What my life was like before getting into the fitness industry. (Photo on the left 2012, 17years old.) I’m actually so embarrassed by the photo on the left but it’s been a while since I’ve posted a transformation photo of how different life used to be for me mentally and physically and that’s why I am the way I am now.

At the age of 16 was the first time I had touched drugs at a rave, drinking every weekend, not hanging around positive environments, getting into physical fights, didn't really know what I wanted except just living for the weekend, week in and week out. School and education was hardly a priority.. which ultimately led to this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀In 2012 I had been hit by a glass bottle over the head in a drunken fight at a party which resulted in a depressed skull fracture which I still have and get headaches from to this day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Two friends drove me to the hospital with a bleeding head and seeing friends, family, police and the nurses standing there by the hospital bed, feeling helpless not knowing what was going to happen after that was basically one of the lowest points I’ve ever been in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
From then on I got even worse feeling sorry for myself still doing the same things with the same people, I tried going to the gym when I was at school with mates but didn’t take it seriously at all until when I finally got my license and was able to drive, I crashed my friends car drink driving on my 18th birthday when police found us at 3am stuck into a concrete wall.

With only having my license for 2 weeks, I then got suspended from driving for 12 months.. After that was when I knew shit had to change and that’s when I found the gym and took it seriously in 2013.
I got passionate with learning about weight training and loved how it made me feel, I turned it into a career, got into self and personal development, followed role models and people who I wanted to be like and the rest is history.. I now use social media and bodybuilding as a positive tool to help get my message across 6 years later.

Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, an encouraging word, an honest compliment or small act of kindness. But these are the very things that can change lives and deeply affect individuals and society as a whole.
We don’t heal in isolation, but in community.
Thank you for being all of this to me and more! I’ve so appreciated every prayer, every kind word and all the support you’ve given me over the past three years and most recently with my additional knee surgery yesterday. It’s been comforting having so many people rooting for me. Thank you!!!!!
Here’s an update:
Surgery went great. I walked out of the surgery center, but was cautioned to not overdo it with a false sense of healing since I was loaded up with anesthesia and pain killers. So I pretty much laid on the couch all day with ice on my elevated knee. I stayed on top of my pain meds, but the only draw back is they cause insomnia for me, just the opposite I would imagine they should cause. But I did sleep off and on, rising to use the restroom MULTIPLE times (with ease) from all the IV liquids during surgery.
The doctor said my ACL is very strong and secure. The micro fracture repair I had done in the damaged cartilage has filled in nicely with fresh cartilage fibers. He found debris that he shaved off, which he said could’ve been the source of limitation. He also manipulated my knee to hyperextension and full flexion which I’m hoping, once the bandages come off, I’ll be able to recreate now that the channel has been forged. Overall, I’m extremely optimistic. I haven’t had a pain killer since last night at 10:00pm and seem to be feeling fine!
I also had a PRP (plasma rich protein) injection in my elbow to help with chronic tendinitis. The PRP will help stimulate new cell growth which promotes healing to the tendons in that area. I won’t know the full effects of that procedure for another few weeks though.
Thanks again for being my cheerleaders. It’s so nice having such amazing people in my corner!!

BEFORE YOU SAY WHO?
PLEASE READ BELOW .
.
Kelso Cochrane was an iconic figure in British race relations. OVER FIFTY YEARS AGO the young Antiguan was killed by a gang of white youths in Notting Hill, west London. England
No-one was ever convicted. He was the Stephen Lawrence of his day; a symbol of RACIAL INJUSTICE.... To understand the background to the murder of Kelso Cochrane, it is important to appreciate the WHITE RACIST VIOLENCE which was raging at the time. The area comprising Notting Hill UK, Ladbroke Grove and North Paddington in West London were the heartbeat of the West Indian community. In consequence there was an upsurge of white racism in the area. Many were organised in groups like Oswald’s Mosley’s British Union Movement and the White Defence League. Their slogan was “KEEP BRITAIN WHITE ” and they would roam the streets harassing Black people and Black homeowners.
.
.
In August 1958 nearly 400 white youths went on the rampage in Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove and North Paddington area. After the first night FIVE BLACK MEN LAY UNCONSCIOUS. The violence did not peter out until September. He was on his way home from Paddington General Hospital, having been treated for the fracture, when a group of white youths attacked him. One of the youths stabbed him in the heart with a stiletto knife and Cochrane died. Because of the atmosphere of racist violence, Cochrane’s DEATH ELECTRIFIED THE WEST INDIAN COMMUNITY.
.
.
There were protest marches down Whitehall, WESTMINSTER Over a thousand people attended Cochrane’s funeral. Patrick Digby, a 20-year-old catering boy in the Merchant Navy, is the man accused of stabbing 32-year-old Mr Cochrane in the heart with a stiletto knife. Digby was one of two men arrested at the time, but NEITHER HE NOR ANYONE ELSE TO THIS DAY was ever CHARGED BY THE POLICE....
From 1959, activist Claudia Jones organised events to celebrate CARIBBEAN CULTURE "in the face of the hate from the white racists", which are seen as forerunners of the
FIRST EVER LONDON NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL in 1964 WHICH IS EUROPE'S LARGEST STREET FESTIVAL

How prayers sent up to Heaven, no matter your religion or faith, can be heard and the blessings of comfort and peace rain down upon you. THANK YOU to everyone who has checked in on Lincoln and our family over the past couple of days. Your concern and love has been greatly appreciated! Here’s a little run down of what happened. Lincoln was playing mouse trap on the playground at school on Monday (a game where kids swing the jump rope and you have to try and run through without being trapped). Well, him and a friend were racing through just as the jump rope came back and hit Lincoln on the back of the ankles and took his feet out from under him. He landed on the back of his head on the asphalt. He was diagnosed on Monday with a severe concussion which included a little memory loss as to what had happened, blurred vision (like he couldn’t hardly see me), vomiting, and extreme head pain. Yesterday he was doing great and we figured he was on the mend as he scarfed down hamburgers and laughed with his siblings. This morning he woke up with an excruciating headache and started vomiting again. We immediately took him to the ER and they did a CT scan which revealed a large fracture in his skull (next photo). Poor kid!!! No wonder his head hurts so bad! You know he hit pretty darn hard to cause a crack like that! His brain looks good though which is such a blessing. So the next 4 weeks are crucial as we try to keep our overly active, sport loving, athletic boy calm so he doesn’t re-injure his head. Even though things aren’t ideal we are so grateful they aren’t worse. Things can always be worse! Keep those prayers coming and we will do the same for whoever needs it. 🙏🏼❤️

I just went into surgery again on 11/27/18. From x-rays, my vet initially told us it was a tibial crest avulsion/fracture and was going to put another plate in to hold the bone in place; however, after the surgeon went in for this procedure, they saw that everything was still intact. Instead, they found that my bone was highly infected, which couldn't be seen through imaging. They flushed everything out, changed out the hardware, and did antibiotic injections straight into the site.

The two different antibiotics that I was given for my initial TPLO surgery and site infection weren't effective in preventing the bone infection. They're currently sending out the infected material and abscesses to labs to see what the best route of treatment would be.

So I'm on another long journey to recovery. Minimally another 4-6 weeks without any walks. I'm being kept under strict observation and surveillance for a week at the vet's. I'm getting laser therapy and will try hydrotherapy for the first time when I'm released by to my parents.

Anyway, I'm fine. My parents are also fine (just worried about me.) I know I'm built like a tank and I've definitely gotten myself into situations much worse than a silly bone infection 😋 An update post will be coming soon when the true healing process begins at home!
And a special thank you to @airportanimalhosp for being so gracious and supportive throughout this whole process. My family would be lost without your care ❤

Thank you both 🖤

@headway_uk has been a HUGE part of my recovery since suffering from a severe brain trauma and leaving hospital last year. I implore any and everyone of you to listen to this and understand just a tiny little bit about the reality and difficulties that exist for anyone who's been affected by a brain injury - including friends and families!!! Believe me if there's any way to learn who gives a toss and thinks if you look 'normal' that you must be fine and back to normal you now or even doesn't like who you are since an horrific accident, then fall down the stairs and fracture your skull really bad! That's always fun.

I've been a part of @headwayessex (don't give me any TOWIE shit yo 😂 these guys are actually angels) in Colchester and this is the Essex branch of the UK charity which helps build a new future with those who've had all types of brain injury. The brain is such a complicated organ and every incident/accident affects the individual so differently - even if you're a tiny bit curious, this is a fascinating listen! And would mean the world to me if you wanted to know a little bit more 🖤🖤🖤 (Also I popped a cheeky pic of Bert wearing my Speech Development Records sunnies because he's my favourite @speechdevrecs)

HUGE LOVE to @distractionpiecesnetwork @natalieclapshaw and
@scroobiuspipyo for talking openly and truthfully about many parts of a confusing, complicated and for me, lifelong new reality

Seventeen years later and the memory is just as clear: America was attacked on our own soil. The terrorists responsible for these heinous actions intended to fracture our spirits and infringe on Western values such as democracy, trade, freedom of religion, and our right to the pursuit of happiness.

