Jay-Z and Chris Lighty, photographed at the pre-release album party for Ne-Yo's debut album In My Own Words, held at the now-closed Hiro Ballroom located inside the Maritime Hotel in Chelsea, New York City on February 27, 2006.
The semi-retired rapper explained how his role on the album was to act like an editor, saying that his "thing was to keep the album short and sweet. When an artist has his first album, they tend to want to put 21 songs on there. He didn't take it personally. We took songs off the album and he had no problem with it." At this point, Jay and Lighty had known each other for well over ten years—in fact, Chris was the one who had hired Jay-Z to ghostwrite the majority of Foxy Brown's debut album Ill Na Na in 1996, and had been the one who introduced Jay to his "consigliere" John Meneilly. In an interview supporting the debut of his Spotify-sponsored "Mogul" podcast, former Roc-A-Fella Records lawyer Reggie "Combat Jack" Ossé highlighted the influence Lighty had on the business mind of Shawn Carter, saying "it's important that Lighty's story is told because his presence is so strongly felt today. I look at Chris' influence in what JAY-Z is doing, someone who's so multifaceted. We found out that Chris was really looking at getting into sports and looking at brands that were really beyond the beverage or the alcohol or apparel. It's obvious that Chris was definitely an influence on Jay and Diddy, who was managed and influenced by Lighty at a certain juncture in his career. If you look at the Diddys and the JAY-Zs and even the Dr. Dres, becoming 'hip-hop's first billionaire' is evidence of blueprints laid down by Chris."

What do you say when you lose your best friend? Elvis had the sweetest, most loving soul I’ve ever encountered. He was a lover through and through. He made my life better. He made ME better. He made me laugh. He loved his daddy. He loved everyone. And I believe he left an impression on everyone he ever met. My sweet baby boy. My googly eyes. That snaggletooth. He snored. He got super excited about food. He loved walks. Loved playing with socks. Loved wrestling. He loved going to the park and getting in the water. Today has been the worst day of my life. My heart is broken. To those of you who loved Elvis, we were up all night. He wouldn’t let me touch his stomach. He was whining and crying and very restless. We went to the ER (a very good friend joined me so I wouldn’t be alone, idk what I’d have done without her, and I’ll be eternally grateful ♥️) They did blood tests and an ultrasound, and determined that Elvis had a very aggressive cancer in his hip, pelvis, leg, and abdomen. It happened so fast. He was in pain and suffering. There was nothing more that could be done. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I feel broken, I don’t know how to continue every day life. Elvis was my child. He will always be my child. My “first born” I always called him. I’ll hold you in my heart forever baby boy. Rest easy now. 💔 I love you son. I’ll hold you in my arms again I promise ♥️

Cypress Hill How I Could Just Kill A Man: This 1991 classic hit in NYC first prior to being big in LA. The Hill were accepted by NYC as one of there own initially many thought they were Boricua’s from East New York in Brooklyn being that Cypress Houses is a big Housing project in one of Brooklyns roughest areas. This records musical bed had many thinking they were from NY as well. We had never heard anything like this from the west musically as @djmuggs_the_black_goat_ and his warped sp1200 style completely turned a sample of Tramp upside down. With a Bomb Squad meets Ultra meets Vato Loco style, this became a Funk FlexTunnel classic. I had the early demos and me and my friends were fans before the record ever came out having known Muggs from his days in 7A3. This song has the sense of aggression I often find lacking in modern rap. @BReal ‘s nasal flow was reminiscent of the Adroc and Rammallzee but with unique gang bang kind of way and a style all his own. He sounded psycho and hilarious at the same time and was a complete game changer. Add in @SenDog ‘s Chuck D inspired backgrounds and his off kilter fresh raps and you had one of the greatest west coat hip hop groups ever to do it. They shot there initial videos in NYC as well lending further to the coastal confusion. It could be said they were the first bi coastal rap group.
Other than possibly Dr Dre, Muggs for many was and is the greatest golden era producer from the West Coast. Funny thing though, Muggs is originally from Queens go figure! Cypress for me is one of my all time favorite groups, there live show is unfuckwithable to this day and the first LP is mine and @jzonedontig ’s favorite rap album ever. Today makes 27 years since they dropped there amazing first record so I wanted to salute my friends! #SaluteCypressHill #Happy27th #SoulAssassins

My dad is a army vet a retired police officer and also 73 years old. He is the nicest most patient man i know so it makes this even more crazy this happened to him. Last week (he didn't want to tell me because the old pre kids me would of done something) he went in here to ask someone to put air in his tires and he would pay but the man who he said had to be the owner or manager told him to wait his damn turn to pull it in the garage. My dad did not want to pull it in the garage because like most small hustler businesses the next thing you know they are showing you a bunch of stuff that magically broke and needs fixing. So my dad tells him he needs to get back to his 100 year old mom with a broken hip if he could just have one of his guys do it real quick for him and the guy tells him "i don't give a f about your dying mom or your problems or and of your other family". Now i understand not having time but to talk to anyone let alone a former police veteran senior citizen is crazy to me. So make sure whatever you guys do you don't call and tell him what you think about treating someone like that, and definitely dont comment what he says if you do because i wouldn't love to hear him get told by a bunch of people what a pos he is

They pinioned his wings, which means removing the joint that is the farthest from the body to prevent flight. I am not against clipping wings but this is a horrible thing which is forbidden by law for over 15 years. Because of this he is not able to even gilde a bit when he loses his balance.

We went to our avian vet right away on friday and after taking x-Rays (check out my previous post) he told us it was a bad injury, broken on a difficult area and he needed surgery. It was located right nect to his hip joint. We had to leave Chico there, he gave him pain medication and would do surgery right away. Chico his age is unknown and he was not in the best condition when we got him. Our avian vet was really worried about anesthesia and did everything to make it as safe as possible. Luckily he made it through.... Chico now has a metal rod in his bone, to keep it in place so there will be new bone tissue growing. He has a huge scar on his thigh from surgery and is black and blue. The avian vet was planning on adding an external fixation as well, but because of the location of the fracture this was not possible. We are not out of the woods yet, Chico needs to rest a lot, to avoid to much movement in his leg. We were told that he is lucky to have super strong leg muscles to help keep everything in place😌 This wil be his home for the next 3 weeks, he needs antibiotics and pain medication twice a day for the next 5 days as well.

The first thing I noticed about Jimmy’s squat was the knee cave on the ascent. These poor mechanics made his squat inefficient and led to him fatiguing quickly on this heavy set and having to eventually bail on his last rep.🤭
.
Here’s two examples of exercises I gave him to work on. A lateral banded walk and a single leg banded kick out to the side. Both of these exercises aim to address coordination issues in the lateral hip muscles like the glute medus, parts of the glute max and the smaller glute minimus that lies underneath. These muscles work to control the knee during movements like the squat to limit cave in.👍🏼
.
A few weeks later he was able to show amazing improvement and hit that exact same weight (which he failed at 4 reps prior) now for 6 reps🙌🏼
.
If you’d like to read up on these exercises so you can too fix your issues with knee cave, check out the blog post linked in my bio!📲📲
.
Great work @jimmyszamski & shout out @3d4medical and their app Complete Anatomy for the visual today of the lateral hip!🙏🏼

A former BKc customer who cut his teeth reading The Brooklyn Circus blog in High School. We sat down with Cory Douglas for a few questions on personal style, his role at The Brooklyn Circus and his musical aspirations. And yes people do often mistake him for chance the rapper. ------------------------------------
style?
When I’m making music I love mixing different genres and I look at style the same way. I’d classify my style as tailored casual, but under that umbrella are endless combinations. Whether it’s pairing tailored pants with trainers or sweatpants with loafers. ------------------------------------
BKc?
My first memories of the brand definitely include seeing the OG BKc Classic Logo & BKc Block tees around town, but it was my first visit to the space that change my whole perspective. From the sweet smells of potpourri and Alton Ellis playing through the airwaves to the groovy clothing and fruitful conversations. I knew this was a story I wanted to contribute to. ------------------------------------
Sound?
I grew up on Gospel and Reggae music but it was The Neptunes who propelled my musical journey. So you throw that in the pot and add spices of funk, Hip Hop and R&B that’s how I would describe my sound. ------------------------------------
A normal day?
Ha! Is there a normal day at any circus? You never know what you're gonna do, see or get. One thing's for sure, you'll encounter great music, great stories, beautiful clothing and great vibes.
------------------------------------
Inspiration?
Everyday people and situations from the past and present inspire me. It's always fun to see how the simplist things we sometimes over look bloom into ideas. I’ve been inspired by 90s cartoons, specifically “Hey Arnold” and “Doug.” It’s so fun to watch how these timeless shows created timeless outfits.
------------------------------------
Spirit animal?
Never really thought about my spirit animal lol so I filled out an online generator and got Hummingbird.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
the young men in my group had very interesting + comical perspectives on chivalry + women in general. one of them claimed to be a “love doctor”, but was shy, surprisingly, when asked to share some tips.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
another young man, who’s a hip-hop/rock band member, asked, “if we ever get famous, can you...”, and i stopped him abruptly, demanding that he adjust the question to reflect a more certain future.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“don’t ever say ‘if we’. instead, say ‘when we’. claim your success today.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
after a while, the “follow your dreams” conversations died down, and one young man yelled out, “now, can we talk about sexual intercourse?”. as he asked the question, he pronounced every syllable in the sentence with such pride + dignity, with his chest poked out, as his palms rubbed together like “birdman”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
approval was granted by the teacher, and the sex talk was ready to commence, but i heard lots of crickets. nobody had a thing to say. complete silence. eventually, one brave young soul asked, “what’s some basic advise you can offer, pertaining to sex?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
me: “don’t be in a hurry to have sex, as a result of peer pressure, or what you see on tv. just because your friends are ‘saying’ they had sex, doesn’t mean you have to succumb to the peer pressure.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
coincidentally, one of the young men in my group is the son of a long time friend. he introduced himself, using a moniker that his dad has always used. initially, it didn’t register, but after hearing him say it a few times, a light bulb went off in my head. i pointed at him, and said, “i know your dad.”, and if you don’t act right today, i’m snitching.” please believe he was on his almost-best-behavior after that. ***insert the cliche’, but always relevant, “it takes a village” quote.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
my last message to them: “always be proud + ready to tell someone who you are, and what you’re all about. sit/stand up straight. project your voice. make them remember you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@khelinspromise: thanks! ✌🏽 + 💡

You’ve collaborated with a long and varied list of musicians over the years, including Madonna, Massive Attack and Robbie Williams. What’s it like working with such different types of artists and has it had any affect on you?
.
N’Dea: Collaboration has always been a big part of my career. That’s inevitably how I joined the Brand New Heavies. My whole thing is evolution. You can’t just continuously stay the same because you end up stifling yourself and become complacent. I think it’s important to have different outlets and ways to say different things about who you are as a person.
.
You also previously collaborated with the late Guru, one half of hip-hop duo Gangstarr, on the 1993 track ‘Trust Me’. DJ Premier played here last year and talked candidly about his former partner. What are your memories of working with Guru?
.
N’Dea: Wow, that’s almost an emotional point because we were friends before we worked together. We did several tours around Europe together and also collaborated on another track called ‘When You’re Near’. In the latter years he went off in his own direction and didn’t communicate as much, but sometimes artists have to completely shut down ties with past collaborators and friends to be able to continue to grow into their own life. It’s unfortunate that we’ve lost a really great MC and communicator who was educated with a strong background and who provided really strong information through his work. In some ways Guru didn’t really get his shine like he should have and I find that quite disturbing. I just hope that in his passing people continue to celebrate his life and what he contributed. That’s the only way to keep music legends alive.
.
If you weren’t musicians what would you be doing instead?.
.
N’Dea: I’d be working in architecture and interior design or involved in graphic art. You never know, that may still be something I pursue! .
.
Katsuya: Maybe I’d be a chef or a farmer or a teacher; I can do everything! I haven’t always been a musician, though. I used to work for Microsoft as an office guy, wearing a suit every day. How was it? Very stressful!

