As a BROKE full time collegiate Athlete 🏈 🏃🏾 and full time student 👨🏾‍🎓 I only joined this business originally to take a load off my moms back from sending me food and money 💰. My mother is my rock and she’s been working so hard for so long so I made a 94$ investment to start my own business with Herbalife Nutrition, and BOY did this company save my life. After my first month in the business I was able to tell my mother she never had to send me money or food ever again. That alone felt more amazing than actually graduating from college with 2 degrees (bachelors of science). So as I was able to get paid more for doing what I already love doing, USING THE PRODUCTS, WEARING THE BRAND, SHARING MY JOURNEY WITH OTHERS, AND GOING TO TRAININGS, and GETTING RESULTS.
As I continued to do that it only broadened my vision for what was possible in this amazing company. Now I do this for others who can afford rent, phone bills, car payments, child support etc. I do this for people who hate their current job and feel stuck, and wish for new opportunities, I do this for who are uncomfortable with what they look like and wish to change their figures and build their health, and most importantly now I do this to RETIRE my mother and SOLIDIFY THE 💼 💰 FOR FINANCIAL FREEDOM FOR MY DAUGHTER 👶🏽 👸🏽!

Yesterday, I was fortunate to be a part of the Kick-Off Ceremony for a Global Health & Wellness Challenge for @_drivefitness_. This unique initiative was created through their corporate partnership with @nc_fit. This Corporate RISE Challenge will mimic many of the same components and resources provided with past NCFIT RISE programs we have completed in recent years. This includes providing expert support in Fitness, Nutrition and Mindset development to assist participants in reaching their desired Health and Wellness lifestyle goals. Our ultimate goal is to help the participants, across all the global sites, to gain a greater sense of control over their health and to feel more confident in their ability to be positive, present and productive in the workplace, in the gym, and at home.
Each week, I will be presenting a seminar on a different Performance Mindset tools. We are looking for incremental change, so each week the tools will build off of each other. The participants will be challenged to individualize each tool and practice it throughout the week. They will be required to reflect and share insights with the Global community of participants. In my opinion, if you implement these three to your daily routine, change WILL happen. •
1. Consistency: following the same principles day in day out will get results. Staying in A calorie deficit consistently instead of overeating continuously WILL get results. Consistently going to the gym and getting your fitness regime boxed off each time WILL get results. Making the small changes daily and doing them repetitively are what over a log persons... gets RESULTS.
2. Control; control is a good one, in many forms this relates. Control your portions of food when making a meal. Control every repetition on your weights during an exercise, making sure you really understand that mind to muscle connection. Control your mind. Place yourself in a positive environment and mental place. Learn how to step out of a negative zone and control how you allow yourself to feel.
3. Choice; very simple. We all have the CHOICE what we do. You can choose to make a change, to be healthier, to go and get the exercise in rather than go and sit at home. You have the CHOICE whether you eat that processed food, make the unhealthy selection as opposed to the healthier Choice. You Choose what you buy from the supermarket, what you spend your money on. Making the correct choices and investing in your health, investing in your food choices, you can choose to spend your day on a negative frame of mind, or you can choose to eliminate those element. Prioritising yourself is essential!! •
You can do it too. Don’t be afraid. You just have to want to make that initial change. •

Well, results are in! Even though this was just a week of no alcohol, drinking all the water, daily workouts, portioned out meal prep, working on my mindset, and offering tips and support along the way, I still saw a lot of positive change! ⚡️ .

I lost a pound and 2.5 inches around my waist 🙀, my energy levels have increased significantly, I feel a LOT more clear headed, and my endurance has also improved in my workouts (lifting heavier too which is a plus 💪🏻🔥). .

I’m about to start working with a pregnancy nutritionist and start tracking all the great nutrients I need. I love working side by side with someone who has been there done that. My brain loves to have a plan and an accountability buddy when it comes to the science of nutrition.
Still working Pilates, strength training and half marathon training into the fitness side!
I am watching others detox and kick off their 2018 goals.
I am a little gutted I can’t do a cleanse/fasting day, mostly for mental clarity and gut health but know I will soon enough and I’m excited for all the new people who are in for a great year of health.
What I am creating is a life coaching and nutritional rebalancing program called “Happiness is an inside job”. As I believe if you change your internal world with nutrition and mindset and your whole world can change.

He told me that he is doing better in school, he’s getting better in his health, he putting in more effort in everything in his LIFE and getting results, and he was truly thankful that I was able to impact his life. Any good coach realizes the importance of rejeime, structure and consistency in a training programme. Progressively overloading muscles in a structured manor while working in line with a considered diet is a sure fire way to get results. HOWEVER, unless you are an extremely driven individual which a specific goal and time frame (most of us aren't) another element comes into play, boredom.

We all start a new regime with exciteable determination but how long before this begins to waver? For me this is around the 4/5 week mark. My focus becomes less Intense during workouts and I find it harder to stimulate my mind. Changing the regime or adjustting the goal is a tactic that is comunly used to combat this but the issue here is that there is no optimal time frame to stay on a particular programme. Peoples bodies respond differently to stimulus so if a programme is still rewarding you with good results and progress then, quite simply, don't change it. Save this variation for a time when your results platea. -
So what can we do to re-focus and re-energise? A CHEAT WORKOUT. reward your hard work by doing whatever the hell you want. It doesn't have to make sense or follow the rules. Strong man, mountain biking, swimming etc. try something new the excites or challenges you in a different way and if your feeling really rebellious eat your favorite meal afterwards as well.....