The American people would not be divided.
In New York, thousands of brave police, fire fighters, emergency responders and volunteers ran headlong into danger to rescue their fellow Americans in need.
At the Pentagon, military and first responders secured the area, and unfurled a giant flag which signaled to this country and to the entire world watching: “We may be bruised, but never will we be broken.” And in cities across the country we saw the streets fill with people proudly waving flags. Young men and women attached them to their trucks and cruised up and down the streets to show Old Glory flying proud. Many of those same young people would enlist in the following weeks and months and proudly serve under that very flag as we took the fight back to al-Qaeda.

There’s something so beautiful about the resilient spirit of America. Attempts to break us make us stronger, attempts to divide us bring us closer. We are a nation, united, forever.

We mourn the innocent lives lost. We praise the brave who rescued, recovered, and rebuilt. We celebrate the will of this great country that never ceases, never falters, and never forgets. #WeWillNeverForget #Rememberthefallen #Remember911 #UnitedWeStand #AmericanStrong #WorldTradeCenter #911 #JetSkiDaily

I felt as though it wasn’t worth the time & energy that I’ve invested into this industry for so many years. I’ve had to endure the many negative comments people have said about my self and my style. I thought by withdrawing myself from the fashion industry, I would gain more peace in my life, away from the negativity of this world.
Coincidentally, I fell down the stairs 2 weeks ago which caused a fracture on my toes. With a cast on my foot, I’m forced to stay at home for recovery, reading motivational Christian books, reflecting and praying. I believe everything happens for a reason and through this God wants me to hold back my desire to resign for He told me, “I ask you to create, and focus on your own race.” All the negative voices and things was actually a test of my character in the process of maturity.
In today’s trends, there are many young creative designers who can produce many beautiful gowns at such a low cost. Seems as though they seem to chase quantity over quality and in result prices become a tight competition in the market. Meanwhile, I’m completely satisfied with just producing a few pieces every month.
After the accident, I just realised my destiny and calling in life. He asked me to create as a good artist, just as He designed me to be one of His masterpiece. My true happiness is to create with passion and serving whole heartedly. I want to dedicate all my time and thoughts in creating designs with the utmost finest quality because I want my customers, who have trusted me in designing, to feel appreciated. This is where God gave me life that is meaningful and abundant.
I realized only a handful of people are willing to spend on luxurious cloth because of the stigma that fashion is a lifestyle full of hedonism. Maybe, I am biased in these things, but I personally think that wearing these expensive clothes is like how we price ourselves. Even the bible mentioned that the chosen people will be clothed in the most expensive coat and beautiful jewelry, as God promised He will lavish you with good things to bring Him honor. #focusonmyownrace #staystrong

My client, Jasmine Bradley, was the victim of excessive force. She was filming a LE investigation when a LE officer engaged her. He told her she could continue filming as long as she backed up, which she did. He even gave her the idea to get all of the officer's tag numbers. As she was doing as she was told the officer followed her. He grabbed her left arm (bruises are pictured), then he snacted her phone and stopped her recording. He then twisted her right arm backwards causing it to fracture (arm in the cast). He then slammed her into a cop car (dent photos). Although my client's only crime was following directions, she was ultimately charged with resisting arrest. If you watch the video you will see that there isn't even a prima facie case for the charge.
My client now has to live with the physical and emotional pain of that night, a once perfect record that has now been tarnished with this charge and the everlasting fear of those that are supposed to be there to help. Thank you to First Coast News for covering this story. The link to the story is in my bio. Please share this video & tag a news outlet below to get #JusticeforJasmineBradley! Thank you!

I had to undergo 3 surgeries and 1 more to come as a result of my ankle fracture and kept me out of action for 3 months, which took place 2 weeks right before my Japan trip because of a silly fall from an escooter. But it was a blessing in disguise, as I learnt to appreciate the simple things in life. Learning to walk, change clothes and bathing were routine tasks which I had great difficulty doing during this phase. I've learnt to appreciate having my family and friends over, and especially @liaheartsu for their emotional support. The extra free time also allowed me to pick up new skills, like DIYing cables and finally getting started seriously on trading and investing, something I found great joy doing this year. Not to mention the 200+ hrs I've clocked on FFXV and getting 100% on MSGV hah! There were many important lessons I've learnt in my career too, under the guidance of my bosses on commandship and leadership. I take great pride and passion being in the RSAF and 505 SQN and I hope that this fire will continue to burn for the years to come.

So thank you to 2017 for the life lessons, here's to saying goodbye to you and looking ahead to 2018. #Goodbye2017

This patient has an acute subdural hematoma, which occurs when traumatic shearing forces cause tearing of the bridging veins, leading to slow bleeding into the subdural space.
Patients with cerebral atrophy (eg, elderly, those with alcoholism) are at a higher risk of developing subdural hematoma as the bridging veins must traverse a longer distance, thereby becoming more susceptible to tears.
The use of anticoagulants (like warfarin) can also increase bleeding risk.
Elderly patients gain instability and recent hip fracture should raise suspicion for falls and traumatic head injury leading to an hematoma.
Symptoms usually develop gradually 1-2 days after the initial injury and include impaired consciousness, confusion, or symptoms of increased intracranial hypertension (headache, nausea/vomiting).
Diagnosis is made by a noncontrast head CT scan that shows a crescent-shaped hyperdensity that crosses suture lines (unlike epidural hematoma showing a smoothly margined biconvex density not crossing the suture lines).
Small hematomas are managed conservatively whereas larger ones like the one seen here causing neurologic deficits require urgent neurosurgical evacuation.

Who hates when they’ve finally started to get a little length on their fingernails only to suffer from them snapping off? Sure, accidents happen and we’re bound to break a nail from time to time, but if you suffer from chronically brittle nails, you may want to pay attention. 💅🏼not getting enough iron: Concave or depressed nails (think: the shape inside of a spoon) can be caused by low iron levels or anemia.
💅🏼too much texting: You know that clickety-clack sound your nails make when you’re firing off emails and texts? Well, you’re damaging more than just the patience of the people around you. If your nail is making contact with your keyboard or smartphone screen over and over, it could cause it to split, fracture, or fray at the edges.
💅🏼not enough moisture: Time for a dose of reality—you have to reapply hand lotion every time you wash your hands. Water dried your skin out, and if the skin at and below your cuticles is dry, then the underlying nail matrix is, too. That means the nail it forms will be prone to splitting, breaking, and cracking.
💅🏼too much polish: All nail polishes contain drying ingredients that sap moisture from the nail plate and weaken it, and that drying effect doesn’t stop once the polish has hardened. Even five-free nail polishes—which skip the solvent toluene and the plasticizer dibutyl phthalate, along with other potentially irritating ingredients—can still leave nails high and dry.
💅🏼you cut your cuticles: Back away from the cuticle snippers. These bits of skin at the base of the nail are essentially protective grout between your nail and skin, shielding your nail from water, bacteria, and anything else you touch.
💅🏼lack of B vitamins: You might think beauty supplements are bunk, but there’s evidence behind biotin, a B vitamin that’s widely lauded as a hair-and-nail strengthener. 💅🏼exposure to harsh chemicals: From this point forward, consider nail polish remover the enemy. Polish remover is really a solvent – it’s strong, almost like a paint thinner – and it really dries out the nail.
💅🏼hypo or hyperthyroidism .

So every success story must have a glitch right? Saturday nights event in Mexico City was a great success! However on the way out of my hotel that night, I not so gracefully fell down a flight of stairs and badly injured my right ankle. It made an immensely loud cracking sound which has me worried, so now that I am home in Toronto I’m having my doctor look at it today and order some X-Rays. I still played my gig that night, because as they say “the show must go on.” Post show I took plenty of pain remedies and iced it for several hours. I pray it heals quickly. Today marks my rebirth, my three year anniversary from my double neck fracture in vertebrae removal.
The incident has enriched my being with profound gratitude and has increased my awareness and compassion more than any other life lesson I have experienced thus far. I’m still growing and rebuilding my life from it.
Legally not allowed to speak much about it due to the current litigations which will soon be coming to an end. I look forward to share my story.
I feel like not being able to speak about i my situation publicly as I have wanted has stunted me and someways in healing emotionally and socially;
I’m excited that the end is near with the trials and looking forward to be able to find resolution with this part of my life.
It has been very difficult for me to express , especially the depth of my gratitude to everyone who has supported me through this weather financially, spiritually and emotionally. Every penny from go fund me help me monumentally through my process of recovery and making it possible for me to get to this point. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported me and also has stood by my side as a friend despite how socially distant I have had to be. The love and compassion I have received through this is unlike any other type of love I have yet to experience, teaching me how to see, live, and love with deeper intent. These three years have been the most difficult of my life, filled with tears from all emotions, nonetheless the most humbling three years of my life.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned from this is to listen to the universe when it is giving you signs to slow down and how important it is to be aware of those signs and how the universe communicate with you. The faster the run, the harder the crash when there is no need to rush - we are always on time. 2/2/15❤️

Since a few of you have been asking where all the hiking pics have gone, and some have seen some questionable Snaps...
.
.
As indicated in a few of my last couple posts, Nadia had been suffering from a shoulder injury since around June. What was originally thought to be a sprain, maybe a small fracture, turned out to be MUCH worse. After not getting better even after weeks of rest (and no hikes), she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (an aggressive bone cancer) in her front left shoulder.
.
.
Her leg deteriorated to the point where she could barely use it (note how she's only pivoting off the leg in the video) without serious pain, and limited simple things like jumping on the couch. The difficult decision was then made to amputate what was becoming painful dead weight. Unfortunately even with amputation and chemo, the avg life expectancy is still only 12-14 months, (but that takes into account dogs significantly older than 5 yr old Nadia).
.
.
So now for the Good News: (1) The cancer was confirmed to be isolated to her shoulder and did not spread (which would have been automatic death sentence). (2) After only 10 days she was back on her feet walking faster than me, and jogging on day 16 (shhh don't tell the vet) (3) She's recovering so fast that she can start coming off meds 2 weeks early. And (4) Even though Nadia is the type of dog to raise the average life expectancy (bc she's so young and highly healthy/active) , the decision was made to start training a little Nadia just in case...
.
.
which why I'm now introducing Nadia Jr aka Arya to the Insta. More updates to come 😁🐶

Healthy eating isn't about perfection, but expression of gratitude for plant powered food creations.