Half of the radio DJs alive wouldn’t be where they are if it weren’t for....Funkmaster Flex.
There would be no me without him.
As a kid loving Hip Hop to hear New York Hot 97 radio was like walking into Disney World. It was magic and he was THE magician. Magically making songs hits, introducing new artist, records and he was the gatekeeper and seemed to be best friends with everyone and, who wasn’t biting Flex with dropping bombs during their Mixshow? I always thought it was super wack that other DJs would use his bomb effect. I knew listening to him, I wanted to do what he did. Not be him. Just do what he did. I wanted to make people feel like New York Hot 97 radio and Flex made me feel. Like it’s an event when I am on.
Years later, I get a call from the program director of power 105 in New York. This is Hot 97’s competition. He tells me he likes what I’m doing and offers me the time slot going up against Funkmaster Flex. I immediately think, WHAT!!?? You are giving me the opportunity to be on New York radio? This is it! This is what every DJ dreams of.
I’m thinking I MADE IT!
After being in the clouds for a few minutes, it hit me,
This may not be a smart move.
You see, from a business perspective, I’m from Boston and he is from New York. At this time Hip Hop was New York. At this time Eminem and Benzino were going at it and Em had a line that made It easy for New Yorkers to talk sh!t about Boston AND the age old rivalry between the Yankees and The Sox. Also, this is Flex’s house. The house he built and I am sorta, kinda a DJ he built. He is friends with everyone and who would ride with me over Flex? It would have been career suicide. With that being said, the even bigger reason was,
RESPECT!
Disrespecting him to me, would be disrespecting the very thing I am and what I love. Hip Hop and being a DJ.
The moral other than respect is, not every big move is a good move. Strategize, plan and think long term. Passing on that opportunity opened the door to so many more while taking that opportunity, could have destroyed my DJ career. Now, FLEX is my pal and if he never knew how much he meant to me before, maybe he’ll see this and GET FAMILIAR. #dj #respect

You can trace it all the way back through blues, jazz, doo wop, rock, pop, country, soul, disco, hip hop, whatever, etc... I personally don’t subscribe to this way of thinking. I only believe in two kids of music. Music that moves me and music that doesn’t resonate with me. That’s it! Funny thing is tho, when the artists who “really” do what they do show up, you can hear and feel the difference immediately! Such is the case for Nas and his new project. It’s brilliant and profound on many levels. I was particularly moved by the track “everything” so much so that I just went straight to my piano and started flowing with the chords on a whatever comes out vibe. Artists are the gatekeepers of truth! Paul Robeson said that. And, whatever one thinks of the rap genre or hip hop in general, the truth of Nas and the art he creates is undeniable! Hip hop owes a lot to Nas right now. There are levels to this. May we all strive to be the best version of ourselves every singe day! Repost from @aintnojigga on Instagram: “JAY-Z with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, photographed in his suite backstage at Soldier…” using @RepostRegramApp - JAY-Z with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, photographed in his suite backstage at Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday evening. The leader of the Nation of Islam and his family were personally invited by Hov.
The path to friendship between the rap mogul and the religious leader has been an eventful one. In May 2013 he declared his support for Brother Jay over his and Beyoncé's trip to Cuba. In July 2014 Minister Farrakhan wrote in a letter in the Final Call that he too would have received the rapper's Five-Percent chain "with the biggest smile on my face" like Jay Electronica did on-stage during that month's Brooklyn Hip-Hop Fest. This public support for the show of brotherhood between the head of Roc Nation and his artist came after some followers had criticized Jay Elec's performance for containing profanity.
A year later, in September 2015, the leader of the NOI posted on Facebook how he believed it was Jay's responsibility to instruct his wife to cover her body when in public. Neither artist responded publicly to his statements. In February 2016 Farrakhan offered the NOI security faction to Bey for the "Formation World Tour." During an August 2017 video Farrakhan revealed that he and Hov had spoken for the first time after his grandchildren recommended he listen to 4:44. "When I heard it I was sad, so I said, 'I have to reach out to my brother' because he was talking about people wanting to kill him or people desiring to harm him," Farrakhan said in reference to "Kill Jay Z." "I saw death too, but I never saw death for this great brother from somebody harming him. So I called him and said to him, 'Brother, I see death too.' I see the death of Jay-Z of old and I see the birth of a new JAY-Z." The Minister saw the album as a "new beginning" for Jay, also praised it for its themes relating to black economic responsibility. "In order to do great things, we've got to learn the value of pooling our intelligence, our knowledge, our money, to do the thing that will cause us to be honored and re

Dog. This is crazy. So upset I never got to meet up/chat w #MattDike. Proprietor of @deliciousvinyl records. Creator of some of the most timeless fratty party hip hop ever (“Wild Thing” “Funky Cold Medina””Bust A Move”). Signing some stellar artists that were out of the norm at the time: #BrandNewHeavies #MellowManAce #ThePharcyde) but man, imo his crowning achievement was as one of the producers for one of THE greatest timeless hip hop albums ever #PaulsBoutique. It simply gets better with time (will be 30 years old in 2 years) it took 10 years to go double platinum and was considered a flop at the time of its release. But EVERY creative agrees that this album was not only @beastieboysofficial finest hour —but one of hip hop’s finest hours as well. It was my dream to nerd out and ask him (& the dust brothers too) about how they defied the laws of sampling gravity & made some of the most groundbreaking work ever. Rest In Beats.

His music makes me wanna turn up, happy to be from LA, his ear and his production sound makes me want to put out only the highest quality of whatever I am involved with. This conversation was special to me because I mentioned to @djquik that one thing I feel goes un noticed is the times he and his crew were doing this hip hop thing at a high level, people don’t give him and others enough credit for breaking down walls so that a new generation can say things and do things in music without having to worry. This convo was followed by a really dope talk with @djfellifel about being consistent and making the right choices in the right moments. It's normally easier for me to let days like today to come and go. The sun rises, the day starts. The sun sets, the day is done. The public moves on to the next thing and I get to forget until the next holiday. But I love this man, so why forget about him on a day designed to celebrate him?

I got to spend about 8 years of my life with this man consecutively. I got to spend another two years seeing him periodically (because of foster care - supervised monthly visits - 1 hour each) and then I didn't see him anymore (because cancer). He was super flawed. He drank like a fish and smoked like a chimney but he was always so loving and joyous.

I used to watch Saturday Morning cartoons with him, each of us eating a bowl brimming with white rice and doused in ketchup. He'd carry me on his shoulders and treat me like I was a giant (even though he was only 5'7"). He taught me to be fearless and would never let me come home from a fight crying or cowering. He let me run up his corner store tab with peach rings, twizzlers and oatmeal creme pies. He gave me my affinity for Soca and taught me that when playing dominoes you had to slam your winners down with conviction. I stayed strapped to his hip so much that everybody called me "Little Den Den" 😂 (My dad's name was Denston)

He was a small framed man with a hearty laugh and a magical smile. A Black man. An immigrant. A son. A brother. A nephew. An uncle. And a father to 7 children. I his eldest girl.

I wonder a lot how different my life would be if he'd lived long enough to see me become an adult. If he really would've locked me in the basement when puberty hit like he'd threatened to in my adolescence. Lol. I wonder how many men would've got beat up. (Probably a lot 😩😂) At this point in my life, I've lived longer without him than I lived with him. But my memories of him are still so sharp and vivid. And my heart still reserves space for him. It's remarkable how the human mind does that. We hold on to memories praying that one day they will hold us back. #HappyFathersDay

I’ve been waiting some time to share, to call on you for help. In the spirit of motherhood, today is absolutely the right day to walk the plank in faith. By someone, you have been cared for, you have been given to: for that reason alone, I am asking you to be to become GIVEN right now. I know a boy named Ivan. His mother bore 15 children, and due to HIV and other atrocious illnesses, he is not only an orphan, with neither parent living, but 12 of his 15 siblings have tragically passed away. Ivan is a warrior. He is determined to use his life for good. Right now he is studying at St. Lawrence University in UGANDA and has a dream of building a medical facility for women and children on the island he was born on. Beyond that, he takes care of his grandma, and creates beautiful things out of the flow of his heart. While going to school he has little income, so I asked if I can sell some of his beautiful art on Instagram to help him pay for some basic needs- like a cement slab for the home he lives in. The home has windows and walls, but right now is a dirt floor. I am not asking to pay for gorgeous wood. Not hip Pinterest tile. A slab of cement to put his stuff on. Guys, please buy a piece of his art and be Given to something that actually changes something for someone. The art is a physical image in your home, reminding you to be given to setting bigger than the feet in front of you, a piece that will inspire perspective and gratitude. I want to sell each of his paintings for $60. I will post them I my feed and if you want one, commend on it and it’s yours. I will also post a photo of the home so you know this isn’t a scam. MY GOAL IS TO RAISE WHAT HE NEEDS BY SUN DOWN TODAY. ABOUT $500, but good Lord I think we can exceed it. 😅Venmo me @whitney-Schey and I promise you on all the stars that I will get this money straight to him this week. Additionally, if your heart is tender to this- and you are interested in just donating toward his home, or his schooling, without the purchase of his work, I’m not stopping you. Let’s see what good we can make together with social media thing. *this one is sold*

My Dad would have made a great Han Solo... he had the hair, the wit, the hustle and always had a furry (canine) co-pilot. Remember when so many important people died in 2016 and it’s all anyone could talk about? Well my dad died May 25, 2016 (he, for ME, would point out that it was on the 39th anniversary of Star Wars hitting theaters -if he could-). With all of the celebrity death and political turmoil, I couldn't help but "talk" to him about everything that unfolded after he left us. When the champ Muhammad Ali passed just 8 days after my father, I could only think of my Dad and how he'd playfully find it as no coincidence that such an amazing man and personal hero of his, went so soon after him. Then Kenny Baker, famous for playing R2-D2 died. I believe there was a period of about a year where we'd only communicate in R2's bloops and bleeps, and much like my Dad, Star Wars in general had been there for me my whole life, brightening the dark spots. A few months later, Bill Nunn (aka Radio Raheem), passed away. I immediately thought of my Dad, and how Do the Right Thing was such a big movie for us and how Radio Raheem was the nickname he gave his hip-hop obsessed son. I could see him looking down at me and saying with wide eyes, "Radio Raheem!!," in complete disbelief, but still leaving room to jokingly gloat over the fact that the greats are dropping like flies and that he was part of that class. He was gifted at finding the silver lining in a sad situation. As the year went on, more legends were taken away from us, and each time I thought of how my Dad would respond. He'd probably liken his IQ to John Glenn's or fabricate some musical intuition to bring him closer to Prince or Leonard Cohen....actually, knowing him, he'd acknowledge the loss of the legendary Phife Dawg to appeal to me. Finally, Carrie Fisher aka Princess Leia passed. Wow. I can see him up there, throwing his hands up, as if to say "hey WHAT GREAT COMPANY! The class of 2016!” Happy fathers day, I miss mine. (This first photo was recently sent to me by one of his former students, who found it in a school yearbook where he taught English, the second photo was with my first amazing dog...Boo).

Happy Birthday to my first motocross idol, Ricky Johnson.

I was just thinking about this guy over the last couple days. When I joined the MX industry as a journalist with @cyclenews back in 2000, one of the jobs I was eventually asked to do was to interview people like RJ. I was super-nervous because he was a superhero to me. But, as it turns out, he’s just a dude. This realization helped me figure out that *everybody* is just a person.

But make no mistake about it, champions like RJ *are* cut from a different cloth. The thing about him is that he has the perspective to understand and explain what makes champions stand out. RJ is full of fantastic conversations if you ever get the chance to pin him down.

Too Hip *is* modern motocross and supercross. He’s the standard everyone else after him is/was judged by. And he’s such a legendary champ that he ended up being @redbull’s oldest athlete for quite a few years as he raced off-road trucks.

RJ even faced off with Ivan Stewart and the like to win Micky Thompson Off-Road Truck titles after his MX career was cut short due to a throttle-side wrist injury (after 7 National Championships). RJ had it all: Style, speed, fitness, charisma, and the most dogged determination anybody’s ever seen.

My favorite thing is talking to him about the mental side of racing, and he once told me that when he was racing his old rival David Bailey, Bailey was so incredibly good, and so smooth and calculated, that he knew Bailey would run away and win every race if he let Bailey concentrate on what he’s doing, because Bailey was so much better than him (which RJ acknowledged to himself at the time). So, instead, RJ would take whatever lines he needed in order to harass Bailey by running into him, running over his feet in the turns, and generally being a complete nuisance. That’s the only way RJ could usually beat David Bailey. So that’s what he did.