This is not a failure or even a side step it is simply a way of encouraging longevity with regards to your health and wellbeing. Sometimes training isn't about goals and results it's about breaking free from negative energy, releasing positive endorphins and feeling damb good about yourself!

Before looking at the specifics of injurys both prehab and rehab (as I intent to do in future posts) it is important to first talk about the effect injurys can have on mental health and how to approach such events in a positive manor. For me there are 3 key issues here....... . .
1. ACCEPTANCE - this is perhaps the biggest barrier anyone that is a keen trainer will have to overcome. It is an acknowledgement that your training will not be able to continue in the same manor due to an external factor and your goals will have to be revisited. This leads us on to....
. .
2. ADAPTABILITY - after acknowledging the issue it is important that we do not allow it to take over our positive state of mind. Instead we now need to re-visit our goals and lay out a new program that allows us to work around this limitation while adding other eliments to our training/nutritionm/wellness plan. Things to consider here; do we need to change the intensity of our training? Do we need to adjust our callorie intake in line with out new programme? Do we need to introduce a structural day to our split? Can we treat this period of time as specialization of a lagging part? Do we need to impose a striter recovery rejime (stretching/sleep/diet/mobility)? The list goes on but the important thing to remember is that something has changed NOT ended, we now simply have a new purpose and a new aim to set our mind to! . .
3. ACCOUNTABILITY - this is the difference between success and failure yet is by far the simplest of all 3 stages. DO IT! Accepting and planning for so etching you didn't initially want or ask for is no easy task so if you have made it to this stage do yourself a favor and commit to it! I used to take progress pictures religiously every single week, then twice a week, then almost every second day. But it became a terrible way to start my day as I didn’t wake up and appreciate my body, I woke up to search for what needed improving, what had improved, what could be “fixed”. Progress pictures are the best way to judge how you are progressing with any programme or fitness challenge, because the scales has a million and two reasons it can fluctuate. But at the same time, progress pictures should not be a “lifelong” habit IF every time you take them, you are continuously looking for “improvements” from your previous photos or areas to improve on, and it’s bringing down your mental health. .
Taking selfies, and progress photos, or check ins, should be about loving yourself in that moment whatever shape you are. Accepting what changes have or will come, with a positive mindset. .
My feed sometimes becomes saturated with “progress photos” and check ins - some of which are HELLA BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE... picking out everything that’s wrong with their reflection and being hard on themselves. 😞 Not realising how many others look at this, wishing they could even be at that level. Now a days my “check ins” have a totally different mindset. .
I used to think each one had to be “better” physically. But it doesn’t freaking matter if it’s different. It’s about being healthier, happier, and teaching both you and I to be accepting of all our bodies can do whilst we chip away at our goals. .
SO HERES ME TODAY - “Checking in” - to say hi 👋 I’ve been training away, but training my mind harder. Not searching for what’s changed or focusing on what needs changing - just accepting myself as I am and whatever change that’s to come.

You don’t need to change x, y and z about yourself this week. You need a change in perspective and higher self esteem. Confidence looks good on you. Health looks good on you 💗🙋‍♀️.

I got as good as I have at transforming people's lives because I had to go through it myself, I knew the struggle, the pain, the failure, the self doubt, the negative people trying to bring you down but I have also known the happiness, the health, the success, the positive people lifting me up and the pure joy. I wanted everyone to breakthrough their walls and come out the best version of themselves. Over the years I have got slightly obsessed with it, lol. My clients think I'm crazy but they know where my heart is and we WILL Succeed!! I made a choice in 1997 to take control of my choices and to change my life, I didn't have anyone to teach me the lifestyle, didn't have anyone to mentor me mentally through it , I just knew I wanted change and willing to put the work in to get to a great place inside and out.I learned very quickly that my choices would determine most of everything as my life proceeded. I spent countless hours trying to understand the body, how it worked, how nutrition played its part, working out, cardio, fat loss, muscle gain, internal health and most importantly how the mind worked. That was the key, if I convinced myself I could do it, then I would and that's exactly what I did.
THE WAY WE LOOK AT THINGS MATTER
You see Fitness isn't a Punishment, it's a Blessing.

I have been taught (by some great human beings) And self educated in fitness. Using my passion, mental focus and determination I refused and STILL refuse to give up on my goals. There is NOT one method. There is not ONE ANSWER to transforming your body. To making change. Diet fads and “catch all plans” are ‘NOT REAL. What I DO. May not be what YOU need to do... All I can say is once you find your motivation. Be it health. Or something as specifically as cosplay. STICK WITH IT. Even if you fall. Get back up. Even if you can only jump on the grenade at first. Realize and SEE yourself with the super serum. Not every one was born an Amazon or a Kryptonian. An THATS WHATS BEAUTIFUL . We are not perfect. We are NOT these characters. But we can STRIVE towards the positive aspects of them for their morals and look to them as motivation both internal and external. Yes, I’ve always wanted to be strong. I’ve wanted to feel, look, and BE strong af. The way I train supports this motive. I think most of you feel and train the same way, and that’s prob a part of why you’re seeing this.

