At his Hall of Fame induction Randy Moss wore a tie with 13 names on it. It’s been reported that the names on Moss’ tie were chosen by him “to honor black men/women killed by police” (@CBSSports), “to commemorate victims of police brutality” (@Deadspin) and “to pay tribute to those killed by police violence” (@Yahoo). After I rolled my eyes so hard they nearly fell out of my head, I looked further into each name. What I discovered were names like Greg Gunn, who was high on cocaine, ran from and fought police, was tased 4x (ineffective) and finally shot when he swung a metal pipe at officers. Tamir Rice was a 12 y/o delinquent who caused multiple calls to 911 as he pointed a replica handgun at ppl and was shot when he began to point the weapon (on which Rice had removed the orange safety tip identifying it as a replica) at police. Mike Brown (as we all know) had robbed a liquor store and was violently assaulting and attempting to disarm the officer who had stopped to question him. Sandra Bland’s death had nothing to do with police when she chose to commit suicide in her jail cell and Trayvon Martin was killed by a private citizen, which again, had nothing to do with police.

Of the 13 names listed on Moss’ tie, all but one were involved in some sort of criminal activity that first caused their encounters with police, so it’s reasonable to assume that their deaths wouldn’t have occurred at all had they not been breaking the law first. This is indisputable.

Mr. Moss, you are part of the problem today in America. You perpetuate the false narrative against police. You fuel and further the anti-police sentiment by leading society to believe the ppl’s deaths on your tie happened under circumstances which they did not.

Maybe tomorrow to court I’ll wear a tie listing all the officers who have been “truly” murdered since Mike Brown, a name on your tie. They weren’t breaking the law (like the names on your tie), but rather they were trying to protect their communities.
You fit 13 names on your tie. I’d have to wear 21 ties, because the number of officers murdered in that time frame is 261.

Hopefully this reaches you Randy, and you gain a bit of perspective.

The Oxnard Police Department on Friday released surveillance video of an officer-involved shooting that took place over the weekend.

Officer Daniel Oncea was on patrol in the Royal Duke Mobile Estates in the 1300 block of East Ventura Boulevard around 7:20 p.m. Sunday, according to the Police Department.

The officer saw a man who had outstanding warrants. The suspect has had many contacts with law enforcement in the past.

After a few moments, the incident quickly escalated. Video from a nearby security camera showed a violent struggle that lasted more than two minutes between Oncea and the man, which included punches and a tussle in the middle of the street.

Police noted in the video that the suspect punched Oncea several times and attempted to grab the officer’s weapon when it became loose and ended up on the ground. The video showed the suspect was on top of the officer and punching him multiple times.

During the course of the struggle, the officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect.
After the shooting, the suspect ran into his residence and barricaded himself inside. The Oxnard Police Special Enforcement Unit and Crisis Negotiation Unit was then called to the scene.

After several attempts to get Tapia to surrender, officers entered the residence and took him into custody and was subsequently booked into the Ventura County Jail.

The district attorney’s office filed a criminal case that includes several charges, including: Resisting an executive officer, felony battery with injury upon a peace officer and felony resisting an officer with attempted firearm removal from the officer’s holster.

The officer suffered minor injuries during the struggle.

Just a reminder to practice your ground work. Position. Control. Submission. Glad the Officer Oncea made it out with minor injuries. .

Imagine if you or your son or your loved one ran home, unarmed, scared in your own backyard, then when asked to show your hands by the police... you do as asked but since it is dark they actually can’t see much except your hands moving up as they just asked you to do & they open fire 20 rounds into you. Then as you lay dying they handcuff you & leave you on the backyard then proceed to question your grandparents about you without telling them anything about their grandchild lying in a pool of his own blood dying just 30 feet away. These cops should be charged with Murder but instead they will likely get off because they felt threatened (that is the get out of jail free card for police), paid leave, and may even still work as police officers. .

Now lets talk about Policing. Remember the victim was “suspected” to have broken a car window in a non violent burglary. So lets think about that for a minute assuming they even have the right suspect... they just escalated a non-violent low level burglary which after a trial & if convicted would have anything from probation to a few years in prison but the police escalated this situation they open fire because they felt threatened/scared by a situation they created. So the Police are judge, jury, & executioner killing an unarmed man for a crime he was not convicted of & in no court in the nation would ever of received such brutal punishment. .
The problem is policing. More training, more militarization, more community policing by the police is not the solution. All of those things actually strengthen the current system & make it harder to dismantle. Reform is not the answer, the system of Policing is broken & has a history of systematic racism built in from the days of reconstruction. Make communities stronger #abolishthepolice .
Today while the spotlight is on protesting gun violence in schools we must also be protesting policing. #Repost @snaybelle

When you say you'll reclaim illegally acquired land, you don't stop before the job is done. There is a Kikuyu saying that when you remove your clothes, you must shower. You don't just wash your face, you wash the entire body. So President Uhuru Kenyatta must clean the whole body by going for all illegally acquired public property. The land where the Weston Hotel stands belongs to the Civil Aviation Authority. Records clearly show that. So, if the President does not apply the law equally, we would understand that Kenya has levels of thieves. There are thieves without political power and those are the ones they are going after. When you protect a thief, you are a thief. The President, if he is not being a hypocrite and if he means business, should be ready to lose friends, including the Deputy President, by demolishing the Weston Hotel. As long as the hotel stands, it's a symbol of impunity. It shows that some animals are more equal than others. Remember this. A despicable act took place just next to the hotel. The merciless teargassing of Langata Primary School kids in 2015 to protect a land grabber. The President should be more concerned about his legacy than his popularity. He isn't running again. He should focus on what we will remember him for in 50 years. He should not appease anybody by promoting impunity. He can use at least three reports — Kroll, Ndungu and TJRC — to recover stolen public property.
As he recovers the land, he must also recover the stolen money. Arresting suspects is fine but KRA, the police must recover hidden loot. It would be a waste sending people to jail without recovering the money.
The President can do a plea bargain. You return the money, you don't go to jail. The President has the support of 50 million Kenyans in this anti-graft war. That support will actually be turned into love, but only if he really means business after 54 years of plunder.

Oklahoma City, OK - Body camera shows the moments police were able to track down a suspect who had jumped out of the back of a patrol vehicle while he was being checked for warrants.

While the suspect was being checked for warrants, two people approached the officers to speak with them about a different incident. While speaking with the two, one of the officers heard a noise and looked back to the vehicle the suspect was sitting in. Police found that the suspect had jumped out of the vehicle and ran to the nearby Super 8 Motel.

He was tracked to the second floor of the motel, where the officer began chasing him on foot. The officer eventually caught up with the suspect and he was taken into custody.

The suspect had warrants for his arrest for escaping arrest in LeFlore County and a forgery charge out of Texas.

He was later booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of attempting to escape custody.
That Officer showed GREAT restraint when he caught up to the suspect....... .

It’s #mentalhealthmonday and my amazingly smart, talented and beautiful inside & out twin cuzzies have inspired me @orangegellybean @wafflesgo 😉👯‍♀️😘 I’ve always wanted to be a motivational speaker and have always been an activist in my own life for mental health awareness, turns out they have similar aspirations!
Anywho, I want to partially explain my inactivity over the past few months. My brother is diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. He’s currently in jail, being treated like El Chapo (El Chapo is actually being treated better, funny what money can do 😑) when he belongs in a mental health facility, getting the help/treatment he needs/deserves. He has been given no bail, and Thursday marks one month he’s been behind bars. Even murderers receive bail and are allowed to roam free while awaiting trial! In a mental health crisis, people are more likely to encounter police than get medical help. As a result, 2 million people with mental illness are booked into jails each year. Nearly 15% of men and 30% of women booked into jails have a serious mental health condition (thank you @namicommunicate ). The majority of them are not violent criminals. Once in jail, many individuals don't receive the treatment they need and end up getting worse, not better. They stay longer than their counterparts without mental illness and are at risk of victimization. After leaving jail, many no longer have access to their desperately needed healthcare and benefits. A criminal record often makes it hard for these individuals to get a job or housing. Many, especially without access to mental health services and support, wind up homeless, in emergency rooms and are often re-arrested. People who could be helped are being ignored. Please help my brother by sharing and bringing awareness to these issues! #CantFuckWithFacts #MentalHealthAwareness #StopTheStigma #EducateTheNation #NotAshamed #StrengthInNumbers #JoinUs #WeCanDoIt #SpeakUp #ThereIsHope #schizoaffective

And if they see a Black person occupying that space, they feel as if they have the right to remove that Black person at all costs. This is mostly because they don’t see Black people as their equal. For them, Blacks are only good when they entertain and are a nuisance any other time. They lack empathy for people who have a different complexion. As a result, they will call the police on innocent Black people who sit at Starbucks; sleep while studying at Yale; stay at an Airbnb, or barbecue with family in the park. There is an epidemic where people are calling the police simply because they don’t like someone of another race. This has to be stopped. And it will only stop when the ramifications of being racist and acting on it is a prosecutable offense that comes with a fine or jail time." Words: @arshaw23

My privilege, that I carry in my gay back pocket is the reason why non violent drug related arrests show a racial disparity of 3-1 in my county. My white skin is 3 times less likely to be pulled over by police, is 3 times less likely to be arrested for marijuana possession, and 3 times more likely to be put on probation than be sentenced to county jail in the event of a prosecutable offense. I live in a county, in a state that HATES me, marginalizes me, ignores me, all while vilifying WHITE MEN. However, my knowledge of these facts in no way, shape or form, erases the fact that if I were a BLACK gay married woman, every negative situation involving police would've been compounded in a way that is even more detrimental than it has been to my life. If I were a black woman, who'd called police and said a white man called her a faggot and hit her with a socket wrench, I cannot begin to fathom the outcome. From my assailant, to the city worker who observed and gave a written statement, to the cops, my landlord and my neighbors. The amount of judgement and complicity I have been fighting against, well I can't honestly imagine how different all of it would be, if I were simply: black. But you know what? I try. I try to imagine it from her perspective bc she is my neighbor, she's my friend, she is many of my friends. And to ignore her, ignore her family, the many families who have been wrought with these exact or worse horrors to no avail, to ignore that would be wrong. My privilege allows me the space and safety to consider her viewpoint. For shame if I don't. Please consider applying this thought process to your life. Try to think of the advantage you don't realize you have. Unpack your privilege. It's easy.

On Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1:08 am, the Huntington Beach Police Department responded to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Magnolia Street regarding a traffic collision involving two vehicles.

When officers arrived on scene, they saw a vehicle on fire in the intersection. Huntington Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the location and put out the fire. Three victims died on scene as a result of the collision, and the identification of those victims will not be released until next of kin can be notified.

One occupant in the vehicle was transported to a local trauma center with unknown injuries, and is listed in stable condition. A female driver, Bani Duarte, 27, of San Clemente was arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter while Intoxicated and Driving Under the Influence Causing Injury. She was transported to the Huntington Beach Jail.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears a white Hyundai Sonata driven by Duarte was traveling northbound Pacific Coast Highway when she struck a red Toyota that was stopped at the intersection of PCH and Magnolia.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the HBPD Major Incident Response Team (M.I.R.T.). All lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were initially shut down, but they have been reopened and are now clear.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Huntington Beach Police Accident Investigator Joshua Page at 714-536-5670. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 714-960-8825.

One sunny day in October, at the Jefferson Parish correctional center just across the river from downtown New Orleans, Tiffany Burns, 34, was visiting her boyfriend.

The pair had been dating for almost two years and were still giggly in love when a late July knock on the door sent him away. Scooped up by the police after being accused of robbing a suburban bank at gunpoint, Chrishon Brown, 37, was sent to the correctional center while his case worked its way through the court.

A new, unwelcome chapter of their relationship began, with Brown using all his jail funds to call Tiffany, and Tiffany visiting as often as she could.

It was a long drive from her home in the Metairie suburb west of New Orleans, and could sometimes take about an hour each way with the traffic near downtown, but Burns was happy to do it. “When I visit, sometimes I forget about the glass and it feels like we are together again.” She felt that way during her visit on 12 October, right up until the moment she walked out the jail door and was handed a pamphlet. “Visit an inmate from anywhere!” exclaimed the heading. A photo of a smiling blond woman using a tablet with her daughter was featured on the next page. “From now on, no more visits,” said the jail guard, as she shut the door behind Tiffany. “If you want to see him, read that.” “I didn’t realize that would be my last visit,” Tiffany later said.

Under the new system, in-person visits are no longer allowed. Instead, all visits now must be done by video, either from a smartphone, computer, or at an offsite location.