Which is why when racers, fans and industry people today whine about racers running into each other out on the track, I just roll my eyes. This isn’t badminton. It’s MX, and MX is a contact sport.

So, HFBD RJ. You’re an inspiration. ✊️🏁 📷 Fran Kuhn, Dennis Cox, Brian Nevins, Racer X

Tentatively........ Like Loki from the marvel Avengers, it's hard to discern what side Kanye is on. His dumb tweets supporting Trump is cause for him to be traded in the racial draft and having his black card revoked.
I won't rush to judgment and totally write him off until I hear what he's talking about in his upcoming album. This whole Trump thing could possibly be some kind of a stunt. 🤔 That being said, you can't deny the man's producing and lyrical skill. Not many can go toe to toe with Jay but Kanye can, and has held his own along side the jigga man. He expresses himself while being totally unapologetic. If used the right way, his skill set could be very impactful.
What's the Hip Hop Avengers? It's a super group i envision in mind. A group that i challenge these rap artists to form A group who's lyrical content will address socioeconomic issues affecting the black community, and solutions for said issues.
I need them to collectively put out one album per year. The beats have to be BANGERS. The hook has to be catchy yet thought provoking.

I don't wanna hear no "bang bang, shoot em up, nigga did slow" shit. All I want is lyrics about empowerment and black exceptionalism.

Time goes by fast, in this whole year, I used to learn to be human, always keep changing my disadvantages and always keep cherishing on every opportunities right in front of my eyes. And I knows so many of new friends, they used to tell me about my pros and cons in dancing. I knows that they just want me to have improvement. I am such as guy who likes to listen the truth from the people, that does count the way I improved myself. I can say that I am the happiness one. I have a plan as I want to go Taiwan on next year to join the classes and enjoy the Hip-Hop culture from there. But, there is only one thing which I never forgot is about my father. Recently, I always think back to the past, I remember my father brought me and my eldest brother to enjoy the KFC at often, he used to buy us the toys, he used to give us some money to spend, and we used to watch the Martial arts TV programme together. But ever since I was 10 years old, my father got an accident during working, the doctor said that he has minor concussion and the blood stasis will never be gone, until he used to be cranky, always took the alcohol, and sometimes he will beat me, my eldest brother and mother. I was really upset. But my mom was willing to be his side to take care of him, she said that she is his wife, that's her responsibility. If there's anyone who asked me about what I wish for before 2018 is coming, I will ask for my father back at obviously, I missed my father very much. Now, I only have my mother and my eldest brother left, I will try to spend my time on them. New year, new beginnings, all I want to say to myself is keep on going, that's all. #HappyNewYear

Gosh it just keeps getting better and better 🎉 He’s in the 95th percentile for height, and 16th percentile for weight.. long and lean. Pretty sure he couldn’t be chubby if he tried, he honestly NEVER stops moving 🏃🏻‍♂️🤸🏻‍♂️ Like it blows our minds on the regular! Never known a busier boy 🌪 He loves to go out in the backyard and point to all the airplanes. He lives for garbage/lawn mowing day. He’s a little daredevil and gives me about 10 heart attacks a day 😆 He loves the grocery store (Costco is his fave) and waves/blows kisses to everyone. When we ask where his belly button is he yanks up his shirt and finds it - it’s kind of the cutest thing ever! He prefers Grandpas over Grandmas right now 🤷🏼‍♀️ When he spots me pulling the yellow Charleston Chew box out of the freezer he wigs out with excitement (I mean, my kid only eats organic, gluten free, non gmo, zero sugar, blah blah blah 😉😉) He is still very much obsessed with watermelon. He loves to go hiking with mom and would rather be outside than inside. When he knows he’s not supposed to do something he looks at us, shakes his head no, then does it anyway! #stinker He’s still the best lil sleeper and some days takes 4 hour naps 😳 He loves to make up his own animal noises 🤣 His little voice showing through melts our hearts. He does the cutest “scary face” (with his hands too), loves to show us his muscles, and do happy feet! He claps for himself after every little thing he does, and I hope he never stops! His chocolate eyes and yummy kisses melt me into a giant puddle. We’re joined at the hip he and I and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s a total mamas boy ♥️ I still can’t believe I grew this perfect tiny human 🤯 He’s happy, loud, sweet, determined, silly, and freaking loves life! He teaches me so much everyday. Love this boy to infinity and beyond! “These are the good old days.”

I went to best buy with my $20 expecting to buy the new Vince Staples album which i they expectedly didnt have yet.. But I got walked out with the best thing i couldve gotton from there. Two of hip hop's finest masterpieces #AmeriKKKasMostWanted and #DeathCertificate by one of my favorites, the top ten best, and the king of the west coast #IceCube. They had #ThePredator (which I owned), #LethalInjection and even the #KillAtWillEP. I am beyond happy to finally have these two albums. I gave him a happy bday shoutout, but this one may be better. NWA's masterpiece Straight Outta Compton continues to be one of my favorite albums, mainly bc of him having one of the rawest presences ever! Boyz N Tha Hood, Friday, and Higher Learning are my top three favorite movies (both 21 & 22 Jump Street are top ten if that counts lol) and the top two are my most watched films of all time. After totally outperforming De La Soul, Public Enemy, and LL Cool J, I saw arguably my favorite concert ever. And while my friends are critisizing his stuff from 2008 and beyond, I'm defending it. Happy late Birthday, Ice Cube. You will always be one of my heroes

I just started front squats a couple of weeks ago and took some time getting use to. I felt like this was a pretty good form and weight, but i feel like i could do 135 (maybe by the end of the month?? 🤔🤔) . The thing about learning something new is not to be afraid of executing it. If you’ve been training for some years now and haven’t tried a new exercise believe in yourself. The idea of doing front squats never peaked my interest, but it’s slowly becoming one of my leg day favorites. Excellence of Execution 😎👍🏽

P.s.: If you ever wonder how I can go so low on my squats it’s years of increasing hip flexibility. 🙂🙃🙂 shout out to @giovannac105 for noticing my squats 🤪 and @kalvin_argueta killing the front squats (check his latest video 💪🏽😎)

Hey guys! 👋 I wanted to explain more about what our options are for the situation with Remington. We are probably either going to swap him with one of the other horses owned by his actual owner (he's a lease horse) so we can finish out the year lease and get what we paid for, finish out the year but do small jumps so we know he won't stop, or the last option would be to just send him back to his owner and try to make our other horse Bob work. Bob has been out of work for six months bc he had feet and hip problems. He's such a good boy and I trust him to take care of me but I really don't want to give up Remi. One more thing guys, my sister, @melanie_akridge , is only 14 and has a problem with her wisdom teeth. We went to the dentist and they found a problem with her wisdom teeth coming in. So she is getting them removed. 😱

Entire day( between clients of course ) I focused on shoulder external rotation, scapulae retraction, T-spine extension, hip mobility/extension and rotation. What I have recently been working on is not posture as such but being able to maintain posture while executing my swing. Considering amount of injuries I have experienced during years of sport I am aware that I won’t be able to get into certain positions at ease. That is gonna take me a lot of hard corrective work and I sill might not get there as to much trauma but I’m not giving up and trying to be as fit as can be for my game and as fit as my body can allow me...plus I had young athlete name Ollie( awesome kid ) today for session and out of few tests we did one of them was broad jump for power testing ..damm he done me by 0.5cm ..I was 2m24cm and he was 2m24.5cm..he only just started so he’ll get ahead me in no time and I’ll do everything that is in my power to get him as powerful and as conditioned as I can for his sport which is Judo ..and on top of that I have worked on my swing plane with my beloved wooden stick 😂😂 one more thing guys ..if you really want to achieve your goals it needs to become your passion, your healthy routine , it needs to become part of you! Peace out 🦍😄 #passion #discipline #dedication #commitment #determination #persistence #neverstop #nevergiveup even when it seems like you going backwards ..it’s your dream remember!!! Ps. Forgot to say that I did 3 sets of 1min bursts on what bike ..first was 862m then 840m and 832m 3min rest between ..quads were dead 😂😂

There I was, maybe a year and half old, exploring my world and testing boundaries in our kitchen next to the basement stairs, but my sister had other plans. With a gentle hip bump, she sent me crashing violently down the stairs before coming to an abrupt stop when my melon met the concrete floor of the basement. It became known as, "the thump heard round the house." To everyone's surprise, I lived, and even more surprising, I still manage to develop a slightly apprehensive bond with my sis.
Today, suspicion has been replaced with sincere love and respect. My sister is a strong, badass(mom will hate that I used that word) woman, who works harder than anyone I know, while being an amazingly selfless mother and human. Selfishly, I've always known she loved me, but it never really sank in until I saw her love my son like one of her own. Nolan adores Tia. In fact, outside of a high pitched British video gamer, Tia might be his favorite person on the planet. It's a humbling thing to witness, especially in light of how much I've tormented her kids over the years.
Truly, I couldn't ask for a better sister, and Nolan couldn't get a better tia. But, what do I know? I suffered a severe head injury as a child.

Favorite song of the night- Do Everything. “You're picking up toys on the living room floor
For the 15th time today
Matching up socks, sweeping up lost
Cheerios that got away
You put a baby (or 2 ) on your hip and color on your lips
Head out the door

For the 15th time today
Matching up socks, sweeping up lost
Cheerios that got away
You put a baby (or 2 😉) on your hip and color on your lips
Head out the door
While I may not know you, I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes, does it matter at all
Well let me remind you, it all matters just as long as you
Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do”
@stevencurtischapman It was so nice to meet you tonight! During the concert, I remembered that when I was a stay-at-home with 4-month-old twins and a 2 year old, I had the chorus of this song taped to a wall in my kitchen. Those words (and lots of prayers) got me through many tough (and long!) days of motherhood and are still encouraging to me today! Thank you for writing them and acknowledging the important work that moms do!! #sccsolo #honestmotherhood

My sweet friend @biancapangalila tagged me to do an introduction, so here it goes:
Hey ya’ll! Here’s a few things you might not know about me!
•I’m a 27 year old lover of Jesus. •My husband, @Michaelrochin, and I have been together for 6 years and almost married for 5. •I grew up in a terrible little town just outside of Palm Springs that you’ve probably never heard of (trust me, this is a Good thing!). Though we have been living in Redlands now for 3 years, and it’s been my favorite. •I am a hairstylist of 10 years, turned stay at home mommy to my beautiful baby girl, Ever Mae, who just turned One. She is the light of my life and I’m so thankful to be able to do this. •My husband is known for being a bit of a coffee snob—but I loathe coffee! In fact, I can’t drink any sort of hot drinks-even in winter. I have to have an iced tea every day to stay sane..ish. •I danced for most of my life, everything from hip hop to tap. I took ballet and pointe for 8 of those years. But ultimately fell in love with lyrical and continued until I started my career in the beauty industry.
Though I love(d) doing hair, dance will always hold a special place in my heart, and I CAN’T WAIT till we’re able to put Evie in her first class 😍. •I was on the drumline 6th grade through my senior year in high school. I played snare every year except my freshman year. My daddy is a drummer, so it was only natural I followed a bit in his footsteps. •I tag @juliarensink @jocelyn.maloney, but don’t feel obligated 😘 •

Scout’s been asking to ride his bike through the neighborhood. But he’s 2, so he’s not really riding his bike if you know what I mean. There’s pedaling and giving up and “Help!” and “No help!” and a grown mother bent like a pretzel over tiny handlebars to steer the whole ship without getting her toes run over. There’s the inevitable: “Up now?”, the carrying of the bike four streets over with an exhausted toddler at your hip.⠀

I’ve been using my "Soon!" answer to delay the whole thing, but you know, late August has a way of forcing you out the front door with a shiny red trike and a dream.⠀

So we went.⠀

I wouldn't say it was lovely, not with the pretzel bending and run-over toes, but the air was perfect and the sun was low and I have a feeling the memory might lodge itself somewhere in all of our minds. Bee’s flushed cheeks, biking ahead of us to the little library at the end of the street, exchanging board books for chapter ones, trying to balance them on her bike seat, dropping them over and over and over, the whole way home.⠀

Me scooping the books up, scooping the trike up, scooping the toddler up, altogether reminded of every parent’s capacity for carrying things heavier than they thought possible.⠀

(They say your heart grows twice its size when you have a kid, but wouldn’t a couple of extra arms be more convenient?)⠀

--⠀

My friends have a parenting mantra that has served their grown children ever-well, and it is simply this: Say yes as often as you possibly can.⠀

Yes to the bikes, the hot evening sun, the late August trek. Yes to the inconvenience and the sweat down your back, yes to the flushed cheeks and dropped books. Yes, I can help. Yes, I can carry you. Yes, we can go.⠀

Yes, right now.

