself in cat 😽 then leading with the hips start to wave the spine open like a snake or an ocean wave. Sit the hips back as you come into a moving version of cow, inhale strong in the arms. Use the strength of your back to open up through the front body, the heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There you have it 🌙 spinal rolls to the best of my ability to teach you through this little screen 👁 I love you and happy Sunday! 🌈 tag me if you end up trying this little @blissfullhearts tutorial 🌻

It’s been a long teaching and travel day and I totally slept in 🙈

It’s the last day of #mayyoutwistandbind and for day 7 (Sunday) we want to see your progress shot. Please know that we are aware that the difference in a week won’t be as obvious as if a longer time span is in between. But imagine your twist and bind in a year 🤩

My twist got a bit tighter. The gap between upper and lower body is smaller. Slide two shows my twist to the left and today I could fully grab my wrist whereas las week I could only hold my hand and my upper arm is straighter.

A short recipe:
1. Fold in half to organize your kidneys
2. Cat & Cow to create heat
3. Side bend and Twist to move along your spit
4. Backbend to break your habits
5. Twist to change your view and to flush (not squish) your kidneys.
6. Bind to keep things together.

Most students think the bind is all about the shoulders. Please know … It’s not. Of course you need open shoulders but that is really the last thing to do on that list.

I want thank everyone joining this week. You’ve been dedicated, determined and most of all open minded to try new amd probably unknown things. I truly believe everyone of you will get a nice and beautiful twist and bind. You guys rock ❤️.

Million of thanks to my brilliant co-just Jade for a fabulous week. It’s been such an honour .. and I never forget our live session *hoping for more* ❤️.

Last but not least many thanks to our generous sponsor for supporting our challenge 🙏🏼.

If you’re bored of plain old roast asparagus, you’ve got to try topping it with this addictively crunchy, garlicy, zesty crumb that you’ll probably want to then use on EVERYTHING 😍🤤👌🏽 swipe for the video, as part of my ongoing partnership with the wonderful @harrisfarmmarkets 💚
Recipe:
Ingredients:
• 3-4 bunches asparagus
• 4 tbsp. olive oil, divided
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs*
• 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese • zest of half a lemon
• 1 garlic clove, finely minced
Instructions:
• Preheat oven to 210C
• Prepare the asparagus by removing the hard woody ends; the best way to do it is simply by
hand, just bend each spear until it naturally snaps at the correct spot. Arrange the trimmed asparagus spears in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, drizzle with 2 tbsp. olive oil & sprinkle with the salt, set aside.
• Prepare the crumb topping: mix the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, lemon zest, garlic & 2 tbsp. olive oil in a bowl till evenly mixed. Have a taste & season with salt if needed. Spoon this mixture mainly across the middle part of the asparagus spears on the baking sheet, leaving just a bit of the tops & bottom parts exposed (refer to video).
• Roast in the oven for 15 minutes until the breadcrumb topping is nicely golden brown. Serve immediately.
Notes:
*you can easily make fresh breadcrumbs by simply whizzing a few slices of your favourite toast or bread (crusts removed) in a food processor till finely processed. I used sourdough bread and it was delicious, but any soft bread will do!

A deep back bend that is one of my favorites. The invigorating feeling I get from practicing it is unmatched ❤️
.
👉💥However it requires both arm strength and openness in the front of the shoulders. In this asana the arms support half of the body weight hence it is important to get them straight. With out straight arms we will burrow and compensate from another body region mostly compromising the back.
👉💥If working to straight arms is difficult modify by doing bridge pose

📍Place hands by sides of the ears with fingers pointing towards shoulders
📍Lift up a bit to place the top of the head down
📍Adjust the hands to shoulder width
📍Push evenly in the hands and feet to lift up
📍Go to straight arms first then deepen the back bend .

