🍓half a lemon

🍓2 tablespoons coconut or cane sugar
🍓3 drops of orange essential oil
🍓3 drops of lemon essential oil

We separate the mint from the twigs and add them to the bottom of your container.
Lemon, orange, strawberries cut slices and put them in a jar.
On sugar, we drip all the essential oils and pour it into a container of fruit, pour water. We insist a night or 6-8 hours 😜

🍓 половина лимона 🍓половина апельсина
🍓200гр клубники 🍓5-6 веточек мяты 🍓2 ст.л. кокосового или тростникового сахара
🍓3 капли апельсинового эфирного масла
🍓3 капли лимонного эфирного масла

Мяту отделяем от веточек и складываем на дно вашей емкости.
Лимон, апельсин, клубнику режем дольками и выкладываем слоями в банку.
На сахар капаем все эфирные масла и насыпаем его в емкость с фруктами, заливаем водой. Настаиваем ночь или 6-8 часов 😜

Наслаждайся! 😍

Here’s what I put in this one:
1 bottle chilled sauvignon blanc
1/2 cup vodka
2 tbsp organic sugar
Handful of strawberries
1 mango diced
1 nectarine sliced
Cut up the fruit and put it in a bowl, sprinkle with sugar and top with vodka, refrigerate for at least a half hour, preferably longer. When ready add mixture to a pitcher and top with wine, add ice and stir to combine. If you happen to have some orange juice, add a splash. I added 2 drops of Doterra’s grapefruit essential oil to each glass and that made up for the missing juice. I’ve been putting grapefruit oil in so many drinks lately and it’s delicious! Plus, like other citrus oils it helps your body detoxify by helping your liver produce more glutathione, a powerful antioxidant! 🙌🏼✨ #salvageliferecipes #salvagelifedrinks

Coba lihat perbandingan dari data USDA ini, dimana jus buah mayoritas memiliki nilai kalori dan kandungan gula yg bahkan lebih tinggi daripada minuman ringan!

Perhatikan bahwa sample jus buah ini adalah jus buah asli tanpa tambahan pemanis/gula apapun, dan bukan tipe concentrate maupun kemasan. Jus buah didapatkan dengan menggunakan juice extractor yg menghasilkan ampas yg minim namun sari cairan yg tinggi.

Mayoritas semua jenis buah ini tinggi fruktosanya dan dalam sehari manusia normal hanya mampu memetabolisme sekitar 25 gr fruktosa dari berbagai sumber karbohidrat. Sisanya akan dikonversi menjadi cadangan lemak yg dapat memicu obesitas dan diabetes. Adapun kandungan fruktosa dari beberapa jenis jus buah tsb adalah:

Jus anggur 81 gr fruktosa per liter;

Jus nenas 26 gr fruktosa per liter;

Jus cranberries 45 gr fruktosa per liter;

Jus apel 25 gr fruktosa per liter;

Jus orange 23 gr fruktosa per liter;

Jus grapefruit 24 gr fruktosa per liter.

Sedangkan untuk minuman ringan maupun minuman berenergi, umumnya mengandung 60-65% fruktosa. Fruktosa pada jus buah lebih cepat terserap akibat minimnya serat yg banyak terbuang dari proses juicing / pelumatan ampas buah. Ini mengakibatkan tubuh akan mengalami fluktuasi gula darah yg signifikan yg memicu hentinya pembakaran lemak dan mulainya penumpukan lemak. Sekalipun jus buah segar mengandung antioksidan, kandungan gula yg tinggi membuat manfaatnya menjadi tidak seimbang dengan resikonya. Tetap buah lebih baik dimakan bersama kulit dan ampasnya (kecuali buah berkulit keras) karena serat dapat memperlambat proses pencernaan gula dan dapat mencegah mengkonsumsinya terlalu banyak.

So, EAT your fruit, not DRINK your fruit!

“Trying to get a brewery open on time is almost impossible, trying to get one open early... what the hell were we thinking? With a nightmarish rush to get beers in tanks and a year removed from the last professional batch we accidentally found our brewing voice. Batch 1, our first brew, a Double IPA with Mosaic, Galaxy, and Citra hops didn't finish out completely and stalled fairly high. Then we didn't log the dry hop and ended up dry hopping it twice. The result was a beer that almost made us cry with frustration, but our friends, customers, and peers seemed to really like. Fast-forward three and a half years and we're going to try and see if we can replicate the screw ups of Batch 1 without screwing up. If we've learned anything in those three and a half years, this beer should come out with a huge body, low bitterness, a big tropical aroma, and a poorly fined haziness. 8.8% ABV”

About the beer ⬇️
Drift the Bay DDH Hazy IPA, 6.5% ABV — this one is fun for sure — we wanted to mimic the gritty nature of a derby race (see art collab deets below), so this is kinda a blend of the best of a gritty West Coast IPA with the texture and fruit-forward hop flavor and drinkability of a East Coast hazy. Brewed with Simpsons Best Pale and Golden Naked Oats, and hopped with a heavy hand of Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe. We fermented with a house blend of yeast strains that we’re really digging these days on our hazies. The moment this one is poured, you get bangin’ skunky, dank grass and diesel on the nose, pineapple and orange on the palate with a solid dry finish. If you like Simcoe, Citra and

Brazilians aren’t scared of carbs. If you zoom into that picture or swipe left, you’ll see rice, beans, stir fried spaghetti, squash + okra, meat and sausage as well as pequi (the yellow looking fruit, which is very seasonal to where we are from).