Asparagus is high in vitamin K, which many studies found, it could improve our bone health, increase bone density and actually reduce fracture rates.

It also contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which helps to reduce chronic health problems as heart disease and cancer.

In my teens and early twnties, I intentionally wore my watches on the right wrist, but changed it to the left somewhere during my university studies. I guess variation keeps you inspired 😁 Have you ever had to change the wrist on which you wear your precious timepieces?

I have never cooked collard greens before, but lately it looked so fresh and green that I decided to try some.
I just sautéed it with garlic, and it tasted delicious. Last time I cooked it a little longer with turmeric and a little bit of cayenne pepper. It tastes so good.

Collard greens rank in one of the most nutritious foods of the world, much like kale they are also considered a super food packed full of nutrition and multiple health benefits. They are unique because they help and detox the body due to the high amount of sulfur containing compounds in it. Here is why Collard greens should be a part of your diet.
🍃Detox: Collard greens are excellent detoxifiers due to their sulfur-containing compounds glucosinolates; Glucosinolates help regulate and activate detoxifying enzymes in the body and protect DNA from the attack of free radicals and other harmful chemicals.
The vitamin C in collard greens has antioxidant properties that help fight oxidative damage. A cup of collard greens provides up to 35 mg of vitamin C which makes up 58% of the daily recommended value.
🍃Bone Strengthening: Collard greens are so beneficial that it covers up to 100 percent of the daily recommended intake value of vitamin k. Vitamin K has been observed to reduce fracture rates. Regular consumption of collard green can be beneficial in fighting off diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
🍃Digestion help: Collard greens are an excellent source of dietary fiber. Irritable bowel syndrome can be treated by eating collard greens. IBS causes severe symptoms of diarrhea and can be the cause of ulcers. A low fiber diet can be the cause of IBS, and it affects about 20% of Americans. Collard greens can also help prevent leaky gut syndrome and strengthen overall immunity due to its high vitamin C content.
It is rich in glucoraphanin which protects the stomachs lining and prevents bacterial growth. This is essential to protect the body from infections and prevents the walls of the stomach from accumulating bacteria.

This is how exercise for kids affects in a positive way: • It helps to make muscles stronger, which improves co-ordination and balance. A child with good co-ordination and balance is less likely to fall or have fractures. • It helps build bone mass, which makes bones stronger. If a person does fall, their bones are better able to take the impact and less likely to fracture.

On the morning of May 6, 2018, while parked at the side of the road and in the process of putting bikes in the car, Dane Zamudio and Mark Cabe were side swept by a drunk driver. Both of them have sustained several serious injuries such as broken bones that require surgeries, multiple abrasions and lacerations. Dane sustained a broken upper arm, which required a plate to be placed, and several open wounds that needed stitches. We've just discovered that her ACL and PCL are both torn, and would require another surgery. Mark had his left foot and ankle broken. His big toe was an open fracture and they had to put metal in it to get the bone back in place, while his foot and ankle will require another surgery where they will put metal and screws to put them back together. After their surgeries and wounds heal, they will then require physical therapy to get better further.

We are still lucky that both have come out of this accident with their lives (broken bones and multiple wounds aside) and are on their way to recovery, but the medical costs are already staggering which is, unfortunately, beyond our families' capacity. Although we are hoping the drunk driver will be paying for all their medical needs and the repair of our car, we need to attend to their immediate needs first.

That is why we are here to appeal further to the love and support of our friends and family in the most trying time of our lives. This accident has not only affected our families and friends, but also our lives, forever.

Team Trimac, together with our friends from Aboitiz Tri, Fit Ph, RUN365PH, Secondwind Run Club and friends from the running and triathlon communtity have organized a benefit run for Mark and Dane. This event will also serve as our campaign against drunk driving. We hope you can come and support this running event. See you all on May 27!!

About 16 months now since I broke my wrist on the dance floor and got some wicked titanium enhancement. The surgeon deliberately nestled the incision in next to the tendon, so this existing contour will camouflage the faded scar. But the occupational therapist said it would take at least a year before the scar would silver, which sounded like madness to me. How could anything take so long to heal?

Yet here it is, still very pink except for a fade setting in from the bottom. Maybe the silver is really mercury; a barometer.

It’s an obvious metaphor, but I’ll torture it. Look:

Just before the break, the worst thing that’s ever happened to me, happened. I’m still reeling. So perhaps those few centimetres of silver are parallel to the progress of my heart.

When it’s cold, the bone aches around the metal. I can’t help but think that it longs for the shape it used to be, without the screw holes. Because I can’t ever retrieve what was carved out of me.

Some wounds change your contours permanently. I am no longer a person who has never experienced [redacted]. I am no longer a person to whom [redacted] was never said or done.

There’s a titanium plate against my radius now which supposedly makes it sturdier than it was before the fracture. Is this even possible? Can something be stronger at the break? Perhaps so, but the price is flexibility. My wrist won’t ever bend as willingly as it once did.

You already know what I was going to say next.

And together with our Five Dollar Friday community, we have well and truly changed the world for one exceptionally brave and fortunate goat, who we have aptly named Together. Having arrived into our care some months ago after experiencing a horrific dog attack, it has been a long road to recovery for Together. Daily management has seen us able to gradually heal many of Together’s injuries, which included one ear having been completely torn off, another partially removed, a fracture to the delicate bone surrounding her eye and multiple bite wounds, one of which came frighteningly close to claiming her vision. Yet there is one thing veterinary care, wound management and medications cannot treat and that is the healing of Together’s spirit.

However this, we are pleased to say, is also slowly taking a turn for the positive. Whilst she most certainly does not welcome her daily eye baths and ointment application, Together no longer trembles at our touch, nor does she now fight with all of her might to escape us. In fact, a cheeky side has also begun to emerge in this dear girl as she now licks her lips in anticipation of the tasty wheet bix biscuit that is promised after each interaction with her caregivers. With time, love and of course, kindness, we have no doubt that Together will indeed have a life worth living here at Edgar’s Mission.

Once again, we send our unending thanks to the #FiveDollarFriday community who make this arm of our work possible. If you too would like the change the world together, please visit www.fivedollarfriday.com.au

I remember what it was like to be nearly out of hope, the only thing keeping me from death being a few little numbers on a blood test and dad who wouldn't allow me to die. I also remember what Keira looked like when she arrived at the shelter, both eyes shut and swollen, fearing a skull fracture and brain damage. I don't know if Keira ever felt as low as I did but I remember glancing over at her during our ride home and feeing a vibe from which said "please don't hurt me, I promise I am worth it.". I think that's how I have always felt about life: if I can curtail my fear, I can really have an excellent shot at embracing life. Every day is battle with fear, anxiety and doubt. As an individual, I'm not sure I could do it, but I haven't really felt like an individual my entire sobriety, I've felt like a part of something much greater. State regulations ... We're passionate champions of reproductive and maternal health, but right now in America we are experiencing a crisis with our fracture healthcare system which means especially low-income and women of color are less likely to have adequate access to the care they need. State regulations on certain types of reproductive health rights has contributed to healthcare "deserts" especially in rural areas where there aren't enough doctors to fill the everyday needs of people. A new campaign from Nursing America is raising awareness of how Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) are trained to fill the gap in these areas. Nurse Midwives are especially important as statistics worldwide show AJ increase in midwives in the delivery room and during birth can actually reduce the number of maternal mortalities. The US is currently experiencing the highest maternal mortality rates in the world, rates that haven't been this way since the late 1800s. Black women are 3-4 times more likely to be affected by maternal mortality, which means nurse midwives are a vital ingredient in our healthcare system right now. To find out more about this issue, visit our website or click the link in our bio.🤰🏾💉 #nursingamerica #supportaprns #nurse #midwives #blackwomen #healthcare #reproductiverights #maternal #women #womenofcolor #instagood

The funny thing is I just realized today that I have been working towards this new phase of my life for, well, my entire life!