However, I do want to use this to highlight two major problems I see with the health + fitness industry today.
.
1️⃣Holding onto the Trend Pendulum as it swings from one extreme to the next. For example: I’m all for focusing on how you feel over how you look, but shaming people who want to change their appearance? I’m not here for that. 🙅🏼‍♀️ I’m all for getting women to try a barbell, but to tell people who don’t use them that they’re doing it wrong? Nope. Which leads me to this one:

2️⃣Thinking that just because YOU want this, everyone else does too. Assuming we understand everyone else’s motives, goals, wants and needs is dangerous. Shaming people who train one modality because it doesn’t align with YOUR goals isn’t cool. Not everyone wants to be strong af. And that’s ok. Everyone has their reasons and things that drive them, which we know nothing about.
.
🌟Remember that fitness isn’t always about getting strong (or even fit!) af. It serves purposes way beyond any of that, which are just as (if not more), valuable: Being present in your skin, feeling alive and healthy, doing what your body is saying it wants, exploring your physicality, supporting your mental health, and more.
.
And that shit isn’t one size fits all. Go after what you want with everything you have and be proud of it! Get excited about it! Share! ⚠️ But be mindful that you aren’t taking YOUR goals, beliefs, and motives and putting them on everyone else, or that you’re SO far into one extreme you can’t see middle ground anymore. Just as there’s no ONE diet for everyone, there’s no wrong way to fitness.

I used to drink booze like a fish. All day er day. Even tho I ate like shit and drank I somehow was still very active in Hockey and the gym but never seen results.. What I truly have learned is that everything is Built in the Kitchen 100%... thanks for the help @martawdkwski “now We Don’t have to shave in my six pack” 😂 ! I learned I wasn’t gonna change physically unless I fed my body the proper nutrients. Lesson learned. Although I have not reached my goals, Im finally glad I was able to make a change and look forward to a new positive me...I feel better ,look healthier & YES I totally bumped up the contrast cuz it looked much better 😂🇺🇸👊🏽💪🏽 P.S HUGE thanks to @witnesstheart For the constant motivation 👆🏽🙏 #GOALS #fitness @danapointtattoo is gonna have a blast with this🤦🏼‍♂️

No one just wakes up one day and wishes bad habits to go away, and they do.
You must replace them with Good ones. Which takes awareness immediate action.

You might be someone who never exercises when you come home from work because part of your daily routine involves opening the mail on the couch, which leads to putting your feet up, which leads to watching two hours of television instead of putting on your gym clothes and going for a workout.
Instead of sitting down on the couch, go to your bed room and immediately put on your gym clothes and head out the door, don’t allow yourself to get comfortable on the couch. This one single break in pattern, after 3-5 days, will start to become your new routine.
That’s just one little example.

You must have the conscience awareness that when you see yourself starting to feed the bad habit, you immediately stop yourself and replace that with something positive. Disrupt the pattern immediately. This takes a lot of focus and awareness every single day.

It’s definitely not the easiest thing to do, reason being, 90% of our actions throughout the day is us simply acting on habit. We are on Autopilot.

That's why writing goals, and writing down what you are doing day to day and recapping the day is so vital to your success.
Seeing what are some things you might be doing day to day, that if you replace them with something better, this new habit repeated day after day, in 3 months, 6 months, you can be in a complete different situation. Leaps and bounds further than you would have been without making the change.

Whether it's your health and physical appearance, or your finances, or anything you would like to change for the better! It can change by changing your current daily routine. Your habits.

Just remember, each day, you are either feeding good habits, or you're feeding bad ones.
You're either getting better or you're getting worse.
You get to decide.....

It took my a year to walk again and I spent some time stuck to a board with a catheter. I still get a lot of pain and struggle & it’s majorly affected my confidence and health! ___________________________________________________ despite all of that, I’m using this to motivate me. I haven’t tracked my macros in a month and I’ve started again today. I didn’t follow my training regime either, I’ve done that since last Monday 💁🏼‍♀️. I learnt through this experience that your goals need to be manageable. Learning to walk was too much. I had to work out how to achieve that goal. Learn to sit up, learn to stand up, learn to apply weight to a broken pelvis, learn to use crutches... My point is, I want to get this bikini body, because at 27 years old I still lack confidence and don’t like myself. I lost sight of the shore and put a lot of weight on. I want to be strong, I don’t want to feel that vulnerable again.. that’s why I realised each day is a new goal to smash, each meal on track and each gym session I enjoy! I’m not working till failure anymore and I’m not missing any meals. This weeks goal is to go to bed and get 8 hours sleep a night, it’s the thing I struggle with most! ________________________________________________________ Never give up, never seek revenge (it’s all consuming), never forget where you came from, never ever think you aren’t on the right path because all paths are different. Remember that everyday is a new slate to do better than yesterday. I say all of this because it’s hard to obtain when you’re being overly critical and judgmental towards yourself based on societies standards or someone else’s standards. Beautiful and healthy come in all shapes and sizes and chances are the people who are quick to hand out opinions about you and your life are having a hard time figuring out theirs! So be kind to not just the people around you but to yourself first and foremost! Say something good about yourself each and everyday! Practice positive self talk until you firmly believe it! The biggest part of this journey is mental! Not the working out or even the eating! It’s making a mental transformation so you fully are aware of why you want to change and strong enough to make the smart food choices to heal your body. 💪🏼 I am using my anti-inflammatory plans, my own tips on my plans, and weights 3-4 days a week. So what happens when we are inundated with unrealistic/undesirable expectations? What happens when our perception of our self is ... How do you see yourself?