This is Bruce Polin, and I've been invited to share some of my images with you this week. What you are seeing is work from my current project, "Deep Park," which consists of chance portraits of people, strangers really, who I encountered in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York.
This is image 15 of 21 for my Lensculture Instagram takeover.
Comments always appreciated.

This week, NYC photographer Bruce Polin (@brucepolin) shares work from his “Deep Park” series on our feed. "Deep Park" is an ongoing series of portraits taken in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. They are of people who he approached, or who approached him because they were curious about his project or the large-format 8x10 film camera he typically uses. The work evolved as an organic reaction to the polarization that has gripped this country since before the election.
Prospect Park is the optimal microcosm of New York's profound diversity. The park itself was created in 1867 and designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calbert B. Vaux, who considered it to be their masterpiece. For Polin’s project, it has become his “other studio” -- one over which he doesn’t have much control, an aspect that he says can be immensely exasperating or surprisingly liberating.
"Deep Park" is a 2018 Lensculture Series winner, and will be exhibited at Farmer Family Gallery at Ohio State University January 17 through March 7, 2019.

I was listening to a station on Pandora and there’s was at least 5 songs celebrating being a side bitch, or having a side bitch.
When I hear men celebrating having a side bitch, the first thing that comes to mind is that he’s a coward. He’s too scared to let them both know what time it is and try to build something.
Niggas claim to be the biggest thugs, but be scared to tell a woman that they allegedly love the truth. Scared that if she’s not ok with sharing him , that they’re relationship will no longer work.
When I hear women celebrating being a side bitch, I think what a pussy ass bitch. You scared you ain’t good enough to be a man’s main bitch? You scared and you’re envious of how the man that u creep with treats his wife. You rather try and fuck something up, than to try to build with someone new that is single. You’re scared when u become the main, there will be some insecure bitch like you out there fucking ur man.
This is in so much of our rap and hip hop music, it’s basically acceptable.
Thing that gets me is that when my #SistaWife and I come on here and try to tell ya to put ya insecurities and egos aside, we get made fun of and called crazy shit. Find a REAL KING to ride for, you will be happier.
Look around you . A lot of these SQUARE relationships are NOT really working. Look at divorce rates. We’re not knocking Monogamy, just don’t judge our lifestyle . Look at women celebrating and bragging about tearing up someone’s relationship, home and even family... Look at what the coward men are doing. Putting side bitches over the woman that’s probably a REAL RIDE OR DIE, for a piece of ass... Some of ya niggas act like fucking is a new invention... ya be soooooooo thirsty for pussy like ya not used to getting any... IF YA SO BOUT IT... TRY BUILDING AN EMPIRE WITH THE THE TWO BITCHES YOU FUCKIN... U MORE SCARED OF THEM BITCHES THAN THE FEDS...Lets see how bout it your little side bitch is. Especially when she gotta take care of the kids so you and your wife can go on vacation together... 😩😩😩 💭 THOUGHTS? Would love to hear from all the PROUD SIDE BITCHES! 👀

DAY 2 #prepnpress
I’m your lead host and today we’re working on #puppypress

My co-hosts and I are focusing on a few basic moves that not only multi-task to help prep and warm up key muscles but that also set you up in the right position for the most success. In other words, we are breaking it down, not dumbing it down.
When it comes to puppy pressing, the most important thing is the top leg, lifting it as high as you can. If you ever see a puppy lifting his leg to pee...sometimes he gets it so high he’ll end up somersaulting. I promise you won’t do a somersault but maybe keep this visual in mind as you lift the top leg. Of course hamstring flexibility and extension is important so for more leverage, come up onto your tippy toes. The other key idea here is compression (see previous posts), ie squeezing thigh to belly for core engagement and lift off. Try placing a ball at the hip crease to help encourage this squeezing action. The harder you squeeze, the easier it will be to float “up.” As you begin to FEEL the compression, lean forward and over wrists and PRESS hands into the mat—the ground force reaction will help your legs lift (if you are ready). 💪🏼💪🏼 So the two moves to work on for Puppy Press handstand are 1. squeezing the ball at the hip crease and 2., sugarcane pose to warm up up hamstrings. Sugarcane pose also simulates a very similar feel with that top leg working against the resistance of your grip. (Video 1 👆🏻) Video 2—showing modifications, using a bigger ball and a prop for lift. You can also try a strap for an easier warm up and to encourage better flexibility. I’m also showing a half-straddle prep, which is a nice variation of puppy press. Remember, its ALLin the TOP leg and glute!
Be sure to check in with @beahappyamy and @susanbishopyoga for forearm and headstand version of working this warm up into puppy press success!. 👌🏻

I found a great article from my friends at @barbend when doing [email protected] starch. Check out their site. Tons of great info.
-
1. Extremely Functional:
We can argue all day about whether the squat or the deadlift is the king of exercises, but look: no caveman squatted under load. He slayed deer, lifted ’em, and dragged them back to his cave. We tend to use “lift” to describe almost any exercise, but a deadlift is straight up lifting something heavy off of the ground. It’s the alpha and the omega of lifting. Barring injury and other medical reasons, no human body should be incapable of a deadlift.
-
2. Gigantically Strong Glutes:
The gluteus maximus is the biggest muscle in the body and of the three powerlifting movements, nothing targets the butt as hard as the deadlift. Strong glutes transfer to better endurance, power, and pain prevention— your heinie is the engine that drives your machine. Dormant butt syndrome is a real thing that causes back, hip, and knee pain to millions. Don’t be one of them!
-
3. Traps Like Bane (the Batman Villain): Deadlifts hit the posterior chain all the way up to the neck, and strong traps don’t just make you look like a badass, they make your shoulder and neck more resistant to injury. Hit ’em with deads!
-
4. A Flood of Anabolic, Fat-Burning Hormones: Deadlifts are the everything exercise, and when one exercise works that many muscles, from the thighs to the core to the neck to the grip, it triggers a cascade of beneficial hormones like testosterone and growth hormone. That doesn’t just mean stronger muscles and bones, it means less body fat and better mood, immunity, and sex drive. Speaking of which…
-
5. A More Powerful Hip Thrust
You know what that means. A cleaner triple extension, which will carry over to smoother snatches and cleans.

- Woman, 19, killed in crash by suspect fleeing from police -
A woman speeding away from Warren police caused a fatal crash killing a 19-year-old and injuring her little brother Sunday night. "I got off a plane this morning and had to go the medical examiner to identify my daughter's body," said Nathaniel Crawford. "And she's 19." Nathaniel Crawford shared his memories of his late beloved 19-year-old daughter Daziah Crawford. "My daughter was the most beautiful creature I have ever seen, that God ever created," Nathaniel said.

Daziah was on her way home from church Sunday evening in her silver Nissan with her 15-year-old brother, Dalyn inside. As the siblings neared Lappin and Fairport streets witnesses say they spotted a green Ford Taurus speeding straight toward them. "She had her foot on the gas since Eight Mile," said Rayshawn Steen. "You heard her before she got down here." Warren police tried to pull over the woman speeding near Eight Mile and Fairfield moments earlier, but the woman was going too fast through the neighborhood. "The officer backed off," said Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer. "But I would say she was going in excess of 50-60 miles per hour." The woman slammed into Daziah and Dalyn. Their mother got a phone call heading to the scene. "They weren't responsive, either one at the moment," said Natavia Crawford, the mother of the victims. "And the only thing that I could do, was to just drop to my knees and pray." Warren police say after smashing into their Nissan, the speeding driver got out of her car and ran. "I think she was high," said Steen. "Because she couldn't run." That driver who Warren police identified as 28-year-old Alyssa Verbeke has quite the rap sheet. fleeing and eluding police, weapons and drug charges, home invasion and prostitution.

Verbeke even once jumped from a second-story window to escape drug treatment. "We did find suspected crack cocaine in the car," Dwyer said.

Dalyn Crawford suffered a concussion and a bruised hip but is okay physically... -

Had an amazing night with family and friends for the screening of "Wicked Wednesday" the documentary.

Can't say enough about Andy @soothsaymedia and his vision of what Wicked Wednesday represents to the community. He captured the essence of our culture and the dedication it takes to make 20 years of weekly hip hop. I'm deeply appreciative of the gift you have bestowed upon us.

My favorite part of the documentary was when @miccrenshaw said (loosely) " Wicked wanted to see hip hop thriving in Portland so that's what he did. He didn't complain or give up. He wanted things to change and he did something about it." In this day and age it's can seen impossible for one person to make a difference.
@dj_wicked is an inspiration to anyone who thinks one person can't make a difference. Sure it might take 20 to finally get noticed but in wickeds words himself "when you're living life, going through the motions, life goes by quick." Lastly to the Wicked Wednesday Army. Over the last 20 years you have grown to an amazing thing to witness. The same fans who came out week after week are now talented artists who make WW the melting pot of creativity it is known for. Every single person who has contributed over the years can now claim ownership because WW is a community event. By the people for the people.

Here's to twenty more years!
Cheers

Guinness Record Broken ! Someone brought it to my attention today that I never posted the event on insta and you know due to the craziness of organising everything I realised he was right so here is what I posted on fb (cause I’m too lazy lol )Wow , holy crap, what a nerve racking and amazing journey this has been. Happy to announce I broke the record by over 3000 kg 👏🏼👏🏼. I struggled with nerves so badly over the last few days just so worried that I’d be the girl that everyone watched ‘almost’ pull a truck haha. We reached the fund raising target thanks to an amazing donation from Gold Coast Isuzu of $1000 which put us over the line. Such a generous donation being all the support they have already shown. What I’ve learnt about this whole Guinness World record thing is that it takes a hell of a lot of organising and official stuff which I was super lucky to have Bruce from @NorthGroupConsulting help me with along with @dougpollock from Isuzu and Greg who was my truck wizard 🧙‍♂️. Certainly couldn’t have done this crazy shit without Derek Boyer who’s knowledge of this exact thing and all challenges strength related was what we relied on the whole time. His dedication to my goal was unbelievable and quite honestly I’ve never seen a PT be so invested. The people that have stepped up and helped along the way has amazed me, everything from finding me a JP witness at last minute ( Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety Gold Coast) to finding me a DJ and Durran Olsen Photography stepping up to take some professional pics and let’s not forget the guys at the Wanna be a kickboxer raffling off their gloves for me. I was so humbled to have so many people turn up yesterday and friends I hadn’t seen in years turn up and show support Angela Jeffery Erin Merrin... 💗..and my amazing family that yet again was there to support me even though they had to travel many miles to get here Rosemary Payne Tashy Tash Nim Paea.. So now I’ll stop posting footage of me pulling trucks about car parks etc haha well for a while anyway haha but here’s the footage from yesterday and all I can say is ‘thank F*%k that worked’ lol #truckpull #truckpulltraining #guinessworldrecords #broken #strongwomen

Let's just say I never in a million years saw myself doing this long term. I rolled my eyes as I enrolled on April 10th, 2012. I really didn't believe I would be successful.
I was formerly a General Manager at Ron Jon Surf Shop and had been there for 8 years before my husband I decided to have children (back to back). My son was 3 months old and I had just returned back to work from leave before I took a trip to target and peed on a stick and found out we were pregnant- again! :) We had a miscarriage and getting pregnant the first time was hard for us, and so we thought, well... We want our kids close in age so let's just see what happens!