The pamphlet, published by Securus Technology, makes using a video feed to talk to your loved one seem appealing. It says: “Do you want to see your loved one more often? Stop missing out on: • Watching your favorite TV show. • Singing Happy Birthday. • Reading a bedtime story ... Never miss another moment.” Under the new system, each video visit made from home costs $12.99 for 20 minutes. In-person visits used to be free.

This shift also raises a legal question: is in-person visitation an inmate’s legal right?

Artist locks himself in cage in front of jail.At approximately 12:20 Sunday, a man appeared locked in a cage at the intersection of Center and White street, in front of the court house. The cage was welded shut and he was wearing a prison uniform and handcuffs. The man would not speak but when asked questions by bystanders and police presented a card that read: "Hello my name is Lech Szpoer. This is an art performance. Nothing against you but the system needs to change. I'm not talking without my attorney." One woman called his attorney but there was no answer. It took 3 police officers to slide him to the sidewalk. The scene was roped off as they waited for a chainsaw to arrive. An officer handed the artist a blindfold for his safety and other officers sawed him out of the cage. The police then removed the artists handcuffs and put on their own. WARREN, Ohio - Police are working with authorities in Stark County to investigate a disturbing case of animal cruelty after a video and pictures of a man skinning a pit bull surfaced on social media.

A Warren police official confirms to the Fox 8 I-Team that detectives are investigating the case and say they arrested a Stark County man who is alleged to be the person in the video.

No charges have been filed yet in regards to the video, officials said.

The man was arrested Saturday afternoon on an outstanding warrant on an unrelated case. He is currently being held in the Trumbull County jail. “This is a very disturbing case and we are investigating,” said Traci Timko-Sabau, an assistant Warren city law director.

She said Warren Detectives Mike Altiere and Brian Crites have been working on the case since Friday evening when the video was sent to the police department. “We believe this incident happened in Stark County several weeks ago but has just come to the attention of law enforcement,” Timko-Sabau said. She added the suspect was staying in Warren when he was arrested.

The man's outstanding warrant was out of the city of Louisville in Stark County , officials said.

Saba-Timko said Altiere and Crites will be working with investigators in Stark County on Monday to determine if and where any additional charges should be filed.

Do officers harass women for sex before granting them bail at the Ilaje Police Division in Bariga, Lagos State?

This is the puzzle Commissioner of Police Imohimi Edgal has asked the Gender Unit of the Command to unravel following allegations of sexual harassment against an officer at the station.

A widow, Mrs Adebukola Mowette, is alleging that an officer, simply identified as Egi asked her for sex to grant her bail. “He fondled my breasts and threatened to ensure I rot in prison if I refused to sleep with him. He said in jail, they will shave the hairs on my private parts and those on my head,” the woman told The Nation yesterday.” Mowette, who was detained on June 25, after a fight with a man, said she was yet to get over the humiliation and harassment she went through.

Our correspondent met her at the Bariga monarch’s place, while investigating other allegations against policemen at the division.

She said she was shocked by the actions of another policeman and a policewoman, who told her to accept Egi’s proposal for the case against her would be dropped.

The woman recalled that it all started in May when she reported the loss of her phone at the station.

She claimed that she placed her phone on a roadside betting kiosk popularly known as Baba Ijebu, where some youngsters sat in order to tie her wrapper properly. She said when she was done, she did not find the phone again. “They said they did not see my phone and so, I had to go to the police to report. They were invited but at the end of the day, the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) said I accused them wrongly and asked us to go. “From that day, whenever I passed, they would be threatening me and making snide remarks. I never replied them. I even reported the matter to our Community Development Association (CDA). But on June 25, my son came from Ikorodu and they stopped him on the road and threatened him as well. They said they would kill us if we did not leave the street for them. { Continues in the comment section}

When a Bluffton, South Carolina woman was pulled over after running a stop sign at 60 mph, police probably didn't expect her excuse as to why she didn't deserve to go to jail.

According to a police report, Lauren Cutshaw tried convincing officers to not take her to jail because she was a "very clean, thoroughbred, white girl." Unfortunately for Cutshaw, Bluffton police didn't buy her reasoning and arrested her on multiple offenses including; speeding, disregarding a stop sign, simple possession of marijuana, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia according to the New York Post.

I wonder if those who’ve not experienced things like this realize what it’s like 2 fear the police. Is the fear exaggerated? Is the media blowing it up? If u know me I hope u trust me some. When I tell u I am deeply grateful 4 having a police force available when I’ve needed them I tell u no lie. But I can tell u that in my most vulnerable years, as a teen of color, my friends & I were hounded by the police. I was threatened w/a night in jail for hanging out late at a beach. After my White friends were sent home, my Afro-Latinx friend & I were asked if we weren’t “too dark to be out this late.” We answered subserviently & were allowed 2 leave. Another night an officer held a gun 2 another Afro-Latinx friend’s chest & said “I could kill you right now,” in front of witnesses. Another day I watched officers beat down a friend who wasn’t resisting — after putting down the video camera they’d been filming w/. They then lied in a top-10, Pulitzer-winning newspaper, right down 2 saying he was wearing all-black. He was wearing white. He’d been there 2 protect a smaller kid who was being threatened. There are other examples. Not long after these, police shot an unarmed Black teen during a traffic stop. Folks rioted. The police called in community leaders & got help. I’d moved away by then. I don’t know if things changed. Now, I was sometimes in the wrong as a kid. But not always. And I was a light-skinned young woman — which made me SAFER. But even today I know that in stores I keep my hands where employees can see them when I’m around small items (lest they assume I’m stealing), I’m extra careful abt speeding in certain areas bc getting pulled over... u never know. I’m steeped in privilege bc of my skin color & gender & still watch my back. Black men on the other hand DO NOT GET BREAKS. They are not safe. Ever. This is the truth. We have to deal w/the toxic racism we are ALL steeped in — which manifests in our institutions & KILLS. And we have 2 keep saying #BlackLivesMatter til they matter 2 everyone. #StephonClark matters. 💔

Friends and relatives of a 28-year-old Naperville businesswoman are angrily questioning her death in a Texas jail.

#SandraBland was found dead in a Waller County, Texas, jail cell on Monday at 9 a.m. after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer during a routine traffic stop, the I-Team has learned. Authorities say her death appears to be suicide.

In numerous emails and phone calls to the ABC7 I-Team, her friends and relatives say they do not believe the official version of what happened and say this is a case of foul play in a county with a history racial intolerance.

Bland was pulled over Friday for improper signaling a lane change, according to Waller County Sheriff's Department officials. They say she was charged with "Assault on a Public Servant" and taken into custody by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper.

Bland's friends say she had been with her family in suburban Chicago over the July 4th holiday, and drove to Texas for a job interview at her alma mater, Texas Prairie View A & M. Family members say she got the position and was to begin working in student outreach today.

Sheriff R. Glenn Smith says that jailers saw Bland at 7 a.m. Monday when they gave her breakfast and again at 8 a.m. when they spoke with her over the jail intercom. Smith says she was found dead an hour later. In a press release from the sheriff's department, authorities say they applied CPR, but that Bland was pronounced dead shortly after she was found.

The Willowbrook High School graduate died by "self-inflicted asphyxiation," according to sheriff's deputies, who have turned the investigation over to Texas Rangers. Some family members and friends say Bland was found hanging in the jail cell, but authorities have not confirmed the exact circumstances around her death.

In a press release from the sheriff's department, authorities say they applied CPR, but Bland was pronounced dead shortly after she was found. #f4f #s4s #l4l #c4c #likeforlike #likeall #like4like #likes4likes #liking #instagood #texas #follow #followme #followback #followforfollow #follow4follow #followers #followher #follower #followhim #followbackteam #gyantnews #news #this

Now, the system is designed to pull you over for something minor but then make it escalate with things like drugs and guns. I had neither in my car nor any warrants for my arrest but they still took me to jail. After 30 minutes of sitting in the registry part they had to let me go because there was no crime committed 🤷🏾‍♂️ it’s sad that when you’re young and black you’re a target in America. The Virginia Beach police department tried to turn me into another Black male statistic last night but I’m not the type to be fooled so.....Nice try. This is the bag they put all my stuff in. Clowns! That BM stands for black male. They want us all locked up.

Via thegrio.com: Nikki Yovino may have plead guilty to making false rape claims against two football players at a Connecticut college – but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s remorseful.

The former Sacred Heart University student claimed she was raped by two men during a party in 2016, but then later admitted to making up the allegations because she wanted a potential love interest to feel sympathy for her. She shocked witnesses when she rolled her eyes in court as one of her victims spoke about how her false allegations ruined his life.
Thursday, Yovino was sentenced to a year in jail in Bridgeport Superior Court after pleading guilty in June to misdemeanor charges of falsely reporting an incident and interfering with police.

The two students she accused had remained anonymous up until Thursday. One of the men, Malik St. Hilaire, stepped forward to read a victim impact statement to the courtroom. In his statement St. Hilaire explained how Yovino’s false claims got him expelled from school. “I went from being a college student to sitting at home being expelled with no way to clear my name,” St. Hilaire said. “I just hope she knows what she has done to me, my life will never be the same. I did nothing wrong, but everything has been altered because of this.” But rather than be contrite, Law & Crime reports that Yovino smirked and repeatedly rolled her eyes as the young man addressed the room.
Someone standing close to Yovino during the hearing claims they also heard her groaning in annoyance as St. Hilaire spoke and she showed “no remorse”. Her attorney has since denied these accounts saying that it had been a “difficult day for Nikki and her family.” Frank Riccio III, the attorney representing both football players, read a statement from the second man, who has chosen not to be publicly identified. The man said he lost his football scholarship because of Yovino’s allegations and now suffers from depression and anxiety. “She accused me of what I believe to be a horrendous, horrific crime out of her own selfish concerns,” the unidentified student’s statement read, according to The Hour. “I lost my scholarship, my dream of continuing to play football and.."

After all the tears of pain, humiliation, sadness & sheer frustration, I somehow manage to pray... I pray you are in peace and keeping yourself strong amidst this insanely unjust chaos. I pray you are protected against further brutality. I pray there is enough light inside the jail for your mind to play with. I pray and really hope there are atleast few great people in there who are keeping you in good company. We await your release with bated breath and love you beyond measures Shahidul Bhai- I hope you are well however you are.🌹

Two men this past Friday 9/02/2018 held a gun on my neck and took all my things in Observatory on my way to a swimming class. Close friends and family also know two years ago I was dragged out my car with a gun requesting my car. When this happened Friday I had a flash back as the two men ran off, of the hijack incident. I remember thinking NOT AGAIN. In that moment, gun or not I took off my shoes and ran after these men. They were shocked even when they pointed the gun back at me and I refused to believe it was real. Catching up to them the community of observatory beat them, police were so fast there. I spent all day at the police station thinking two men are going to jail because of me. I had to buy a new phone as they dropped it during the mobbed attack and a few things I got back but I walk away proud I fought back this time. THEY APPEARED IN COURT YESTERDAY AND DENIED BAIL. Really wanna thank Officer DANIELS and Officer STEVENS LAW ENFORCEMENT OF WOODSTOCK and security team of Obsids construction Mr Dana and Mr Mnothoza who helped hold the men down. #justiceserved #fightingback #crimemustfall

.
Today St. Martin Parish Sheriffs deputies violently attacked peaceful water protectors who were shutting down an illegal Bayou Bridge Pipeline construction site.
.
Cherri Foytlin and three other water protectors were arrested. At least three people are facing trumped up felony charges. The deputies used pain compliance, pepper spray and batons. They arrested us on behalf of Energy Transfer Partners (ETP). On the land we have permission to be. And they do not.
.
ETP is trying to silence our resistance, but it will only grow. If you ever wanted to join us on the frontlines, now is the time. .
JOIN US by emailing [email protected] with your name, phone number, why you want to come to camp, when you will be arriving and how long you plan on staying. We will respond with the directions to camp and what to bring.
.
Then PLEASE CALL the St. Martin Parish Sheriff Department and demand that they stop illegally arresting and brutalizing water protectors: (337) 394-8931

A Florida woman is suing the Fort Lauderdale Police Department after she was brutally beaten only 8 days after testifying against a cop who was caught on video assaulting a homeless man

Jessica Mooney was with her fiancé on February 22, 2015, when he recorded Officer Victor Ramirez striking a homeless man in the face, reported The Miami New Times.

Ramirez assaulted the man because he wanted to use the restroom. After punching the man and knocking him to the ground, Ramirez says, “You’re not going to go pee. You’re not supposed to pee here.” Ramirez then slaps the man as he sits on the ground. He chose to emit the assault from his report – aka falsifying a report.