Our idea of who/what we are, is often a combination of:

A.) What We think others perceive us to be
B.) How we perceive ourself
.
So what happens when we are inundated with unrealistic/undesirable expectations? What happens when our perception of our self is blurred or negative? How does this change our own personal perception of our self? And what are the implications when we are effected in such a way?
.
When the mind is altered and focus is diminished, one may lose sight of goals. Losing sight of our goals may lead to feeling a lack of purpose and potentially lead one into a state of depression.
.
So how do we tackle our perception of our self & How do we find motivation when one may feel defeated?
.
Seven things that come to mind are:
1.) Never compare yourself to others... First off, your perception of others is likely extremely different from the reality.
2.) Provide yourself with positive feedback on a daily basis! Your self talk has a huge effect on who you are right now and who you will be tomorrow. Enforce that you are awesome... Because you are ❤️
3.)Determine what counts to you, for your work life and home life.
4.)Be Persistent... It’s normal to fail. In fact, in order to be successful, we require a certain amount of failure. Follow your passion/purpose and don't stop.
5.)Self care. Look after your health and well-being mentally and physically.
6.)Maslows Hierarchy of Needs. This never goes away. So for a healthy self, make sure to take note of this! Priorities are priorities.
7.)Be Grateful.
Living to societal standards often leads to a poor sense of self. So, why not determine what it is that provides purpose for YOU and let that be a guide to the journey of a happier self.

I choose to take a stand for the people I represent, to help them plan their future and reach their real estate goals. It is also important to me that I incorporate myself within and give back to the community I do business in. Toward this goal, I would love to uplift, motivate and inspire whenever I can. Our physical and mental health is truly our greatest wealth and I value that for others. For that reason I've teamed up with health coach and yoga master, Marina Stirdivant Belmonte @yogarays_ and KASE agent, Corinne Ramos @ggzkitchen to collaborate on perfecting the Art of Mindfulness. Mindful in the way we love ourselves first and foremost. From that space, we can all make a positive impact in the way we chose to live day-to-day. Annette was in my first challenge, this last one, and will be in the next one. These are her changes just from the last challenge alone. She as well has thyroid issues. (Hashimotos and hypothyroidism) The first challenge she didn’t see many body changes or weight loss and slowly learned to not get discouraged from that and to focus on the fact that she was healing her body and thyroid by the way she was eating. She started this next challenge with that same mentality and noticing all small changes. I had lots of email conversations with her about speaking daily to her body “I am healing and will be healed” and saying it like it’s already happened. To stress less because our bodies respond to our stress and our frustrations. She’s been doing the AI plan and finished the last challenge with the jump start and also started my smoothie detox and is currently doing that. I chose Annette not just from her amazing body changes this last 6 weeks but chose her because despite how slow her progress was in the first challenge- she never stopped, she never let it be a reason to give up. She trusted me and the process and her body responded. Her perseverance and positive attitude is something I am so proud of ! I know from personal experience how frustrating it can be to see everyone changing around you and barely see any of your own changes but it is our choice if we choose to give in to those frustrations. I've been doing this for about 5 years now and it's taken all the pressure off of Jan 1. I no longer feel like everything in my life has to change overnight. I can take my time, deliberate, do gut checks, pray about the possibilities and how I want things to unfold according to what matters in my life right now.

I also have a higher success rate of reaching my goals because they're more thought out, reasonable and really driven by my core values & desires.

Here are a few things I'll be making space for in #2018

Beginning a Funny Lifestyle Blog (equal parts laughing, learning and life lessons)

Hosting Positive Psychology workshops (teaching science based strategies for living a more positive lifestyle as well as how to strengthen resilience skills)

Scheduling a few small home reno projects at Bungalomel

Embracing (and making time for) self care as a daily practice

Releasing some weight and gaining good health (kicking that off by doing #WHOLE30 in January)

Celebrating life with loved ones (hosting gatherings, dinners and picking up the phone more!)

Cherishing my hubby (planning date nights & weekend jaunts & non TV nights)

Volunteering 2x a month

Strengthening my faith 🙏🏻

Tackling ALL.THE. CLUTTER.

Reading 1 book a week (my backlog will last 5 years at this rate 🙄)

It may feel more overwhelming than exciting right now, or it may be an even mix of both (hello bump!) but that’s cool, now you’ve just got to learn to play at that new level, like graduating from school to uni, taking on a promotion at work, or leveling up in your fave PlayStation game (do they still have PlayStations? I dunno! Haha). So often in my work I see people getting upset about change, or letting their emotional state drive their day into a downward spiral. But it’s often more useful to really “look at” the situation, the struggle, the health crisis, the relationship, the mood, and to assess as an outsider would what’s really going on and where the potential for a positive shift lies. Could working through this phase/issue make you stronger, teach you a life lesson you will be grateful for later, force you to hone in on your long-term health, help you get out of a relationship that’s not serving you, or encourage you to take on more responsibility or solve a niggling problem? Rather than riding the emotional waves over and over, and feeling scared of a new situation, considering what new level it could propel you to if you approach it in the right way can really help you step up. In my experience rating what creates long term health and fitness success is having a support system.

The best support often comes from the people who are close to you in your life. Getting support from people you are close to is very important to your physical and emotional health.

Partners can provide a powerful combination of support, accountability, motivation and, in some cases healthy competition.

You’re most successful at reaching your goals when the people closest to you are on board. ✨
Another solution is finding a workout buddy. A workout partner can motivate you to do one more set, continue when you feel like you just had enough or when you want to just give up.

Personal support is essential. We seek positive reinforcement of others especially when we are doing work.

A lot of people in your life can provide social support. These can include your partner or spouse, your kids, parents or other family members, friends, colleges and coaches.

Get a good coach! A good coach can help you reach your goals easier. You don’t necessary have to workout with them each and every session, but checking in with them regularly is the best way to help keep yourself on track.