I decided to become a distributor!! I earned the Diamond $10,000 bonus during the summer of 2012, the day after I graduated from UCF holding my babies on each hip. We even had a wrap shortage for those months!! Can you believe having no wraps for your customers and to wrap potentials with?? But I did it. I felt amazing. I have earned $135,000 in bonuses. I plan to promote to Ambassador this year. My family doesn't struggle anymore. We go on Adventures often. The first thing I did when I got my first bonus was buy my husband his dream... A boat. He loved fishing. I wanted to thank him for helping me fulfill my dream as a stay at home mom by working so hard and so here was my chance to fulfill his. Today, we have fulfilled so many dreams, and we are dreaming bigger each year. He is a distributor but does not work this business ladies, so if yours doesn't- ITS OK!! He's got what he's passionate about as a fireman and I've got what I'm passionate about as a wrap girl. He essentially sold a s*** ton of music this weekend because you all went combing through it to hear a response to Pusha. A response that would have been bittersweet because he would have to expose stuff. “Pull back the curtain”, if you will that would’ve had Drake look more like a sucka than a victor in battle. So the response was no response. Just a MONSTER album sales victory because y’all might have made Push the “Champ” because of “...Adidon” but you didn’t back it up with buying Pusha’s music so his trophy is essentially “hollow” and back to obscurity is he goes. Plus Push allegedly has been ordered not to perform that song in concert so Drake again wins. Add this to now Drake is EVERYTHING Ye wishes he was. Mega Famous with both Blacks AND more important for Ye, Whites. Street worthy AND the Darling of “Madison Avenue”. I Love Ye. He tried to reinvent himself on the fly with this “Wyoming Teenage Emotions” Album at 40 but what drew people to him first was he was the bodacious Lion who spoke up and out and now he declawed himself to fit in. Meanwhile Drake comes in and makes a record to play during art gallery openings, house warming’s, and times when you’re sitting down in the back reading a book, full of emotions and angst and he is the biggest thing since sliced bread. Hip Hop culture took a HARD LEFT to this new “feelings” style where most haven’t been able to keep up. Luda was ahead of his time with his take on the genre, “Release Therapy” and it killed his career. It’s hard to adapt in Rap and most can’t because they’re not good writers. Only Cube, Jay and Nas have been able to survive culture shifts but that’s because they’re on the Mount Rushmore of hit WRITERS. Drake has everyone in his undertow and unless they swim parallel to him they will always be stuck in his current BEHIND him. Btw, these Bars here are so classy and such a smooth way put people in their place. After hearing it, I guess We will never get that “Calabasas” album now......

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A day that was supposed to be a highlight of her life, ended with a pregnant bride and her father both shot. Now, authorities are searching for the groom’s ex-wife as a suspect for involvement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to police, a 23-year-old woman posted to her Facebook about her upcoming marriage to the father of her unborn twins. However, the ex-wife of her soon-to-be husband saw the post and that is when things reportedly got violent. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Police say that the ex-wife showed up to the home of the bride’s 74-year-old father, Fredrick Waring, with two men.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to witnesses, the men pulled out weapons during an exchange, which prompted Waring to defend his daughter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I seen Mr. Fred come down with his daughter," one witness said. "He said nobody is gonna mess with his daughter and I don't blame him. No one messes with my daughter."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to NBC10, neighbors say that shots rang out and Waring jumped in front of his daughter, thus taking the majority of the bullets. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Waring was hit in the stomach, arm, butt, and knee and his pregnant daughter was hit in the thigh and hip. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Police are currently searching for the men involved in the shooting and also want the ex-wife for questioning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“If she doesn't, it's gonna make it harder on her," police said. "So she needs to come in and do the right thing and provide us with the information on what actually occurred here from start to finish."

15.6 PTS, 2.1 REB, 5.0 AST, 0.4 STL, 0.1 BLK

Shooting 38.3% FG, 32.7% 3PT, 92.1% FT

Contract: $6.3 Million (Unrestricted FA)
_

My take:

Isaiah Thomas averaged 29 PPG last season and was in MVP discussions with Boston. How does a man go from an All-Star, to cutting his point differential in half?

Injuries.
Isaiah Thomas relied on his speed, quickness, and explosiveness to get by defenders, break down the defense, and finish strong at the rim. He recently admitted that he even played through the hip injury in Boston because basketball helped numb his pain that he was going through off the court.
_
IT: “I was going through something way bigger than basketball, so basketball was the only thing that can numb that at that point in time. I wish there was a better decision made on both sides, but at the same time it is what it is”
_
Clearly, Isaiah Thomas was not physically or mentally ready this season, as his only weapons were taken away from him. So this season, he wasn’t much of a threat to penetrate the defense as he usually is, which led to him over-relying on bad quality pull-ups, instead of going to the rim, and settling for contested 3-PT shots. Isaiah Thomas has finally taken the decision to go under the knife, and is now recovering from hip surgery.
_

There’s no doubt that IT can get back to shape and return to Mr. 4th Quarter. He showed some flashes of his old self in some games where he straight up took over. But when his shots weren’t falling, and kept getting blown by, he was almost unwatchable. IT really looked like he wanted to prove others wrong this season, even though his body wasn’t ready. He looked like he wanted to play “hero-ball” rather than play into Luke’s system.
_
Next season, if the Lakers strike out on max free agents, I believe that we should re-sign him on a 1 year deal to show that IT’s still himself. Realistically, I believe that he may be stunting the young guns and his style of ISO ball doesn’t help us develop.
Isaiah Thomas, to me still has a bright future, but as of now, just not in LA.

Hopefully he stays, but that’s for the offseason.

Thoughts? 🤔

Re-sign, or Release into FA? 🏀🏆

Thanks for @bretcontreras1 for his daily booty inspirations and knowledgeable videos and captions. I always try to put together my own 🍑 circuits by using @bretcontreras1 valuable posts and put my booty to work! When I trained glutes before, I moved the weight from point A to B with no intention. Ever since talking with Bret and working with his programming, I have come to realize how important it is to find that “mind-muscle” connection when performing glute exercises! .
🍑 GLUTE FINISHER 🍑 try this on your next lower body fat, or even to finish off an upper day! Perform 3 rounds with minimal rest
1️⃣ Glute emphasis back extension (I need to work on my form here significantly — but one thing that has helped is flaring the feet out, and pressing my thighs into the mat as I come up, SQUEEZING glutes hard!!) — 20 reps
2️⃣ Side lying hip raise featuring @bretcontreras1 (cause he is the master at these!!) — 20 reps each side
3️⃣ Feet elevated frog pumps (personally I feel more glute activation with feet slightly elevated on an incline) — 30 reps
4️⃣ Straight leg feet elevated bridge (tuck chin, feet turned outward, pelvic posterior tilt, and slight bend in the knees) — 20 reps
5️⃣ Single leg hip thrust (I perform extra on my right side as I am working on an imbalance on my right side .. so I performed more reps, and held final rep for 10 seconds) — 25 each side
3 rounds after your workout or 5 rounds as a workout --------------------------------------------
I have noticed a significant difference in my overall glute development since working with @bretcontreras1 and incorporating his glute work! If your serious about growing your posterior chain, and overall strength in general, hit him up!!!!! You won’t be disappointed 🍑🙏🏼 #ThrustIsAMust #BretBuildsBootys

I’m not sure why the first day of school is always so emotional for me. ☺️ I remember being pregnant with Roman and Maverick walking into Kindergarten for the first time and tears just pouring down my face. I remember Stirlings first day, boldly waving to me as he walked with his backpack into his new school and Maverick was on my hip. Perhaps a new school year is the promise of new beginnings. New adventures. My boys growing up every day, every year. This mom business is no joke, but it is simply the best thing I have ever done. I am so grateful for markers in time like the first day of school, even though I’m always a mess. I am reminded how quickly time flies. 😭😭😭

My girl is always on a mission, usually to my arms if her two feet are on the ground. She is what some people would consider a “hard” baby. She doesn’t sleep through the night. Sleep experts who have tried to offer us help have told us she can’t cry longer than x amount of time without falling asleep from exhaustion. She has beaten all the odds. She sometimes naps. She only eats white colored foods. She knows what she wants always and will never settle for less. She is STRONG WILLED and discipline does not phase her. She is attached to my hip. And man nick and I are so in love with her. The Lord knew exactly what we needed when he brought her into our lives. Having a “harder” baby has made us rely on Him for strength daily. It has made us let go of small things in parenting. It has humbled us. And it has made us just look at each other and belly laugh so many times at 2 am. The world would not see these baby patterns as a blessing, but we do- believing Gods sovereignty in it all. The best part is, this is the least tired we have ever felt in our lives. Just a reminder that God is where our strength comes from. His mercies are new every morning. I wouldn’t change a thing about my girl. Thank you Lord for your grace in my life.

Prayers are private to me but I came across this today and just had to share. If we're Facebook friends, you know I have been very vocal about the struggle of finding a place to live. It has been three+ years of just pure nonsense and after the most recent nightmare of a townhouse I was honestly just so disheartened, I seriously started looking into just moving out of the country.
My mom has been preaching to my sister and I for a while about writing down your goals/dreams and praying over them. I felt a bit silly calling this a "goal" but it's a serious disruption to your peace and mind when you live in constant disarray. My mother said, "listen if it's important to you, it's important to God- even if it feels a bit silly. There is nothing too big or small to God". I wrote this list on December 28th after a particularly bad day with the landlord where it was either write this list or go to jail for burning that place down. I even threw in some things that were just nice to have but not necessary. It seemed far fetched but I did it, prayed and left it there.
Three weeks later a place that I loved and had admired for a while became available. We put a deposit down almost immediately and I started prepping my "kiss my hip notice to vacate" to the landlord (God still working on me, y'all). A week later the place fell through. I was crushed. It wasn't everything I wanted but I loved it anyway. For WEEKS I could not understand why and as more things fell apart at my current place, I was more and more discouraged and depressed. God said, wait.

Last weekend, I happened to catch a listing in the morning before work. I was the first person interested. Dario called the listing a whole hour later- somehow, he was the first to call. That day, 20 more people called and two actually showed up to see the place before we got there but the landlords said - you were first, so we WAITED for you. (Praise run - God said WAIT)! Every. Single. Thing. On. This. List. All of it, we found in this place. ALL. Even the luxuries.
Not YOUR TIME but HIS TIME. God does not work in desperation mode, he's works just in time. 🙏🏾❤️

So i had to get you clean and fly and post you so the world could see how handsome you really were (redeem you from his terrible post)😂 you had Tee’s big ole head but every bit of your face was all me from the eyes , to the lips, the skin tone , down to those frowns with attitude. But the cutest thing is that one little deep dimple when you smile and cut your eyes , i thank God and your dad everyday for that trait. You’re sooo special to me because you’re sooo freakin unique. You’ll rather listen to church music than my hip hop. You love electronics but you also love going outside exploring on your little adventures. If you’re clueless of anything you’re for sure going to ask what that’s for and why he/she did or said that. You have a temper like your daddy and spoiled attitude like mommy so they know who’s the boss but you’re also have the sweetest little soul at the same time. Regardless of what the world says it brings tears to my eyes , makes my heart sooo warm , and just gives me soooo much more motivation when you run up to me saying mommy i love you. And i try to be soooo tough in front of you guys but sometimes i just can’t stop those tears from falling and you hold my face and say mommy don’t cry and you’ll start crying too but you’ll look me in my eyes and say (with your little voice) mommy ima get who hurt your feelings mommy 😢. Tyson DeAndre you are my little soldier and you make me proud everyday. And i made it my business to make sure you enjoy this day and make you proud every day going foward. Happy 4th Birthday My Prince🤴🏻❤️✈️ #FlyTy ✈️🐯❤️🔐

Last Night I had the chance to attend one fo the dopest events @olddirtysundays… Im posting this because I am VERY disappointed in myself… one of my idols @Brolicarm asked anyone in the audience if they wanted to battle him after he told a story about #ROCRAIDA… I wanted  soooo bad to get on that stage, but I Nutted up… I drove 2.5 hours to get the event after I came from my gig on the other coast of Florida… I made every excuse in my mind.. I was tired.. My hands weren't warmed up… I was using a controller at my last event… I'm not on my computer… I thought he was using a 57 …THATS ROB SWIFT I cant battle him and @mrsinisterdj …  what if I mess up.. etc etc etc…I literally acted like a CHUMP…. No on in the audience really knew me or my skill level. I’ve been asking @djfader and @djcasper to let me get on this event for a while…but they too need to see my skills and peep my resume because they don’t know me in their market…  it was MY time to shine and I PUNKED OUT… The record they chose was ROCK THE BELLS… I can do that in my sleep… not like @cashmomeyofficial @jazzyjeff @brolicarm but I’ve imitated their sets enough… LOL… I could have smashed… But REALLY…  The guy that got up there did his thing..he was a lil tipsy LOL… but the best part, he WASN’T AFRAID!!! It bothered me so BAD I had to post this and hopefully another opportunity avails itself like that… I learned a very HUGE lesson!!! When one of your IDOLS allows you a stage take it! I’ve performed on some big stages so I need to be confident in my ability regardless of the circumstances and how I’m personally feeling… @brolicarm  and @mrsinisterdj were mad cool and showed themselves to be the humble yet confident LEGEND I perceived them to be… It was ll for the LOVE OF HIP HOP even if I messed up… But Truthfully after years of watching them on VHS DMC tapes ( YEAH I SAID VHS LOL I spent my lunch money on 12”s and DMC tapes before the internet) and finally getting to meet them was an honor! I just wish I would have taken the opportunity to show out so this is my apology video LOL… but its not the same in my studio