Even though the video clearly shows the officer bullying and needlessly assaulting an unarmed man, Ramirez was acquitted of misdemeanor battery and falsifying records and only received a 20-day suspension.

Ramirez is no stranger to being an abusive bully. He has at least 10 other documented use-of-force incidents, with 8 of them occurring at Broward Central Terminal.

The officer’s victim, Bruce LeClair, was awarded $50,000 in a legal settlement over the assault.

Jessica Mooney testified in the criminal case against Officer Ramirez. “All I did was try to help somebody,” Mooney told ABC 10 News after the beating. “I testified because I thought it was the right thing to do, because the cop was wrong.” Only 8 days after testifying against the violent officer, Mooney was arrested and beaten by Fort Lauderdale police over a false claim she did not pay a $63.57 bill at the Quarterdeck Restaurant.

Officers took Mooney to the station, and that is where she was beaten by multiple cops. Mooney says Officer Amanda Moreno “smashed her face” into a fingerprinting machine, before 3 or 4 other officers kicked and punched her after she fell to the ground.

As usual, prosecutors chose not to charge any of the abusive officers that beat the innocent woman.

The innocent woman was held in the Broward County Jail for 2 days before she was allowed to go to the Broward Health Medical Center emergency department for treatment of her “head trauma.”

Dear, Moma @sassy1diva
When I was young me and my mama had beef
Seventeen years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face
Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place
Suspended from school, and scared to go home, I was a fool
With the big boys, breaking all the rules
I shed tears with my baby sister
Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids
And even though we had different daddy's, the same drama
When things went wrong we'd blame mama
I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell
Hugging on my mama from a jail cell
And who'd think in elementary?
Hey! I see the penitentiary, one day
And running from the police, that's right
Mama catch me, put a whooping to my backside
And…

Scroll to the second video, I'm a big scary black man too so that could easily happen to me - but I'm light skin so I guess there's a slightly lower chance. The police officers in the second video should be in jail right now, charged with assault and a hate crime. If you can't see something is terribly wrong in this justice system, you're either purposely blind, or you simply don't care about anybody who isn't white and you're a big part of the problem. I'll never forget what my first roommate at UM said when he got drunk and let his true feelings out when I asked him who he was gonna vote for between Obama and McCain. "I couldn't vote for Obama, not because he's black - just because he's not white." Word. He moved out the next week, just for the record. ✌️

Featuring a view of the bridge from the Mew York side that was taken in 1899 when kitties from @allekx, @napoleonsworld & @barleythedevonrex happened to be crossing. At today’s historic opening, an all-animal holiday was declared in Brooklyn. Cat toys were hung from the bridge in decoration. Muskrat President Chester A. Arthur attended a kibble reception before then crossing the bridge to the sounds of cannon fire. The Brooklyn Acatdemy of Music played some stuff at 9pm, then there were fireworks, and the bridge was finally thrown open at midnight to anyone with four legs to cross. Many of the dogs who lived on both sides of the bridge doubted it’s stability when it first opened. Chihuahuas were especially nervous about it. To squelch those doubts, P.T. Barnum himself led Jumbo and 20 other not-so-quite-as-jumbo-as-Jumbo elephants across it. The first animal to attempt to survive a jump from the bridge was the platypus Robert Odlum, in 1885. Odlum was trying to demonstrate that animals could not die simply from falling through the air. Death through air-falling was somehow a common misconception at the time. Keep in mind, this is back in a period in history when people feared the effects of ‘whizzing through space’ at 25mph in an automobile. Odlum felt that if he could show that air-falling was painless, animals wouldn’t be afraid of jumping from burning buildings into a fireman’s net. He probably should’ve jumped into a fireman’s net, instead of off of a 277ft high bridge. Because he landed at a funny (not funny) angle and died shortly thereafter from internal hemorrhaging. Cats of the day all wondered why a platypus, of all animals, thought he could land correctly from such a height. It wasn’t long after the bridge opened, that con-men started ‘selling’ the bridge to tourists. A weasel named “I.O.U. O’Brien” went to jail for this in 1901. The ferret George C Parker made a living selling Mew York’s public landmarks to unwary European immigrant hedgehogs. Police dogs once had to remove several of Parker’s unwitting victims from the bridge because they were erecting toll booths!

It is such a blessing to have this family 🙏🏾 @erv_i_am and #VirsaviyaArtHeart I can’t thank Jesus enough for what He have done for me. Remembering my journey I don’t even think I deserve all this and I can’t understand how I was able to make it so far. Being a regular Russian girl, not smart, always in the hospitals, very skinny, very shy, raised in a very small city unfortunately not in the healthy environment with alcoholics and drug addicts around. Most of my childhood friends end up being drug addicted, in the jail, some of them are dead or missing. My real father was alcoholic he were choked and thrown to the river by Russian mafia because they wanted to take his apartment when I was 12. We thought he is missing but in 1 year police found his bones(My stepdad that was with me for 20 years died last year from cancer) my auntie and uncle died from alcoholism when I was a child. Even though I didn’t smoke or drink or did drugs but I got married with the drug addicted person who abused me for 5 years just because I came from the destructive family and didn’t know any better I thought I could help him and save him. What a lie? Only Lord can help to those who is willing to accept this help and try their best to change. There is much more that I can’t disclose for now.. maybe one day I will. But thinking lately about it a lot I just want to say that I would never make it on my own. My God gave me everything. He gave me strength, hope, wisdom, self love .during the huge struggle I was able to get out of the place where was no future, from the city where was no opportunities, from the family where was no relationship and love. He opened new doors for me, kept a very few the most important people in my life like my best friend @fuentas_ my mom @lenakonynnikova my spiritual mentor @panova.olgas and delivered me to the new life that I’m showing you now and here just because He saw me trying to change my life, He saw my heart as He sees yours. I will never say I did it on my own because I didn’t it’s all Him. And whatever you going through just know my Lord is here for you and He can deliver you, just please try your best. #KodakBlack has once again been arrested in #Florida. This time sources say Kodak was at his home on #InstagramLIVE when the #police kicked in the door to arrest him. In the process of capturing #Kodak they said they found multiple #firearms in his safe and #marijuana being consumed. Allegedly there was an infant child present and this is what’s causing him trouble. Now Kodak is begging from jail for the firearms to be fingerprinted to prove they do not belong to him. Nobody else in the home has stepped forward to claim the weapons. Sources say the Florida native recently got caught up in some #rapBeef with #Kolyon , another Florida rapper. People are speculating that maybe a #rapBeef had a hand in who notified the police of what was going on Kodak’s Live stream. The Charges range from child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and marijuana. We want to know, since Kodak is calling to fingerprint the weapons, what happens if one of his family members prints show up on the firearm? Is that considered #snitching ? This is my NY2018 post, let’s pretend I posted it yesterday. // Being that I work from home and I’m actually an old Italian man, I keep a pretty close eye on our street in Philly - neighbors are a more effective tool for safety and security than the police. (A gross understatement.) // I happened to be pulling a video off my outdoor camera for someone who had their bumper ripped off by a hit and run driver when I saw this guy pluck a package off my neighbor’s doorstep. // When I caught up to him and told him to give me back the package, he made a half-hearted claim to ignorance while simultaneously reaching out with it. He was obviously using. In Philly, the rate of overdose deaths is quadruple the murder rate. // I started for home, then stopped and turned around, closing the gap between us. “Hey! Why are you stealing packages, anyway?” He turned around but hesitated to stop getting away. “I feel bad man, I feel bad. I’m hungry.” I reached into my pocket, pulled out $20. “Go get something to eat.” // I don’t know if I did the right thing. He may have turned around and bought more drugs. He may have gotten a hot meal. Maybe both. I hope it helped him get through another day. // A few weeks ago I had to go to court to testify against the guy I had caught stealing from cars a few months back. The defendant was in court, his eyes bright and clear, not like that day this summer. He’s been in jail on other charges. The ADA asked if I wanted to make a victim impact statement to the court, and puzzled a bit when I said yes after I told him I didn’t want even $1 restitution. I asked the judge that he try to ensure he gets the best of the justice system, not the worst - that we help him not make his life harder. He thanked me and was surprised, commenting that most people just want retribution. // I’m not posting this for a pat on the back, please don’t. I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing or even good things. // My point, if I have one, is what if we stood up against what is wrong AND had more compassion? // Probably no one will see this because algorithms. Thanks for reading if you did.

Today In Cat History, May 10, 1994. Mandelacat is pictured here in 1997 with Princess Diana in Cape Town. Played today by Kobe (or is that Shaggy?!) from Denmark’s @shaggy.kobe.roy. Mandelacat spent 27 years of his life in a shelter as a political prisoner. But in his inaugural address today, without bitterness he said,”the time for healing of the wounds has come.” Born in 1918, Mandelacat was the son of the chief of the Tembu cats. The anti-feline racist National Party came to power in 1948 and institutionalized a system of canine supremacy & segregation by breed as official government policy. In 1952 Mandelacat was made deputy national president of the African National Cats, a political organization dedicated to winning rights for the cat majority in dog-ruled South Africa. In 1960, thousands of cats marched on a police station in Sharpeville to protest ‘pass laws’ that severely limited the movements of all South African animal breeds by requiring them to carry pass books when outside their homelands or pre-designated areas. During the protest, the german shepherd police force opened fire on the crowd. There were 289 casualties, including 29 kittens. Many sustained injuries from being shot in the back as they fled. After the massacre, Mandelacat helped organize a paramilitary branch of the ANC to engage in acts of sabotage against the canine minority government. Arrested & imprisoned, Mandelacat spent 18 of his 27 years in jail at the brutal Robben Island Prison. There he was confined to a small cell without a bed or a litter box and was forced to do hard labor in a quarry. It wasn’t until 1989 that the bulldog F.W. de Klerk became president and set about dismantling apartheid. On Feb. 11, 1990, Mandelacat was released. The ANC won a clear majority in the 1994 election. In today’s inaugural Mandelacat declared,”In honoring those who fought to see this day arrive, we honor the best litters of all our animals. We can count amongst them cats, mice, dogs, elephants, giraffes, warthogs and rhinos - all united by a common vision of a better life for every animal in this country.”

Changes career to fight animal abuse... A Weymouth veterinarian — “haunted” by her work on the “Puppy Doe” animal torture case — said the experience has prompted her to dedicate her life to fighting animal abuse. “She was interrupting my dreams. She was pushing me to this,” Dr. Martha Smith-Blackmore said about the notorious case of a tortured pit bull. “The ruminations I had after the case, trying to come to terms with it, she helped me understand that there was more that I could do to help other animal victims like herself.” Smith-Blackmore has become a forensic veterinary investigator after working on the Puppy Doe case, which received widespread attention when the year-old pit bull mix was found on a playground in Quincy in August 2013 with skull, spine and rib fractures, a stab wound to the right eye and a split tongue. The postmortem exam took Smith-Blackmore nearly two full days to complete.

Her graphic testimony helped put the abuser in jail for 8 to 10 years. The experience led her to a career in serving justice for abused animals. “I was haunted by her case, like so many other people,” Smith-Blackmore said. “I can help on individual cases now. I can help to build a field that’s going to help countless animals going forward, and people.”
After 20 years as a veterinarian, Smith-Blackmore completed a fellowship at the medical examiner’s office in Boston to learn more about forensics, how to approach these cases and document them in a way that presents well to prosecutors.

Smith-Blackmore has since opened her Boston-based business, Forensic Veterinary Investigations, and gets called to help with cases from police departments and lawyers all over the country.

She is currently working on an initiative called the Animal Doe Project, a fund to raise money for the resources she needs to perform necropsies on abused, unidentified animals.