Understand that even if you have a good knowledge in fitness and training, having a coach evaluating what you’re doing can be very beneficial.

Don’t go through your fitness journey alone! Your results will be much higher with people who care about you and are on your side. You will enjoy the process much more.

5 1/2 years ago I was introduced to the industry and I fell in love with all aspects of helping people earn extra money to helping them with health goals, to helping them see what they were capable! I mean I am obsessed with it!
~
In 2016 my dad passed away from pancreatic cancer at 55, after 6 months diagonals. This moment in time changed me, it changed me in so many ways, I fell into a deep depression and suffered from panic attacks and anxiety for a long while! In January 2017 I took a leap of faith and left my position in my first company because I needed a change! Many didn’t understand but I did it for me and my family! Only 9 short weeks later I reached the highest rank in that company and felt more alive then I have in a long time!

I am passionate about helping people live the life they deserve and work their booty for! And while I have so much more I could say, I just want you to know if you are following me that I am real, I won’t spam you, I won’t bother you or bombard your with products or my opportunity infact that crap drives me nuts! I want to break that crappy tactic and show the world you can do what I do and not work that way!

2️⃣ Does your investment strategy make sense? If you’re “spending” more 💵 than you “make” on a daily / weekly basis you MIGHT compensate for a while. Eventually, recovery debt will cost you more than realize.

My two bits of advice I have for you are to 1️⃣ Soak in your happiest moments. Don’t try to capture them with your phone and send them to a snap or insta story instantaneously so that you can justify to your followers that you have a full life. Because in doing that, guess what just happened? You missed out on extra moments of bliss, happiness, and priceless life. I’m guilty of it too. Don’t worry, our brains remember the happy days. They remember the dopamine high that made your soul feel it’s most alive. Our bodies capture the smells, sights, feel, sounds for decades to come. Just live in the moment. The second bit of advice I have for you: 2️⃣. At any moment in your life, you have the power and the ownership of your own life to say “this is not how my story is going to go on or will end.” Whatever is holding you down today I pray you know that you have the power to change the storyboard of your life. You have the power to write off characters in your story. You can switch out the backdrop. You have the power to change your physique or job title. Who else has the authority to change any of these things? Only you, my love. 🖤 I don’t say this blindly as such wanderlust millennial, either. I know change and plot twists require resources, strategic planning, and time. Positive disruption is not immediate 99% of the time. Are those lifestyle changes diet culture in disguise?
Holiday season is well and truly upon us. January will see New Year resolutions being made (and broken just as hastily!) with “lifestyle changes“ a fairly common one, it’s important we recognise what this actually means.
It is particularly problematic when folks present themselves as non-diet, anti-diet or body positive only to then throw out the line “Lifestyle changes & healthy habits add up to achieve goals —> invariably the goal is weight loss and/or an aspiration to look like the person selling this message (typically a thin, attractive woman).
Some folks do genuinely believe this line, some want to believe it and yes, there are absolutely folks intentionally serving this line to peddle anti-fat products and services.
It really doesn’t matter if you call your portion control, calorie counting (looking at you WW), fasting, “healthy swaps”, exclusions or meal plan a diet or lifestyle change. It’s a diet, & we have the evidence [a LEVEL A evidence statement via the National Health and Medical Research Council] stating that weight gain will occur in almost ALL folks who intentionally attempt weight loss via lifestyle interventions.
As @ragenchastain put’s it: “When people say “It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change” what I hear is”It’s a lifestyle where you diet all of the time” and it *still* probably won’t result in a thinner or healthier body.” [I’ve linked Ragen’s fantastic commentary on this topic in bio].
This line is a go-to in the diet industry because it firmly places the blame back in your court, the client, as the failure not the diet or “lifestyle” change sold.
Folks, be critical of the content consumed - what is being sold? A product? A service? A dream? The thin ideal?

Take a minute and think about what you’ve said to yourself today. Was it critical? Or was it kind and helpful? Positive self-talk is not self-deception. It is not mentally looking at circumstances with eyes that see only what you want to see. Rather, positive self-talk is about recognizing the truth, in situations and in yourself. One of the fundamental truths is that you will make mistakes. To expect perfection in yourself or anyone else is unrealistic. .
Some advice I’ve been practicing recently when I catch myself engaging in negative self talk is first to stop and question its validity, but also replacing those negative words with neutral or positive affirmations. I even try to practice this in the way I speak with others and especially clients. Instead of saying something like, “the problem is...” I replace that with “the challenge is...” But this little change can change the entire meaning of the sentence. A problem is something that is difficult to deal with, while a challenge is something empowering with opportunity for growth. .

Loving my new ride and cankles 😂🤪🤦🏻‍♀️. Guys! I was so discouraged when I found out I broke my foot and sprained it pretty bad 😩. I thought it was just a sprain so I walked on it for 2 days. We were staying in Houston with my brother after it happened and his wife convinced me to go to the insta care. After feeling sorry for myself and shedding a few tears I decided no good will come from sitting around and whining about it. So I picked myself up and took myself to the gym today. Not that I can really do much but just being there and doing what I could totally lifted my spirits and helped change my attitude. I’m a big believer in being grateful/positive to change your circumstances. So all though I’m hurt, I won’t let it knock me down. Nothing good ever comes out of being upset and down. Find the positive in every situation. My positive here is that I’m only down for 6 weeks and no surgery! 🙌🏼

I am so grateful and excited for a New Year/new beginning. A few of my goals for this year:
1. Stay positive no matter what. I’m getting better at this with practice. Practice makes perfect, as I tell my kids 😉. 2. Be grateful every single day. Today I am so grateful I ‘usually’ have all working limbs. Sounds silly but you just don’t know how tough it is to get around without one working! I can handle riding around on my scooter for 6 weeks 🤪. Be grateful, even if life feels too tough. We all have something to be grateful for and you’ll find a lot as you start practicing this.........