If there is anything I’ve truly come to understand & respect; it’s the fact that life is indeed a fleeting & fragile thing. One year go today Reggie Ossé aka Combat Jack; passed away following his battle with cancer. Combat was many things;
attorney, podcaster, journalist, writer & a dedicated Hip-Hop Historian. As an aspiring writer, journalist & avid Hip-Hop Head I can honestly say Combat had an immense impact on me over the past five or so years he was on the air podcasting. Honestly, a lot of my interview style & technique was heavily influenced from what I picked up listening to His shows. In fact, listening to him chop it up with the big leaguers is what actually eventually motivated to me to go out & start interviewing artists here from the local scene & create my own platform. I can honestly say I would not be the same writer & journalists if it weren't for the insight I picked up listening to his shows. He was truly one of my biggest influences & was one of the hardest working advocates that the art form could possibly ask for. Rest In Peace Combat, the Hip-Hop community still misses you!! In the words of Combat himself, “Dream those dreams then man-up & live them dreams, because a life without dreams is black and white, & the universe flows in technicolor & surround-sound”. Just found this throwback from 2015 when I’d literally just arrived to Atlanta after a 7 hour drive with most of my things still out in the moving truck. The entire trip, thoughts replayed of people telling me I was crazy to think I could be a respected voice on relationships. I was too young, vulgar, and of course single to be taken seriously. I wasn’t religious enough. I took my shirt off, even. No one would listen unless I talked sports, or hip hop, or maybe did skits... but encouraging people to love themselves before they loved anyone else behind this crazy concept of “self love.” Nah. I was tripping... .
.
Initially I thought the same thing. But I came to know that God doesn’t call on the qualified, He qualifies those He calls on. So I let Him do his thing while I did mine and here we are. 🤷🏾‍♂️☺️

Since 2016, the music artist has established a West Coast home in a Mediterranean-style residence with extensive views, which he rents for $16,000 per month. “It was a really good area. We had a look around and I didn’t really want to be too far away from where I work and where I go to the gym and my son’s school," Khalifa explains of his final selection of the home. "It was a good area for me to have privacy.” The six-bedroom house is, in many ways, dedicated to his 5-year-old son, Sebastian (whose mother is Wiz Khalifa’s ex, @amberrose). “The majority of the space in my house is for him, so the more areas where he can have to do his thing the better," Khalifa explains. To make the rental feel like home, Khalifa worked with interior designer Michelle Silva, who collaborated with Liz Tapper of @liztapperinteriors, and Tricia Morrison of Details by Others. "I think, overall, we were looking to achieve a design that we thought was indicative of who he was: a father, an entertainer, a free spirit, and a creative," says Silva. "He is so young, so we wanted to keep the design playful and super hip. We wanted to bring out the fun and interesting materials because of the connection with fashion. It had to be something that reflected his personality and his lifestyle with vibrant choices but also provides a lot of the comfort.” Take a look inside the home through the link in our profile. Anyone else have one of those? There were tears (mine) tantrums (also mine) & waaaaay too much chocolate consumed 🙋🏼‍♀️ ... Poppy seems to be cutting her 435th tooth and also decided she doesn’t do car trips anymore 🤷🏼‍♀️ The house looks like it’s been ransacked, I smashed my phone, ran out of petrol, missed deadlines, forgot nappies mid-change, dropped food over a clothes store... Today I hit panic mode when I looked in the pram and Poppy wasn’t there. I started calling for her for a good 30 seconds before I realised she was on my hip. Yep. On my hip. 😳 That’s taking Frazzle Rock to a whole new level right?! .
.So usually “Friday” doesn’t mean much, especially for #mumlife , but after 8 days solo parenting during my busiest work week to date, I’m most certainly celebrating hubby’s return... Doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to hand- pass the kids and bolt out the door (🧐💅🏼) but a 10 minute uninterrupted shower will legitimately feel like a spa day in my current state. .

To those who do it on their own, including my amazing sister (even though you hate it when I say it) you are the real heroes! I salute you 🍷 For real. It’s a tough gig. .
I guess the point of this post is to say it doesn’t necessarily take a traumatic event to fall off the rails, sometimes the daily grind can become all consuming and one “little” thing (or even just the monotony) can tip you over the edge. So just know that it happens to us all. It’s ok to have a Kimmy K ugly cry or sit in the pantry and polish of the chocolate. None of us have our shit together all the time. Tomorrow is a new day.
So yes, my tiny humans, mummy didn’t get on top of the washing/cooking/cleaning... she lost her shit a few too many times, but we did celebrate some wins- Archie hosted his first school assembly today & Poppy took her break-dancing skillz next level and with an impromptu performance in front of said school 😂... we also had some beautiful bedtime snuggles... but after sleeping like a contortionist between these 2, I’m looking forward to stretching out and only getting woken 3 instead of 333 times a night 🙏🏼😴 So yes today it’s #TGIF #notsomumsy

a 5some for ya nastieees. enjoy ;-)
~
I placed my pen onto the clip board and sighed. I was working with the boys from 5sos, I was there make-up and hair person and they wanted to dress up as Kiss today. So not only did I have to do their make up, I had to make them look half decent with Black and white face paint. Not that it was a hard thing because lets be honest they could wear any make-up and they’d all look hot still.
They’d done the interview and show and managed to somehow get to there dressing room without consulting me. I had a lot of things to do and them not checking in with me was pretty hard because I have to get them ready for the award show tonight. I walked into the dressing room where the boys are and looked down at my clip board.
“Ok so for the award show Michael you’re going to have a slight hint of eyeliner on as it makes you look hot and-”
I looked up and gasped. “S-shit I’m so s-sorry” The boys were changing into their clothes and i’d never really seen them in just there underwear, even though they’re know for walking around naked, I had never been blessed enough. I held my hands over my eyes and turned around.
“Never seen a boy in a pair of underwear before?” Michael snickered
“No no I have but I was dating him and stuff”
“Stuff?” Ashton asked.
“Y-yeah, please put your clothes on”
“What do you mean by ‘Stuff’?” “I think you know, clothes on please”
“But Y/N, we want to know stuff” Calum spoke, I felt someones hand grip my waist and I removed my hands from my face and turned around. It was Luke and his piercing blue eyes were travelling over my body. He stroked up and down my sides and his hand went under my shirt rubbing circles into my hip.
“W-what are you doing” I stuttered
“You’re supposed to help us right?”
“Y-yeah”
“Well pretty lady, we’re all so horny and we want you to help”
“Thats unprofessional, I can’t” “Please Y/N” Michael whined, I looked over to him and he had a pout on his lips, I looked into his eyes and I saw them twinkle.
Luke kissed down my neck and Michael and I were in a trance as he walked up to us.

A few weeks back I had the honor of meeting and hearing @mastakillamusic of probably the most legendary hip hop group ever @wutangclan deliver a key-note speech to a small group of Siena College students. To me it was a beautiful thing to see these kids who's lives are drastically different than his or my own, yet they were still able to embrace the music and the message just the same as I did in the late 90s when I was still living in the slums and had a local street artist paint the W huge on my bedroom wall or back in the early 90s when he helped create the movement from his neighborhood in Brooklyn. It's amazing to see how far Hip-hop hop has come and the impact it has had. For me hip hop is my way of life. Yes I was influenced by the things in the music videos as things I aspired to aquire but more importantly the music was influenced, representative to the life I was living. The style, the slang, the shake, the step all hip hop. So for me this was just a super dope moment.

We just moved into our new house - you handled moving day like a champ. You’re getting more and more fun every day. You’re eating a ton. Sleeping a ton. I assume you’re growing growing. You weigh 14 lbs and a few ounces. You hold your head up perfectly and I can now carry you on my hip as you look around at everything. You’ve started reaching for things; just the other day you intently watched me drink from my cup, then you reached out to “grab” it and bring it toward your mouth. You also watched me pet Tucker then reached your hand to touch his fur. I was impressed. You’re taking in eeeeverything. You have laser sharp focus and inherited your mom’s super serious thinking face. You have your dad’s huge open mouth silent laugh and do it when we play airplane - your new favorite game. You fuss to let us know you’re tired and then smile as soon as we set you in your crib to sleep... then close your eyes and drift off. Your papa said he’s never seen a baby happily go to sleep like that. Speaking of - you transitioned to your crib this month and that was ain’t no thing. Everyone says how social you seem - and that they can tell you have a great personality shining through. You loooove being held still and sometimes cry when I put you down only to laugh when I pick you back up. I’ll hold you forever if I could my snuggly, squishy cheek Henry. Your nicknames this month are little squish, little loaf of bread, and little bubble or bubby. #babyschmieder #fourmonthsold #henryintwelvemonths

• "This is going to seem random but I had a conversation last night with my business partner about Bruce Springsteen! He’s actually one of my favorite artist!! Three of the things that I’m particularly inspired by are his evolution as an artist over the past 30 years, the depth of his content (His storytelling is crazy), and his stage presence. At 68 years of age, this man is still amazing live! The other thing I admire is the commitment of his fans. THEY GREW WITH HIM!!! In lieu of that, I told my partner that, the fact that many of my fans/supporters are growing with me is one of my greatest joys, yet still one of my greatest desires. However, there’s an interesting dynamic with CHH! Because, Pastors have always pushed our genre to YOUTH culture, the transition to young adulthood has been interesting. I often hear 33 and 35 year olds talk about CHH as the thing they were into when they were in youth group, but not so much anymore. Yet, those same people still go to the Jay Z, Kendrick, Jay Cole show and stream the music. 🤔🤔🤔 So, it seems to me that the issue is not that they’ve outgrown hip hop but that they’ve outgrown CHH. But why??? I wonder who’s to blame for this. Maybe it’s not just the Pastors that have pigeon holed it, maybe it’s the artist that are recycling the same sound of trendy hip hop to pander to youth culture (OH THE PRESSURE). GRANTED, I love trendy “mumble rap” and lyrical hip hop the same but my question is why is it so challenging for “grown ups” to stay on board? Why still love Jay at age 35 but not Truth at age 37? Why is it easier to grow with mainstream artists than it is Christian? Is it the sound, content...??? Hmmm!
Talk to me!!!" @datruthonduty

I posted this photo yesterday but I had to share the story behind it. We met our freshmen year at Texas State. We were instantly attached at the hip. We were roommates for two years and boy did we have a lot of ups and downs. We went from figuring out how to be adults together to living in different cities and eventually states. The time a part was very hard for both of us. But as Catholics and both holding a special place in our hearts for our faith, one of the biggest things we were taught is forgiveness. Yesterday was the first time we’ve seen each other in a couple years and it was like no time had past. What wasn’t photographed was the fact that when we met at my event I was in full on tears from severe back pain. I grabbed his arm and the first thing he said was “it will be alright. Hi Little!” No matter what we’ve been through I will always cherish the laughs and annoyances we share when we are in the same room. We used to lay on our couch dreaming of the future. We always said @roman_aspire would be living in a big city and I’d fly there to speak and we would have dinner together before I left. Yesterday we made that far off dream a reality. ❤️

5. Boo 2: Tyler Perry's a man of simple tastes, and it isn't very difficult to figure out his "formula" on how to pass something like this off as a film:
1. Get paid to stroke you're own ego and the ego of dads in general, with jokes like, "he's so good looking, that's your dad?" 2. Make an early 2000s meme-ish joke, which is supposed to resonate with millennials, something like, "Don't tell me to stop smoking weed, fellow millennial (of the same age), I'll smoke until I die. Pass me that vape, bruh! 420!". The older they are, the funnier it is. 3. Back to how goofy and embarrassing dads are, "Hey, daughter! Bring your friends to show them how hip my dance moves are. I can pop... lock it... and... woah, woah, woah... drop it!" 4. Most importantly, once a joke starts, it must never stop, for example, "Uh-Joke, joke, funny", which a character can interrupt, but the attempt will ultimately fail, following up with, "No... But joke, joke, funny...", and this will go on for several minutes, especially if it's extremely agonizing. Fucking kill me. I guess the best thing about this movie is, it looks like even Tyler Perry is kinda bored with the Madea character, seeing this is the less she's been focused on in these films, mostly staying in the background, while the supporting characters get more dialogue... You know, even if the supporting characters are very one note. You've got goofy dad, stoner grandpa, horny aunt... Goddamn it, this depresses me.