At the age of three I became an athlete in the sport of Gymnastics. I competed in this sport until I was 16. I only stopped because my very caring coach (who at the time I thought was the meanest person in the world!) did not let me continue due to a stress fracture in my L4 vertebrae. He said something along the lines of, “When you are older you are going to want to be able to move and play with your family...” blah blah blah.

Fast forward 16 more years of fitness with a degree in Health and Physical Education plus competing in collegiate Track, Figure and CrossFit at the top level, and here I am... back to my first love: Gymnastics.
Only now, I get to use all 29 years of my experience, knowledge and passion to help others. Through our Gymnastics program at Invictus Boston (@invictusboston) I am able to help our members build core, stability and upper body strength as well as gain critical body awareness in all movement. Which in turn leads to longevity and quality of life! Something I now prioritize over everything else and what I think my gymnastics coach was trying to tell me all those years ago!

This experience has also lead me to program for and help Regional and Games level CrossFit athletes with their gymnastics. Which I love because it keeps me in the competitive sport, and working with athletes is always fun!

So, although I can’t exactly say I planned everything perfectly to end up where I am, I can say that as long as you stay true to your passions you WILL find yourself loving the life you live!

A woman who was pulled into crocodile-infested waters in northwestern Australia when a shark bit her finger as she attempted to feed it, has described the terrifying moment which nearly cost her a digit.

Melissa Brunning said she was on a yacht in the remote Kimberley region, when she tried to hand-feed up to four Tawny nurse sharks hanging around the back of the boat.

The two-metre creature - which has strong jaws and rows of sharp teeth - sucked at her right index finger "like a Hoover (vacuum cleaner)", she told The West Australian late Saturday.

According to reports, a paddleboarder broke a man’s skull at San Diego’s Sunset Cliffs on June 26th. Kevin Eslinger, an accomplished paddleboarder himself, got in an argument with another man who “cracked the paddle over Eslinger’s head.” The blow was hard enough to fracture his skull.
Elsinger is well-liked in the community. He lives an interesting live that revolves around water. Working as a swim coach, Elsinger has a degree in philosophy spent years living on a sailboat. Although he generally rides his bike, he also drives an old Volkswagen van. He holds the world record for the longest continuous prone paddle, which was 120 miles from Santa Barbara Island to Ocean Beach in San Diego.
After the attack, Eslinger swam back to shore under his own power while the attacker swam away. “He got himself out of the water,” said Pat Tope, one of Eslinger’s fellow swim coaches, to @abc10news, “which is pretty remarkable. Now, Eslinger is recovering in the hospital. “He was having difficulty with his speech, but since then his speech is slowly starting to return,” Tope continued. “So it’s going to take some time for it to get back to normal.” Full article on theinertia.com

I use this mask with apple cider vinegar twice week, and have been for about 2 years. Alitura was the gateway product into regular masking/facials for me, and I even travel with it now to keep my skin popping after long flights and longer appearance days. 💁🏽‍♀️

More to come in a future post about my full skin experience. I used to have regular cystic acne, uneven skin, hyperpigmentation, and had to SHAVE MY FACE like a boy. It took years to get to where I am now through diet changes (which results in hormone changes), swapping skincare products, laser hair removal, PRP, and more. Certainly never taking my current skin for granted! #eatplaycrush

today on one of my most broken pieces i brushed on gold. this image was taken just after its second dusting... it is so marked with my finger prints and remnants of the gold dust, all of which i kind of like, another memory in the life of the piece. it will, after a few days drying be cleaned and posted back home to me across the seas . in the meantime i am a little overwhelmed that i actually got through all the stages (retained some of what i’ve learnt, i hope) and have embraced this new, profound art form (of which i will no doubt continue to learn more and more about as the years pass, as you do with all craft practice) ... but in the mean time, these gold filled fracture lines took my breath away this afternoon . #churchillfellowship #kintsugi #kjoschurchillfellowship

Team Trimac, together with our friends from Aboitiz Tri, Fit Ph, Run365Ph, Secondwind Running Club and friends from the running and triathlon communtity have organized a benefit run for Mark and Dane. This event will also serve as our campaign against drunk driving. We hope you can come and support this running event.

They pinioned his wings, which means removing the joint that is the farthest from the body to prevent flight. I am not against clipping wings but this is a horrible thing which is forbidden by law for over 15 years. Because of this he is not able to even gilde a bit when he loses his balance.

We went to our avian vet right away on friday and after taking x-Rays (check out my previous post) he told us it was a bad injury, broken on a difficult area and he needed surgery. It was located right nect to his hip joint. We had to leave Chico there, he gave him pain medication and would do surgery right away. Chico his age is unknown and he was not in the best condition when we got him. Our avian vet was really worried about anesthesia and did everything to make it as safe as possible. Luckily he made it through.... Chico now has a metal rod in his bone, to keep it in place so there will be new bone tissue growing. He has a huge scar on his thigh from surgery and is black and blue. The avian vet was planning on adding an external fixation as well, but because of the location of the fracture this was not possible. We are not out of the woods yet, Chico needs to rest a lot, to avoid to much movement in his leg. We were told that he is lucky to have super strong leg muscles to help keep everything in place😌 This wil be his home for the next 3 weeks, he needs antibiotics and pain medication twice a day for the next 5 days as well.

Let chat about my foot. 📍HOW did it happen? -I stepped on a mat that usually has another mat underneath it, but for some reason the top mat was pulled over further than normal and was overhanging the mat underneath it. So when I put my foot down there was nothing underneath to take my weight, so my ankle rolled, I heard a snap and fell. 📍WHAT is the injury? -I broke my heel bone in two places (see photo 2) it’s chipped up the top of the bone and fracture down the side, which is hard to see, sorry. And sprained the outside of my ankle.
The first week I was in a moon boot as they only saw the splinter in the top of my heel bone and made an appointment for me to see the specialist. When he had a look at the scans and felt around my ankle he said there were two breaks and that the second one was more severe and that I would need a cast for 5 weeks.
The Thursday just gone we took the cast off and got new x-rays and both of the breaks are almost completely healed and so now I’m in the moonboot during the day and a brace at night.
The third photo is my point and inward rotation compared to the left foot. (although I accidentally flipped the photo so looks like my left foot). And the fourth photo is my point from this afternoon which is already a lot better.
I’m doing my own rehab until I can get an appointment with a physio I trust to get a rehab plan.
If you made it this far, thank you for caring. Also, how beautiful are autumn leaves. -

This year we have saved at least £600 on formula, not to mention the sterilizing equipment, prep machines and bottles we would have potentially brought.

I have provided teddy with extra protection from infection, a reduced risk of developing allergies, asthma and type 2 diabetes.
We have also reduced the risk of infant mortality, obesity, heart disease, childhood leukaemia, autoimmune problems, coelic disease and eczema.
And lowered his risk of ear & chest infections 🎉

Breastfeeding has allowed me to safely bed share which has allowed me to get more quality sleep 💤 giving me better energy levels and reducing my risk of post natal depression 🌞 it has also lowered my risk of ovarian cancer, breast cancer, hip fracture, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis 👵🏼 We have benefited the environment as breastmilk is as locally sourced as you can get, there is no packaging, water or wastage involved either 🙌🏼
No energy or water is used to wash sterilize bottles, or heat milk to the right temperature.
And no cows have been used 🐄 which contribute to the annual global methane emissions.
Most importantly Breastfeeding for me has given me the foundations to parent in a responsive and respectful way 💖

Teddy has been vegan and palm oil free for the 2nd 6 months of his life.. Based on the consumption of 400 calories of solids on average, and 24 oz of breastmilk on average with an average calorie content of 22kcal per oz
So far Teddy has saved.. 49,500 gallons of water
1,800lbs of grain
1350sqft. of forest
900lbs of c02
45 animals lives 🌎❤🐄🐖🦆❤🌍 Breastfeeding for me hasnt always been easy, I struggled alot for the first 3/4 months and it has taken a lot if commitment, I will be forever grateful to the amazing volunteers cradles breastfeeding group who gave me endless support and still do, and i am proud to be a part of their team myself now ( . )( . )
Here's to at least 1 more year of breastfeeding, and hopefully more... 🥂

✔️My favorite colors are navy blue and green. 💙 💚
✔️When I first began my medical study I actually started in E.N.T (ears, nose, and throat) which is actually how my interest in #nosesurgery first sparked. 👃
✔️Singing is one of my unique talents! I'm pretty good at karaoke as long as I'm under 2 beers... 🍻
✔️I was a big nerd in high school 🤓. I was very studious, and had a bit of a strict upbringing meaning early curfews (all of which I'm thankful for now).
✔️If I could be any animal I'd want to be a tiger because they're both strong and beautiful! 🐯
✔️One of my favorite sport activities is cycling! 🚵‍♀️ Although I had to take a break after a rainy day accident at Mount Baldy in 2017 that left me with a scar and cheek fracture.🚫

Iike a child’s laughter... #catsofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #Repost @annunakihistory with @repostsaveapp · · · Felines - the Cats Healing powers
In Ancient Egypt, Cats have played an important role in shaping their history as we know it, also evident in the depiction of their gods and goddesses in the half human and half feline form. Some of the Egyptian gods also have the Canine form, such as Anubis.
It is no coincidence that the Sphinx faces the star Sirius, also known as the "Dog Star". Sirius is in the constellation 'Canis Major' or the 'Big Dog', hence the word 'Canine

The Canines and Felines (Felidae and the Canidae) as we know them are both from Sirius A and exist as fully evolved, crystalline light beings, non physical from our perspective. The household versions of these beings we see on Earth are in fact physical formats, genetically engineered by the Sirians to assist humanity in ways we are just beginning to understand as a species.