She recently did a necropsy on a cat found in Canton in “brutal condition.” Canton police are still investigating, but now have evidence with her findings. Smith-Blackmore created a rendering of what the cat probably looked like. “I know I’ve done the right thing.” #junos2018 #puppydoe

Another key witness in Corey Miller’s case has come forward to recant his testimony
Last week, a man named Kenneth Jordan admitted he lied under oath during Corey Miller’s trials, after cops threatened him with arrest.
"I remember that they asked me if Corey Miller did the murder. My very first statement to them was Corey Miller didn't do this. They tricked me, I wasn't signing the photo to ID the shooter. I signed it because they told me to. They got me to ID Corey Miller’s picture and sign it," Darnell Jordan continued.
Darnell Jordan claims he did not want to testify at Corey Miller’s first trial, so he skipped the state of Louisiana and headed to California.
But police caught up with him, shackled him and shipped Jordan back to New Orleans.
Darnell Jordan claims he was sequestered in a hotel for a week, when a detective (Donald Clogher) finally came in and forced him to sign a statement with words he maintains he never said.
According to Darnell Jordan, he was not able to fully tell his side of the story in court, and claims he saw the gun flash come from the opposite side of the room where Corey Miller was standing, meaning the rap star could not have been the shooter.
The bouncer said he also frisked Corey miller, who was free of any contraband, including a gun.
During the second trial, the police came to Darnell Jordan's mother-in-law's house with their guns drawn.
Darnell Jordan says he was sent to solitary confinement in jail for a few days, and then sent to another hotel room, where he was not allowed to speak to anyone but his wife, as the trial took place.
Lawyers for Corey Miller have maintained that each one of his trials has been tainted by shady prosecutors, unreliable witnesses and a juror who admitted she was pressured to find the rap star guilty. #freecoreymiller #innocentman #cmurder #freecmurder #cominghome #soon #wrongfullyaccused

I was just sitting here counting my blessings like damn. Fast forwarding past other jail stints and thinkin about the one that landed me in prison, i got locked up, got out, A dear friend died the next day 😔 I went back 3 weeks later got out, went again a month later, got out again. Started at Paul Mitchell Hair School, Had to literally run from the police while I was at Paul Mitchell and fake like I was kicked out the school just so I could finish school. Beasting at the school winning trips and all types of stuff, then broke my Femur (drinking/texting and driving) and I had to move downstairs and I would watch the police go to my old apartment on a regular to try and pick me up. Went back to school in a wheel chair just so I could finish. Finished and Soon as I started walking after about 6 months of no walking, I Got caught up in Georgia facing 15 felonies. Them people wanted to throw away the key 🤦🏽‍♀️. Got out from there went to face my other charges and they let me out 😯. I was out a good 6 months. Doing good was back in college, opened up my own salon suite and BAM I’m locked back up, by now I’m tired, i had a heart to heart with my kids and told my lawyer to tell them to send me to Prison. I wanted it to be over. I got out and moved straight to Charlotte and I’m really here, surviving, on my own, not a family member or friend in sight. It’s been almost 2 years, I’m in awe of the level of faith I’ve had in God throughout all these years cause NOT ONE TIME did I think I wasn’t going to make it. Not one time did I consider myself a failure after the countless times I should have. I actually took my 2 kids and moved to a strange land and have no intentions on looking back. And That’s just a snipet, so when I say I Loathe excuses I truly do cuz it AINT no excuses! If I can overcome, ANYONE can! When I speak I truly speak from experience. I’ve gone through true character building trials. And I truly believe it was all a part of Gods plan. . The love I’ve received from building my clientele here Amazes me! I’m sooo Thankful. I felt like I needed to let you all know my background so you could know how appreciative I am

I woke up this morning with a message from a few deceased soldiers. They told me the #MostHigh don't want no pussies or cowards on his team when it goes down. He only wants #Men #Warriors #Soldiers #Leaders and people who do the will of good deeds. Yesterday a kid was scared to ride his bike to the store because he saw a police car there. He was only 8 years old and wanted a soda after playing baseball. I remember growing up we use to think the #cops got the bad guys and now they are the bad guys. We children fear you its a problem. We cant be blind however, yes men deserve to be in jail because of their actions and outlook on life real #criminals but I don't see the need for them to be murdered unless they shoot first or molested a child. At that same rate cops are killing civilians at point blank range cold blooded murder and nothing is happening no consequences #nothing. How long we gone stand for injustice? Will there ever be justice? Will the world ever change? I am here to live and here to die. As of now Im not heard though I came back. 300 years from now mankind will look back at this generation of great people and will be viewed as #barbarians and #animals. Pay attention. Dogs no longer chase cats or cars even they are evolving. My point as I close is this. Change starts with you Mr #Police with you Mr #Thug with #You who ever you are #Good or #Bad but eventually the 40million will have to all come together in unity and #war. Some of us will die but victory will be sweet. I'll do it for my future seeds and yours rather y'all with me or Im alone. But I wont win alone #PrinceMelchizedek #SonOfTheMostHigh #MakaveliTrained

SHOCKING !!! FEMALE GOAT ALLEGEDLY GANG RAPED AND KILLED BY 8 MEN IN MEWAT VILLAGE OF NUH DISTRICT IN HARYANA
In yet another horrifying incident from Mewat town of Nuh district in Haryana, a female goat was allegedly gang raped by 8 men, 3 of whom have been identified. However, all accused are on the run and are expected to be arrested soon. The goat couldn’t survive the ordeal and is said to have succumbed to the injuries. After she was gang raped, she was reportedly tortured and abused to kill her.
A FIR has been registered under Sections 34, 377 and 429 IPC, Section 11(1)(a) & (l) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

In touch with the Superintendent of Police, Nuh and SHO Nagina Police Station.
There has been a steep increase in cases of sexual abuse against animals. People who are violent often start with animals as victims and then move on to humans. This case should, therefore, worry everyone. Yet another horrifying case of abuse and cruelty to animals.

Such brutal acts of cruelty to animals are on the rise and all of us need to do our bit to reduce these crimes. Not only is this unacceptable because animals are harmed and brutally killed but such people are said to have a criminal mindset and oftentimes do not stop at hurting animals. According to mental-health and law-enforcement authorities, people who commit acts of cruelty to animals often move on to hurting humans. This emphasises the need to investigate such cases and take the perpetrators to task under the law before they commit any other crime.
Animals become first targets as they are easy preys.
PS - Section 377 IPC is non-bailable in nature and provides for upto a lifetime jail term.
In my humble opinion, need of the hour is to amend Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code so as to decriminali

Dude claimed afterward that he was “just trying to move her out of the way” and that he “barely touched” her, but for reals watch the video—the police did, and then busted out the handcuffs. This is an individual who got up with the express purpose of touching this woman without her consent, who was sneaky about it revealing that he knew it wasn’t OK, and who lied about it after. HE IS IN JAIL NOW. It was never ok to treat people this way—not when my friend was a stewardess who was regularly propositioned by men who behaved as though it was part of the ticket price, not when I was pinned against a bar by a crowd of men dressed as Santa who crossed the line because their fake beards made them anonymous, not when you were on that date where he made an unwanted move, not when you were on the dance floor in that crowded club where his hand “slipped by accident,” not under any circumstance. Assault is legally defined as ANY time you are touched without your consent—in some cases even the threat of unwanted physical contact—and it’s the charge that got this fella arrested. And my guess is, despite #metoo and despite our current social landscape when it comes to this kind of behavior, that he was STILL SURPRISED. I am not condoning violent countermeasures—even this young woman stated that she was surprised by her own reaction when he grabbed her—but I am fully in favor of looking people in the eye and telling them, “This is not ok, and I will not allow you to treat me that way.” We can do better. We will do better. It’s one ass grab at a time, but it’s a start. #emeliaholden

Long, Bold and Dark.

For the last week, Berlin Bar is highlighting The French Connexion. This week, in collaboration with Cerbaco, discover the second and last part of the story of the French Connection.
Based in Marseille, the Corsican mob were shipping a massive amount of heroin to the USA. At the head of this scheme were the Guérini gang; Barthélémy and Antoine who were the head of an 8 child family. When WWII started, they chose to side with the Resistance and fought the Nazis. This decision had been decisive for their future. They created strong links with key French figures of the after war, like Robert Blémant (Marseille’s chief of police) and Gaston Defferre (Marseille’s mayor for 34 years and 7 times minister). For twenty years, this family was one of the most influential mobs in Europe. They had been in bed with Lucky Luciano in a worldwide cigarette scheme and created the “Unione Corse”, a partnership of Corsican mobsters behind the infamous French Connection.

Antoine decided in the 60s to invest in a gambling establishment in Paris in partnership with an old friend Robert Blémant, an ex-Marseille’s chief of police and now a mobster. The establishment was losing a lot of money and Antoine blamed Blémant. He organised Blémant’s murder against his brothers advice because it was against the rules of the mafia code. From this point on, everything went south. Antoine was murdered 2 years later in front of his son and Barthélémy’s son was also stabbed to death 2 years later. During the funeral, two men broke into Barthélémy’s house and the 3 remaining Guérini brothers didn’t accept this insult. They found the two burglars and beat one of them to death. The 3 brothers were arrested for this murder and sentenced to twenty years in jail. It was the end of the Guérini family and the beginning of the end for the French Connection who lost its head.
For this week’s Cocktail Of The Week, we are using the “Cap Corse, Quinquina” from the Mattei Distillery in Corsica; a bittersweet Corsican aperitif mixed with Pinot Noir, fig & cinnamon Bitters and clove syrup. An Old Fashioned French Connexion concoction.

You see, being a police officer is very different from the way the media portrays us. People see cops on tv usually when they do something heroic or something terrible. But a majority of police officers do not get recognized for what they do daily; help people, counsel people, and be available in someone’s worst times. I recognized that making arrests and writing summons was just 5 to 10% of my job. The remaining job was counseling 911 callers by recognizing their problem, advising them what the law is and how I can help them. I enjoyed this part much more than putting someone in jail. “Well, isn’t this what lawyers do?” I thought to myself. The generic answer was yes. I knew the answer was more technical than that, but I decided to do some research and speak to a few people about the profession. After hearing mostly good things, I tapped deeper into my potential and studied for the LSAT late 2013. By the summer of 2014, I committed to Brooklyn Law School’s part time evening program- on a great scholarship. I continued to work full time in the NYPD because like everyone else, I had bills to pay and did not want debt. Now here I am three years later just 8 credits away from graduating- a semester early and debt free! I’ve also been planning my next move. Since I interned at various small/solo firms in law school and I come from a family of immigrant entrepreneurs, I’ve been inspired to start my own firm soon after the February Bar Exam. My goal is to get some experience and have my firm up and running by the middle to end of 2019 focusing on immigration and matrimonial law. I have been actively looking for a mentor to start in the right direction and am beyond excited to begin my journey into the legal profession! Ankit Kapoor JD Candidate Brooklyn Law School

In the words of my 3rd phase Training Officer Tony Rendon, while we are staring at a behemoth of a human that didn't want to go to jail, "Take him to the ground sausage. That's our bread and butter." It's something that still pops in my head when it's time to go hands on with someone that doesn't want to go to jail. He later went on to explain the longer we keep it on our feet, the more of a "boxers chance" the other guy has to knock us out. Close the distance. Once there, keep it tight, make it quick, take em down. I asked him for tips on how to close the distance. His response, "Create an angle and shoot in. If you wanna learn to do that, get your ass into an MMA academy." And I did and it was probably one of the best pieces of advice I have ever received.
My 2 cents on this video, I've been in this position and I'm sure many of you have as well. I cringe a bit. You're there, don't lose that real estate, and take em down.
Hope those Officers are ok, and much respect to them for their willingness to confront this guy.

Michael Boatwright, 22, was the one of the two suspects who approached the rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, and shot him when he was leaving the Riva Motorsports shop in Deerfield Beach, north of Miami on June 18, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.
The suspect was first arrested on drug-related charges on July 5 and served with an arrest warrant on Tuesday for first-degree murder while being held at Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail, the sheriff's office said.

The first arrest in this investigation was made on June 21 when Florida police pulled over Dedrick Williams, 22, and charged him with first-degree murder without premeditation, a probation violation and with failing to have a valid driver's license.