This is a typical lunch or dinner made by my 83 year old grandma. She’s still got it, and I’ll eat anything that woman makes. We also eat lots of fruit and drink freshly squeezed fruit juices. They tend to want to add sugar to natural juices such as orange and lemon juice, but we’ve educated them enough on not doing that. There is nothing like tasting the fruit in the juice! Not sure why they think it needs to be sweeter!

Spiked Tutti Fruitti Lemonade
1 (12 oz) can frozen pineapple juice concentrate, thawed
1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade, thawed
1 bottle or can Henry’s Hard Soda, Orange or Grape flavoured
1 litre club soda, chilled
Ice cubes
Assorted fresh fruit and berries such as pineapple chunks, orange slices, lime slices, raspberries, strawberries, sliced kiwifruit, and mint sprigs
In a large pitcher combine pineapple juice concentrate, Henry’s Hard Soda,  and club soda. Chill for at least 30 minutes. To serve, transfer fruit juice mixture to pitchers; add club soda, ice cubes, and fresh fruit.

Sugar: 45g of sugar derived from fresh fruit or fruit juice is literally the same as 45g of sugar derived from any source, by any means. At the end of the day that 45g of sugar will wind up the same way if you drank it from fruit juice or a fizzy drink. But the small amount of fibre in fruit juice may satiate you for longer, meaning you may be less likely to over consume liquid calories. -

My advice? If you are trying to lose fat, hydrate from water (0 calories regardless of quantity), and eat whole fruit with fibre in abundance. This way you’ll consume fewer calories, more fibre, less sugar and you get to eat 🤓😎.

When it comes to fruit, eating fruit is a much better low calorie and high fiber option. While you could easily drink 11.5 oz of orange juice, you most likely would not eat 3.5 oranges in one sitting (the equivalent in calorie amount).

Ik krijg vaak te horen hoe ik 50+kg ben afgevallen. Het antwoord is simpel; deels door mijn "slechte gezondheid" en deels doordat ik RAW-VEGAN ben geworden. Dit houd in dat ik alleen, voor zover mogelijk, alleen rauw groente en fruit eet. Let op RAW-VEGAN is geen vorm van dieet maar een leefstijl vorm.

Now there is a difference between freshly squeezed vs store bought pasteurized one. The store bought ones is jam packed with sugar: about 34g per 12 fluid oz glass. (Don't be fooled by the drawing of the many 🍊🍊🍊 on the bottle!) but the freshly squeeze juice at home has its benefits. Also, it is easy to consume more calories when drinking orange juice than when eating an orange. When you start gulping downs cups of OJ, sugar can absolutely get out of control. It's much easier to drink 2 cups of juice than to eat the 6 oranges it took to get the juice!

Ultimately, the fruit will be the better bet since of all the fiber and the absorption of nutrients in oranges that is lost during pasteurization. If you look at the amount of fiber in juice compared to 1 cup of orange juice, it's 4.3g vs 0.6g. That's a big difference. As mentioned above, many orange juice beverages contain added sugar and not much REAL juice. This is why it's important to always read the labels to ensure your juice is made from..well..100% juice! 😳

🔺About 1/2 cup of 100% juice can be counted toward your daily recommended amount of fruit. So, if you like a cup of OJ in the morning, that should be your daily max. A quick Google search later and I learned it’s a sour orange. Seeing a recipe for a Bergamot Sour in @punch_drink was serendipitous. I bought ... Tonight’s Libation: Bergamot Sour. It wasn’t that long ago that I thought bergamot was a kind of tea. That is until I saw my local market was selling them. A quick Google search later and I learned it’s a sour orange. Seeing a recipe for a Bergamot Sour in @punch_drink was serendipitous. I bought six. Second thing I learned. It called for bergamot cordial in the cocktail. What the heck is that? I presumed I’d make a simple out of the peels and use the juice for the liquid. Seems a cordial is sugar infused 24 hours with the peels and then the fruit juice is added to the sugar instead of water. Perfect! It’s a concentrated syrup with no added water. After the 2-3 days of preparation, the cordial, and I were ready to finally make the cocktail.
BERGAMOT SOUR
2 oz London style dry gin (the botanist for me)
1/2 oz ginger syrup
3/4 oz bergamot cordial
1 oz lime juice
It didn’t call for it but I added a drop of grapefruit bitters too. Shake and pour over a rock.
It’s floral and bitter and spicy all at the same time. Garnish with grapefruit peel or Bergamot if you still have some! Note the cordial is 1/2 cup sugar. 6 Bergamot fruit peeled no pith and mixed with the sugar in a sealed container. (Mason jar) Juice the six fruits, add to the sugar, and let sit a few more days. I can’t wait to make lemon and lime cordial now too!

And though we love juice in moderation, eating fruit is a much better option when considering calories and fiber. While you could easily drink 11.5 oz of orange juice, you most likely would not eat 3.5 oranges in one sitting (the equivalent in calorie amount)!