The Cat's purr falls well within the 20-50 hertz anabolic range, and extends up to 140 hertz and is known to assist in bone growth/fracture healing, muscle and tendon repair, pain relief, swelling reduction, dyspnoea (shortness of breath) and to improve mobility of joints.

Being around a cat when one is not feeling too well definitely helps as it hastens the healing process. Lying down next to a purring cat when one has a migraine helps one feel better as the healing frequencies alleviate the symptoms and this has been noted in many families which keep cats as pets.
If only we had the sensitivity to understand animals and other lifeforms around us, perhaps we would have been a less aggressive species, more in tune with the natural way of life, living in harmony with other members of the Earth Tribe.

The recent eruption at Kilauea volcano on the Big Island, Hawaii, is a new offshoot from the same magma plumbing system that has been feeding the eruption that has been ongoing since the 1980s. The summit crater of Kilauea is right above a vertical pathway of magma that goes down all the way to the Earth’s mantle, >100 km down, where the magma is generated. The magma pools in a magma chamber about 5 km deep. Some magma continues up into the main crater at the summit, while the rest moves east through a fracture. Since the 1980s, magma has erupted from Pu’u Oo crater and flowed to the sea (not shown in cartoon). In the past few days, the magma has continued eastward and erupted to the surface again. The earthquakes occurred along a gently sloping fault that accommodates the seaward motion of a large chunk of the volcano. The volcano is collapsing under its own weight. The resulting movement of this chunk of crust is opening up the fracture which the magma is utilizing. (Magma pressure may be helping the fracture open, but the main stress field, I think, is generated by the volcano’s obesity, lol.) (Photo from @usgs; cartoons mine, based on @usgs reports/data) EDIT—Cool fact: Based on sophisticated geochemical techniques (U-series disequilibria for you nerds), it takes about 8 years for the magma to rise from 30 km depths to eruption.

They did an xray in the nursery right after he was born and came back with nothing is wrong. After persistence, baby Anthony and my cousin were released with a referral to a neurologist which he went to yesterday. The neurologist sent him to do an xray and it showed a fracture. After trying to fix the fracture with a splint, baby Anthony had an MRI done and is going into surgery in about ten minutes. Nivens is our 3rd MAJOR medical bunny in a month and our funds are gone. This sweet boy was hopping off a box just a foot off the floor when he suffered an injury. At first it was thought to be soft tissue but instead of healing it turned worse and he started dragging his foot underneath him when he does move. A second round of x-rays taken of the entire leg shows a fracture near his shoulder. However something more serious appears to be going on with the long bone in his front arm. It is this compromise of the bone that resulted in the fracture.
This week he needs to go under sedation to have a needle aspiration of his bone taken. If that is not successful in getting an adequate sample he would need to have a bone biopsy performed. The biopsy could result in another fracture of the compromised bone. Yet a sample is needed so we can determine his course of treatment, which may result in an amputation of his leg. It's that severe of a case!

We don't have much time to raise the $1500 funds to cover just the testing and x-rays that have already been done. Time is urgent to get him care and determine why his leg bone is deteriorating when he's just 7 months old. Additional funding will also be needed once we know what treatment plan is recommended. We are fighting the calendar on this one.
Please consider a tax deductible contribution towards his care at PayPal.me/fureverhomerescue and put NIVENS in the notes so that it can be applied to his bill. Or call VCA Bloomington Animal Hospital at 952-884-3228 and make a donation directly to our account for Nivens.

Exactly one week ago today, I suffered a burst fracture to my C5 vertebrae. I'm so lucky to be feeling and moving, let alone breathing and living. Thankfully, I am able to walk out (literally) of this accident with only a neck brace and rehab.
Statistically, 80-90% of patients with this type of spinal injury become paralyzed, quadriplegic, or even die. Every nurse, doctor, and surgeon I've met during my stay have all said the same thing "You're so lucky". It never sunk in until I finally saw my MRI and x-rays showing how close I came to death and how close I was to changing my life forever.
Upper Left: MRI of my broken neck
Upper Right: Night of the accident
Bottom Right: Titanium plate and 4 screws
Bottoms Left: Today
I dove into the shallow end of the pool, and I hit my head at the bottom. I remained conscious during my entire experience but was paralyzed for only a few minutes. I was pulled out and saved by my four cousins. About ten minutes later, I started to gain the sensations back again in my four extremities. Soon I was able to stand up and walk (which I shouldn't have done because I could've caused some serious damage to my spinal chord). I was taken to the Memorial Hospital West and then rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital as a trauma alert after a CT scan of my neck was taken.
5 days post-op, I'm able to stand and walk on my own, eat and swallow correctly, and in rehab for 5 hours each day. I now have a 2 inch titanium plate from my C4 to my C6 vertebrae, which is held together by 4 screws. I have to wear my neck brace for at least 4 months and have to continue my rehab and healing for about a year.
I need to say a big thank you to the four cousins who saved my life, provided the immediate treatment, and brought me to the hospital (@kimmiebrandon @andrewbbrandon @shanavkhan @abaswilderness). In addition, I have to say another thank you to my second mom @helenmejia who kept my mom calm and collected during this hellish week. Last but not least, thank you to my family, friends, and everyone for their love and support during this scary experience. #luckytobealive #brokenneck #c5fracture

First, we were told that the water damage in our bedroom had a significant amount of black mold and that we would need to move everything out of our bedroom so that a specialist could set up a containment wall to deal with it properly. So, to keep Coen out of that room while we moved everything out, my dad took him to Costco with him to help keep him occupied. Coen was so happy and excited to go with him.
Not too long after they were gone, a horrible call came from my dad that Coen had fallen out of the cart straight onto his head. He heard a sickening crack as Coen's head hit the cement. We rushed to meet them at the ER to find Coen still crying on my dad's lap. It took a lot in me to keep it together so that I wouldn't cry and upset Coen anymore than he was. He's such a tender soul that he usually gets emotional when he sees me emotional. You could tell he was scared but he laid perfectly still for a CT scan which revealed he did indeed have a skull fracture. Our ER doc and a neurosurgeon at primary children's saw no internal bleeding and said he was good to go home and that the fracture would heal on its own. All we have to do is keep him from jumping around for a while and follow up with his pediatrician. We feel so incredibly lucky that he walked out of there with a smile on his face and a new little slinky that they brought him which he is now sleeping with. We promised him a donuts so we took him to the "donut's house" which is what he calls Krispy Kreme, for his favorite, the pink sprinkle donut. We've officially gotten his first broken bone in the books! Now onto the black mold containment!

__________
Arm wrestling gone terribly wrong!! ⚠️ Fracture of the humerus following an arm wrestle is a relatively rare occurrence. The shoulder joint is actively internally rotated against the opponent while the elbow is fixed in flexion, resulting in enormous violent torque forces across the humeral shaft.

This type of arm wrestling injury is the result of the defending arm wrestler taking or being forced to take a posture in which his centre of gravity and therefore his body weight shifts. As the offensive wrestler continues with the attack, the defender's internal rotator shoulder muscles suddenly and passively stretch and change from their maximally concentric contraction to an eccentric compensatory contraction, resulting in an intense rotational force with subsequent humeral fracture.

Take home message!

Arm wrestling is an enjoyable ego boosting sport, but it is not benign and should not be attempted on a competitively serious level by those who are not regularly trained arm wrestlers.

Hi guys, our good buddy @adriang08’s furbaby
Kahlúa had a horrible accident yesterday. She is THE sweetest pitty you’ll ever meet. She’s racked up a CRAZY vet bill, so if you’re interested in helping them out, you can find a gofundme link on Adrian’s bio. —————————————————-
Hello everyone, my name is Adrian and I am the proud father of the sweetest pitbull I've ever met. Kahlúa is a 1 year old rednose pitbull full of love and energy. She came into my life on Christmas eve of 2017. Since then, we have created a bond so close that I've started doing things that I never thought I would do just to keep my baby happy. Those of you who have been fortunate enough to come in contact with her know how loving and full of life she is. On August 12th, Kahlúa managed to squeeze through a crack in the gate and was struck by a truck as she was running across the street to grab a ball. As a result of the accident Kahlúa has a fractured right femur and her left hip is displaced. I've been communicating with the Bone and Joint surgeon and he has determined that Kahlúa will require surgery. The right femur fracture is a standard prognosis while the left hip displacement is much more complicated. The surgeon has given me three options: 1) Begin the procedure and potentially transition into a full hip replacement, 2) Go right into a full hip replacement, and 3) the "alternative" due to high financial costs. The surgeon and I decided to go with option 1, which means there may still be a chance she will need a full hip replacement. Yesterday's visit alone cost me $3100, which included consult, treatment and overnight stay (and that was the low end of the estimate). Today, we decided to perform a CT scan, which cost $1000 plus $1200 for sedation. Kahlúa will undergo surgery tomorrow morning, which means more charges for overnight stay and treatment. Before the procedure, we are looking at costs that run around $6500-$7000. If we have to do a full hip replacement, we are looking at an additional $10,000. This is all very costly but option 3 to me was never an option. I told myself that I would find ways to pay off her full treatment and that's why I'm creating this GoFundMe page.