You sat at the huge dining room table with Calum at the head. Your head hung low, picking at the breakfast on your plate while his associates continued their conversation. “The police have fingerprints from the hit men, the dealers from cartels, videos of your employees that all lead their way back to you.” One of his right hand men say to him with exasperation, Hal was the name he went by. “The moles in the police department say they got a solid case.” The other man, Rick chimes in. Cal just huffs and grits his teeth “Now slow down, has anyone agreed to testify?” His pink lips form the words. “Nah boss everyone’s too scared. But they think they might have a way in.” Hal says crossing his arms. “What?” Calum says staring up at him from his chair but follows his eyesight when Hal looks straight at you. “Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.” You mutter and stand up, completely unfazed that the robe you had on just barely covered your modesty in your silk pink slip. “You couldn’t do your job right in the first place? Had to let Calum get caught?” You day loudly to him, pacing the room. You were terrified Calum would get caught and have to serve time in jail. Granted, he had associates there as well, you didn’t want to be separated from him.
Your anger dies down when you realize that Hal and Rick weren’t the problem, they couldn’t stop anything, just deter the inevitable. ~{* story continued in comments *}~

Oldboy
Dir: Park Chan-wook
Because it’s a fucked up revenge flick that twists and turns through a mystery in which you are never sure what’s happening until the startling climax. Park Chan-wook is a master of revenge and he never holds back. His films push limits and embrace the darker elements of life. Before I go any further DO NOT watch the Spike Lee remake before this one. It’s garbage. This film works because its plot is very centered in Korean culture, which made it nearly impossible to replicate coherently as an American film. Now, back to this mean little film. It opens with a drunk being bailed from jail only to be abducted right outside the police station. He is held captive in a single room for 15 years, where he is fed and regularly drugged. His only access to the outside world is a television. Then, one day, he wakes up on a roof and is given the opportunity to hunt down the person who put him in the room for all those years. His journey for vengeance is unflinching, bizarre, and brutal. A man on a mission that might lead him to answers he doesn’t want. It’s ugly but beautifully shot, especially the long take hammer scene. But my favorite is when Dae-su chooses his first meal after being set free. He enters a sushi shop and ravenously eats a live octopus with his bare hands. It is said that Park Chan-wook wanted to portray his impatience for revenge through his insatiable hunger for something still alive. That Dae-is is out to feed on the souls of those who wronged him. Anyway if revenge flicks are your thing and you like being gut punched by endings you will never see coming, this is your movie. #oldboy #10moviesin10days

All of these issues were in fact NON ISSUES. Not one of these aforementioned circumstances posed a threat to anyone other than to the people that the police was called on. Racism isn't something new. The phenomenon is as of late more "in your face" due to the fact that these events are now being recorded. You would have to be really dishonest with yourself to actually believe that by large, the end result of police response yields different results for people of color as opposed to others. There is an obvious intent behind the unnecessary concern when they call, and that is to cause harm and jeopardize a person's safety. Emotionally charged situations like these only need an angry victim who feels they did nothing wrong and a short fused, socially disconnected officer with little patience to mediate the issue and BOOM, a very unfortunate and totally avoidable viral case of injustice happens where someone can get hurt, go to jail or in some circumstances lose their life. There is power and peace of mind in minding your damn business especially in matters that do not alter nor change the course of your life. #ipadpro #cartooning #art #illustration #funny #racism #maga #makeamericagreatagain #bigotry #humor #police #blackamerica #hate #injustice

In 2011, when Egypt was pulsating with post-revolution possibility, I received a @PulitzerCenter grant to report on life far from Cairo’s nerve center. There, in rural Egypt, schools look like penitentiaries. Hospitals and roads are few.

Over the past seven years, in a vain attempt to track how a revolution went terribly wrong, I’ve followed an erstwhile Muslim Brotherhood family there.

Throughout the initial uprising against Mubarak, the family’s eldest son Ahmed (here), was a bright-eyed MB activist. But he soon regarded them as just as bad as the military. Plus, he began flirting with atheism and other things.

After the 2011 uprising, his blog against the military landed him in the notorious Tora prison, where many activists and Islamists are once again locked away.
Throughout Ahmed’s military detention, his family’s devotion to the MB never faltered, even though the org failed to counter the ludicrous charges.

I first met Ahmed’s little brother, Omar, a meek 15-year-old, when Ahmed was still in jail, and the family was campaigning for the MB during the country’s first post-Mubarak elex. Brutally shy, Omar buzzed at the mere mention of the MB. Still, you could tell he was torn. "I'm not sure if I want other people to know," he said walking home past red-stenciled “Free Ahmed” graffiti. "But, sometimes, I think about how things were before the revolution...it was simple, not complicated. We all knew who we were." Seven years later, I’m sitting with Ahmed at a cafe in Istanbul. Three months ago, he was invited to travel to the Netherlands - his first time in the "West." There, at the Hague, he protested against Sisi’s regime and connected with activists. He has no intention of returning to Egypt.
And his brother Omar? He’s nowhere to be found. He ran away from uni after police interrogated him for his MB connections. He checks in with his fam every week, calling from an undisclosed location. Police often detain Omar and Ahmed’s father, seeking info, but no one has any idea where he is. “In Egypt now, it’s better not to know things,” he says, talking to Syrian refugees at my local Syrian restaurant. “I’m now an old man, but I still have hope.”

Bruce Irvin, known then as B.J, was hanging out with the wrong crowd, and it eventually caught up to him. During his junior year, he basically dropped out of school to run the streets.
At 17, he spent a couple of weeks in the DeKalb County Jail for breaking into a house and when he was released, his stepfather told him to pack his bags and get out because he was no longer welcome in his home.
From there, Bruce bounced around from house to house, eventually hooking up with a crew of drug dealers. One day, after playing some video games, he decided to make a run to the local convenience store. When he returned, the entire street was barricaded and the police had the house where he was staying surrounded.
Everyone in there was handcuffed, dragged out and thrown in the back of a squad car. Had Bruce hung around just a little bit longer he would have been one of them, headed for a life in prison.
Watching his guys getting pulled out one by one made him turn around and go in the other direction as far away from that place as he could get. "One of the defining moments in my life," Irvin recalled.

Not knowing what to do next, Bruce remembered a guy who had unsuccessfully tried to get him to try out for the local prep school football team. Irvin eventually hooked up with him on Facebook, and the guy told him that Ware Prep was a place he could go and play. It had dorms and a safe place to sleep - something Irvin hadn't experienced since he was kicked out of his house.
So, in the fall of 2007 Irvin was ready to change his life. He hadn't played football since ninth grade but he was ready to unleash all of his pent-up fury, get a college scholarship and play pro football. "My goal was to get to the NFL," Irvin said. ☠🏈💀♥•

GUYS HELP SOMEONE STOLE MY PHONE AND I THINK IM GONNA CRY😭 My friend and I went to the gym, and then to the grocery store, and then to Starbuck and when we got home my phone was gone😭 I tried calling all those places and no one turned in a missing phone and the weird thing is I called my phone on my friend's phone and it rang the first time, but the 2nd time it went straight to voicemail so I think the person turned it off when they realized I was looking for it. I tried using find my iPhone and it said it was offline and didn't show up on the map... On the bright side my dad's gonna take me to get a new phone tomorrow, and he's gonna take me to file a police report so hopefully we can catch this asshole and throw him in jail... I know it's probably not that likely... But it's a hope... I locked my phone and canceled the service so I think I'm safe and stuff but i'm still really pissed off.

Just before 7:30 p.m., Richard Smith was involved in a drug deal in the 15500 block of Dwyer Road with Nguyen and his friend, according to Smith's warrant. According to the warrant, the two victims only knew Smith by the name "Re." Investigators said Nguyen was in the front passenger seat of his friend's car, who was driving. The warrant states during the deal, Smith reached into the victims' car, snatched a "small amount of marijuana," and ran back towards his car, which police described as a gray sedan.
Another man then got out of Smith's car and started shooting at Nguyen and his friend, striking Nguyen more than once, at least once in the head. Smith and the other man fled the scene on foot, according to the warrant, and Nguyen's friend drove them to the 4900 block of Bergerec Street, where Nguyen was later pronounced dead.
According to the warrant, when police went to the 15500 block of Dwyer Road, a gray Nissan Altima was parked near where the driver said Nguyen was shot. The keys were still in the ignition and the car was still running, according to the warrant.

On Monday, Smith reported the Nissan was stolen, according to the warrant. The next day, Nguyen's friend was shown a photo of Smith in a six-person lineup, from which he identified Smith as Re, who he said is one of the two men who shot at him and Nguyen.
Smith was booked into Orleans Justice Center jail Tuesday on one count of second-degree murder. He appeared in court the next day, where Orleans Parish Magistrate Judge Harry Cantrell set his bond for $350,000 and assigned a public defender to his case, according to court records.

Court records show Smith pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana charges in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, he was sentenced to serve 18 years with the state's Department of Corrections. In February 2013, Smith pleaded guilty to one count each of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to distribu

Two medical students, Gautam Sudarshan and Ashish Pal, in Chennai have recently been bailed out of jail after throwing a dog, Bhadra, off a rooftop. They filmed the whole thing and posted it online and when questioned by the police, the students said they did this "just for fun". Bhadra was later found by animal activists to be alive, but injured. Mr. Krishnan, the animal activist who found Bhadra wrote, “Good news - The dog has been found alive. She is not able to walk properly. She is with us now. Will be under treatment. What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail". The students were fined 10 and 50 rupees and basically served no jail time for their actions. Clearly, the animal welfare laws in India are weak and ineffective. Firstly, the 1960 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, which states that it is a punishable offense (in this case a fine of 10-50 rupees) for anyone "to beat, kick, over-ride, over-drive, over-load, torture or otherwise treat any animal (this includes the animals on the streets) so as to subject it to unnecessary pain or suffering or causes, or being the owner permits, any animal to be so treated" is outdated. A minority of the population is even aware of this act. Secondly, these laws are not taken seriously by both the citizens who are aware of it and the authorities and hence why incidents like these keep occurring in India. (Photo of Bhadra by Arun Sankar found on an online article)

This is a microcosm of what happens , the other police knows that his fellow officer in violation of everything good police works stands for yet he is conflicted because he does not want to break the code . He opts not to stop him . This happens to be on film, think of how many times it has not been .
Law Enforcement can never question the code of silence in the underworld until they lead by example .
His partner should have stopped this assault on a citizen, he failed to protect and serve the community . As for the officer that went on the power trip and lost all control he should be fired and charged with assault . But before that he should be put in general population in Baltimore City Jail and let us see all that tough guy shit when the playing field is level . That guy he victimized obviously respected the badge enough to not protect himself .
That’s the part people seem to miss , black people actually respect the badge . You have killed us enough yet you still want more . You want to literally destroy us , the shit is unbearable to the sound mind .
When people radicalize please be accountable as their creators ... you birthed them , claim your children .

In Warren, Michigan, cruelty charges were filed on Wednesday against a man accused of power washing his two German shepherds at the Wash Stop car wash. The 49-year-old man has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty for using a high pressure wand on the two dogs.

Car wash owner, Nicole Gatto Ross was horrified by what she witnessed and immediately called the police, describing the soap had covered the dogs from head to tail including their eyes. The soap contains chemicals that is meant to get “bugs and gunk” off cars while the temperature of the water can exceed 110 degrees with a pressure of 1,200 PSI.

When police arrived, the two dogs were covered in the soap, and a security video showed the man had used the high powered wand on both dogs to rinse them. The owner of the dogs indicated both dogs had been covered in feces that had become matted in their coats. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the dogs had not suffered any serious injuries.

According to the MacombDaily Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer stated the dog owner is very remorseful and has volunteered to give the dogs to a new owner he wants to choose. His name has not been made public pending a court arraignment. If found guilty of both charges, the suspect could be sentenced to 90 days in jail, $500 fine or both.

Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller has reportedly been arrested following a drunk driving incident this morning.

According to TMZ, Mac was out driving with his friends in the San Fernando Valley around 1 AM this morning, when he crashed his Mercedes G-Wagon into a power pole, knocking it on to the ground. Mac and two of his passengers reportedly fled the scene on foot, but an eyewitness who saw the accident called the cops and told them which direction Mac and his boys ran off.

When police arrived at the scene, they ran the plates on Mac’s car, which led them to his address. They promptly arrested him, and took him to jail, where he had a bail set at $15K. According to sources, Mac was still locked up at the time the article was published.

There appears to be a trend of rappers getting arrested while intoxicated this week, as T.I. was also locked up yesterday. That being said, a hit-and-run while drunk driving are serious offences, and Mac could be finding himself in some serious legal trouble. Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident, and the police admitted that Mac was “the most polite and nice intoxicated person we’ve ever seen,” which might work somewhat in his favor.

It seems that maybe Mac is taking his recent break up with his long-time girlfriend, Ariana Grande, a bit harder than we anticipated. That, or he was just being extremely irresponsible.

A total of six people have been arrested so far, and Mark is still locked-down. We need your help right now to support Mark and to support those who have already been arrested.

The Bayou Bridge Pipeline would connect to the Dakota Access Pipeline system to bring oil from North Dakota to export terminals in Louisiana.
.
The pipeline would cut through the Atchafalaya Basin and St. James, a community of color already inundated with toxic fossil fuel infrastructure. A court ruled that Energy Transfer Partners must stop work near St. James and provide the community with an evacuation route. But ETP has ignored the court order and is continuing construction.

In 2016, I failed a drug test for methamphetamine and marijuana in Russellville when I was tested for an EPO violation. I was ordered to go back to court, but I didn’t go, I ran instead. My wife and I split up, and while she was gone, I broke into her uncle’s house to talk to her. She called the police.

On December 6, 2016, I asked God to do something. It was pouring rain, and I was running from the law. I knew I couldn’t do anything. At 10pm I got arrested and went to jail. During this time, I started reading the Bible. The more I read it, the more I understood who God is. I spent ten months in jail, and they were the best ten months of my life.