.
though I wouldn’t say I made glutes my top priority until after my last show of 2017 (November), I have been training them religiously since my off season began. ☝🏼
.
not many people know this, but I have severe hip dysplasia. about three percent of people are born this way, and lucky for me, it wasn’t identified until my early twenties. well, what exactly is hip dysplasia? it’s when the head of my femur is egg shaped, while the acetabulum (hip socket) is round. over time, from exercise and life’s basic movement patterns, this can cause serious degenerative issues, such as torn labrums, severe arthritis from the bone spurs incurred, as well as chronic pain.👇🏼
.
before I had surgery in 2012 (right hip) and 2013 (left hip), my labrums were hanging on by a literal thread. if this issue had been identified earlier on, I’d probably be kicking it with Forrest Gump and his gangster leg braces. however, that did not happen, and here I am after taking complete control of my recovery and corrective exercises. 🙌🏼
.
so to those of you who ask, no, I never squat. no, I hardly do spinal compression exercises for my lower body, and no, I don’t make excuses as to why my journey may be more difficult than someone else’s. I just get the work done. though this is NO WHERE near my final glute progress, it’s a damn good start. oh, and I’m completely self-coached. so, everything seen on this physique has everything to do with me and the mastermind @thenickgiacara. 💪🏼
.
I refuse to be told “no,” I refuse to try and fit a mold, and I refuse to let anyone on my team think they can’t do something. it all boils down to ONE thing...HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT? 👊🏼

I really wish P was here to see the love that he gets n has been steady getting shown since his tragic passing. That saying about how such n such rapper is your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper gets thrown around mad loosely.. Like sorry fammo but I doubt Quavo is secretly my favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. The same way shit like “classic”, “legendary”, “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”, “GOAT”, “AOTY”, “model”, “producer”, “culture”, “talent”, “underrated” n all types of other shit gets used mad flagrantly these days.. the term “favorite rapper’s favorite rapper” has been used to describe some real cornballs. I dont wanna use this post to shit on nobody but if Logic or whoever came to mind just now that aint my fault b.. Anyways one man who I think that that phrase would apply to is the late great Sean P aka Ruck aka Kimbo Price aka Gray Hulk aka Decepticon Sean aka The Brokest Rapper You Know.. Which brings me to my point. How many people really showed love.. paid for his albums...copped his merch...praised his work...included him on year end lists n GOAT convos BEFORE he went back to the essence? I remember I had reviewed the Mic Tyson album n showed it mad love n the god thanked me personally for it. He told me he was “worried” before he read it.. which always bugged me out. Son also told me all rappers pretend to not care but they really do care what the reviews say. These days its hard to find anybody who would dare say a bad thing about him... #SeanP has come to be considered a true legend n all time great.. exactly what he shoulda been considered in life. The hip hop media outlets wasnt shining no big ass spotlight on P while he was here. They aint help him put food on his table or get the recognition he deserved LIKE THAT.. It was always the real fans who gave him the utmost respect. Yall dickriders do ya thing..but you only foolin other dickriders.
Anyways that @illaghee2k x #SeanPrice Metal Detectors EP is out RIGHT NOW n the whole thing is exactly the type of 🦍 shit you would expect it to be. Go peep it. Peace to the god’s kids x @bernadettealwayshumble @rimdavillin 🅿️❗️

Boost is the man.
Last month he had 3 cysts removed and tested, along with 2 teeth removed. one being his largest, upper K9 because it was broken in half exposing a very sensitive and painful nerve. Tests show no cancer🙌🏼, and we are 3 weeks post-op, he is happier and more energetic than ever😊!
.
.
Boost had a terrible first about 4-5 years of his life. He was 25-30 lbs lighter than he is now. He was very malnourished, and has a shattered hip which healed itself incorrectly causing it to grind in his hip socket when he walks. He also has BB pellets throughout his legs.
He’s now 75lbs and the most happy and loving dog ever. And the most important thing in the world to me. This year is 4 years with my best friend. Love you baby boy❤️ .
.
First and last pictures are recent.
The x-ray shows the BB’s and the broken hip.
The 3 other pictures are before I got him.
Then me hugging him is 1 min after I picked him up.
Us in the park is a few months together ❤️

Top 15 Hip Hop Albums of 2008: #1 Black Milk "Tronic"

Oh Wee!!! Now this is an album that lives up to expectations. Black Milk for president! Just last year he was "the new Detroit producer" to most but with "Popular Demand" being one of the highlights of 2007. BM made a name for himself and he's been constantly dropping projects non-stop since, from Caltroit to producing whole albums for Fat Ray and Elzhi. He's often criticized for being a Dilla clone but he's just building off his sound like about half of the producers in the hip hop industry. Anyway being Dilla influenced is a good thing in my book, because these producers are more eager to innovate than just trying to recreate some '94 DJ Premier style beats. The main difference in production style between Tronic and Popular Demand is that he's messing more with synths this time around, kinda like Dilla was doing on some of the tracks on "Welcome to Detroit". The production on the album is absolutely ridiculous, the beats are very hard and full of details, the whole album is just bangin' to the fullest. Black Milk caught a lot of flack for his rapping on the previous album, but I thought he was dope and was definitely feeling his style. Producer rappers always get over-criticized when it comes to their rapping, they'll never catch a break with the usual "stick to making beats". However, Black Milk really stepped up his rapping for this album, he's really mastering his flow now and he just spits some ill shit. He ain't about no complex storytelling or anything overly conscious, it's just some raw lines one after the other. I wasn't expecting Black Milk to drop one of my favorite LYRICAL performances of the year, but the cat just has many surprises in his bag. This album is thoroughly excellent, definitely one of my favorites of 2008 and one that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any hip hop fan. Make sure to play it loud so it can destroy your eardrums. Still fav photo of me and Duke taken by @lisagrimnes ❤️ It is allready two years since we took it and Duke had just learned to rear on que. I think Duke really had to work on himself to believe this was ok for him to do. He was such a gentleman and in his mind this kind of behaviour was «wrong». He got so confused when getting a goodie everytime. But I really feel like we grew alot with it, it opened doors that had been close before for sure. And every now and then one are allowed to be a little bad 😏😈 I miss him so dearly, today Rhaego and me are going on the clinic that was wrecked for me and Duke only one year ago due to his hip. It is a kind of bettersweet feeling, going to this with Rhaego. I am happy, don’t get me wrong, but... it was suppose to be Duke and me in this clinic. I miss how secure I always felt with him. How he took care of me. Rhaego is still my «little baby» and I am the one trying to take care of him - with various outcome 😅😂 But I try! Well, the good thing is that there is no pressure now. We are just gonna do groundwork and we know this like the back of our hand. We will hopefully get some new tools aswell and learn alot + meet all the great people who comes with these clinics 😍❤️ Duke... I think of you every day and I miss you more then you could ever imagine. «Let beauty come out of ashes» ❤️🔥 PC: @lisagrimnes

Transitioning can be a weird thing; especially when there are no outward signs that it’s happening.
No storm to wade through
No ripple in your waters
No visible change in the weather.
Everything still looks and feels the same. Except that you know it’s not.
Everything you feel or sense is difficult to describe or explain to anyone else.
Because how do you say: “I sense a turn” without sounding like a nutter?
How do you say: “there’s a shift happening,” without sounding like legion and all his crew are living inside you?😬😬
.
.
Sigh.
.
.

There’s also no fear, no dread, no panic, just a smidgen of anxiety as you try to give a name to this nebulous thing. It’s a little frustrating tbh, because why can’t I just eat jollof rice and watch Love & Hip Hop in peace, without doodling in my journal and bible, circling and highlighting words I don’t yet understand? I’ll keep chewing through it sha. What’s that annoying clichê? “The only way to get through it, is to go through it.” Yen yen yen 😁🙄🙄 #transitioning

This was my IT. The chance I almost didn’t take. The risk that seemed too big of a budge. The potential fall my emotional hip couldn’t bear.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I think of the decision process we go through each time a potential change gently approaches us, I cringe a little.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not because the change is scary, but because of the even scarier thought that, we dismiss gifts for simply being unknown or unfamiliar.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is my family. A second marriage ( let’s just face it, the stats are not in my favor) and a baby girl born to his previous relationship (whom I thought would feel I was intruding in her life.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m beginning to see things in hindsight, but I’m not waiting til understanding kicks in before I take the next step.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Faith has shown me that there can be a marriage more beautiful than a wedding and it’s also shown me that a little human can be more intuitive + wise than I ever gave her credit for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you Jesus for these gifts, for faith and for YOU! When my sight fails, you never do. 🙏🏾

What’s one thing you’re not gonna let fear keep stealing from you?

About life, love relationships, kids and specifically this accolade #TheGreatestOfAllTime!! For those that don’t know B.Cox was very instrumental in my career shift to @sesac 5 years ago & I thank you for that broski!!! The one thing that EVERYONE knows about B is that he’s selfless, one of the good guys! If he has a quarter, he’ll give you 13 cents... So, when I saw this post, it was evident that I repost it!! If you look in my earlier posts, you’ll see that @Billboard named his song, @therealmaryjblige “Be Without You” as “The Greatest R&B/ Hip-Hop Song Of All Time” Bryan has never been the one to talk about his accolades, but this post says it all!!! #TheMuhammadAliOfRAndB You are the greatest of all time, sir!!! #WhenHeSpeaksWeListen- What we’re not gonna do is downplay this “GREATEST OF ALL TIME R&B SONG” shit, that’s what we’re not gonna do... we are going to CELEBRATE.

i’ve downplayed the 9 grammys.
i’ve downplayed the 8 @sesac songwriter of the year awards.
i’ve downplayed the record i broke for being on the charts for the most consecutive weeks, a record previously held by the beatles.
i’ve downplayed being inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
i’ve downplayed all of the number ones we’ve done.

in essence, we’ve downplayed us being some of the most successful creatives in contemporary r&b history.

not downplaying anything, anymore.
we’re celebrating everything, dammit.
EVERYTHING.

I SAY THIS WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT AND LOVE. GOD BLESS.

Hip Hop raised me.
It is a strange sentence.
Like...when you think about it who it really did...your parents?...your neighborhood?...school?...the country you grew up?...yourself?
I'm listening to Hip Hop now for many years.
And though I have never been a confident kid. However it is really hard to confess, not only to other ppl but espacially to myself.
So I remember this voice that barely shut down its volume: "Do other people like that what you just said, thought, wanted to do?" You see I wore the clothes others complimented, cut my hair in styles others labeled "in", acted the way I knew others would like me for. There was just the swimming on the river of the opinions of the ppl that surrounded me instead of listening to the storm that was raging from inside.
I remember the repression in my childhood, the relocation to my father, the dissing in school and shut down all of that emotions bothering me. 'Cause others taught me that it is strong to keep them as a treasure, never spoken, never shown. Not actually by saying it with formulated words but more by how they reacted to certain situations under my observing eyes and my tender-hearted ears.
The only thing that never have been telling me what to say or how to feel was Hip Hop. I never took the bullshit seriously as words like "I never ended High School" or "fuck this or fuck that or fuck her". But there was this vibe behind this terms which whispered that you are able to be whoever you want to be. That it is possible to achieve everything you want. And that it is OK to be you. Yourself. That little kid mirroring the moves of his favorite rapper.
Also I remember an intense time of bullying I was facing in school and my environment. So I wanted to translate all the rap songs to extract the insults in them so I could be able to fire-throwing them on the ppl that hurt me. But I didn't. And it took me an eternity to find out why. Because Hip Hop is not for fighting idiots that are trying to destroy you. Hip Hop is for empowering you to let free the storm raging from inside. So in fact I confess:
Hip Hop raised me.