CHEST lifting sculpt! 🎀💪🏽🔥 Comment below if you're saving this and tag a homebuddy to sculpt with! 👯‍♀️ These are some of my favorite moves to strengthen and sculpt the chest from different angles. We are still in the hotel so I grabbed some dishes to use as weights, as well as my trusty resistance bands. If you are really short on equipment, the pushup variations I show are some of the most effective moves you can do to target this area, and they require only body weight 🙌🏽
---
Excited to hear what you think of this one, and please let me know your suggestions for sculpts you'd like to see 🙏🏽 Have an amazing start to the week and be sure to set aside some time for YOU to destress and show yourself some selfcare, even if it's just 10 minutes each day for some fresh air and a brisk walk. Happy sculpting loves! 👊🏽💛 #hbsculptarms
---------
**If you don't have a band, perform these moves on your back, holding a weight in each hand. Pay attention to the direction of your press -- in moves 1&2, it will be upwards and towards the wall behind you to hit the upper pecs (which often fail to activate) whereas in moves 5-7 (if on your back) you'll press towards ceiling
**even if you can do a "full" pushup, I suggest trying the modified (elevated or on knees) versions I show here to ensure full range of motion, which will allow you to get deeper into those chest muscles 💪🏽
———
💞Complete 4 rounds💞
1️⃣Banded diagonal lift pulses (20x)
2️⃣Banded diagonal lift presses (12x)
3️⃣Eccentric pushups (12x)
👉🏽place hands slightly wider than your mat to target your chest. Elbows should bend outwards as you lower.
👉🏽perform the lowering movement as slowly as possible, then press up explosively
4️⃣Low pushup pulses (to failure)
5️⃣Single arm banded chest press (15x each side)
6️⃣Banded fly (12x)
7️⃣Banded fly pulses (20x)
8️⃣Constant tension pushups (to failure)
👉🏽Stay in the lower half of the rep to maintain constant tension on your chest
9️⃣Supine chest press (12x)
🔟Incline chest press (12x)

TAG FRIENDS WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS POST!
.
CABLE CROSSOVER

Main Muscle Worked: Chest
Other Muscles: Shoulders

#FITNESSWIKITIP : I love to do a weightdrop set on this exercise. Lower the weight to half and do 10 more reps. Feel the burn.

I don't know many people outside yoga/flexi world who don't suffer from tight hips, do you? .

We have our modern lifestyle to blame for it. Sitting in an office or in a car all day is certainly not good for hips. .

So today we are going to try to release that tightness. .

#HipsHipsHooray, Sept 3rd - 10th❤ . .

On DAY 3 we are playing with #Figure4 or #PigeonPose variation. .

Pigeon itself can be very intense, but Figure 4 gives options for any level and works wonders for tight hips. I suggest you try few of those or even all of them. Please remember to have your foot flexed to protect your knee.
.

Standing Figure4 - I demonstrate two variations in first two slides.
Seated Figure 4 - you can forward fold or bend the supporting leg and walk foot in closer to intensify the stretch.

Reclined Figure4 - lying on your back bring the legs towards you , bend the knee of supporting leg and wrap your hands around or below it.

Please always listen to your body - moderate discomfort is fine, but pain is absolutely not! Use props, modify or contact one of us (hosts) for help. .

Please check variations from my amazing co-hosts and leave some love to out generous sponsors. ❤️. . .

Happy FriYAY and DAY 5 of #HipsHipsHooray, Sept 3rd - 10th❤ . .

Today we are working our hips with #GoddessPose or #UtkataKonasa .

Start in standing position with the feet 3-4 feet apart, approx. distance of length of one of your legs. .

Turn the feet out about 45 degrees, raise your arms out and bend them at your elbows to form a 90 degree angle, have your palms facing forward and fingers energized and extended. .

As you exhale slowely bend your knees over the toes squatting down until they also reach a 90 degree angle and hold the pose for 5-6 breaths. .

Be very careful as you bend your knees that they do not knock inward. Be sure that your knees always track directly over your toes, even if that means modifying the angle of your feet. This is so important to build the correct strength in the legs and to protect the very vulnerable knee joint. .

Goddess pose has vast benefits, opens the hips and chest while strengthening and toning the lower body. It also stimulates the uro-genital, respiratory and cardiovascular system too. .

Please always listen to your body - moderate discomfort is fine, but pain is absolutely not! Use props, modify or contact one of us (hosts) for help. .

Now those of you that don't like your nose... absolutely HATE your nose. But unfortunately most of you also hate the idea of surgery too. In a matter of minutes, we can (using only dermal fillers) disguise bumps, lift the tip up, and make a larger nose look cuter and smaller. This handsome chap had a bend in his nose that certainly didn't warrant the risks of surgery -so we injected to give lift, and above and below the dorsal hump to smooth and straighten it.