Purse stolen, cards, IDs, and more in a state I’ve never even set foot in before yesterday. I’m gonna do a vlog but here a few more things that happened after that. Once an employee at @hertz stole my purse. I asked to see the cameras. They then had me wait 40 minutes and came out to tell me they were “FROZEN” my lyft driver (I was leaving) sat with me as long as she could. (She’ll come back up again later -CJ) once the police came he made a “Ive seen you before” comment i said yes well I have many followers. He said no in my line of work. First of all, I’ve never set foot in Houston. Never been to jail. Don’t have a criminal record AT ALL. @hyatt Hotel....wouldn’t let me in with no ID or cards even tho I had a picture of my ID and cash to pay for my hotel AND A POLICE REPORT. So I am in over my head at this point. I don’t have anywhere to stay no hotels accept cash app cards and that’s all I have left. No ID to get MONEY out my account. Nothing. So I tweet and thank god for social media someone came and picked me up and let me stay in her student apartment empty room. #Angel1
So I’m flying to Houston simply to sign my lease fly back and move I’m Tuesday (tomorrow) my realtor set up 15 viewings and when I pulled up to the first one with all my luggage. She looked me up and down. I pulled out my police report and told her I had my belongings stolen so I didn’t have an ID but I had a Picture, bank statements and I was moving in next day. She told me “nobody is going to even let you see an apartment without your id you might as well give up” this lady clearly don’t know me so I let it be. I left got back in the lyft I called and he drove me to another place no charge. #Angel3 when I arrived at the next building I said outloud YOU WILL GET THIS ONE. 3x aloud. While I was filling out my application I met #Angel4 Ms. Pat or Auntie as I call her now 😂 she was just talking to me and I was telling her what happened and she let me put all my bags in her place while I went to a gas station and got whatever cash I could off my cash app $250 was the limit. The Application fee was $260 and I cash app Ms. Pat the rest! No more space TBC.....

LINK to gofund IS IN MY BIO- This video is graphic and shows just how the police treat blacks in America. When you know your rights and as many people say follow the law. They will find other ways to attAck you. They do not like an educated black person. Don’t forget what they did to SANDRA BLAND for knowing her right. Don’t forget what they did to PHILANDO CASTILE who was a licensed gun owner. This is what I know about what happened - We had guns drawn on us on our Monday by the police department based off a lie. They couldn’t arrest anyone then and now, days later, they came to my home because they said they got a phone call and assaulted my husband. They snatched him from the doorway and assaulted him. They told him to stop resisting but it’s hard to resist when the police have their knees on your back and neck. They did not have warrant or permission to enter our home, they barged their way in and began their terrifying assault even me. Because they said my husband was resisting arrest and “obstructing Justice” they were able to book him into jail and take him in. They put him on a $5000 dollar bond. ---------------------------------------------------- I can’t believe people are still watching and supporting the #NFL . I am #BoycottTheNFL period... Time heals all wounds. But not this one. Not yet. I am still healing from abuse. Today marks an exceptionally brave day for me, 8 years ago I went to jail after being in a domestic violence altercation. My ex boyfriend locked me in my apartment without clothing, contacts or glasses, and he physically and sexually abused me over a period of 6 hrs. He bound my hands behind my back, spat in my face, and beat me. I had open wounds on my back, butt and thighs from the ring he wore. These marks were the only thing separating the he said she said when I was questioned by the police. Presidents Day was not the first time he put his hands on me, but I promised myself that it would be the last, because I believed the next time would probably cost me my life. I begged for him to stop, told him I would do anything. I convinced him to let me use the bathroom and I put on the clothes that were on the floor, hid an old pair of contacts in my mouth, and climbed out the window. Using the mirror of my neighbors van I put in my contacts and started walking down the street barefoot. Someone had already called the police, thank you, I am eternally indebted to whoever that was. My ex was then taken to jail and charged with domestic violence, and attempted kidnapping.
Over the course of our relationship I confided the abuse to a few friends who encouraged me to leave him. I was weak, without a job, I had failed out of school, and my friends drifted away. I did not believe that life outside of this relationship would be better or possible. Later those same friends would tell me how worried they were about me, and I wish I had known of their concern then. Maybe I wouldn’t have felt so crazy. Eight years later I am still struggling with intimate relationships. I have dedicated a lot of time to taking care of myself and have become tremendously closed off to others, selfish even. I share this not for pity, but to show that domestic violence can happen to even the most put together individual. Breaking the silence is the only way to break the cycle. For 2 yrs I was abused by this man and those yrs of feeling worthless I will never get back. I have overcome an enormous amount of shame.

The warrant charging Kline Lee, 51, with second-degree murder claims he fatally shot the 34-year-old in the face and also shot and wounded the woman with whom Watkins was walking. New Orleans police said at the time the wounded 30-year-old woman had been shot in the finger. Lee also faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder related to the woman's injuries.

Lee was booked with the murder charge Thursday, though Orleans Justice Center jail records state he had been jailed since July 26 after he was picked on theft, and possession of stolen things charges, in addition to a parole violation.
Several minutes before the fatal shooting, a witness told police, Lee and Watkins had gotten in "an altercation" a few blocks away, on South Claiborne Avenue, according to the warrant. Lee owed Watkins money, the witness who saw the fight said, and it ended with Watkins taking Lee's bicycle from him "in lieu of owed money." At one point during the fight, the witness said, Lee armed himself with a pipe.

When police found Watkins lying dead in the 3600 block of South Roman Street, he was next to a bicycle – the same bike, the witness said, that he had just taken from Lee, according to the warrant. New Orleans police also found a hat "from the exact location" where surveillance video showed the shooter hid before opening fire on Watkins and the woman.

DNA analysis on the hat that was left at the crime scene proved a match to Kline, who the warrant states had a history of "arrest and incidents" in the "surrounding neighborhoods," the warrant states.
The witness to the fights between Watkins and a man the witness only knew as "Kline" picked Lee out of a photographic lineup, identifying him as the person who fought with Watkins prior to the shooting, the warrant states.

(WNCN) - A Garner woman is charged with animal cruelty after tying a puppy to a truck and driving around in a Selma parking lot until it was dead earlier this month, according to Selma police.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on July 5 at the Knights Inn at 100 Graham Street, police said.

In the incident report, police said witnesses at the motel described #GloriaMitchell dragging the puppy with a pickup truck even after people tried to get her to stop.

The police report says "there was a lot of screaming in the background" when a 911 call was made.

Then when police and EMS arrived, Mitchell, 45, acted "hostile and aggressive," according to the report.
Mitchell had a blood-alcohol level of .347, according to the police report. "She couldn't even walk. She was stumbling everywhere," said witness Vikki Latner.

Police noted in the report that Mitchell "had a very strong odor of alcohol coming from her person as I was able to smell it from several feet away." According to police, the dog leash was attached "to the front of her truck" when the woman drove off.

Police said after the dog died, the suspect crashed her truck into at least one U-Haul moving van. "Whether it's a puppy, a bird, a child — it's a life. Why?," Latner asked.

The report said Mitchell was charged with communicating threats for what she said to police and EMS workers.
Police obtained video of the incident and said in the report they could see the puppy being dragged.

Mitchell, of the 100 block of Long Drive in Garner, was booked in the Johnston County Jail.

She's scheduled to next appear in court later this month.

#OfficerJosephMeyer, 42, was arrested and charged with 6 counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child between 12 and 16 years old, and 1 count of molestation of a child under 12, reported WESH.

According to the victim, Meyer would climb into her bed, cuddle with her, and grope her breasts under her shirt.

Oviedo Police Chief Dale Coleman says the accused child molester’s actions do not represent the ethics of the #policedepartment. “I know the public trust is easily lost and I just want people to be rest assured that the #OviedoPolicedepartment takes its mission very, very seriously and that we want people to know we don’t condone this at all and that we stand by the full and complete investigation and wherever it leads, we will stand behind.” Authorities do not believe he had any other victims.

Meyer, a 15-year veteran of the Oviedo Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending results of an investigation.

He is being held without bail at the Seminole County Jail, and his arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 25.

Yesterday i was moved to share certain parts of my past experiences. The responses i got spurred me to reveal that i have an autobiography coming. In that message i mentioned how i have been to jail and gone through abuse.
Curiosity is high around me. So Let me clarify two things:
The jail experience was more like been put in a cell in a Police Station behind my house not Kirikiri oooo lol for a few minutes but the police had me sleep on the counter overnight at 14 years which is not appropriate. I was underage but didn't have a man or dad to stand for me. My mum tried.
Why did this happen? My friend was missing and the parents claimed I knew where she was because she always claimed she was coming to my house whenever she left home then passes through my house when she came back so i excort her home. I had no idea. It looked like i was always out with her. After being missing for days, When she re-sufficed I had been held unfairly already. She however informed all that I didn't know her whereabouts. Means i had been held and traumatised unjustly. My mum and family went through so much. It's also the injustice in the way cases are sometimes handled in this Country. There was no evidence but i was held because i was too young to know my rights. Thank God things are different now with the Nigerian Police.
Please listen to this song by Rugged Man about how our relationship should be with the Nigerian Police. Find the link next:
Ruggedman finally releases the video for his song about Nigerian police. You need to watch and spread this video. It is not just a music video, it is a movement. It's meant to help the Citizens and the police understand each other better.

You used to be able to stick your fingers in the bullet holes in the alley wall of the Biograph where Dillinger was gunned down by the FBI, but when they renovated the Biograph, they bricked up the alley. Something I always forget is that although he was a notorious gangster, who robbed over 20 banks and four police stations, and escaped jail twice, Dillinger was never convicted of murdering anyone.

John Dillinger rests in Crown Hills Cemetery, Indianapolis.

1 year ago today, a white driver with cocaine and alcohol in his system killed my brother—a Pedestrian and a Devoted Father—on a Philadelphia Highway. The driver, who we know has driven under the influence before, has yet to spend one day in jail and we would like to know why.
On June 25, 2017, four days before his only daughter’s 8th birthday, my brother, Phillip Benaiah West, left his kids with their grandmother to pick their mother up from work in West Philadelphia. They were on their way home on Interstate 676 when the hood of his truck, a Chevy Tahoe, suddenly flew open. His vision obscured, he put on his emergency hazard lights and pulled over as far to the right as he could. Phillip, a former ambulance and tow truck driver, stepped out of the car and walked around to the front of the truck to close the hood.
It was 4:45 a.m.

Meanwhile, according to his medical records and the police, 24-year-old Christopher Nevatt, of suburban Philadelphia, high on a cocktail of cocaine and alcohol, sped down Interstate 676 in a small 2004 Saab and smashed into the back of Phillip’s truck while he was standing in front of it closing the hood.
The impact from the tiny car was so hard that it spun the massive truck around clockwise.
Nevatt hit my brother’s car so hard it threw Phillip several feet in the air. Yet, Phillip did not die instantly. He bled profusely. People passing by stopped, took off their shirts and pressed them to his fractured skull, they begged my brother to keep his eyes open. Phillip was scared and knew he was dying. He struggled to breathe. Tears streamed down his face.

My little brother died from blunt force trauma on his way to the hospital.
First responders told us it was apparent that Nevatt “was high on something.” Even more alarming, they told us, Nevatt’s probation for a previous DUI had just ended weeks before he killed my brother. Keep in mind, Phillip was a Pedestrian, standing outside a disabled vehicle with the hazard lights on.

Yesterday, ETP used their pipe barges to bring a cherry picker to the site of the aerial blockade in the Atchafalaya Basin in which a person was sitting in a 40+ ft high platform attached by a life-line to the Bayou Bridge Pipeline itself. The sitter climbed higher in a tree to escape the reach of the cherry picker. Police and workers responded by cutting down the life-lines and letting the platform fall, leaving the sitter stuck at the top of the tree. Following direct orders from an ETP supervisor, police cut the ropes to their supply buckets, leaving them without any food or water. Cops stood at the base of the tree and taunted the water protector for hours, taunting and making personal threats.

The police did not have any plan to get the person out of the tree safely. They had no evacuation plan or medical personnel onsite or even nearby.

When the water protector climbed down on their own, they were tasered, handcuffed, and forced to lie face-down in the bucket of an excavator. Police refused to let them retrieve their boots and forced them to walk barefoot across the construction site for nearly a mile. After waiting for a police boat to arrive, they were taken to the edge of the basin, transferred to a police vehicle, and then caged at the St. Martinsville Parish Jail. They were bruised and bloodstained from being tased.