So here is a pretty cool story for you. 🙊 I love surprising people when they least expect it because seeing people happy and their reactions from something pretty big is what lights me up and excites the shit out of me! 🇺🇸 ✈️ @ssimeone_ (a professional dancer) reached out to me when she saw I was coming to Melbs this weekend. She lives in Melbourne. I said come out to breakfast and have a coffee with me on Friday. Friday morning we met for the first time. Two hours later we shared our stories and our life in a nutshell. We clicked and as you can see in this pic we are both wearing RED lays which represent our personalities and traits. (Leaders, driven, stubborn, direct, persistent, go getters and just makes shit happen). I knew from this point that I wanted her to know more about what I do for a living.
So, I then mentioned to her I have a business/ personal development conference for three days at the crown and I asked if she wanted to come. I invited her along because I wanted her to see and experience something that I’m super passionate about. She said yes, yes to a new opportunity and yes to a new experience!
Yesterday, (Sunday afternoon) she had told me she absolutely loved the weekend and it has opened her eyes to the opportunity that is now given to her with her health goals and her financial situation.
SO... as part of my Isabody winning prize I have a +1 to take overseas with me. I then decided to ask her if she wanted to be my +1 to America in 6 weeks (yes we only just met but why not give someone an bloody once in a lifetime experience)!!!!! She said yes! An all expenses, 5 star trip to USA!!! Why the heck not 🙌🏽✨ Moral of this story is yes, we have gone from strangers to now a trip together to the US but, I also wanted to say, why not say yes to a world full of no’s because some opportunities don’t come around twice and by stepping out of your comfort zone can truly can be the foundation of a positive change within your life. I know personally if I never said yes three years ago I wouldn’t be rocking a fit bod, helping people and living the life I do now. 🏋🏽‍♀️🤸🏾‍♀️

4 years ago as a new mom I started to feel lost. I was looking to increase my own accountability to my fitness & health goals & just be in a more positive place overall, so I invested in a Virtual Fitness Program. ⁣⁣

Initially I ONLY became a “coach” to get a discount (keeping it real 😉), & I thought it would be fun to connect with other like-minded ladies to help them get started, & maybe even earn back my initial investment of 200 on my virtual fitness program (that I felt so guilty about) because I viewed it as a “selfish” expense. ⁣⁣

I had no clue that what I thought was a “selfish expense” & just a “Virtual Fitness program” would not only get me in the best shape & health of my life, but would also change my and my families life by... ⁣⁣

* Allowing me to be HOME & present everyday of our girls lives ⁣⁣
* Pay off all our debt⁣⁣
* Afford private school for our oldest⁣⁣
* Take numerous international vacations⁣⁣
* Have more financial security for our future ⁣⁣

Here are ways to reach your health and fitness goals which will give you happiness:

1.  Set goals that make sense.  Your goals should be based around what you need to change to create a healthy lifestyle. eg. healthy eating, movement, lifestyle changes (better sleep, reducing stress etc.). The outcomes of these goals and action steps create outcomes like lower body fat, increased energy and better relationship with food etc. ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️
2.  Realizing food is not the enemy.  Cutting out everything you love isn't necessarily supporting your goals.  Food only gets in your way if you don't portion control, eat mindfully and eat things less favorable in moderation. ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️
3. Healthy food can and is very tasty!  We put a stigma on foods that are healthy as being bland, boring and tasting like tree bark.  But all healthy foods can be so incredibly flavorful by combining the right foods and using herbs and spices.  Herbs and spices are actually full of nutrients!  So the more the merrier! ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️
4.  Avoid eating the same foods all the time.  First off it is better to rotate foods to avoid getting intolerances and it prevents boredom.  When you get sick of food your tendancy is to reach for your less favorable choices. ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️
5.  MOVE!  You need exercise and healthy eating to create a healthy lifestyle.  Move every day.  3 times a week do things you love (dancing, swimming, yoga, walking etc) and 3 times a week challenge yourself (weight-training, boxing, HIIT)

If i feel down, i can just read back and see how amazing and lucky i am to be alive let alone have the opportunities i have on a daily basis.

So when setting goals we always see them as positive, but what if they are actually holding you back? Sometimes we want something that isn't actually good for us. The end goal maybe amazing but if the journey causes you daily suffering is that worth it? Iv come to believe you should be happy and enjoy each day, so now if my goal doesn't fit to that principle, the goal must change!

Sometimes letting go is the best thing for you and choosing to focus your energy in a new direction can be much more positive and productive!