There is no down time, minimal swelling (we didn't even use a needle!), you can go straight back to work. This nose drooped downwards, but we picked it up by injecting under the columella, and around the tip, in tiny increments. Even though filler has been added, the nose looks significantly smaller.

Top ups within 6 months are half price.

An #InjusticeAmongUs Story
⠀⠀

Rain falls, wind blows, and trees bend in reverence to each. Such forces of nature however, are not the storm that comes. Not the lighting that even now cracks open the Gotham night sky. For someone comes -- a hooded figure which lands from flight, their features hidden under a long black cloak. Though none from without can tell or decipher, they that move is a woman. One that crawls over the fence at the rear of a large, half-decayed building. A building with bars at its windows, and heavy metal at it doors. The quality forging and modern craftsmanship of such barricades will stop her. Not this woman. Not tonight. Not ever. A fact made plain, as the hooded woman reaches out and bends open the bars, doing so until they break, one by one, with a loud ¡PLACK! sound, leaving a hole large enough for their destructor to fit. Fit she then does, pulling herself inside of Gotham’s legendary Arkham Asylum. ⠀⠀

Moments and minutes pass, as the intruder slips through the darkness and shadows. “You hear that?” A guard asks as he leans back precariously in his wooden chair, his feet balanced upon the console before him.
⠀⠀
“Hear, what...? I’m trying to listening to Game 2 of the Finals here, big guy…. Tonight is Lebron’s night! I know it!” His compatriot responds irritated, shaking his head as he once again uses his Ear-Pods to block out another night at a job he hates.

When I first started teaching myself yoga in my backyard 4 years ago, it was only the asana, the physical practice, that I was interested in. I wanted to bend and stretch and fold in half like everyone I saw on Instagram, and I would often push myself far beyond my limits to nail a pose or to get that perfect picture.
But as I kept learning, it was the spiritual side of yoga, the way it quietened my mind, that really caught my attention. I started learning about mindfulness, meditation, the ego and the soul, and so much of it spoke to me. So much of what I could never seem to explain or understand started to just make sense. I felt like I was coming home to myself.
These days, I’ve lost some of the flexibility I established when I first started yoga, but I’ve gained things that to me are far more valuable. A strong sense of self, a better understanding of the mind and the ego, greater patience, acceptance, and awareness, and a sense of being grounded...less...flakey and malleable.
Turning big waves into ripples, every damn day. That’s my kind of yoga 🙏🏽✨🌊 #Yoga @lululemonausnz #TheSweatLife

When we are soft, we are malleable. When we are malleable, we can bend in the wind without breaking - like bamboo. This means that when a serious challenge arises, we don’t snap in half, rather we can take in the situation, allow the energy to transform us and then put that fresh expression of ourselves back out into the world. It is softness that is strength. Vulnerability is courage. Allowing ourselves to experience pain and suffering makes us simultaneously softer and stronger.

Extended Hand to Big Toe Pose in Half Camel Pose – boy that’s a month full 😂. I love how beautiful this pose looks. I think what makes this pose because is everything it took to get to the full expression. So much is going on in this pose. It’s a combination of balance, backbend, shoulder flexibility, core and splits – the entire body.
Warm ups: Everything you can possible think of 😅.. but really

Back: Cobra, up dog, superman, floor bow, dancers pose, scorpion (any variation), fish pose, puppy pose, camel.

Legs & Hips: High&low lunge with slight back bend, triangle, revolved triangle, Warrior 1,2,3, Pigeon, hamstring and quad stretches, splits, splits on the wall

Take your time, remember, its more about keeping a steady flow in your breath then finding more depth in your pose.

BLOCKS: use different levels of the blocks, keep lowering down to different levels when you’re ready too. Then eventually the ground.☺️❤️

I did 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise (for single-leg exercises, do 10 reps on each leg) Beginners, see how 2 sets feel before repeating a third time. This is a superset circuit workout; you will do 10 reps of the first exercise and immediately complete 10 reps of the second exercise. Then you will rest for 60 seconds and move on to the second superset. After the third superset, rest for 60 seconds again, and then repeat the workout.