Screws generally fracture, implants rarely. This is a second case of implant fracture that was referred to me.
Causes:- unknown.
Occlusal load:- maybe/maybe not
Who's supposed to be blamed for such a case ? I need to read more regarding this.

The case was reported with a chief complaint of a "loose bridge".
The radiographs didn't reveal any fracture. As I loosened the abutment screws, through an access hole drilled through these cement retained crowns, the whole bridge popped out along with the fractured implants. The implants were myriad plus(the blue one). I'm not sure about the type of titanium used for manufacturing these implants. Also I haven't placed any myriad implants till date. Used the kit for the first time and was surprised to not find a Lance drill, which I'm very used to. I'm soo not a fan of this implant system.
Ya, so back to the case; the implant fragments were extracted; the socket was degranulated and packed with some calcium and some precious platets and fibrin from the patients own blood.

And believe me, removing an osseointigrated broken implant fragment is not an easy task. That too without a trephine drill. Didn't have one as I had not suspected a fracture. So a lesson I learnt was;"always be ready for unexpected during such cases." Now lets pray to the lord osteogenesis that time will heal the wound and we get good bone for re-implantation.

Clinical diagnosis is based on meticulous examination of the eye, including patient vision and palpation of the orbital aperture.
Prior to CT imaging, 2-D x-rays were considered sufficient for pre- and postoperative diagnostics in orbital fractures. One of the great weaknesses of 2-D imaging is that in many cases a fracture is revealed, but not the degree of fracture displacement. Since the advent of CT imaging, the surgeon can better define fractures, as well the degree of fracture displacement and the necessity for fracture reduction.
The complexity of an orbital fracture is defined by the combination of its anterior-posterior and mediolateral extensions. This complexity is not visible on 2-D x-rays. Therefore, proper diagnosis and treatment should be based on voxel-based datasets (CT, cone beam).
A common feature of an orbital wall fracture is intra-/periorbital air which appears clinically as emphysema (independent of whether the injury was penetrating or nonpenetrating).
The most widely available technology is CT scanning which has the advantage of combined hard- and soft-tissue visualization. Cone beam technology is becoming increasingly popular although only hard tissues can be reliably assessed. MRI is limited to soft-tissue visualization with only indirect information on hard tissues, and is not part of the standard work-up of orbital fractures.
In some cases, radiographic assessment alone is insufficient to determine the extent, morphology, and quality of the fracture. In some complex cases a complete understanding of the fracture morphology is obtained only after surgical exposure.

Orbital floor fractures can present as blow-out fractures or in combination with a zygoma or Le Fort fractures. A blow-out fracture (pure) is a fracture of internal orbital walls without fractures of orbital rims.
When we refer to an orbital floor fracture in this text, a blow-out fracture is meant.

Left: Sagittal slices (hard-tissue window) of the same patient.
Note: A sagittal view for visualization of the orbital floor has to be oriented in the axis of the

Just gonna call it like it is: today was an asshat and I may be a serious klutz. Mom and I took the niece and nephews to the movies. I was headed back down the stairs to grab pizza for the kiddos and the heel of my clog got caught on the stair. I fell down the stairs and landed in excruciating pain. I did something real special to my ankle. As I laid there on the stairs writhing in pain, I thought I was either going to pass out, throw up or both and I started sweating profusely. It took about ten minutes for the paramedics to show up. They stopped the previews and turned on the lights. I nearly died of embarrassment at that point but then it got worse. They carried me out by lifting me and creating an arm seat. 😭🤦🏻‍♀️Then we got in the hallway and apparently my blood pressure dropped and heart rate slowed, I turned a frightening shade of white and that’s when I ended up on the bench at the movie theatre with a freaking IV in my arm and oxygen in my nose. And then on a gurney. This is when my husband appeared and said, “her ankle doesn’t LOOK swollen”. If I could have, he would have gotten a tongue lashing at that point but I was given drugs and couldn’t speak much so he got lucky. Please note it now looks like a blue cantaloupe. My mom stayed in the theatre with the kids who were completely unphased my the whole thing and have NOT asked how Aunt B is. We spent the afternoon at the hospital. It’s either s severe sprain or a hairline fracture. I’ll have to see a specialist this week. It’s currently being treated like a fracture immobilized in a boot. And I am wildly cranky.
.
I’m posting this photo of our green kitchen tile which I adore like nothing else aside from my people. Especially #themillierose , my niece. Who, this week pee peed on the potty and sang hallelujah when she finished. Which is neither here nor there but makes me happy to the nth degree.

First thank you all so much for your prayers and comments and cards and flowers sent to the church and some to my home. After an MRI and talking with the surgeon he says it’s too bad to heal on its own. It’s slightly worse than the X-Ray initially showed. The ligament is not only completely torn away but folded in on itself in addition to an avulsion fracture which has caused loose bone fragments in my hand. As a result he says it would actually never reconnect/heal on its own. They strongly feel that surgery is the only option to fix it. I believe that God can do anything including reattach ligaments. In fact 2 people who were healed in some of our services testified today of God doing that very thing for them during this outpouring we’ve been experiencing. Praise God! After prayer and wise counsel with my wife, the elders that serve alongside me at @deeper_church and my covering I’m at peace to go through with the surgery so it can heal properly. The surgery will take place this coming week unless of course God does something supernaturally before then. Surgery is not a lesser form of healing and I still need your prayer for the doctors to do their part right so that God can ultimately heal it. There will be a lengthy recovery time and physical therapy after the surgery to regain full range of motion but we will get through it. Thank you for standing and believing God with me. It’s a lot but God is faithful and He’s always good! Keep praying for me and my wife @simplylatae who is also due to give birth any day now. Also help us pray that God sends the right help for our family in this season. We will need it. God bless you all!

THIS BOY HAS BEEN AT THE SHELTER SINCE FEBRUARY 18th!!!!💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 SAVE HIS LIFE PLEASE- ADOPT HIM AND REHABILITATE- even ‼️‼️TEMPORARILY ‼️‼️ Parker first came to us here at the Animal Care & Adoption Center on February 19. He was suffering from several severe injuries. X-rays were performed and it was determined that he had an old fracture which had not been treated. As a result Parker’s foot healed incorrectly. He also had a large abscess on his elbow that required extensive treatment.
After lengthy and substantial recuperation, Parker was fully vetted for adoption with hopes that a loving adopter would be able to look past his old injury.
Unfortunately poor Parker can be a bit standoffish as well and isn’t the most sociable of cats, so after almost two months in a Pet Supermarket store he still did not find his purrfect match. Now PARKER is back at the Animal Care & Adoption Center and desperate to find the right home!
Parker is 2 years old, 9 lbs., and would be quite happy left to his own devices. A beautiful sunny window sill. A safe and secure patio. A leisurely life, well-cared for but granted his independence. These are the things our Parker dreams of.
If you are looking for a cat like Parker, he’s looking for a human like you.
Please contact [email protected] with animal id number A1802219. Or better yet, come down to the Animal Care & Adoption Center to meet him and take him home.

Thanks for all the love and support - as you might have noticed I have been off the radar for the past week to rest and to process what has happened. Your kind words and well-wishes really helped me a lot. I just came back from the hospital and received some more info from the doctors.
Unfortunately, during my recent scooter accident I sustained a tibial plateau fracture, which is a nasty break in the upper part of my lower leg. I need surgery to be able to heal properly, which is scheduled for Thursday July 12th.
After surgery, at least 6 weeks of rest and revalidation are needed. Therefore I’m very sad to announce I won’t be playing any of the announced shows until the 23rd of August. I’ll keep you updated about my surgery and recovery and when there is news to share you guys will be the first to know.
I can’t put into words how sad I am about cancelling these shows and the whole situation. I am deeply sorry to all my fans that were looking forward to seeing me and the band live. Me and my team are working really hard together with promoters to reschedule the shows to a later date.

All I can do now is take my rest and hope for a smooth and good recovery. I can’t wait for the moment to rock on stage once again!