📝With a normal barbell on this exercise my hands are in a pronated grip (overhand) so at the top of the lift,my elbows are flared out a bit from my body.This feels uncomfortable to me.With the hex bar, my hands are in a neutral position (hammer grip), so as I lift, it enables me to keep my elbows much closer to my sides and I feel in a much stronger position.This is only my preference,it may be different for you but try them both and see how you get on👊🏼

6 weeks is definitely not a long period of time so I’m super happy with how my body has changed. My sole focus for this year hasn’t been based around aesthetics but rather overall health, happiness and strength. ❤️ I’ve tended to skew more towards performance based goals and fuelling my body to train rather than look or feel a certain way. I’ve been working with Joey @protein_and_chemicals and he has introduced me to the world of macro counting and power lifting! I think I asked him four times at first, “So you’re saying I can still eat pizza, kfc and chocolate and still get results” LOL. Everything in moderation but as you can see there’s been a change in my body shape and drop in body fat whilst still going out and not stressing about eating a burger or having a cocktail with my girlfriends but ensuring that majority of my calorie intake comes from macro dense meals. My mindset has changed to have a positive relationship with food and training and that’s what the biggest transformation of all! ☺️🙌🏽 I’m still working on myself every day to be the best version of myself. After this 6 weeks block I went overseas and got food poisoning 😫 which resulted in taking a few steps back with my training and hitting my macros! Our bodies are capable of doing some pretty amazing things and I just wanted to write this post to remind you girls that everyone is on their own journey and to never compare yourself to someone’s else. ✨ It has always been one of my main messages to you ladies, that you SHOULDN’T be afraid to lift weights or eat your favourite meals due to the fear of looking bulky or gaining weight! I want to show you that you can be STRONG and FEMININE. 👊🏽💗 Love,

I’ve been feeling like I’ve been stuck in a health slump lately and I’m so ready for a change - a big one! I feel like all I’ve been doing for the past 4 months is working, eating heavy foods, and embracing my laziness (so not me) - It’s really starting to take its toll on me.
So I’m making a change starting TODAY! Why am I telling you? Well, I believe that accountability can be huge in our abilities to change and recreate habits - we can easily let others down but it’s always been harder for me to let others down who have expectations of me (probably a good and bad thing). I also believe that change is much more powerful in numbers - we all can create positive shifts together and spread that inspiration to others!

I used to be an extremist when it came to my health (to the point of annoyance and obsession) so its hard for me to find balance between being healthy while still allowing myself indulgence. I’ve always struggled with moderation - all in or out kinda gal (I’m working on it) but as of now, I’ve completely fallen in the opposite and unhealthy direction. This has nothing to do with losing 10 pounds or wanting washboard abs because let’s be real, a six pack is not the key to happiness. I want to FEEL good again - mentally, physically, energetically, emotionally, etc. When I take care of myself, I feel good and that feeling trickles out and I in turn become more motivated, more productive, and more genuinely HAPPY. It’s hard not to - treat yourself good and you will feel good.
So on that note, what does this mean? I am making a change starting NOW! I’m gonna jumpstart my health and self love routines to get myself back on track. Negative thoughts drain you of energy and keep you from being in the present moment. The more you give into negative thoughts, the stronger they become. Imagine the image of a small ball rolling along the ground; as it rolls it becomes bigger and faster.
That's what one small negative thought can turn into: a huge, speeding ball of ugliness. On the contrary, a small positive thought can have the same effect blossoming into a beautiful outcome.
Let's look at our five things we recommend to overcome negative thoughts:
1. Meditate Or Do Yoga.
⊙ Believe it or not, yoga and meditation is a very relaxing way to control your thoughts. Breathing helps you stay focussed on the now. The only moment that matters, is the most important moment.

2. Smile.
⊙ Just by smiling can help change your mood, and create a positive vibe. It really does help change your mood and relieve stress. It also makes you feel lighter because it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown.

3. Surround Yourself With Positive Like Minded People.
⊙ This is vital. Having negative people in your life WILL lead to your negative demise, make no mistake about that. Changing who you surround yourself with will help your mind and change your whole outlook on what it is you're trying to accomplish. Remember, you are average of the five people you surround yourself with.

4. Don't Play The Victim. YOU Create Your Life - Take Responsibility.
⊙ Remember no matter how bad you have it, there's always someone worse of than you. Take control of your life, even if your situation becomes unbearable, there is always a way out. You always have the choice to make changes — so make the right ones.

5. List Five Things You Are Grateful For.
⊙ Being grateful helps you appreciate what you already have. Here's my list: My health, career, family, my business goals, and my future visions. Create a list now, it really will help you create not only positive vibes, but vision too.

🎯\\Consistency is Key//
Strategize how you can fit your health and fitness goals into your day. It might not be perfect, but make it a priority. Put a your gym time in your calendar. And when the reality of life hits, be flexible. If you don’t have an hour to go to the gym, work with what you’ve got. Can you squeeze in 20 minutes? Run a few laps around the field during your kid’s soccer practice? Anticipate roadblocks and strategize how to maneuver around them. •

💭\\Don’t Fret//
Progress takes time. Be patient with yourself. Don’t let one bad food choice or one missed workout session hound you. Focus on the positive and direct your energy toward your next good decision. •

Think of yourself as someone who wants better health, to have control of their moods, more energy, and better sleep. If your mindset isn’t clear, then your work out means absolutely nothing. You have to set goals & keep track of your success. Surround yourself with positive & encouraging individuals. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. Just because you might be working on the same goals as someone else, doesn’t mean you began at the same starting line. Hire a personal trainer if you need to. All YouTube videos aren’t made for YOU. Working out takes discipline. Sometimes you won’t feel like leaving the bed, but that’s just another excuse because there are plenty of workouts that don’t require you to leave your bed. You have to trick your mind sometimes. Put on your work out clothes & shoes even on days you don’t plan to go to the gym. Only wash your hair on workout days. Do what you have to do. Create routines and never forget why you started. There is nothing selfish about taking care of yourself. I almost want to change my username “missionfitchick” as it turns out, my mission has been focused on my inner self, my chronic illness, my life transformation of who I am, what brings me joy and becoming my most authentic, higher self and EMBRACING it (read 3 posts back about my recent life transformations).

