I am in the works of getting my pre-pregnancy body back ... it has taken a while and that's okay... it doesn't matter if it takes 3 months or 1 yrs now I don't have the time like I used too...but as the baby grows now I think I can cope with putting him in the kid center of my gym... it's that I have heard more horror stories than good .. so that's why I have been hesitant on doing so! 🙈

For a really long time, I wanted to be part of the insta fitness community. I wanted to be friends with all the insta fit chicks, meet up with them at fit expos and take shameless selfies with them. In other words, I just wanted to be seen as this fitspo whatever that means. Was I ever successful ... For a really long time, I wanted to be part of the insta fitness community. I wanted to be friends with all the insta fit chicks, meet up with them at fit expos and take shameless selfies with them. In other words, I just wanted to be seen as this fitspo whatever that means. Was I ever successful in achieving all this? No! Why? Because I was trying so desperately to be something that I wasn’t, and I know that now. But since becoming pregnant, I feel like I’ve finally found myself, like I’ve finally got to know the real me. I don’t want to seem perfect anymore. I want to seem real. I want other women to relate. You know? Ever since I’ve started sharing more personal pregnancy stuff, I’ve been able to connect with so many amazing women. It’s incredible to see what happens when you share a piece of your true self. So no, I’m not a fit chick and I’ve actually never been. I do love to work out however 💪🏼 I lift weights 4-5times a week and I love it.

WHY? I’m sorry for the extra work! Here’s why. When I first started @veganyogamama I was just getting back into fitness #postpartum after baby number 2. I have always wanted to focus on one of my passions, yoga, but I have always been non-committal. Finally, this time, I threw myself into my yoga practice. Part of that was creating this page as documentation and self-motivation. It worked! I’ve been practicing regularly and have seen significant improvements in my fitness and my yoga practice (even from pre-baby days!). I’ve never been so comfortable upside down! 🤸🏻‍♀️
⏪ REWIND now to before my pregnancy. I had been getting into crossfit for about a year. I really enjoyed it and saw myself getting stronger 💪. But shortly after I became pregnant, I had pretty bad morning sickness, and lost my conditioning quickly, and I felt that it was best to suspend my crossfit membership while pregnant. I know many pregnant mamas continue to do crossfit throughout their pregnancies with great success, but this was the decision that was right for me. 🤰🏻
After giving birth, I could barely do an air squat. I didn’t feel right jumping back into crossfit; yoga seemed like the perfect transition for my fitness. It truly has been. Now that I am almost 4 months postpartum and have built my fitness back up, I want to continue my yoga practice and also incorporate lifting back into my life. 🏋🏻‍♀️ ✨There are some exciting developments on that front that I’ll be posting on the new page @mich.fit ! ✨

I gained it everywhere. It was miserable for me. The only thing I miss about being pregnant was feeling the baby’s movement. I’m in no hurry to get pregnant again.
RIGHT PHOTO: Current off-season, improvement season, call it what you want - this is my current, non-prep bod and the most comfortable I’ve felt in my skin during off season in a LONG time. Over the last two years my body went through A LOT. Tremendous weight gain, a big amount of weight loss, and now back to a happy and sustainable weight. Currently 130 lbs - up 12 lbs from stage and I’m very happy.
Be kind to yourself after you’ve had a baby. I know I wasn’t too kind to myself during pregnancy and after when I was losing the weight - lots of crying, lots of feeling ashamed of my weight gain, feeling ashamed of the changes. I’m not the only one who has or who currently is going through this. You have one body, so treat it well and be kind to yourself. #transformationtuesday

A bunch of changes occur to a woman’s body when they become pregnant and need to be taken into consideration: 🤰🏻
Weight gain
Head position
Posterior pelvic tilt (butt gripping, shuts off deep core)
Larger chest leading to kyphosis (rounding of upper back) and neck pain
Mobility (hormone relaxin)
Pelvis, hips, feet position
Hips widen so less support
Knees buckle
Feet flatten
And all can lead to back pain (The opposite, hyperlordosis can most certainly also occur but I will focus on a kyphotic posture here )

More than 80% of women experience back pain in pregnancy, which can often be treated effectively with proper posture, and postural changes in exercise. A 15-25% increase in total body weight during pregnancy puts pressure on the spine and encourages poor posture habits. •

Attention must be given to improving physical capacity, through strength and posture training. Resting back pain can be alleviated by moderate strength and stabilization exercises, if performed correctly and frequently enough to observe results. Specifically, the third trimester marks a change in the kyphosis angle in pregnant females, making back pain more apparent. A change to balance training and exercising the deep segmental curve can improve posture, and reduce back pain during pregnancy (Schröder, 2016). •

Pregnant women SHOULD be active in pregnancy, unless advised by your doctor and midwife not too, you are always encouraged to exercise. Especially if you have been training before you got pregnant. Let's be a little more supportive to pregnant women who are able and doing their best to keep their bodies active and healthy for themselves and their little bubs. (Also youre best not to mess with them cause their hormones be crazy!😜) Ps. These @savageswim