Much love, Sam Feldt ♥️

Should I get an X-ray if I sprained or twisted my ankle?
Answer:

Something asked a lot is whether an X-ray is necessary. There are a few simple guidelines you can follow in making an assessment whether you should get an X-ray or not.
1. If you are unable to bare any weight at all - an acute soft tissue injury like a sprained ankle will always result in pain whilst weight bearing in the early stages, but even with the most severe sprains, you should be able to bare some weight even if minimal. A simple test is to stand using an aid either crutches or a table or a friend, gently rest your foot flat on the floor in a comfortable position, transfer weight to the injured ankle slowly, even a 10% weight bearing movement can suffice at an early stage. If you are unable to do this at all without severe pain then I would suggest an X-ray ASAP.
2. If you are unable to move your foot and ankle - the swelling induced by the body will limit the range of motion and ability to motive the ankle but at the least you should be able to do some basic movements even if restricted. Whilst seated try to move your toes, point your foot forward and backwards and side to side, if you can’t do any of these and there is absolutely no movement then I would suggest an X-ray ASAP.
3. No improvement after 3-5 days. If you have no improvement with the above mentioned in the first 3-5 days, then it’s likely there is other underlying issues, possibly a hairline fracture or evulsion fracture which commonly occurs with severe sprains.
4. Swelling above the ankle - generally ankle sprains will become swollen and this should be mainly localised to the inner and outer ankle, foot and toes. But if you have excessive swelling above the ankle extending more than 1 inch above then this could be a sign of a fractured fibula or tibula. A simple assessment can be carried out at home - use your thumb or finger and press along the fibula and tibula bones starting at the knee and work down feelin along the bones, if you reach a point above the ankle that’s extremely sensitive or tender and you are unable to bare weight, I would suggest and X-ray ASAP.

"Cannabinoids are facilitative of the process of bone metabolism... CBD in particular has been shown to block an enzyme that destroys bone-building compounds in the body, reducing the risk of age-related bone diseases like osteoporosis and oesteoarthritis. In both of those diseases, the body is no longer creating new bone and cartilage cells. CBD helps spur the process of new bone-cell formation, which is why it has been found to speed the healing of broken bones and, due to a stronger fracture callus, decrease the likelihood of re-fracturing the bone (bones are 35-50 percent stronger than those of non-treated subjects)."

Back in 2016, in Zurich, I was told that I had a fracture in my lumber spine and that my injury wouldn’t heal and therefore I had to stop dancing, immediately. With just recently having to move from Stockholm to pursue my goals and become a professional dancer, I really wasn’t ready to let go. I simply couldn’t explain it more than that I just HAD to dance. To stop dancing was not an option. After a year of ups and downs and a billion flights & travels later, I managed to recover: my spine was healed and I couldn’t possibly be any happier.
After moving around to too many different places in only a year, I finally settled in Stockholm and started at my old ballet school. I’ve just recently come home from spending 5 amazing weeks in New York. I’ve been dancing for 8 years. It’s been a good 8 years but with ballet comes a lot of suffering. I am simply tired of ALWAYS being in pain, ALWAYS having to strive for perfection but never ever get there. I want to get an actual education which will ensure my future, guarantee that I’ll get a job. I want to TRAVEL, I want to explore the world and I don’t feel like becoming a professional dancer would give me any of that. I no longer want my life to depend on ballet.
Ballet is THE most beautiful art form and never have I ever loved doing anything as much as I love(d) to dance. And I still do. Just not as much. It’s come to the point(e) where I can see myself doing SO many other things. Although I am crying while writing this, I know that it’s the right decision. And the most important, it’s MY decision- not any doctors, not my parents nor dance teachers. As weird as it may sound, I’ve been traveling & moving around too much. I won’t be able to settle down as dance will require me to. ‘Because here’s the truth; mental time travel and country hopping is an addiction.’ ((👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼more))

Everyone on the @naz_elite team has a different program to work on imbalances and also get stronger in areas we need to stay durable. @hypo2chiro is the watchful eye while we work, very helpful to make sure the movement pattern is correct. For me a lot of work lately has been focused on glutes, lower back, and low leg strength as we believe weakness in these areas lead to bad running mechanics last year ultimately resulting in a pelvis stress fracture. When is was in my 20s I could get away without much focus on strength, but as I age these session become more and more important. Yes, the best way to get better at running is to run a lot, but if you are injured then you can’t run at all so focus on the weakness before they become a major problem.

_
One of the largest players in one of the world's most brutal sports seeks to change the stereotype.
_
Standing at a formidable 6'5" and weighing 252lbs (18 stone, 115kg) Irish International Anthony Mullally is one of the biggest players in the UK Rugby League. He charges through his opponents without fear or hesitation, with a force relatable to the world’s largest and strongest mammals – much like his namesake "The Vegan Rhino", also a powerful herbivore. 🦏
_
After following a vegetarian diet for two and a half years before going vegan in 2017, Mullally is now aiming to get rid of some stigmas in the rugby community and prove you definitely don't need meat to gain strength and perform at your best at the highest levels of sport.
_
In hardcore sports like Rugby no one wants to come across as 'weak' - and making lifestyle choices that fly in the face of the macho-dominated rugby world doesn't come without the critics.
_
He recalls when he switched to a vegan diet his team mates would tease him about his diet:
_
“When we eat out [at restaurants] the lads would pass me the plant pot in the middle of the table to eat”
_
But it's a testament to Mullally's character, a man who also works closely with homeless charities, that he doesn't bend to peer pressure; he isn't afraid to be different because he's doing what matters.
_
Mullally recently had a DEXA bone scan which showed that his bone density had actually became stronger since changing his diet. “The idea of milk being good for your bones is a myth” states Mullally, and nutritional science agrees, with hip fracture rates highest in populations with the greatest milk consumption [www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24247817].
_
And as more and more nutrition studies are published confirming that we are indeed much heathier when we skip the meat and dairy, we'll see more athletes adopting plant-based diets and enjoying the performance benefits Mullally has experienced.

A 30 years old patient was brought to Oral and Maxillofacial surgery department with a penetrating facial injury by a wooden log passing through the left lateral side of his below the angle of mandible and protruding through oral cavity causing comminuted fracture of mandible after a road traffic accident.
There was moderate bleeding and respiratory distress. On examination there was significant bleeding with no neurological deficit. Moderate trickling of blood from the entry site was noted. The blood pressure was 140/90 mmHg and the pulse rate was 110/min. The management of the patient was done by following the advanced trauma life support (ATLS), which begins with a rapid assessment of the airway, breathing, and circulation. Airway management in such a patient with penetrating injury to the neck was challenging. The patient was unable to lie in supine position due to long wooden log stuck behind the neck. There was high chance of aspiration of blood and saliva. The patient was planned for tracheostomy to secure airway. Therefore the wooden log was shortened out near close proximity to the left retromandibular region. General anesthesia was then administered through the tracheostome.

After adequate exposure the wooden log was removed in toto . Lingual and facial artery were identified and ligated with 2-0 silk. No other foreign body was seen. Hemostasis was achieved and the area cleaned with betadine saline wash. There were no injury to great vessels and nerves of neck. Reduction and fixation of fracture mandible was done by stainless steel mini pates and screws. Wound was then closed in layers after securing the suction drain.

Post operative evaluation showed no injury to facial and lingual nerve. The patient had an uneventful postoperative period and was discharged on the 10th day with tracheostomy tube removed. He was followed up regularly. Review after 1 month showed no functional or major aesthetic problems.

These could be prevented if balers were equipped with adequate safety equipment and if appropriate precautions and warnings were posted with operators given proper instruction regarding the use of the machines. Unfortunately, however, manufacturers continue to design defective machinery.
Degloving injuries are surgical conditions in which an extensive portion of skin and subcutaneous tissue is detached from the underlying fasciae, muscles, or bone surface. Frequently, the is an association of fracture underlying the degloved area.
Typical baler injuries that occur while operating hay balers involve having limbs pulled into the machine, being severely burned if it catches fire, or being scalped if hair gets caught.
This degolving injury happened while working in the farm, when the patients pants got caught up in a hay baler (a piece of farm machinery used to compress a cut and raked crop) and dragged his foot in, causing severe spiral degolving injury from multiple blades.
The rotating force of the driveline shaft pulled off the entire skin.
Luckily enough, there was no major vascular damage or any fracture, other than the intersection of 2 extensor tendons.
Treatment usually includes replantation or revascularization of the degloved skins, or when these are not possible, skin grafts or skin flaps.
His injuries required extensive skin grafting and tendons were surgically repaired.

For some people it is just an astronomical event when the moon is imprinted with the earth’s shadow from the sun, and for others there is astrological symbolism and energetic meaning to it too.

From the latter point of view, lunar eclipses in general symbolise facing thyself. They reflect ushering out the old and bringing in the new, on both personal and collective levels. This can be a painful process at times, because serious change is usually a challenge for most people. However, this blood moon represents reflection, healing and change, particularly regarding the ageing fracture between the masculine and feminine. This isn’t just on an external level, but also internally too. After all, we all have both energies inside us, which unfortunately most of us haven’t integrated.

Now regardless if you personally believe in the philosophy of ‘as above, so below’, this lunar eclipse was nearly the longest of what is theoretically possible (it went for one hour and forty three minutes of a maximum one hour and forty seven minutes). Therefore, it gave us almost all it could for us to see it (and feel it). In that essence it represents deep reflection, which should encourage us to look deep into our own lives. As noted in this article: “This is a time for us to purge, cleanse, and detoxify.” . #views #mondaymotivation #work #workout #trip #yoga #namaste #vegan #food #fashion #love #ocean #meditation #nba #self #selfie #me #beach #universe #meditation #wcw #midnight #club #friday #selfhelp #toronto #420 #soca #water #carnival #cbdoil

Peruvian blue opal is relatively rare and is only found in the Andes mountains near San Patricio, Peru. It is a very translucent stone with color similar to the Caribbean Sea. Depending on how the stone is cut it can be clear, scenic (showing varying degrees of color) or dendritic which has black fern like inclusions.