Wearing his flannel looking like a hip hop dancer when really I just spent the entire morning learning how to get out of being choked slammed. 😳😈 I have always loved the duality that we can curate and craft in our lives. To be soft but also firm. To be kind but hold strong boundaries. To fall in love with another but to remember to put yourself first always. I used to think I had to be all of one thing. Or else I didn’t ‘belong’ anywhere. I wanted so badly to connect and I found my wide array of passions and interests seemed to put off others who wanted to belong to a group. Now I am obsessed with the fact that I train Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, Boxing, and lift weights while teaching all kinds of yoga classes from intensely athletic to restorative yin as well as sweet meditations where my voice needs to sound like honey. It makes me hard to keep up with because I can literally head in many different directions but I now love that about myself. We have gotten so good at putting ourselves down to sound ‘humble’ but that is not the point; to be the first in the ring against yourself. So let me hear it. Even more so let YOURSELF hear it. What’s one thing you are proud of or love that you previously hid from? Throw down some love for yourself and speak it out loud after you write it. 😍😘🔥 Rocking an @aloyoga hat black on black baby!!!

We wanted to go back ... I'll never forget what this missing piece meant to me.

It meant I failed.

And I remember walking off the mountain in the dark, looking out at an eerily quite festival area as I hung my head & got in my car.

That night, @tattooed_viking & I vowed for redemption in 2018. We wanted to go back out there & finish what we started. But the difference was he had already finished an HH12HR that season. His pie was complete. Mine was missing a piece, & 2018 just wasn't going to cut it for me.

So I ended up quietly signing up for the final HH12HR of the 2017 season.

I wasn't going to end the year knowing I had one more opportunity to finish my goal & not take it.

I had wanted to keep it quiet until after I finished, because the DNF blues had hit me hard & I didn't want to publicly fail again.

But then my friend, & coach, @fresh_fit_fly told me to reveal that I signed up. Because my account was always one where I kept it authentic, where I let everybody know my journey, & my failures, to help them move forward themselves.

So I let you all know I would try again, & I jumped on a plane by myself to head to Los Angeles for a second shot at the HH12HR... & my final attempt to finish the 2017 Endurance Trifecta. And I finished it.

And looking back some 8 months later I can finally see just how much the 2017 season changed me.

And how much that first fail transformed me.

And made me better.

And made me more focused and more determined to commit to my goals with everything I have.

Because the fact is, whether I wanted to blame it on a bum hip that cold night in New Jersey, or I wanted to say that doing my first Ultra mere 5 days before the HH12HR affected me, the facts remain the same: Someone else completed it under those same, or possibly worse, conditions.

I failed because I failed to prepare correctly.

And the best thing I've learned from that entire experience is something we all need to understand more of: Accountability.

If you can tell yourself that you did everything right to achieve your goal, than kudos - but if you can reflect & understand exactly where you dropped the ball & learn how to do better next time, that's when the real transformation begins.

I am either getting old, or I’ve been in the world but not of it for sometime that I have not kept up on the current slang of the day. Recently I have seen up and down my timeline the term GOAT floating around as the next “cool thing,” but I tell you, the devil is still up to his old tricks, he has nothing new up his sleeve. The fall of pride is his food of choice and bringing others down with him is his great pleasure. We as Christians must be wise in this day and pray for discernment, not follow the crowd to destruction. A Goat is never cool, or hip, or the greatest, a goat is a goat and a sheep follows their shepherd. (Matthew 25:31-46) “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.”

Today is one of those days that I thank God and the universe for holistic medicine. Woody is 18 months old, and until today, could not walk. (Today was one of the best days of my life, seriously) Woody’s feet turn in slightly and he cannot flatten them onto the ground. When he first started pulling up, and he was on his toes, I wasn’t too concerned. I thought he’d outgrow it, or start out as a toe-walker. Months and months went by, and he couldn’t flatten his feet or walk, and he resorted to knee-walking because he was sick of crawling. We became concerned, and he was referred to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. We were told he may have a tethered spine, may need an MRI, and eventually, neurosurgery. I’m an optimistic person, but this sent me into a anxiety-ridden mom-guilt spiral for weeks, but it also motivated me - I did not want my baby cut open. We threw the kitchen sink at it; physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, Craniosacral massage, and Rolfing, all of them, every week. Thank God, his Achilles loosened slightly, and all of the scary stuff was ruled out. We kept up with all the therapies to improve his chances at walking and/or flattening his feet. (The next option is to eventually undergo surgery to snip both Achilles and to wear foot-to-hip casts for 3 weeks. We will do it if we have to, but we prefer to try the less invasive options for as long as we can.) He still cannot flatten his feet most of the time, but every week we see an improvement, and I know he will get there. And, today, he walked! It was magic, and he was so happy. My takeaways are 1. This is a first world problem, I know. All I can think of when I’m shuffling him to all his appointments is that we are so fortunate that our family’s health is so good, and that we have the resources to pay for all of these therapies out of pocket. To the mamas who are dealing with much worse, you are warriors, and I can’t begin to imagine your strength; I pray for you daily. 2. Thank God for alternative therapies! There are always options; I’m so glad I asked around and did a little research. I’m sharing this in hopes that it helps someone else who’s going through the same thing. Sending love. ❤️

Happy Birthday to the legendary @mrchuckd_pe To paraphrase his song Mistachuck from 1996 “Fifty-eight years in the name of hip-hop, Never stopped, seven continents, attackin' governments” - well done!

30 years ago Public Enemy released It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, an album that set the standard of hip hop and it still sounds as powerful today as it did back in the day. Hearing that opening siren still makes my adrenaline rush! My personal introduction to Public Enemy was their 1991 album “Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black”. I had seen their collaboration with Anthrax, “Bring The Noize”, on MTV Headbangers Ball and was completely blown away! I saved up my money and bought myself the CD, as you did back then. The opening line “the future holds nothing else but confrontation” still sends shivers down my spine because that future is now! And back in the early 90ies, bands like Public Enemy and Body Count made many punks and metal heads, me included, open our eyes and ears to hip hop. They were pioneers bridging the gap and back then subcultures were way more segregated than today, at least in Europe. They proved to a lot of people, teenage me included, that good music is good music and that being narrowed minded was not an option! And I still rate their 1999 concert at Fryshuset, Stockholm that I attended with my brother @dennislyxzen as one of the best shows I’ve ever seen!

And honestly - Prophets Of Rage’s self titled debut album is one of my top 3 albums of 2017! It’s very few artists who can reinvent themselves like Chuck D has done, now fronting a rock group! The opening track Radical Eyes is my favorite of this album, but yeah the whole thing is just amazing! I really hope I can catch them live soon!

Happy Birthday Chuck D!

.
It is said that before we incarnate, our souls choose the major lessons that we want to experience.
.
The most beautiful thing to me about this concept has always been the idea that we also choose the principle characters who will rock and roll with us; therefore no meaningful encounter is accidental, no one with whom we share a piercing experience happens without design.
.
One such character in my life, pictured here by my side, is @swisschris777.  When I think back on how hyped, ballsy and clueless I was when landing in NYC to pursue my dreams, it literally cracks me up.  I can’t imagine nowadays the freedom with which I let myself move in so effortlessly.
.
I simply linked w/ a dope ass drummer, sought after even then (long before John Legend, etc days) for a meeting to explore collaborating. Audaciously I came to the meeting with nothing but a 4-track demo, in which most of the tunes had been composed by me using my voice for everything! LMAO!  Even more hilar was the fact that I didn’t own my own drum machine back then, so I’d literally have to loop break beats manually, stopping and starting my 4-track.
.
THAT was Chris’s first introduction to me musically.  I will never forget how stunned and in awe I was that this Berkley, uber talented musician heard something; saw something in me and was willing to dedicate his brilliance to my humble beginnings.
.
But that is exactly what he did, and for years.  Chris put my first band together; acted as my MD; coproduced with me all the while keeping cooked up dope beats - that lay the foundation for what became my early sound - “acid hip-hop”.
.
As proud as I am for all that we accomplished together, I am most grateful for the mutual admiration and relationship we’ve maintained for over two decades.  We’ve essentially witnessed one another “grow up”, and through things; and ultimately find ourselves still, here!
.
When I called him many years later after we were no longer a band, he instantly agreed to play on my 3rd and latest album - and be in the video.
.
I don’t doubt for one second that our souls had in fact long before done the choosing; - ⬇️ ⬇️ -

The intentions of the video was to raise the general awareness of domestic violence and nothing more . The story in the video was no way a depiction of my story or my father in any way , but the basic cycle of abuse. This was meant to be an empowering video for people who has been through this and a voice for kids and the people who has suffered and on that note it’s been very helpful to thousands of people who has been touched by it. Even the people hitting me personally thanking me for speaking up and giving them the courage to face their own past and grow from it. Unfortunately the media spun it and has been targeting and demonizing my pops off of it. Their misinterpretation of the entire premise is drastic and I️ hate to see my father who was a great man who did many great things, not only for hip hop but for his community and loved ones , be marginalized into a bad person because people wanna focus on one thing. I️ as his son have long forgiven any and all things from my childhood and see him as a great man. My family also. And if we can see that then others should as well. He was abused as a child and went through so much as well as had many demons which he struggled with in his life that he needed help for. It’s hard to not idolize someone so great but he was a human at the end of the day and did his best to overcome his tribulations. If you isolate one section of anyone, you can Paint a picture of a villain but viewing the man as a whole , he has his flaws as well as his incredible nature and I’m nothing but proud of him and love him dearly. It’s important to break the cycle and to not be ignorant about all parties involved and reach to a solution opposed to playing the blame game . I️ want this video to empower and bring awareness. To bring voice to the silenced and bring courage to the oppressed. I️ love each of you. I️ just want you to love yourselves. #DragonGod #DragonsUp #IFeelAwesome #YouShouldToo #SpicJames #SexSymbol #AlmostCool #LoveIsLove #fakenews #domesticviolence #bigpun #happybirthdaybigpun #dtaledfilms #domesticviolence #domesticviolenceawareness #delorean

One of my favorite jazz LPs from this year. It’s been a great year for jazz. This is a compilation of four improvised sessions from LA. NY. CHI. LNDN.
It’s somewhat varied in tone which is nice to hear. I really enjoyed his other one from this year as well, Where we come from.
What I love about him is how you can hear his love for other styles of music but it’s not quite fusion (mix of genres). I abhor the jazz/hip hop thing overall unless it’s done well (love BBNG). I also can hear how a lot of people see jazz as a revival thing. McCraven is working with a slew of great musicians, a lot who are established as solo players. I think he is one of the most important voices for jazz at this time and happy to support his career.

Public Enemy Bring The Noise: possibly the greatest rap song of all time. This 1987 banger was produced by the Bomb Squad. Up to this point rap music production had never taken this layered sampledelic chaotic approach. This track combined multiple samples including Its My Thing, Funky Drummer, The Assembly Line by the Commodores l, Get Off Your Ass and Jam by Funkadelic, UFO by ESG and vocal snippets of Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan. The vocal approach was unique , ferocious and aggressive. Chuck called out music critics, Mr. Magic who had shit in the PE, and others. He shouted out Yoko Ono, Anthrax, LL and Eric B and Rakim created a pop culture collage that rivaled the musical jigsaw puzzle created by Hank Shocklee, KG, Eric Sadler and himself aka The Bomb Squad. The album this is from It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back turned 30 yesterday and is a milestone for hip hop critically, musically and lyrically. No one had heard a rap band sound this much like a rock band prior. The dissonance and musical dysfunction was un-comfortably funky, hard as nails and spectacular. This song was might also be the ultimate rap song for my generation of skateboarders connecting the two sub cultures like no other record prior. This was originally from the movie Less Than Zero but was included as the first song on It Takes A Nation. This song blew my mind when I was a young man just getting his foot in the door. It would be the template for future PE sogs and was just a complete game changer. Cant say enought about PE and @mrchuckd_pe he is one of my musical hero’s and I am proud to call him a friend. I had the demos of the first album before it came out and can proudly say I was amongst the first 100 PE fans in the world. The effect this had on white American kids can never be underestimate PE politicized kids and turned a gang of white people on to rap music and this is a FACT. Love me some PE happy 30th! #PublicEnemy #BringTheNoise #LatinQuarters #hiphopyadontstop
