Hormones/stress/spicy food/water/needing a big poo can have massive impact on how much we weigh. The amount of times I have to tell this to my clients, the amount of times I have had to speak to people who have binged because they were so distraught their weight has gone up or stayed the same. .

However, let me be clear, the shredded look is NOT where my body stays and quite honestly not the healthiest as far as metabolic rate is concerned. My food was way low at these points. One thing I gotta stress is the importance of a legit reverse diet to help maintain a healthy metabolic rate and endocrine system. They work hand in hand and they LOVE FOOD! Few big changes came this week, changing companies with work and I made the decision to step down from my sponsorship with BPI Sports. Such a fab brand but my goals have changed massively since last year, I have changed massively since last year and I just don't feel staying on board is in line with my current plans. I'm an all or nothing kinda gal, a sponsor should never receive half focus or dedication🙅👌 Very excited for the next few months but for now it's getting my lifts back up and focusing on getting my hormones back in line after my prep for Springs. It’s easy to compare stage shots, because progress is right there in your face, stripped of any extra fat that might hide growth. It’s common knowledge that off-season is where you build the muscle, and competition is where you get to show it off, but I think we need to start comparing off-season progress as well. The changes in my body even when I am deep in off-season continues to amaze me. Every time I prep and then regain my body fat, my body looks completely different. My last off-season, I took a reverse diet to intuitive eating to “fuck it, I’m eating whatever I want” approach. I took 18 months off between shows, and the picture on the left was actually taken about two weeks into prep for MuscleContest. After nationals I decided on a recovery diet approach, which allowed me to regain my body fat more quickly, and therefore helped my hormones to start regulating themselves sooner after spending 6 months in prep (FYI: they’re still working on it). I’ve been more consistent with my training and am at the very least loosely tracking macros still, but I do take a week off here or there when I feel like I need to not worry about numbers. The point of this post: be proud of your offseason changes the way you are proud of your prep changes. When someone decreases the amount of toxins they take in and they start consuming a healthy diet, the body has a chance to detoxify and purify the blood. When the blood is cleaner you will feel and look better. BUT. When the blood is clean, the body will see this as a chance to start moving all the stored toxic substances from their storage places and into the blood stream so they can be removed from the body. Well kind of. Right now I put all my effort onto strength building and powerlifting. My diet and my workout don't follow the goal to get bigger muscles and less fat. Still I build muscle mass and lose fat. This is a perk of puberty hormones and bone growths, my body builds itself.

I still pose and I still want to look like a bodybuilder and as soon as I lose this look, I will probably adjust my training and workout, do a bulk/cut phase and come back to pure bodybuilding for a few months.

But for now I want to focus only on strength and powerlifting technique.

My best advice is make sure you increase the amount of carbs 2 weeks before menstrual period, and also increase the amount of Leucine aminoacid in your diet. If you just increase the amount of BCAA's you should be fine as it is rich in Leucine.

I hope this will help the women out there to understand their body a little better. And make the men aware of why their women go crazy every month 😅

This is one of those myths that kill people's happiness on a daily basis.The "no carbs after*insert time*"bullsh*t. -
You need carbs to be happy man.-
Does avoiding carbs at night make you loss fat? well, complete avoiding carbs sources could drastically reduce your caloric intake, ending up in making you lose bodyfat & weight in the long run through an indirectly induced caloric deficit. You're basically cutting out a whole category of food, so that why you *could* lose bodyfat in the long run.-
Does this mean that carbs make you fat? -
Not at all: it's the total amount of calories consumed during the day that will dictate whether you're going to gain or lose bodyfat in the long run, not the timing of the single nutrients.-
Again: if calories are matched ,no single macronutrient taken singularly will have an impact on body composition, no matter the time of assumption.
Re-read this and stick it in your mind.

Personally I enjoy having my carbs at night because they make me feel full & satisfied. This help positively infact they do regulate hormones like leptin: which regulates energy balance by inhibiting hunger and makes you feel full and satisfied.-
Especially when dieting, the psychological part is very important in order to continue making progress and adhere to the program. This is why (for me) putting all of the carbs at night is a really good strategy... also because you can make room for social life events
(Carbs' party).-
Keep in mind that what you read might not work for everyone, as always. It's all up to preference and habits, and what makes you adhere to your own regimen for longer.

I really do miss competing especially seeing everyone starting prep on my Instagram feed, transforming daily, and getting ready for their shows (Respect to you all! Keep up the amazing work and best of luck on your upcoming shows 💪🏼😎).
However, I am also really enjoying the off-season. The caloric surplus is giving me more energy to enjoy the workouts, allowing me to focus on growing and improving my weak points.
I’m still not sure what my plans are competition wise this year but I will continue to work and improve while enjoying life with family and friends.

I always tend to splurge after a season of competing and allow myself to gain a huge amount of weight in a short amount of time. This usually gets me right back on prep before even letting my hormones get back to normal.
I’ve always been doing it wrong and never really knew there was such a thing as a “reverse diet.”
This off-season, I am making sure to implement the “reverse diet” strategy and gain weight back just as slowly as I was losing it during prep.

If you’re new to this, my advice to you is to either hire a coach/nutritionist to help you with your fitness journey or make sure to educate yourself well enough in all aspects of the path you decide to take (on-season AND off-season!).