The water protector was on private land the entire time with written permission from the owner, who also has NOT given ETP permission to be there, nor has ETP seized the land legally through eminent domain.

Please call ALL these folks and tell them how that makes you feel. Thank you to everyone who already called the Sheriff's Office yesterday - today we will make ourselves heard throughout the local government and with their apparent bosses, Energy Transfer Partners.

A longtime Montgomery County bus driver fondled a 12-year-old special needs student while the bus was stopped, detectives said in court records filed Monday, describing a case they put together in part after seeing a drawing the girl sketched after the alleged assault. “Victim A then drew a picture of her and her bus driver,” the detectives wrote. “And in this picture, Victim A’s drawing of herself has tears coming from her eyes, and she stated that she was crying.” The suspect, Etienne K. Kabongo, 62, of Gaithersburg, was arrested Sunday and charged with sex abuse of a minor, second-degree rape and third-degree sex offense. “Words cannot convey my anger, disgust and disappointment in the alleged behavior of Mr. Kabongo,” Jack Smith, superintendent of Montgomery public schools, said in an announcement on the school system’s website. “Abusing a position of trust and authority to take advantage of the most vulnerable among us is despicable.” Known to some students as “Mr. Steve,” Kabongo had worked for the school system since 2006 and primarily drove students receiving special education services, Smith said. Kabongo has been placed on leave.

In court Monday, Montgomery County Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Haynos said that Kabongo was a flight risk and that he therefore should not be given bond, according to a state’s attorney spokesman. Kabongo had airline tickets and was scheduled to fly from Newark to Ethiopia on Tuesday, Haynos told the judge.

Kabongo was ordered held in jail without bond, according to court records. Online court records did not indicate whether he had an attorney. Members of his family could not be reached to comment.

Police officials said the incident happened about 12:30 p.m. on July 31. Kabongo had been driving students receiving special education services when the bus stopped in the area of Yates Road in Silver Spring. The school bus attendant left the vehicle to help drop off another student, police said. Kabongo walked toward the 12-year-old. She was seated by herself and Kabongo sat next to her and molested her, police allege.

A camera on the bus captured the assault, police said.

TURMAKHAND, Nepal — Not long ago, in rural western Nepal, Gauri Kumari Bayak was the spark of her village. Her strong voice echoed across the fields as she husked corn. When she walked down the road at a brisk clip, off to lead classes on birth control, many admired her self-confidence.
But last January, Ms. Bayak’s lifeless body was carried up the hill, a stream of mourners bawling behind her. Her remains were burned, her dresses given away. The little hut where she was pressured to sequester herself during her menstrual period — and where she died — was smashed apart, erasing the last mark of another young life lost to a deadly superstition.
“I still can’t believe she’s not alive,” said Dambar Budha, her father-in-law, full of regret, sitting on a rock, staring off into the hills.
In this corner of Nepal, deep in the Himalayas, women are banished from their homes every month when they get their period. They are considered polluted, even toxic, and an oppressive regime has evolved around this taboo, including the construction of a separate hut for menstruating women to sleep in. Some of the spaces are as tiny as a closet, walls made of mud or rock, basically menstruation foxholes. Ms. Bayak died from smoke inhalation in hers as she tried to keep warm by a small fire in the bitter Himalayan winter. Each year, at least one woman or girl — often more — dies in these huts, from exposure to the cold, smoke inhalation or attacks by animals. Just this June, another young woman was found dead in a menstruation hut, bitten by a snake. Her family tried to cover up the death, the police said, by destroying the hut and quickly burying her body, but the authorities exhumed it and are investigating what happened.
The practice is called chhaupadi (pronounced CHOW-pa-dee), from Nepali words that mean someone who bears an impurity, and it has been going on for hundreds of years. But now, the Nepali government and advocates for women are trying to end it. Starting in August, for the first time, it will be a crime to force a menstruating woman into seclusion, punishable by up to three months in jail, though it’s not clear if that’s going to make a dent in the tradition. #news

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Gloria's kids were at their school Friday, about to get out for the day, and ex-husband Matt Barnes was scheduled to pick them up. We're told according to their child custody agreement, Matt had custody for the long, Labor Day weekend.

Our sources say at 2:55 PM -- 5 minutes before school let out -- Gloria arrived to get the twin boys. She got the children in her car and that's when Matt showed up and told her it was his weekend for the kids.

Matt told the kids to get out of Gloria's car and into his. It appears the kids followed Matt's instructions, because we're told Gloria then flew into a rage, tried to follow Matt's car, screaming and cussing. Our sources say she then blocked Matt's car with the kids inside, and that's when someone called 911.

Gloria was arrested for child endangerment and also violating a court order. After police took Gloria to jail, they let Matt take the kids after he showed them paperwork he had custody this weekend.

Govan was released after posting $100,000 bail. Via: @tmz_tv"

#reggae’s justice-driven #rastafari icons like #bobmarley would have us Americans thinking Jamaica’s policies would reflect their canna-friendly culture. In fact, it’s taken decades for the #Caribbean island’s government to finally legalize even just medically. The Rastafarian faith regards maryjane as a sacrament. Smoking it is a religious rite, harkening back to the notion that the plant was alleged to have grown on the grave of King Solomon.

Just as a person eats when they’re hungry and drinks when they’re thirsty, they smoke mary when they want to nourish their souls, says Ras IyahV. “It helps connect you with your inner being, the God being. It helps us meditate and dig deep into our souls to find answers to questions that you’re not normally exposed to, but because we have it as a sacrament, we automatically became a focus, a target of the state and a lot of brutality.” Historically the Jamaican government’s attitude toward maryjane has been hostile, targeting Rastas in particular, even though they comprise less than one percent of the population. Prohibition in Jamaica had been a tool to incarcerate and dehumanize Rastas, giving law enforcement reason to cut their dreads off in the middle of the street and systematically discriminate against them.

During the Coral Gardens Massacre of 1963, the government went on an anti-Rasta rampage, throwing more than 400 people in jail. After the incident, now known as Bad Friday, the government instituted mandatory minimum sentences for possession of even the smallest quantities. Until 2015 when Jamaica decriminalized possession up to 2 oz as a now ticketable infraction, maryjane offenders risked prison for life, locked up for “crimes” as simple as holding a spliff. Young men in less affluent areas would often come into contact with police over maryjane, smearing their records and compromising their futures.

Gynnalyn "Leileng" Soriano one year after her brother was executed as part of President Duterte's war on drugs.
Ginnalyn is now in a stable relationship with a pedi-rickshaw driver. She described what happened that night. Her brother Julius sometimes used but did not deal "shabu" (Methampetamine). Ginnalyn says she had a premonition that something would happen to her brother, who was taking care of the family being a key breadwinner.

Julius had been drinking in the street with friends and left at about 8pm.
Julius went to meet a shabu dealer in a dark cemetery nearby. The dealer was not there but the police were waiting for the dealer in the cemetery when Julius happened by. The police beat him up. Then he was dragged to a nearby residential alleyway - the neighborhood is a maze of alleyways.
Ginnalyn heard gunshots some time after 8 pm and she was told to go to "Tomboc's house". In her gut, she knew it was Julius who was shot. She found him dead there. Neighbors said that police shouted out to turn out all their house lights or be implicated in Julius's crime. They saw police punching Julius before he pleaded, "I have no boss. Just ring me to jail". He begged for help but no one came to his aid before he was executed.

Former Michigan State University women's gymnastics coach Kathie Klages has turned herself into Lansing police Thursday morning, Aug. 30, 2018, to be arrested on two charges of lying to a peace officer. Klages was charged as part of an ongoing investigation into the university following former MSU doctor Larry Nassar's guilty plea to several counts of criminal sexual conduct and federal child pornography charges. Investigators say Klages lied when she denied knowing anything about Nassar during the ongoing investigation. Some of Nassar's victims said they told Klages about the abuse they sustained during medical sessions with Nassar, and that Klages downplayed their concerns. She was arraigned by Lansing 54-A District Court Judge Louise Alderson. Klages said little during the hearing, saying "yes" to acknowledge the charges and her rights in response to Alderson's questions. When asked whether she was employed, Klages said, "I'm retired." The arraignment was conducted via video, with Klages and her attorney calling in from the Lansing Police Department jail. Great working alongside @laurgib as she continues to cover these cases as they unfold. #lansing #michigan #larrynassar #nassar #msu #michiganstate #court #latergram #mlive

A 26-year-old #Pontiac woman is under investigation for severely burning her 1-year-old son with scalding water. The child is still in critical, but stable condition at this time while his mother, Carmen Ann Smith-Portee, was arrested after admitting to doing it on purpose. The incident happened on May 19 when the child was treated for burns to his arm, back and forehead by EMS workers responding to the incident in the 100 block of Apple Lane. The victim was initially transported to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was referred to the Detroit Children's Hospital's Burn Unit for further medical treatment. The mother of three originally told police that she had run hot water in the bathtub but left the boy in a separate room while she gathered cleaning supplied. When Portee returned to the bathroom, she said the victim was burned and screaming. But Portee later admitted to police that she placed the child in the bathtub's scalding hot water because she was frustrated with him.  A warrant was issued for child abuse and she was arrested for child abuse and is being held in the Oakland County Jail. A Child Protective Services referral was completed and forwarded. On May 25, 2018 Carmen Ann Smith-Portee was arraigned in Pontiac court and given a $100,000.00 bond. Her next court date is June 7, 2018 at 1:30. #Fox2Detroit #CrimeInTheD

〰️
Here’s a few fun facts about me that shows I’m just as human as yourself 😅
〰️
1. My very first car I bought, when I turned 18, was a brand new Kia Picanto in red. I zoomed around in it everywhere and I literally thought I was the coolest thing going around 🚗
〰️
2. When I was 7, I accidentally walked out of the supermarket with a watermelon under my arm & forgot to pay for it. I spent a good few weeks having anxiety, thinking the police would hunt me down and put me in jail because of it 🍉
〰️
3. When I was 6, my favourite outfit to wear was a pair of Lime-green Levis paired back with a bright orange fuzzy jumper and pink socks. Oh, and let’s not forget my bowl-haircut I rocked with the outfit 🤦🏼‍♀️
〰️
4. I have 10 tattoos and a nose-ring. I got my belly-button pierced when I was 16, but I lost the ring about a year ago, and haven’t bothered putting one back in again ☺️
〰️
5. There are 10 seasons and 236 episodes of FRIENDS and I have seen every single one - 15 times 📺
〰️
7. My Birthday is on 19th of October which is Autumn in Denmark. I always hated not being able to have my birthday outside when I was little, because it would be so cold and rainy. Then I just moved to the other side of the world, and now it’s always sunny and HOT on my Birthday. Win/Win 🎂
〰️
8. When I was little, I used to bite the heads off all my older sisters Barbie-dolls, read her diary and eat her stashed candy.. Just because I was evil. She repaid me by stuffing me in her pram and pretending I was her baby, and do the old trick of; ’I’ll time you’ just so I’d get her something she needed when she couldn’t be bothered getting it herself 😏
〰️
9. I used to bite my nails for years, until I became an adult. I briefly stopped when I was 12, because dad promised me $100 bucks if I stopped biting them before I was confirmed.. Needless to say; I’m competitive & KA-CHING!💵
〰️
10. The person I look up to the most and hope I come to resemble, is my dad. No matter what happens in life, his glass if always half full instead of half empty 👨‍👧
〰️
11. I only just recently discovered that the logo for SPRITE is actually half lemon, half lime.. MIND.BLOWN 🍋🤯

For the rest of the day today, I am going to dedicate my Instagram to telling you a story. In a few moments, I will cross 500,00 followers and planned to do something special for you all, but I thought it wouldn’t come until next month. So I want to dedicate today, and this moment, to Jeffrey and Neomi. This is a video of Jeff’s beautiful proposal to Neomi. I want you to watch it. Soak in the joy and bliss. Watch as Jeff’s kids and family celebrate. It’s a storybook moment.
THEN I want you to understand that the Philadelphia Police just shot Jeff in the neck and face and killed him. He was unarmed & non-violent. Our team has now seen the video. Police refuse to release it, but we saw it. Police lied about Jeff. He posed no threat at all. We spoke to witnesses. Armed cops in unmarked cars, not in uniform, swarmed Jeff’s car in the middle of the day. Witnesses, everyday people with no connection to this case, told us they thought Jeff was being robbed by a gang. That’s what he thought too. He was clearly scared to death. After one cop rushed Jeff’s car and broke with window with a metal pole, another cop unloaded his gun right into Jeff’s car. Jeff NEVER hit anyone with his car. We saw the video. That was a lie. When the officer shot him the car was stopped. We are now demanding that prosecutors charge this cop. But let me tell you more about Jeff. A great man was stolen from us.... My hero is Malcolm X, and well before he did anything to become my hero, he lived a life of crime, forcing young women into prostitution, robbing stealing, and even almost killing a police officer. His nickname in jail was SATAN, he was in his 20’s and he didn’t know how to read. Once in jail he heard some inspiring words and dedicated his time to studying the dictionary to learn how to read. That choice transformed him into one of the most important humans in civil rights history, and one of the main reasons I am the person I am today. Open minded means you have devote energy to understanding people instead of judging them, and that’s not easy, that’s why you’ll still see comments on this post about my choice of using Louis C.K, and that’s okay. I’m very interested in how his most recent mistakes are reconciled and who he becomes as a result of learning from them. He may become a better man, he may become worse, I can’t predict, but his point that our mistakes are a part of who we are still maintains. Don’t hold the past against people, especially if you can clearly see them trying to grow from it. We only learn when mistakes are made, success is a lousy teacher. Abandon basic-ass mindsets like good & bad, life has never been that black & white, we all exist in the grey. If we can’t allow others to grow from their mistakes, then we’re doomed when we make our own. So many of you reading this are still haunted by your regrets of past mistakes, and I’m here to encourage you to let them go. HOW DO I LET GO OF THEM HUMBLE? Well my all-caps handsome friends, find the lesson in the mistake, the mistake is no longer a mistake, it’s a gift. If Malcom Little can go from Detroit Red to Satan to Malcom X to Al Hajj Malik Shabazz, you can go from young knuckle head, to something better. Forgive yourself, and forgive others, let that shit go, let’s grow. #BLESS

The bulk of a Texas police department has been wiped out by a series of grand jury indictments. The Llano Police Department had just nine employees, nearly two-thirds of whom have now been indicted for misconduct and abuse of power.