...including embracing my “Goddess body”. A dear soul sister, whom I recently met, said I have a Goddess body. And I LOVED that. If you look at most paintings and sculptures of goddesses from the past, they are thicker. Thick thighs, curvy booty, soft arms... I don’t mean that fit and thin is not a goddess body (we all have beautiful goddess bodies in fact!). I’m just sharing a new perspective that made me appreciate my body just the way it is because it’s human, it’s real, it’s life, its a gift, yes it’s thick and it’s ME!

Of course I still want to lose weight for health reasons and to just feel purely good about myself being at a healthy weight but for now, this is me today. It doesn’t mean I’m not trying. It doesn’t mean I don’t care about my health. It doesn’t mean I’m lazy. It doesn’t mean that I’m a failure. It doesn’t mean that I quit.

The transformations I’ve been busy making are not physical. You cannot see them (except for the glow in my smile😁✨). But they’re big, positive shifts in my life! I’m being honest and patient with myself. And accepting myself for who I am today. For me personally, I need to have a strong foundation before I can truly focus on my outer self because this is for life, not a quick fix, not temporary. It’s my journey. It’s a damn long process. But I appreciate the things I’ve learned and how far I’ve come. Goddesses and allies, THIS is my testimony of self love and kindness!

2. Always give yourself the option to walk away from circumstances will prevent you from growing and achieving your goals in life. Oftentimes, we hold onto things and people who minimize our vision. Unload them. You don’t need detrimental burdens in your life. The people or circumstances that put a smile on your face are the ones worth fighting for. Your next chapter is full of positive and encouraging people. Turn the page today.

3. Be wise than smart. Smart people learn from their mistakes while wise people learn from someone else’s mistake. You have to learn from people who have the results you are looking for. If you are an aspiring writer, don’t just read and be inspired by your favorite writer’s book, explore the path and situations he went through before he became successful. Learn the valuable lessons from each adversity and it will guide you better in your journey.

4. Never let someone fix you while you are still healing. You should never change who you are just to make someone accept you and love you. Paint your life with the colors you wanted to see before letting people to share theirs.

5. Your mental health will always be more important than your deadlines. Always look after your own health and well being. There’s no high paying job that can replace your life. If you feel you are extremely tired and overwhelmed, have a mental rest. Give your brain a downtime away from everything.

6. Never be ashamed of who you are, what you have, where you are from, or what you believe in. Every single person has a unique gift that they can offer to the world. You can become a light and rainbow to people, let them embrace you for who you truly are.

7. Stop asking, start communicating. Most of the time, we just turn to God to ask for something in life. We pray to request for provision, promotion or blessing in a repetitive manner on a daily basis.

It would be easy to say screw it and not workout because I never have a large block of time. But either I get up and do a movement flow or I squeeze in a 30 minute ... Last couple months I've had to be pretty strategic with my time! It would be easy to say screw it and not workout because I never have a large block of time. But either I get up and do a movement flow or I squeeze in a 30 minute circuit.

If you can't get in a 1 1/2 hour workout every day because life is busy, it's ok!! You will survive!! Lol but don't not do it!! Move every day in some way for 30 mins. Keep that habit and consistency.

There are 4 things that will stop you from reaching a health goal:
1. Thinking it is an all or nothing adventure with a strict timeline.
2. Not changing as you change. Psst I have a secret for you.... As you age your body isn't the same! So don't treat it like you are 25 if you are 45. Go with the flow and adjust your goals and your how you approach your health.
3. LACK OF PATIENCE. if your goal is all around how you look and that is your focus, you never see all the great things that do change. More energy, better relationship with food and happiness. If you need to see dramatic change in a month, you need to evaluate why? Putting how you look a main goal is why you never see change. Change your habits to more positive ones, this includes attitude, better sleep, reducing stress, finding a way of eating that suits you best, working out smart and enjoying it, and most of all getting out of your own way!!
4. Stop comparing yourself to others!! Especially if you are totally different body types with totally different lifestyles. You aren't them and they aren't you. Be Inspired by their devotion to being healthy but don't ever ask why you don't look like them. That answer is so obvious. Because you aren't them!!! _______________________________
Let's face it, we are our own worse enemy, aren't we?
Less stress + right plan + positive attitude + patience MEANS SUCCESS!! ______________________________
Your HEALTH should be your big picture. Then under that create action steps to create good health. Guess what?? By doing the action steps you lose fat, Gain energy and create HAPPINESS!

When I was first accepted into the @1stphorm family as an athlete 7 years ago, we had all of maybe 4 products out. It was a very small team, of some of the most incredibly hard working group of guys I had ever met, all of them with a burning desire to help others and change the world. To be a part of all this, and watch my @1stphorm #phamily go from a small team, to an army of people all driven by the same mission;
everyone filled with passion and purpose for a good cause, all willing to sacrifice and put in the work to see it through and help it grow, has been one of the most incredible and rewarding things I have ever been a part of. And I am so very humbled, blessed and thankful to watch this unfold and see the world change before my very eyes. .

A lot of you this weekend asked me what my favorite part about being a @1stphorm athlete is... I have many favorites. .

1. Their loyalty to their mission. Never unwavering, always committed.
2. Their passion and commitment to excellence in all things.
3. The love, positive energy, inspiration, and compassion they have for others and wanting to truly help others.
4. That they believed in me, my dreams and goals, even during the times I didn’t believe in myself.
5. That it has given me an opportunity to help others through health and fitness, the same way it personally helped me turn my life around, and give me purpose and meaning. .