This is the national stone of Peru and, unfortunately, in recent years dyed stones have been mass marketed by unreputable dealers as Peruvian Blue Opal. If the blue color is uneven you are probably looking at a dyed stone. Dyed stones are quite common and sell very cheaply at gem shows and on internet auctions.

Peruvian opal ranges between 5.5 and 6.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness.

Luster: Vitreous to pearly.
Transparency: Transparent to translucent.
Fracture: Conchoidal.
Streak: White.

75 to 45 mm free form bead
30 inches in length

Quite a few people I’ve spoken to recently know someone who has osteoporosis, so I thought I’d share the learning from nutrition study and also look to help someone I know.
Osteoporosis is a degenerative condition that weakens the bones, making them fragile and more likely to fracture of break (the stage before this is called Osteopenia). As we age we lose bone mass and there are some key things we should do (I’ll tell you more about this later). Most people get all the vitamins and minerals they need from a healthy diet, but there are some groups of people of people who are more at risk (eg. those on some long term medications, if you’re a heavy smoker or drinker, those with a very low bmi, women post menopause, family history, etc).
Top tips for those at risk...
1. VITAMIN D If you’re over 65 (or those who don’t get much sunshine-which is where we get a good dose) take a vitamin D supplement. A daily supplement of 10 micrograms per day is recommended, but it can also be found in oily fish, Eggs, fortified breakfast cereals, fortified spreads and dairy products. VITAMIN D plays an important role in bone health (it is needed by the body to absorb calcium) and muscle function. Because vitamin D is needed for increased bone and muscle strength, low levels of vitamin D can increase the risk of falls and fracture.
2. CALCIUM - this is particularly important in the diet (especially as our bones are growing and developing), 3. EXERCISE regularly for prevention. However, if you have osteoporosis low intensity weight bearing exercise-walking is perfect (as bones respond to the weight they carry, compressing and strengthening the bones). A cross trainer is a good start as it doesn’t put too much strain in the joints.
4. Give up smoking and cut down on excessive alcohol. It can have a huge affect on bone health.
5. NUTRITION: Eat a balanced diet and try to include milk, cheese, leafy green vegetables, oily fish, fortified foods such as cereal, etc.
Sorry for the massive post!!

Head vs hammer. Yep, someone took a hammer to this dudes head.
So first let’s look at the imaging. The first is a 3D image of the skull showing the skull fracture. The second photo shows imaging of the brain showing the fracture site and a blood clot that developed within the brain or an intraparenchymal bleed. This type of bleed causes a blood clot which expands inside the brain, pushing aside adjacent brain tissue and compressing it (see autopsy photo of bleed - not from this patient). These types of bleeds can also occur spontaneously, without trauma, in a patient with uncontrolled, high blood pressure. This is called a hemorrhagic stroke.
In the case of the patient who was struck in the head with the hammer, he lived. He was even alert and talking!

I look forward to the day when our youth once again understand they can genuinely have "brothers" of any color, much more like it was when I was a kid.
I look forward to the day when we no longer have a media voice of negativity and division poisoning our nation against itself, convincing us how much we hate each other.
I look forward to the return of peace and normalcy when big government wasn't trying to trick the citizens into voting away their rights.
I look forward to the day when the media can no longer flagrantly cover for hostile crooks and continue to enjoy any credibility, or respect.
I look forward to a day when a loving mother and father team to raise happy, stable, respectable kids is once again recognized as being the optimal, time-proven model for which to strive.
I look forward to a time when we no longer fund our violent enemies.
I look forward to a day when young people are once again taught to respect their elders in an intelligent and healthy way.
I look forward to a culture where men and women, while being equals, are boldly celebrated for being wonderfully different in all their natural and colorful ways, which need no apology.
I look forward to a country where my kids can grow up in peace, free to achieve whatever they may, without the crushing boot of massive government taxation standing on their necks.
I look forward to an inspiring nation much more like our founding fathers intended, where we can all be whatever we choose to be, without some oppressive government entity dictating how we say, or do whatever we will.
In truth, we are not all enemies as we're currently being told. We should NOT fracture and decide we're all victims who need government rescue at the cost of our freedom.
Ignore the false propaganda. Keep your rights. Unite as citizens of ONE USA. 🇺🇸 Throw off the dark agenda pushed by our would-be oppressors and recover the country we all really want.
It's right at our fingertips. We just have to all stand up and make it happen together.🇺🇸

Upper teeth protrusion is one of the very common problems we see in children and teenagers. We usually recommend those cases to be treated at early age due to the many negative effects like:
1-Negative psychological effects on the child that makes him/her less confident and more isolated 2- S/he gets more bullied at school which can make him/her hate going to school or affect their grades.
3- Affect their speech and pronunciation.
4- Affect their chewing of food. 5- make the teeth more prone to trauma and fracture.
This a case of one of my patients 11yrs, showing how we were able to reduce the protrusion of teeth in 9 months only. This lead to huge improvement of the patients pschycology, confidence, and school grades.

Conductor Casing :
The conductor is the first casing string to be run, and consequently has the largest diameter. It is generally set at approximately 100ft below the ground level or seabed.
Its function is to seal off unconsolidated formations at shallow depths which, with continuous mud circulation, would be washed away,
Prevent washing out under rig, Provide elevation for flow line ,
Provide support for part of the wellhead, The surface formations may also have low fracture strengths which could easily be exceeded by the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the drilling fluid when drilling a deeper section of the hole. In areas where the surface formations are stronger and less likely to be eroded the conductor pipe may not be necessary.
In soft-rock areas or most offshore environments, the pipe is hammered into the ground with a large diesel hammer. Hard-rock areas require that a large-diameter, shallow hole be drilled before running and cementing the pipe..

See you all on May 27!

According to a large scale study of thousands of Swedish people, cow's milk has a deteriorating effect on health when consumed in the long term. The research was published in the British Medical Journal. The study, which tracked 61,433 women aged 39-74 over 20 years, and 45,339 men of similar age for 11 years, found that the more cow's milk people drank, the more likely they were to die or experience a bone fracture during the study period. The risks were especially pronounced for women, a group advised to drink milk to avoid bone fractures that result from osteoporosis. Women who said they drank 3 or more glasses of milk a day had almost double the chance of dying during the study period as those who reported drinking only one. A glass is defined as a 200 milliliter serving. They also had a 16% higher chance of getting a boner fracture anywhere in the body.
The dairy industry has been hard at work the last 50 years convincing people that pasteurized dairy products such as milk or cheese increase bioavalable calcium levels. This is totally false. The pasteurization process only creates calcium carbonate, which has absolutely no way of entering the cells without a chelating agent. So what the body does is pull the calcium from the bones and other tissues in order to buffer the calcium carbonate in the blood. This process actually causes osteoporosis. Pasteurized dairy contains too little magnesium needed at the proper ratio to absorb the calcium. Most would agree that a minimum amount of cal to mag ratio is 2 to 1 and preferably 1 to 1. So dairy milk, at a cal/mag ratio of 10 to 1, has a problem. You may put 1200mg of dairy calcium in your mouth, but you will be lucky to actually absorb 1/3 of that.
Over 99% of the body's calcium is in the skeleton, where it provides mechanical rigidity. Pasteurized dairy forces a calcium intake lower than normal and the skeleton is used as a reserve to meet these needs. Long-term use of skeletal calcium to meet these needs leads to osteoporosis. Dairy is pushed on Americans from birth yet they have one of the highest risk of osteoporosis in the world. Source: realfarmacy.com

Name: Airen Cracken
Homeworld: unknown
Species: Human
Fate: alive until proven dead
Bio: Even before the Alliance to Restore the Republic was established, the male human Airen Cracken was an accomplished freedom fighter. It was he who led the planetary militia that freed his homeworld from the oppression of the Galactic Empire, which led him to be fast-tracked to a general's commission within the Alliance Military.
By the time of the Battle of Scarif, General Cracken served as the Chief of Rebel Intelligence. Cracken was personally involved in setting up spy networks throughout the Outer Rim, so Rebel Intelligence was represented on the rebel council by one of his trusted field operatives, General Davits Draven. Despite his absence, he still compiled a dossier regarding Operation Fracture at Mon Mothma's request.
Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, while serving in his capacity of Head of Security and Intelligence and confronted with the responsibility of rescuing three rebel spies in danger of capture by the Empire, Cracken showed reluctance in recruiting smuggler Han Solo for the mission. However, he was convinced by Princess Leia Organa, citing the fact that they were running out of options and out of time.
During the Battle of Endor, Cracken served aboard the Millennium Falcon with Lieutenant Blount. The two were initially in the ship's cockpit with its pilot, General Lando Calrissian, co-pilot Nien Nunb and a navigator, but they soon manned the ship's quad turrets and served as gunners.