The central incident took place in May 2017, when a body camera captured footage of resident Cory Nutt confrontation with Police Chief Kevin Ratliff and Officers Grant Harden, Jared Latta, and Aimee Shannon.

Nutt yelled at Harden for speeding in the neighborhood late at night. The four approached Nutt at his home and asked him to step outside to speak with them. Nutt refused and asked why the officers wanted him outside. Rather than present any kind of warrant, the cops accused him of public drunkenness. They spent several minutes threatening to call Nutt's supervisor and have him fired from his job, and they also pointed a taser towards Nutt, switching between his crotch and his abdomen, and threatened to deploy it should he not comply. He said "Please don't" and walked outside, where he was then arrested and taken to jail. #llanopolice #llanopolicedepartment #llanotexas #corruption #policemisconduct #policebrutality #abuseofpower #grandjuryindictment #bodycamfootage

Carmouche, ... #nolaprimenews After two of his murder trials ended with deadlocked juries, 25-year-old Demonte Carmouche pleaded guilty Tuesday (Aug. 28) to manslaughter in a 2012 fatal shooting, according to Orleans Parish court records. Tuesday was to be the start of his third trial.

Carmouche, known as "D-Man," was 19 when authorities say he shot 19-year-old Terrance Lewis in the 1400 block of Bienville Street, in the former Iberville housing development.

According to prosecutors, Lewis was gunned down outside of his grandmother's home as part of a violent, ongoing neighborhood feud between Lewis and Carmouche's co-defendant in the case, Aldred "Al" Dixon.

When the shooting occurred, Lewis had a cousin in jail as a suspect in the November 2011 murder of Dixon's brother, Alfred "Nuck Jr." Dixon, said DA's spokesman Ken Daley. Two weeks before Lewis was killed, his younger brother had been in a fistfight with Aldred Dixon, Daley said in a news release.

Police were patrolling the neighborhood the night of July 8, 2012, when they heard gunfire and found the wounded Lewis lying in the street, according to a July 24, 2012 article in The Times-Picayune. Surveillance footage was used to identify Dixon and Carmouche as suspects, police said at the time.

The two initially went to trial in April 2015 on the second-degree murder charges, but a mistrial was declared after the jury could not reach verdicts on Carmouche or Aldred "Al" Dixon, court records show.

In the pair's second trial in September 2017, jurors again deadlocked on whether Carmouche was guilty, but decided to convict Dixon of second-degree murder.

Dixon, now 23, was sentenced last fall to life in prison.

Carmouche faces up to 40 years in prison when sentenced Sept. 6 by Orleans Criminal District Judge Ben Willard. "This defendant finally chose to admit his guilt, rather than risk the same life sentence already imposed on his co-defendant in this crime," DA Leon Cannizzaro said in a news release, which noted that Assistant DAs Jason Napoli and Darius Greene prosecuted the case. "I think everyone involved thought this was the best way to conclude this matter," said attorney Gregory Carter, who, along with attorne

There were bras and panties everywhere. I looked left panties. Looked right, Bras and panties. What had I done? In my weakened state I dragged myself around the Vegas penthouse suite I woke up in. Every nook. Every cranny. I found some sort of bra and panty. The giant penthouse is vacant. It’s only me. Where was my mind last night? I recall a time when I was a boy I would wake up at the bottom of a swimming pool with concrete blocks tied to my feet. The police would always drag me out before I would drowned. But eventually my neighbor that used to stand outside of my window naked went to jail for some reason. I wasn’t sure why? He always lead the police to where I was drowning. But after he went to jail the drowning stopped. Any way back to the panties and bras. I had to do a check for my health. I needed to examine fully. I went into the bathroom and scanned up and down. Looking for anything weird or out of place. I couldn’t believe it... my singer sewing machine made it through the night. I must have sewn 2,000 pairs of bras and panties.

A white #Dallas police officer who shot and killed a black man in his apartment after she mistook it for her own has been arrested and charged with #manslaughter, authorities said Sunday.
:

Officer #AmberGuyger, 30, was booked into the #Kaufman County Jail Sunday evening after #TexasRangers arrested her in connection with the shooting of 26-year-old #BothamJean.
:

Investigators say that #Guyger, a four-year veteran of the #DallasPolice Department, shot Jean at around 10 p.m. Thursday, when she returned to her apartment building in the South Side Flats following her shift. She reported the shooting to dispatchers and she told officers who responded that she had mistaken Jean's apartment for her own.
:

Members of Jean's family questioned Guyger's explanation for the shooting and claimed that the fact she had remained free days after the shooting showed she was receiving favorable treatment.
: "If it was a white man, would it have been different?" Jean's mother #Allison asked Friday. "Would she have reacted differently?"
:

Dallas #Police Chief U. Renee Hall said the officer's blood was drawn at the scene so that it could be tested for alcohol and drugs. Investigators haven't released the results of those tests.
:

It has since been revealed that Guyger shot another man, #UvaldoPerez, while on duty in May 2017.
:

According to an #affidavit in the case filed against Perez, police were looking for a suspect when Guyger and another officer were called to assist a third. Perez got out of a car and became combative with Guyger and another officer. A struggle began and Guyger fired her Taser at Perez, who then wrested it away from her. She then drew her gun and fired, wounding Perez in the abdomen.
:

Guyger was not charged in the 2017 #shooting.

Repost from @firearmchronicles - PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — A Maryland pharmacist fired his revolver and ran off two would-be robbers, who are charged by police in connection with the incident.

News outlets report Princess Anne police filed multiple charges Tuesday against 22-year-old Cody Allen King and 22-year-old Justin Michael Bull. It couldn’t be determined if they have attorneys.

Wasim Amir said he was sitting in his office at Karemore Pharmacy Monday when a man ordered people to get on the floor. Amir said he grabbed a revolver from his desk and walked into the store, where he saw a man with what he thought was an assault-style rifle.

Amir said the man with the rifle yelled, “He has a gun.” Amir said he fired a shot but didn’t think he hit anyone.

Police said no one was hurt.

First: The pharmacist’s name is Wasim Amir. Forgive my prejudice, that seems to indicate that he’s a minority. He used a gun defensively and didn’t get arrested. One of the gun control advocate themes is that self defense laws are racist because they don’t protect minorities that protect themselves.

Second: If we trust that Amir was right when “where he saw a man with what he thought was an assault-style rifle” Maryland has an assault weapon ban. So the robber shouldn’t have had that gun.

Third: I thought that it was suicide and/or impossible for a good guy with a handgun to take on a bad guy with an assault rifle. According to the anti gun activists, Amir should have been turned into a red paste by the invincible assault rifle wielder.

To recap: A minority man uses a revolver to defend himself and his customers against robbers with an assault rifle in a state with an AWB, and doesn’t go to jail for it.

That’s three impossible things before breakfast.

No wonder Shannon has to try and reverse the headline to fit her narrative, because the actual story blows it out of the water.

Smh #thisisamerica Las Vegas police have identified two officers who shot a man after he allegedly stabbed two women in the west valley Friday, in the first of two officer-involved shootings within a period of 24 hours.

Police received reports of a man stabbing a woman inside a Regional Transportation Commission bus about 12:50 p.m. Friday, near Spring Mountain Road and Rainbow Boulevard. The suspect later stabbed another woman on the street and ran away from officers, Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Jamie Prosser said Friday.

Booking and jail records identify Caleb Rydlin Hill, 38, as a suspect in the stabbings. He was booked on two counts of attempted murder and another count of resisting an officer with a weapon that wasn’t a gun.

Officer Keith Hannof shot the man when he was near an occupied bus stop when the suspect failed to stop and let go of the knife, police said. Officer Beaumont Hopson shot the man with a low-lethal beanbag shotgun prior to Hannof firing, but because Hopson was within 5 yards of the man it is considered lethal force, police said.

GARDENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Disturbing surveillance video shows a hit-and-run suspect strike a veteran in Gardena, and police are on the hunt for the driver.

In the video, #JoshByrd is in the middle of the street when a vehicle traveling at about 30 mph appears to slam into him intentionally.

It all happened Monday morning, when Byrd was walking his service dog outside his job.

Byrd said prior to getting hit, he saw the man parked outside the warehouse -- his belongings piled inside his car. The man started throwing garbage outside of the vehicle when Byrd asked him to stop and put the garbage on the hood of the car. "I kindly asked the gentlemen, 'Sir, would you mind picking up the trash that you threw?' No response. He can't see me, I can't see him cause he has trash bags blocking his windows," Byrd explained.

The man started yelling profanity, threw a glass container of urine and Byrd attempted to throw it back, as seen in the video. That's when the man turned around and slammed into Byrd.
The Iraq War veteran received cuts and bruises all over his body. He got a fractured wrist and five stitches in his chin. "Any other type of person would have been like, 'All right.' They would have cursed me out, threw the trash at me or whatever and just drove off and continued on with their day. Now, the Gardena police are looking for him for attempted vehicular manslaughter, which carries, 20 to 25 years in jail. This guy is facing a lot of time," Byrd said. "All this guy had to do was pick his trash up." Gardena police investigating the incident said they're looking for a green four-door compact car.

Name: Robert Downey Jr.
Crime: From 1996 through 2001, Downey was arrested numerous times on drug-related charges including cocaine, heroin and marijuana and went several times through drug treatment programs unsuccessfully, explaining in 1999 to a judge: “It’s like I have a shotgun in my mouth, and I’ve got my finger on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gun metal.” He explained his relapses by claiming to have been addicted to drugs since the age of eight, due to the fact that his father, also an addict, had been giving them to him.
In April 1996, Downey was arrested for possession of heroin, cocaine and an unloaded .357 Magnum handgun.. A month later, while on parole, he trespassed into a neighbor’s home while under the influence of a controlled substance and fell asleep in one of the beds. He was sentenced to three years of probation and required to undergo compulsory drug testing.
In 1997, he missed one of the court-ordered drug tests and had to spend six months in the Los Angeles County jail. After Downey missed another required drug test in 1999, he was arrested once more. Despite Downey’s lawyer, he was sentenced to a three-year prison term at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran, California.
Before the end of his first season on Ally McBeal, over the Thanksgiving 2000 holiday, Downey was arrested when his room at Merv Griffin’s Hotel and was searched by the police, who were responding to an anonymous 911 call. Downey was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of cocaine and Valium.
In April 2001, while he was on parole, a Los Angeles police officer found him wandering barefoot in Culver City, just outside Los Angeles. He was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, but was released a few hours later, even though tests showed he had cocaine in his system.

On Tuesday night, 35-year-old Jeffrey Don Edwards of Harrah, Oklahoma got upset with his 17-year-old daughter for not washing the dishes and cleaning up around the house. Edwards was arrested on Wednesday on animal cruelty in the two dogs’ deaths. He was released Thursday on a $10,000 bond. 🐶🐶🐶 #animalrevenge words:
