I am looking to start writing again. What that means is I am looking for literate writing partners who want to take the time to learn and expand their writing skills. I'm looking for people who have a passion to write and are willing to work with me while we have fun and create some amazing stories.
-
-
Now keeping this in mind I have a few rules.
1. Please write with detail and passion.
2. Literate writers only. Meaning at least five to eight sentences per paragraph. The longer the better. The easier it is to work with. The more material you give me, the more material I can give you.
3. Do not be afraid to expand your character and try something you haven't written before. I mean subject matter. If you're not particularly skilled in one subject, feel free to ask to explore that with me.
4. Do not hesitate to ask questions.
5. Do not control my character by any means and I will not control yours.
6. Be patient with me, as I work and definitely am not at my phone most of the time. But I am willing to make it work if you are.
7. Have a plan in mind or at least be willing to work with me on plot-lines.
8. LASTLY, have fun!

Writing is a beautiful thing and I want to share it with the rest of you.

Tips if you end up booking a Photo session with me-
1. Bring a towel BC yo ass is gonna end up getting wet.
2. Yoga at your own risk. Danger yoga is a thing so if you feel uncomfortable at anytime during the session with the locations or poses I have you in please speak your mind.
3. It’s going to be a hella good workout so make sure to come readily stretched and photo ready.
4. Bring some Rock traversing water shoes. Some of the locations we go to require rock hoping skills.
5. Just have fun. My shoots are in most cases fun and adventurous. Part of the job of being a photographer is to make the client feel comfortable and to ensure they have the best time possible.

I wanted to share my incredible VPs in my organization 💗 When I said “yes” to Arbonne nearly 4 years ago I had NO idea what the future held and I truthfully was skeptical, afraid and scared. I fully anticipated on always being a team of 1 because I couldn’t imagine another person seeing what I saw and deciding to join me! What a precious blessing it is to now have 8 of us who have had the incredible privilege of changing so many lives that we have all earned our white Mercedes Benz! We are all 25 and under, all with different backgrounds, different skills, from different walks of life... the one thing we have in common is that we didn’t want to trade time for money any longer and we knew God made us for more. Because of Arbonne, not only do we have financial and time freedom, but because we have “extra”... we get to make a difference where we feel called and led to do so. We spend our days empowering others, helping people get healthy, reminding people how to dream again and living our best lives. If you’re tired of sitting on the sidelines and watching us, there’s never been a better time to join us. This Arbonne “thing” might just be for you too 😉😍 #WatchUsOrJoinUs #ThankYouJesus #WhosNext

I received DMs about this after really going public on this account about teaching reading and English.

Top Tips for Raising a Reader:

1. Read with your child. Aloud. Even if they’re too old. One of the best ways for a child to improve their reading skills is to follow along as a good reader reads.

2. Let your child see you read—books, newspapers, magazines, etc.

3. Give them audiobooks and encourage them to follow along in their own book. Audiobooks are not cheating and are a phenomenal tool for reluctant readers.

4. There is extensive research that shows us it is most impactful for children to see their father/male role model read and to read with their father/male role model in their life. This is especially true for young boys.

5. Go to the library or bookstore. Find books about your child’s favorite hobby—you know they’re already interested so it’s perfect.

I hope these tips help those who asked! Tomorrow I’ll be sharing some yoga and mindfulness tips for kids...stay tuned! 😘

Video 1 : The process before tinting I am pulling on the lace lightly to try to get a feel of how the lace blends with just the bleaching of the knots just before I start tinting . Seeing where the blend fall with bleached knots just lets me know how long I need to let the product sit on the lace.
Video 2 : Lace is still not tinted yet
Video 3 : The lace is tinted only in the front . This goes back to me explaining why I have so many different routines when doing installations. I had to remember this client is wearing a full face make up . I tinted the lace going off the make up color when my concern is how the lace match her skin when she is bare face . Notice in the video I wiped some of the make up off on her forehead and she’s a little darker than her make up . In this case I had to go backwards . Yes I am showing you guys my error /flaws because this also show how I master and utilize my skills to help me get out of a small problem .
Video 4: I removed the make up from the hairline area so her real skin color is revealed . I tinted the sides of the lace and got a better match. I could have left the tint where it was matching her make up because it would have still worked out but I wanted to be safe . Now I will work with the install from here.

Photograph Descriptions:

1. A school girl walking to class in Trinidad
2. A man who had lost an arm holds a Fuji Instax print that I had taken and given to him just minutes earlier in Trinidad.
3. The east coast has an entirely different vibe than the hustle of the west coast.
4. A boy stands with his family’s horse, his father and his father’s friends as the day comes to a close in a remote farming village.
5. Sometimes, the best moments in Havana are high above you.
6. While traveling with @TheGivingLens, we work with a local non-profit, @amigoskatecuba . The aim of the organization is to help the local youth stay active and learn art skills such as photography, painting, and dance.
7. Fidel Castro had died just three days before we landed in Cuba. The government had imposed a nine day mourning period where alcohol, music and dancing were outlawed. All through the country, there were tributes to the leader that many Cubans had lived under their entire lives.

9. A military veteran who had lost his arm in service tells us his story as his dog curiously looks on.
10. Cubans are the most hospitable people I have ever met. They will always invite you into their home for coffee or rum. In the case of the Cuban Chuck Norris, it was both.

Here are some quick and easy tips to help you braid your hair.

Braiding is one of my all-time favourite hairstyling techniques because it’s so versatile. What’s more, with shows like Game of Thrones, Hunger Games and Frozen using braids so much, these styles are really becoming one of the most popular ways to wear your hair at the moment. Which is really lucky because I reckon I wear braids four days out of seven, and sometimes even more.

I’m self-taught and I’m not that coordinated. So if I can do it, I know you can too.

1. START WITH A SIMPLE STYLE

Believe it or not, but fishtail braids are one of the easier braids to do. Check out my fishtail braid tutorial and try it yourself.

Or play around with the classic 3 strand braids (plaits) to create styles like this easy braided updo tutorial.

Once you’ve mastered these styles you can start building on your braiding skills and try more complicated styles.

2. EMBRACE MESSY HAIR

Your braids aren’t going to be perfect first time and that’s ok!

I personally think messy braids look better as they look more modern and less child-like. Who cares if there are layers poking through your braids, just go with it. I bet you’ll get a compliment on your new style ;) 3. DIRTY HAIR IS MY DIRTY SECRET

Braids are better in dirty hair. Seriously.

If your hair is too clean and soft, it won’t stay in place and will fall out of your braid. I use a texture spray or volume powder to mess up my clean hair if I want to wear a braid.

On dirty hair, I just spray a little dry shampoo on the roots and let the braids cover up the rest. It’s a perfect style solution for those days when you really should have washed your hair.

4. PRACTICE

I know this isn’t a quick tip, but it is easy.

It’s a fact that the more often you do something, the better you become at doing that thing. So if you want to be a better braider, keep practising.

Don’t wait until you’re about to go out to try that new braid. Next time you’re watching TV, practise braiding your hair. You’ll be surprised at how fast you improve.

5. EXPERIMENT

Some of my best braids have been complete accidents.
Hope this helped

CLOSING HIGH TICKET
sales for us.

We LITERALLY haven't gotten
on the phone AT ALL to close a
single sale. It's freakin Awesome!

Here is why we're passionate
about this.

1. The HIGH converting funnel is already DONE FOR US.
2. The traffic resources are given to us, plus my additional resources.
3. We're getting paid with this offer while in PRE launch.
4. You have a gentleman who has done over 170 MILLION in sales doing the selling and telling FOR YOU.
5. The PHONE closers are working FOR US to CONVERT all our traffic into sales.
6. This is in PRE LAUNCH and already paying during PRE launch.
7. Now there is a PRE LAUNCH bonus for coming in early before it goes LIVE to the public March 10th.

THIS is JUST the beginning. We're excited to
see where this will be a YEAR from now.

WE'RE GROWING: I'm looking to hire for 2019!!!! If your dream job is to work in the outdoors I might have a job for you! I own a marketing firm and most of our clients are in the outdoor/sports industry. We have been blessed with working with some awesome brands and early stage companies and help them grow their business. With the technology the company has developed, we have positioned ourselves to not only service clients but to grow some of our own brands to help create other solutions for the outdoor industry. With hunting season quickly approaching(my busiest but most fun season so far!) I'm going to start the search! I'm looking for some people who can do more than one thing but still have a specialty! I need a programmer, camera guy/video editor, graphic designer, sales guy(s), other marketing peeps, and most of all people willing to learn and think outside of the box. Being an influencer is a plus but not required. One of the things that makes us different is the way we can create better mouse traps. If you know my story you know I'm a firm believer in ambition over a college degree. So a college degree is not required, but if you think you can do a few of the skills mentioned apply! A lot of the work can be done remotely, so you don't have to live near me. Some work may require travel, fishing or hunting is usually involved on travel trips. You'll have a flexible schedule with time to hunt and fish, I require it for part of the job!
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Click the email link in my bio
2. Shoot me an email - include your resume - why you think you would be a good fit for my company - what your outdoor hobbies are(you don't have to say but helps me understand where you would fit into the company along side with your skillset) - Instagram @name
3. DM me a 👍🏻
4. Give me a follow if you don't already(I will creep because you'll be representing us online as well🧐) #OutdoorEntrepreneur

I had my first tennis lesson aged 4 and my mum likes to remind me that I asked my instructor on day 1 how long it would take me to get to Wimbledon!! We can easily deduct I’ve always been ambitious 🤣 and while I never made Centre Court as a player, just a spectator, I luckily got to play tennis with Tin Henman last year who praised my skills and the husband is bored of hearing about it whenever we play. Peter actually took me on a tennis date when we first met (how civilised) and while I couldn’t beat him at the drinking games of our early twenties, I smashed him on the court (I’ve refrained from a Love/Game/Match reference I’d been plotting so you’re welcome) but you get the picture: we love the beautiful game. My own kids have played tennis intermittently over the years but they start with @britishtennis next week and can’t wait. Oliver’s taken after me with his competitive streak and Xander just wants a drink like his Dad (non alcoholic of course). I’ll be ready with my orange quarters cheering them on, regardless trying my hardest not to ask their teacher how long until they’ll play at Wimbledon 🙈. Do your kids play? #Ad #TennisForKids 🎾

@redleader_standingby: “Riding dirty through Baghdad took a particular set of skills; skills honed by hours and hours of SOP development and practice. Some of our techniques were borrowed from other agencies or special operations units. For example, I'm fairly certain "The Lebanese Garage" was not invented in Iraq. Most, of our TTP's we invented ourselves out of necessity. The State Department's Diplomatic Security Service was not readily equipped or trained for the mission it was handed. The bureau's approved tactics were better suited for transporting an ambassador to a summit rather than sneaking an expert in infrastructure development to the corner of Sadr City. Most of the kit in the picture was brought in or, as in the case of our "batman" belts, made for us by us, to meet the specific mission requirements. In the tenure of our low-vis operations, we never lost a client, we never created contact, we were able to report shenanigans afoot to the TOC as they happened on multiple occasions while remaining undetected, and the only the only firefights we ever engaged in were defensive in nature while on venue. I attribute that success to
1. Picking the right guys for the job. Believe it or not, someone people cracked under the pressure of sitting in traffic among the local populace, outmanned and outgunned. Literally just sitting there.
2. Having enough ego to create your own solution when one does not exist.
3. Being humble enough to scrap a plan when things don’t look right.
4. Training ,training, training. It's 120 degrees? Bring water. Contact drills, CQB, medical, commo, driving, language, marksmanship: if we weren’t on a mission, we trained. I’d go to war with that team anywhere in a heartbeat. Imagine my surprise when they picked me up at the airport in another country several years later…” #TBT #OIF #highthreat #lowpro #adaptordie #raven7 #blackwater #bmw #mercedes #ridingdirty #specialforces #18D #freeraven23 #travelswithcharlie (via #appskottage.com #Grab @AppKottage)

Had a gun show & horseshoe game at Grayson’s birthday party 😆 Mom proud of these organic gluten free cakes that I baked from scratch. I ❤️ cooking, especially for those I love...but baking a birthday cake from scratch took things to a whole new level. It felt like I was reliving final exam week. 🤪🤓 Cramming it in. ➡️Organic, gluten free, nut free, dye free cakes don’t rise high. So instead of making 1 cake I made 4!!! These are doubled up. Talk about a workout. Raised by a single mother; two sisters with different fathers of different races, 6 elementary schools, drugs, guns, violence, countless homeless shelters and evictions later... Here I am still saying Happy Mother’s Day.
I was looking for a picture of my mother and I together and couldn’t find one. Not one? This would be a shock to most people, but not to me. I didn’t see her once between the age of 16 and 27.
So I texted my sister Autumn, (the beautiful white one in the middle) if she had any? She thankfully found one 👉🏽 (slide to photo 2). My sister Nicole (the gorgeous black one on the right) and I are in the background of some birthday, who knows where, or when, or for who. This got me to thinking how strong Mother’s Day reminds me of the two other beings she brought into this world and how much I love them.

Autumn is an incredible mother herself now. And Nicole makes me laugh so hard it hurts 👉🏽( swipe to the last picture 7 for early signs of her comedic skills 😂). So here we are. One clearly white, one clearly black, and one with enough Italian/ Portuguese melanin 👉🏽(picture 3) to fit in as a mixed kid in the ghetto (no I didn’t correct anyone if they thought I was even 1/4 black, I was proud to be included in the amazing culture I was surrounded by)
I didn’t realize how unique, beautiful, and lucky our ethnic mixture of siblings was. Now older, I do. So happy Mother’s day to you mom. Yea we had it rough, but when you come from dirt you have grit and fight no one in this soft ass modern world can touch. Thank you for my sisters and for giving me the experience I need to understand America. I’ll finish this with words from one of my favorites: a great 20th century poet: Name him if you know the words... 😏✊🏽 For a woman it ain't easy trying to raise a man
You always was committed
A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There's no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated!

4th Mission: I was assigned to review any V content ~ so I decided to review ‪“나은, 예나의 정장퓟! 그녀들은 에이프릴” ‬for this mission! This was one of my favorite missions!
- I have decided to review this content, because I have been a BIG fan of APRIL since their debut and I’ve followed these girls throughout their entire adventure! They are incredibly talented and they always comeback with a fresh, incredible concept. They do such an excellent job showing off their beautiful vocals and stunning visuals! This video shows APRIL showing off their unique little talents and skills, and trying new activities! Their personalities are so bubbly and refreshing~ that is so entertaining to watch! My bias is the loveable maknae, Jinsol! So talented~💖
- The video is so intriguing because all of members are so happy and elegant! For such a young group, especially when they debuted, it’s truly shocking to see all of them grow up and mature, not only in age but in talent as well! I will always support them no matter what. I hope they succeed always! Fighting~ APRIL. You can do it!!!

Getting to where I am today- where I am comfortable as a Traveling Registered Nurse & confident in my medical & cardiac skills ready to handle & recover weekly surgical cardiac pts that are often complex cardiac cases. Paying close attention to details regarding my pts assessment by monitoring
vital signs,
titrating IV gtts,
Meds,
tube feedings,
monitoring Ventilator,
labs,
Diagnostics & monitoring I/O's for their health.
Also communicate/update the MD,
pharmacist,
dietitians,
Resp team,
physical therapy,
Social Services, family, etc to form a plan of care for the pt, which isn’t always easy, but worth every min.
.
.
Even while in Nursing school, there were multiple occasions during which I had small doubts & fear. My confidence was certainly marred. Each time something like that happened, I questioned whether I really had the Right to be here? I was 1 out 4 males in our class of 44 students, but I was determined to follow my “VISION” to break the stereotypical boundaries being 🇲🇽Hispanic, Tatted & being a Male student Nurse.
.
.
My ❤️heart & my 🧠mind told me that I was destined to become a Registered Nurse, but the rest of me was definitely not cooperating. Overtime I was able to learn & grow as a student, a professional & as a person. I started to trust myself more & give the failures less power over me. I grew confident. Now I am working at UCSD Medical Center Sulpizio Cardiovascular Unit & its been my 2nd home away from home. Lol, I know that I belong there & that believing in myself is the most important part of being a successful Registered Nurse. So stand strong, believe in yourself & join your #cardiacstrong Squad😷❤️💪🏽.
.

Your struggles create your strength, so as you go through hardships & continue to fight, that is strength. You are here to risk your❤️, you have to love & to feel passionate about what you do. You have to fail & learn from it.
Go Follow your 👉🏽@CardiacStrong heart because its a strong muscle & what do muscles do when they are torn? They grow stronger. So remember that, you're stronger than you believe. [email protected]

For new followers and also long time followers my name is Silvia, I’m the momma behind the bows and name bracelets. Yasmi + Crew has been around for 4 years. I opened up the shop to provide quality and affordable handmade accessories that back then were very hard find (not kidding you, Etsy searches for tiny and sailor bows yielded very little). I was a young momma of two Littles under 4 then, and now I’m about to have a second grader 😱 One of my favorite things about following shops on IG is getting a personal feel for the makers so let me share a bit about me (& btw my daughter took this photo):
1. I’ve been married for 10 years and we love exploring new places with our Littles. We especially love hiking at national parks, with Zion and Bryce being our top favorite.
2. I’m turning 35 this year and once had dreams of becoming a school counselor.
3. I used to be a case manager for middle schoolers, and taught parenting classes to their parents. As a parent now I cringe at the thought of a twenty-something teaching parenting skills to parents of middle schoolers🤦🏽‍♀️
5. I graduated from Oregon State University with two degrees.
4. I was born in Mexico but have lived in the US for over 25 years.
6. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish.
5. My favorite food is Mexican and Indian food. I love bubble tea and gourmet donuts 🍩
6. I love gardening and growing micro greens.
7. I used to read books often, and these days you’ll find me listening to audio books while I make your bows.
8. We live in the PNW but my heart is in the desert.
9. I’m a bit of an introvert and I try to avoid crowded spaces like shopping malls or amusement parks.
10. In my mid-twenties I ran the Portland Marathon.
Ok so these are some random tid-bits about me. I wouldn’t mind getting to know you all a bit more, don’t be shy and say hello. Thanks for following Yasmi+Crew. Next week is the 4 year anniversary event and you don’t want to miss it. 4/20 at 9:30 PST.

A super sweet instafriend already commented on part 3: “I’m glad I already know there’s going to be a happy ending”. She’s right. I had two surgeries to get rid of the melanoma. Fortunately there weren’t any metastases so I didn’t have to undergo chemo therapy. Thank *whatever power there may be between heaven and earth* for that!
But both the unwanted childlessness and the skin cancer had a major impact on my vision of life. I realized that we can achieve a lot when we really want it and focus on it, but when it comes to the origin of life and death, the factor LUCK plays a major role! Being so lucky to get children and be able to love and care for them, and enjoying the beauty of life and earth in good health, is a great gift. So when my employer offered me to attend a senior management program in 2010 I asked myself: Is thát what makes my heart tick? Is thát what I’m here for? To work even harder than I already did? To play the political games? And for what? More responsibilities, money and status while being in an office all day long? Away from my children? You know my answer! The chance of a career move made me quit my job.
Since that decision I've been taking care of my kids and rediscovering (encouraged by Instagram), developing and using my creative skills as a freelancer. The skills I lost sight of for decades, the skills that already brought me in a happy flow when I was a young kid: photography, drawing and storytelling (read story 1). When I’m outside in nature, breathing in the fresh air, with a camera in my hand, I am the happiest person on earth. Especially on islands, where water surrounds me, I get a strong sense of freedom, away from the ratrace on the mainland.
Well, I’m almost at the end of My Story for now (hopefully there will be loooots of stories in the future). But before I finish this last part I want to thank Instagram for being such an inspiring platform and you guys for your support, the connections across the globe, the new friendships and for reading My Neverending Too Long Story! 😉

Big mews! 😻(I started to type ‘news’, made a typo, but I think it’s an improvement so I’m keeping it). I’m looking to hire an assistant! (Feel free to tag or share this post with interested friends) This position is ideal for someone who lives in the East Bay with a little textile & jewelry construction experience who wants to gain self-employment knowledge & other fiber skills, working side by side with me and receiving mentoring. It includes a wide range of tasks from basics of a small business, to unique day-to-day skills of a fiber artist / jewelry maker, offering essential hands-on learning experiences for a creative person who wants to build their own small business or professional practice in the future. A lot of training, mentoring and commitment will be offered to the individual in this position, as well as possible opportunities for creative collaborations. Hours & Schedule are very flexible & can be negotiated and altered as necessary, as little as 4 hours to as many as 20, depending on the week. The location is my studio in West Berkeley.
Having had several internship/assistant opportunities in the past, I am really committed to a few things in hiring an assistant:
1- This is a paid position
2- Im looking to form a somewhat long term relationship with one that is interested in my mentorship, so that even if s/he eventually moves on, the relationship has the potential to evolve into future collaboration, availability for freelance, etc.
Please only apply if you have basic hand sewing skills, basic jewelry construction skills (ie opening/closing jump rings, wire wrapping), basic fiber experience in at least one textile medium (ie knitting, sewing). Not required but a plus: Experience with metalwork, graphic design, quilting, garment construction, knotting, retail sales & bookkeeping ... these skills can lead to additional paid freelance or collaboration opportunities. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
To apply, send a letter of interest & resume to [email protected], or send an inquiry, and I’ll send further job details (which can also be viewed on Localwise). Selected resumes will be contacted to schedule interviews.

Off to ✈️ Malibu I go first thing in the morning to spend the next 4 days deepening my yoga practice and immersing myself in personal development workshops at the #lululemonimmersion retreat. I feel so incredibly blessed that I’ve had a lot of travel opportunities lately, but I admit that I do pack a little bit of #momguilt with me every time #awayjogoes. But I also believe that I’m a better woman to my family when I give myself the permission to get away and I’m sure my family feels a little bit of freedom when mom’s not around commanding for things to be in order.
〰️
Here’s a few things that help keep the @adobofam and I sane while I #travelaway
1. Honor and respect that I have a very capable and support partner who does a bad ass job while I’m away! I say this a lot to my friends: I believe that Jon is a better parent than I am. 😳 What I mean by that is he’s so much more patient with our girls than I at times and when I’m away it gives him the opportunity to get that father daughter bonding time that we both feel is so necessary for our family unit.
2. Give the hubs access to my day to day itinerary. Most of my travel is for work and it’s typically filled with a back to back schedule. I love giving everyone back home a copy of that schedule so they know what I’m up to and it helps alleviate the perception that I’m just laying around by a pool all day.
3. FaceTime! We do our best to FaceTime every night while I’m gone. This is trickier when I’m in a different time zone, but I do my best to help them feel connected with me.
4. Remind myself that they are learning to be independent without me and that they are picking up problem solving skills, team building skills, and connecting with each other. Often times I feel like I’m the glue to the family (I think most moms feel this way), but when I’m traveling they are left to work things out on their own, especially my two strong-willed girls. Below are a few of the best and smartest decisions I've ever made😊

🐛Keeping a journal
~This is by far #1. I've been keeping on since 2009, when I was 10 years old. As I'm about to turn 18, it is amazing to read my old entries and see how much I've changed! It is also a stress reliever.

🐛Snapchat story
~On New Years Eve 2015, I made a separate Snapchat account and added my personal to it. For the entire year of 2016, I've been sending cool videos and pictures of things I've done to that separate account. Even though most of the snaps were lost due to expiration, it was still a cool experience!

🐛Instagram Account
~I have a private Instagram account that I store all of my photos on! By not accepting anyone, it is completely private and allows me to save storage space on my phone. I even use certain hashtags to group photos!

🐛Not compared myself to others
~I used to be very self-conscience of my body and looks, but now that I've matured, I've realized that that stuff isn't important. I've stopped comparing my body to other girls and accepted myself and I couldn't be happier!

🐛Joined a dance team
~When I first began 4 years ago, I was NOT a very good dancer lol. But the last 4 years have allowed me to become more social, gain teamwork skills, learn to compromise with others, and make friends. ALL while strengthening my dance skills!

Tag a friend you would share this dish with!! 🍍🍍recipe is below. one of my goals this summer is to expand my kitchen skills beyond breakfast and dessert items. I'd say this was a successful start!! I got the recipe for this sticky pineapple chicken from @justataste website. It was DELICIOUS and my parents loved it. If anyone tries this and finds an easy way to scoop out the pineapple let me know because it was a juicy massacre in my kitchen lol
.
.
.
INGREDIENTS:
-1/2 cup pineapple juice (from the pineapples)
-1/3 cup soy sauce
-1/3 cup hoison sauce
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-1/3 cup chicken broth
-2 cloves garlic minced
-2 tablespoons corn starch
-4 chicken breasts
-2 pineapples
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-rice
METHODS:
1. Cut the pineapples in half vertically
2. Scoop out the insides (idk a pretty way to do this, it was messy af)
3. Put the pineapple chunks in a container and the juice from it in a cup for the sauce
4. Set aside the empty pineapple "bowls"
5. Put pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, hoison sauce, cornstarch, garlic, chicken broth in a pot and let it boil, stirring occasionally
6. After sauce boils and thickens, turn off heat and set aside.
7. Cook rice
8. While rice is cooking, cut the chicken into chunks
9. Put 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chicken chunks
10. When chicken is nearly done cooking, drain any excess liquid and add the sauce to the pan.
11. Add 1/3 cup pineapple chunks to the chicken pan
12. Put cooked chicken and rice in pineapple bowls. I added broccoli to mine too.
13. Enjoy!

My Top 10 Qualities to be an Well-Rounded Nurse, that all providers should focus on and remember.

1. Communication Skills - Having solid communication skills to be on top of your game by making sure patients are clearly understood by being an advocate.

3. Flexibility - You have to go with the flow in regards to long 12 hour shifts. Nurses work late overnight, because patient care & safety comes first.
4. Interpersonal Skills - Before I was an RN, I was a server for 5 years. In return, this helped my understanding of how to deal with a variety of people, their personalities & attitudes.
5. Quick Response - You always have to be on your toes in every emergency situation. Be calm, cool, and collected & expect the unexpected.
6. Physical Endurance - You're going to be moving and grooving for frequent physician tasks. You'll be transferring patients and power charting or assisting the MD the a bedside procedure.

Nature’s spring skills shines like rockstars in this quiche. With that said, Happy Beltane. I’m off being witchy. There are some full moon and beltane-related rituals definitely happening today. As well as a date with my man and cuddling + chasing our dragons. What are your best Beltane moments? ________________________________________________________Asparagus & Ramps Pesto, Skillet Quiche (vegan) serves 4-5
2 cup/500ml plant based milk, I used oat milk

1 1/3 cup/150g chickpea flour

1.5 tsp heat safe oil such as coconut/virgin canola/avocado

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

2 medium yellow onions

1/4 cup ramps pesto (recipe in the comments below)

1 large bunch asparagus

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C/347°F
2. Add plant based milk, chickpea flour, salt and pepper to a medium sized bowl. Mix into a smooth batter, using a whisk
3. Peel onion and cut into half-moons, set aside.
4. Choose a frying pan/skillet sized around 9.5-11inches/24-28cm. This is where you’ll both fry the onions and bake the quiche.
5. Heat oil in the pan over medium heat. Once oil is hot, add onions and cook for about 4 minutes or until golden, stirring occasionally. Once done, spread out evenly in the pan.
6. Pour the chickpea flour batter over the onions. Spoon over the ramps pesto (recipe below) and distribute/swirl it out as evenly as possible using spoon or a fork. Lastly, arrange the rinsed and trimmed asparagus onto the quiche.
7. Bake in the center of the oven for 35 minutes or until the sides are golden, slightly browned and the center firm and golden.
8. Cut up and serve with a side salad. Some crunch is a great addition too (I added toasted buckwheat for this reason but toasted nuts would be great as well). ________________________________________________________Ramps Pesto Recipe In the Comments Below!

Ibam sure most, if not all of you already know the importance of taking action to achieve your goals.
But how many of us practice this on a daily basis?

To help keep me focused on achieving my goals, I follow a simple seven-step outline.
1. Write down your goal!
Get your goal out of your imagination and on to a piece of paper. This then becomes a statement of intent. The process of writing down your goal forces the subconscious to accept the commitment you have made to work towards your target.

2. Set a deadline!
Set a target date by which you will complete your goal.

If your goal is a larger, more complicated, break it down into smaller steps and determine a deadline for each separate step.

3. Work on your mindset!
You can begin to work on your mindset long before you tackle your first goal. Develop a positive, “glass-half-full” approach to every aspect of your life, including your thoughts about how you will achieve your goals.

4. Develop your skillset!
It is very possible that a new goal will necessitate learning a new skill or will require some form of personal growth. Figure out what new knowledge you will need, or what new skills you will have to develop. Find the best source for gaining this knowledge and invest wisely to develop the assets you need.

5. Take the first step!
It is important not to procrastinate. The moment when real action is required is often when many goals fall by the wayside. You don’t need to wait until everything is just right. Get started now and make adjustments as you go along. Take that first step.

6. Continue to completion!
The path to the ultimate completion of your goal is unlikely to be a straight and simple one. Do not give up when you encounter the first or any subsequent obstacles.
Always keep the end result in focus, maintain your excitement and enthusiasm.

7. Reward yourself!
When you complete your goal, reward yourself. Look back over your accomplishments and enjoy the satisfaction that success brings.

The moment I realized that I found a company to help me live my ultimate dream life (I was 22 years old) I started taking notes, became a student committed to learning the rules of the game and started taking advice from successful people. 💥 In a couple short years after that, I became a "success story" --- But the thing that pains me about success stories… Is often times you see the glory but definitely not the entire story. People say to me all the time, "I would love to have your life you are so lucky" .....My response is always, "You can BUT you've got to be willing to do what I did.. and that's called sacrifice" 💕

A couple of tips if you are new or need a refresher:
1.) Be committed to learning the SKILLS of your business. Always be learning!
2.) Create a vision for your life that would make 99.5% of the population laugh. Look at it everyday.
3.) Every single day make time for income producing activities.
4.) A Millionaire makes $500 per hour. If that is your goal... Stop wasting time. Qualify it.
5.) SERVE people. Inspire people. Educate people. Help them. Guide them. Our time here is short... Be the reason someone else lived a BOLD life.

I'm thankful that at any point in life you can go back to school or change your mind or enhance your skills. I don't ever want to reach a point where I think I'm done growing or done learning. I particularly love to see different takes on a character, how every artist decides to portray and how each style fits a narrative. A character is a combination of appearance, personality, skills and environment. I who grew up watching ‘She-Ra’ and I loved the fact there were a huge variety of female characters represented in it, as I’m super excited to watch the new animation too, I want to draw some characters in my style. I will draw She-Ra (Princess Adora) and other 3 female characters from the cartoon and I would love if everyone could help me chose them.
So please vote on one or more characters you would like to see a drawing made by me :D

The bottom line is that I've been really busy for the last few months, and haven't been giving this account the attention it deserves. 😓 As such, I am looking for a co-owner to help me revitalise this account. 😃

1. Preferably be an Avatar account
- Just ensures that you have the experience of running an account 🀄
2. Will mainly stick to posting scenes
- You can defenitely post other fan art and content, but just try to mostly post scene edits 🎬
3. Will be a CO-owner
- I'm not giving away this account, lets make that clear. However, next year, I'll be even more busy, and if you do a really great job, I'll strongly consider giving the account to you 😁
4. Can make scene edits
- It doesn't't have to amazing or look anything like my kinda trashy edits, but it still has to at least look alright 🖌
5. Be willing to post at least once every 2 days 🌄
6. Please only message me if you're genuinely interested 😏 (don't want any monkey-business!!!) If you're interested, send me a message and also, if you can, a scene edit just to show me your editing skills (it doesn't't have to be perfect, even a rough edit is fine) Thanks. 😗

We've been traveling, playing, and training trio style for the past week in DC and SF, and we've worked together as a training and teaching group several times in the past.
5 reasons I love partnering with @christinemoonbeam and @hobotus:
1) We train! Hobs is an amazing base and spotter and we spot skills for each other at our edges.
2) Trios are so fun, static like this or or dynamic in which Hobs and I take turns throwing Christine at each other.
3) I fly! Which doesn't happen very much in my partnership with Christine 😂
4) All three of us share a similar work ethic towards training and appreciate methodical teaching.
5) We all travel with at least one costume at all times.

Thanks @acrowithjon for the photo and opportunity to play in DC!

I agreed to do so for a few reasons: 1, The victims in the Otedola/Ojodu Bridge Fire could have been any of us as the fire happened in rush hour in Lagos on a busy route. I've always practised empathy, so it was a no-brainer to support a cause that was directly reaching out to those in need. 2, I'm a proud Nigerian and it thrilled me that a group of young Chefs had come together to make a difference using their skills. We hear a lot of negative stories about our youth, but this is a brilliant vibrant generation, and these Chefs proved it. 3, My dear friend @mazziodu was a coordinator on the event and its hard to say no to one of your girls. Shout out too to @latashalagos who also was a coordinator. 4, it was the perfect date night with a cause for me and @mrgoldmineglobal. We're still taking donations so please DM @mazziodu for ways you can do this. Its all about a collaborative effort to make Nigeria great. #chefreliefdinner, #givingback #nigeriasyouthisworking #bethechangeyouwishtosee

~
I’ll be posting these challenges back to back, so you’ve got a fair bit of home work to do this weekend but I assure you it will be fun! So grab your Blueprint and turn to Part 4!
~
Whenever I coach anyone, I always look at two key areas straight away:
1. Vision & Purpose
2. Who must they become in order to fit into that role & responsibility.
~
So today, we are going to start looking at the most over looked part of success training and goal setting.
~
The real reason why most people never become successful or achieve their vision is usually tied to the fact they are unable to manufacture, develop and design a version of themselves that fits into their vision or life purpose.
~
You have to build yourself around your vision and purpose. You have to build and construct yourself in such a way that your values, beliefs, skill set and experience allows you to enter the room that your vision and passion exists in. You have to mould yourself in such a way, that you can actually achieve your goals!
~
Who you are today, what you represent and how you carry yourself - may in fact be your biggest hurdle. That’s a tough pill to swallow, but we are going to tackle this head on today!
~
Who do you have to become in order to achieve your goals and fulfil your purpose? Start thinking about it and I’m going to give you 2 areas to focus on this weekend.
~
A. What personal traits do you need to develop or modify in order to get what you want?
~
Take a look at your behaviour, your interactions with others, your thoughts, your views and opinions. What’s helping you become the person you need to be and what is holding you back. Be brutally honest with yourself and take your time.
~
B. What skills, knowledge and experience to do I need to fulfil my purpose and achieve my goals?
~
Take a look at who you are today and the arena you want to play in. Then connect the dots. Do you need to communicate more effectively, do you need to gain more experience in a certain area or do you need a specific qualification to partake in the industry you want to be in.
~
That’s it! Get to work and enjoy the process of working on yourself this weekend!

It’s Ajoy Prabhu also known @ajoy.prabhu_photo back for my last day and it’s truly been a pleasure sharing my world with you on this week’s IG Takeover. My final advice to you is always take in inspiration no matter where you are, never give up on crafting your skills and always try new things! Now get out there and get some beautiful shots! .
Coming from a deep science background, I used to struggle to make my images look "nice". They always looked flat and lifeless. Till I started to see photography as an art form, they were lackluster. First challenge to simply compose images carefully was nothing compared to thinking creatively about an image before shooting it!
.
There are still places on earth where sulfur is mined very dangerously - inside of active volcanoes such as Kawah Ijen, located in a remote part of the island of Java. The turquoise blue water at the bottom of the volcano is made up of sulfuric acid. The volcano is so dangerous that miners are not allowed to be in there for longer than four hours at a time - just about enough time to hike in and out with about $4 worth of sulfur.

On Sept 1-2, Alan (@thealanaragon ), Brad (@bradschoenfeldphd), and yours truly are going to science the shit out of NYC with all we got!!! These are two of my best friends and two of the smartest, most passionate individuals you’ll ever meet in Strength, Nutrition, and Conditioning. These guys literally conduct the research and write the books on hypertrophy, fat loss, sports nutrition, and body comp improvements and their information is cutting edge. They have to update their slides the day before their seminars to include the latest and greatest research findings.
I can’t wait for you to meet them and acquire their knowledge. I’ve learned so much from them and you will too. They’re also down to Earth and hilarious so it’s guaranteed to be a great time.
Of course, I’ll be teaching you all about glutes and providing a lecture and a practical.
Thank you Mark Fisher (@mfisherfitness) for hosting this event. The attendees will gain 1.4 NSCA CEUs and learn the most current science & practice-based knowledge and skills for transforming physiques & lives. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about hitting NY like a freight train. The pics are of our San Diego gig last March that sold out.

While I blog a good deal about cocktails, I also have a serious passion for food. A lot of the time the kitchen is also my bar because your girl likes to make a mess. It’s encouraged me to throw my cooking skills into my cocktail skills, like this drink that includes wood plank smoked fruits.

Smoked Fruit Garden
1.5 oz Dark Rum
1 oz Pisco
1 oz Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Mint Simple Syrup
4 Smoked Peach Slices
2 Smoked Watermelon Slices
Dash of Tiki Bitters
Smoked Sea Salt
In a cocktail shaker muddle smoked peaches and watermelon together. Add in ice, dark rum, pisco, lemon juice, mint simple syrup, and a dash of tiki bitters. Vigorously shake and strain into a highball filled with ice and rimmed with smoked sea salt. Garnish with rolled watermelon rinds if you wish.
Smoked Peach and Watermelon Slices
Soak a cedar plank in water for an hour. Cut peaches and watermelon into slices. Grease the grates on a grill and bring to medium heat uncovered. Add the plank to the grill. Once the plank begins to crackle and smoke add the peaches and watermelon to the plank. Cover the grill and let cook for 10-12 minutes. #boozytalk

1. Blake: NOTHING drives me as mad or pushes me like my son but I’d jump in front of a train for that kid
2. Sarah: My wife has endless patience for my quirks. Instagram doesn’t have enough characters for me to show my appreciation #NotASponsoredPost
3. Living in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney: Yes, the Eastern Suburbs are a bubble. It’s a great bubble though
4. My health: I spent a lot of time working on my health and it’s paying off. I’m still “fit-fat” but I’ve got a great baseline for 2018.
5. Travel: It was a relatively quiet year of travel for us but we did Cape Town, Sydney, Brisbane and Vietnam as a family and I finally got to experience the magic of New York
6. My job: I never thought I would say this but I am really enjoying my job. As someone self-employed for the past six years it was hard for me to change my mindset but it’s been excellent
7. Audiobooks and Podcasts: Turns out I pick up knowledge through listening and have learned an insane amount of new concepts and skills
8. Friends: Some old, some new, everyone has been understanding, patient and wonderful
9. Learning to put my own mask on first: “In case of emergency, put your own mask on before helping others” - best advice of 2017
10. The power of writing your goals down: Get a board, get some cards, write it all up and evaluate every month. Watch the success roll in

Make 2018 a great year, only you are in control of your happiness.

Right? 😃Well even if you don't, stop by or send your friends to our yard sale. The proceeds help pay for my medical bills. Tomorrow is 50% off all items on racks or tables. Books are 4 for $1! Or only 50cents a book! Outdoor items, holiday decor, party decor, girls clothes and shoes, bookshelves, home goods. Please share our sale with friends and family.
For those of you asking how to help on a physical level here are the options. 👇🏼⭐️👇🏼⭐️👇🏼⭐️
🔹Shopping our sale is one option. We will be using the money to be able to pay for my next round of treatments and blood work. 🔹Purchasing from our Amazon wish list is another. We are not able to take anything with us, due to possible re -contamination to me. That means clothes, shoes, kitchen items, bath items, homeschool books, bibles, bedding, paper products, food, and a few toys for our girls and more all has to be repurchased. I don't know about you but even going minimalist the task seems daunting. Not to mention the overall cost. Ordering from our wish list helps us greatly with supplying for our needs. 🔹Gifts cards are a huge blessing as well; Amazon, Costco, IKEA, Target all have items we need for this next part of this journey. 🔹My sister also started two fundraising options. Gofundme and donating through a tax deductible option, AOX. . The proceeds go towards getting me well. 🔹Links to all these options are on my FB page. 🔹If you have skills in construction, painting, plaster, drywall, kitchens/baths, plumbing, electrical, doors/windows, tile work and can donate time or supplies after the remediation. Please contact us. We will have a project manager in place to line up putting our home back together in hopes that we get to return to Detroit. ⭐️ We want to continue to thank you for the prayers and support in so many ways! We honestly need you; friends, family and those we don't even know yet. 💛 #mydetroitlife #worktogether #rosedaleliving

Contrary to popular belief pass-rushing is a science and it requires a strategic approach. Performing drills without a clear approach is useless. I was fortunate to learn my pass rush skills from my college coach Joe Cullen who’s now the D-line coach for the Baltimore Ravens. Pass rushing is something I became obsessed with in college. Modeling the techniques by pros and dominant rushers became a huge asset to an undersized pass-rusher like myself. I’ve watched thousands of hours of film with some of the best pass rushers in NFL history. Old school rushers with the same fundamentals used today. Reggie white, Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Thomas etc. Each piece of the rush is extremely important and will determine wether the defender will have success or be denied.
1. Stance-butt high so first step isn’t up it’s out. 1.5 yards reset the line of scrimmage
2. Get off-explode. As if you were shot out of a cannon.
3. Shortening the distance between the rusher and the protector- arm violence, rapidly pumping the arms to assist in acceleration.
4. Half man- turning hips and getting o-lineman off his set point. This is called flipping the hips.
5. The confrontation - this could be a hand combo, a bull, push pull, etc. every pass rusher has an arsenal of moves. Some have a predetermined plan which may be best or modified when given a specific set by the O-lineman.
6. Last but certainly not least is a savage tenacious attitude of persistent determination. You must believe that the QB is holding something that you absolutely cannot live without. Easier said than done. Creating this belief requires visualization and mental constant mental reps.
Although Chris is mammoth of a man at 6’6 and over 300 lbs it would do him no good to run down the middle of the O-lineman and it would also make their job much easier.
The first two drills are great examples of flipping the hips and not running down the middle of the Offensive Lineman. @stonecoldjones95 Does a great job of flipping his hips and putting himself in a position to be successful. #passrush #nfl #football #sports #mindset #approach #coaching #halfman #sack #passrusher @anatomy

All you need to do is blend 2 juicy tomatoes with some garlic and onion powder. Meanwhile brown 2 cups of rice in a pan. When it starts smelling like poped corn add blended tomatoes and a cup of veggie stock. You might need to add some water as it cooks and keep stirring until done. On the side mix black beans and corn with some smokey salsa. Cut some lettuce, add some avocado and voila! 🥗
You could also make guacamole by blending 2 avocados, 1/4 onion, 1/2 tomato, 1 jalapeño, 1 garlic clove and a bunch of cilantro and a squirt of lime. 🥑

First.. no fighting with the other tributes, you’ll have plenty of time for that in the arena. There are 4 compulsory exercises, the rest will be individual training. EXPOSURE can kill as easily as a knife.

TRAINING DAY ONE [🥊]
-You will each have 12 hours a day of training for the next two days.
-You will be given many activities to choose from during the training. Each activity works on a different skill, but they also take a certain amount of time.
-Once all of your 12 hours are up, you will be sent your daily statistics.
-Skills benefit to you a lot in the arena.

There have been a lot of new faces around here lately and I wanted to do a tiny intro for those who don’t know us yet.
This is me and my youngest of 4 kids. (Hello future wrinkles.😮 I kind of love it.) You’re going to find a lot of crafting in my feed, knitting, quilting, I dye yarn, make patterns, homeschool and currently am flexing my Whole30 muscles.
Fun facts:
1. My hubby and I have been married for 16 years. I still can’t believe how time flies.
2. This little guy stops by and hugs and kisses me every now end then. It’s my favorite.
3. I come from a long line of knitters and learned some of my skills from my heritage and a lot from the library and internet. I am still learning new things.
4. Here’s a new one. I have a YouTube channel but am too scared to actually film a podcast (a little dream of mine). Should I bite the bullet?
5. I named the Finch Bucket after this little guy (his name is Atticus).
6. I’ve always dreamed of having 4 kids. That said, I also dreamed of having a clean house. One dream came true. 😂

I don’t often invoke the skills of my first career as a military officer, but…

When one of us has an ailment, especially a contagious ailment (i.e. the common cold or flu), I wage a battle of mythic proportions.
My husband is a strategist in the Army currently working on a doctrine called, “Multi-Domain Battle” (MDB) and whenever he talks about work, all I practically ever hear about is MDB. MDB in its simplest explanation is the seamless integration of all capabilities (land, air, sea, cyber, intelligence, special ops, etc.) to wage war.

So, to prove to my dearest, brilliant strategist husband that I have been *mostly* listening, I present my version of MDB against the common cold that has taken over my poor four-year-old daughter’s body. *Also, she is at home with me today; therefore, I’ll probably get a lot less real work done - so here goes:
OPERATION STOP THAT VIRUS IN ITS TRACKS deploys the following “forces” (treatments) simultaneously to deter the enemy (common cold) and prevent it from further incursion in the McCoy household.

#1) Treat the symptoms - apply immediate kinetic action to the source of discomfort (i.e. air strike, infantry, artillery, whatever method is best). In my case, I created a balm of coconut oil (4 tbs), lemon, peppermint, and lavender (2 drops each) essential oils to apply to the irritated skin under my daughter’s nose to soothe the raw feeling caused by blowing a runny nose.
#2) Show of force for deterrence - deploy additional forces to various strategic points in order to deter continued discomfort (i.e. take over key terrain with various military forces - naval vessels, strategic positioning combat units). In my case, I created a salve of coconut oils (4 tbs), 4 drops of melaleuca (tea tree) oil, 3 drops of lemon, and one each of wild orange, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. This salve is applied to my daughter’s neck, chest, and the bottoms of her feet. This will hopefully ease her current symptoms and lessen the duration and severity of her cold.
#3) Deter the enemy’s influence - use diplomatic, psychological operations, cyber... (see more in comments)

3. Tonight I had these silly and wonderful costumers. They just had a 4 hour car drive from SF (one of my favorite places in the world), and are staying at Walle’s in Genoa. I got to hang with them and get to know their family, and their were three young boys who were pretty chaotic, but sweet and just made me laugh! I asked the three of them to draw me some pictures. Two of which did (Kirin and Cameron). The youngest brother, Colin was jumping up and down being all silly and I couldn’t help but be a mother and laugh at the same time. This particular family just came in my life for a reason and it was a God reason, and how lucky we got to exchange words about places in SF and places in NV! Best of both worlds!

4. My little Milo Oliver. I know deep down in my heart that this little man is a blessing in my life. And when I look at him it’s a constant reminder to me that Jesus and God are so real, that they saved him from his tragic past and kept him alive just for him. This dog keeps me alive everyday, and I will hold him and pray with him and thank the Lord everyday he is with me. This is my baby and I couldn’t be happier without him.
Thank you Lord, Jesus for dying for my sins and giving me another chance everyday✝️ #jesus #hehasrisen #ilovegod #happyeaster #wonderfulword #godisreal

Officially a week of being jobless and useless and non productive at all where I decided to finally browse through my photo gallery and stuff I brought home from my last day.
So here we are some of the keystones in my journey who made me who I am today and walked along me in the past 5 years plus.
1. The first person who great me with the name of EY, my interviewer, my then counselor. Thank you for all the advice and encouragement you gave me during these years. I couldn't have ask for a better counselor than you.
2. My boss whom I'd followed since my senior days. The one who taught me all my project management skills and guided me how to lead the team and handle the clients. Those are soft skills I'm so grateful for until today.
3&4. My first few friends in the journey. The ones I counted days with and be amazed at how many crazy year ends we gone through. Sep'12 ftw 💚

5. First Supervisor? Yeah I remember how you accidentally blurt out a Jian Qin Lim on the first time we met in the meeting room of the 7th floor. That place is long gone now!

6. The team I'd work with for the longest. I'd spend more waking hours with them than anyone else for the past years. Someone I ate the most meals with, someone who probably heard all my lame jokes, someone who seen the most of my eyerolls in action. My bimbos 💚

7. My very last team where we wrap the whole engagement up to signing. I would have walked you out the office instead of you walking me out have you not retract your letter. Oh well, good luck then ?
8. And finally, my very last job before I bid adieu. Probably not my best piece of work but one I'd most of the fun with. Hi Rachel, if you're reading. I really wish to give you my brain if I could. Jiayou okay! 😘

So that's it. If you're still reading. No I did not send a last email cuz I totally forgot about it while rushing off. So take this as one as I bid goodbye to all of you.
Oh boy, being jobless seriously makes people reflect. I'd never thought I could type this long in my caption. Guess there's nothing else better to be done ?

Till then, xoxo.

Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A. On and off for almost 4 years. 1 year starting off, then almost a year being prego with my first little man, then a year postpartum. I then took a break to work on skills/ lifts and was prego with my second little man, but as soon as I was cleared to work out, back to CF, and in to Jääkarhu (since December 1, 2017)!!!
•••
Q: How did you get started?
A. I went to a few community workouts around town, had a few friends that did it, and then after doing a trial month at a box around the corner from my house, I was hooked!!
•••
Q: What are your favorite CrossFit Movements?
A: That’s a toss up. I know it’s weird, but I LOVE overhead squats and handstand push-ups! And, I love the looong workouts (think Murph) 💚

I look so happy in this picture at @cvspharmacy but 6 minutes after this photo taken, I was limited to 4 out of 12 packs of water they had on sale for $1.88 each (24 pack). There is no limit per the ad. I went from a smile to a sad face real quick. As y’all know, I don’t post all the glitz and glams of Couponing, I like to show you the struggles we go through at times even when we use no coupons and with coupons. We like deals and it’s a way of life for many. One of the downsides is dealing with bad cashiers that cannot control themselves. Anyway, keep reading for what happened
.
A temporary manager on call inside the store decided not to use courtesy, or great customer skills by saying say “hi” or nothing to me. Instead, she started off with a loud aggressive tone yelling “Limit of 4! Limit of 4!” as soon as she saw me getting close to the registers. Those were her only and first words to me
.
I quickly made a left to go back to to put back 3 cases to make it 4 in my cart and to still keep the other 4 in the other cart since Joey was getting his too
.
I headed back past the photography section again only to get confronted by this same manager again as she said “I hope y’all have 2 cards!”. By this time, I’m mad and responded professionally since I didn’t receive it “I wish you would exhibit good customer skills by approaching me with a nice tone or with a greeting to make me feel welcome, I never said anything to you and you have confronted me as if we had a fight, find some customer service skills and treat me like every other customer!”. She went silent.

Luckily, I took pictures of the section of water they had in because if you limit customers, the solution is to present a sign saying that (which they didnt) and make sure you limit everybody. It wasn’t about the limitations (we deal with that a lot as couponers), it was about how loud she was and my customer experience. She started off with an attitude that caught me way off guard
.
They had other customers getting items and she didn’t limit them but she choose to act out and forgot they had cameras in the store. I didn’t forget the cameras. CVS corporate has been contacted.

My TV episode in Japan aired interviewing @chiefs quarterback @patrickmahomes5!😃🎥✨ Mahomes became the fastest player in *NFL history* for reaching a total of 4,000 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes. He revealed to me his secrets on his incredible arm strength (which must also come from his father who was a professional baseball player) as well as his relationship and growth of his teammates. Although the Chiefs recently had some unfortunate news, I hope they will remain strong as a group as they aim for the Super Bowl! I also had a 1-on-1 interview with veteran Mitchell Schwartz as well as Dee Ford who shared his unique skills that most people would not be able to predict coming from a football linebacker. The second part of the episode will air next week on Nippon TV's NFL Club!✨

Wow, we can’t believe this is our 3000th post. Our first post was on June 29, 2013 (swipe) so its just over 5 years that we have been on IG. This picture was taken in our favorite place to hike, Rockefeller State Park Preserve. It has been a long time since I told you all a little about myself and for those who have been following us for a short time here goes my Ten Things About Me list:

1. I was born in Greenwich, CT on October 23, 2011. I was one of 11 in my litter.
2. My breeder can be found at simplygoldenretrievers.com and you can see pics of their recent pups at their IG account @tillypuppies.
3. I am a daddy's boy all the way. I also still have all my equipment that I was born with.
4. I am a professional pouter having honed my skills to produce the most guilt on mom & dad. This goes well with my stubborn streak that comes out when I don't want to do what mom wants.
5. I am a BIG guy. I'm not fat, just big boned and very solid at close to 100 lbs. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
6. I love tennis balls and my stuffies. I have ALOT of both and leave them all over the house so there is always one nearby and for someone to trip over.
7. I love chewing on sticks, especially if they are from the bushes in the gardens, refer back to point 4b. I just break them off and start chewing on them in the shade somewhere.
8. I hate to be in the sun unless I am laying on a pile of snow. I LOVE SNOW!!!
9. I love to go in streams, lakes and rivers. I haven't gotten into a big pool yet so not sure if I would like that. Dad got me a little pool one summer, but I wouldn't lay down in it.
10. Dad & I are so thankful for all of you that follow us. You bless us by your comments and the love you express. We hope we give you a smile and maybe a chuckle at our antics or enjoy our adventures. I've been catching up on editing this month. This is one of my faves from today—from an unexpected turn while exploring a sleepy village in Tuscany.
There are different skills I am always trying to improve in my composition.
One of those skills is finding composition that shows multiple layers, layers that lead you in, draw you in, and give you an endless feel while still feeling tucked away. I love all the layers in this spot from the foreground, middle, to the many layers in the background. Makes my heart sigh.
Italia. Nowhere else like it.

Before I share, I didn’t know what areas I’d be good at. So I WASTED my time creating things that didn’t matter, I SPENT hours learning information that was not impactful, and spent money on things that were NOT relevant.
.
If I KNEW these 5 IMPORTANT skills years ago, I couldn’t imagine how much farther I’d be today.
.
Here are 5 skills I recommend you MASTER as an Online Entrepreneur:
.
1. Copywriting: Your ability to write in a way that can connect with your audience and articulate how you can help them. (This includes: Writing copy for landing pages, social posts, blogs, emails, etc)
✍️
2. Audience Growth: Your formula for growing a following that aligns with your values and understands what you do and how you can help them. (This includes a formula for growing your audience on: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Email Subscribers, etc)
📈
3. Lead Generation: Your process to take an audience that is unfamiliar with you and turn them into a potential buyer. (This can include traffic to: A Calendar appointment, attendees to your next workshop or webinar, automated appointments set through software, etc:)
📍
4. Selling: Your ability to communicate the value to a prospect in a way that can lead them to buy your products/services. (This can include selling by phone, zoom calls, through webinars, or event on stage at a live event, etc)
📱
5. Sales Funnel Conversions: The ability to use digital systems to filter leads and organize their data so you can give them valuable information that leads to a sale.
(This can include: PDF download funnels, Webinar Funnels, Live event funnels, Book funnels, Membership Funnels, High-Ticket Funnels, etc)
💸
Whether you are advanced or brand new, these are the 5 skills that you will need over and over again.
.
Master these…and you’ll have no problem finding new clients and growing a thriving business.
.
When you can get this process to run without you…things get FUN!
.
Very few people figure out how to Build a SMART business but those who do will prosper BIG TIME!

6 Suggestions to implement Healthy Eating for our Kids.
-
-
To follow up with my post from yesterday I’m adding on the kids portion👩‍👧‍👦
-
-
Whether your kids eat healthy or not, I feel that it is our role as parents to introduce them to healthy eating, how to prepare and assemble foods, and how to clean up. 💥SHARE YOUR IDEAS AND THINGS YOU’VE TRIED AS WE CAN ALL USE THE SUGGESTIONS💥
-
-
I’m not the professional at this as my kids eat both healthy and treats. My kids have different body types and activity levels, we make efforts but aren’t always consistent, we have food battles and personality differences. However, here are 6 suggestions that we can all focus on: -
1. Teach them how to include protein and healthy fats. Most kids live off of processed carbohydrates. So to balance it out we can at least include some protein like smoothies with a 1/2 scoop of whey, eggs, ham, Greek yogurt, chicken as well as healthy fats like nuts, guacamole, and natural but butters. -
2. Portion control- don’t walk around with a bag of chips or crackers, portion it out into a small container. If hey are old enough have them weigh our snack on food scale, thy might actually enjoy that. Choose 3-5 different snack for them to have with only 1-2 of them being a “treat”. -
3. Try to avoid frequently eating fast food. It’s not beneficial for any of us and kids don’t have the maturity to understand that although it may taste good, it is not benefiting their health or body. -
4. Have a “Free Meal” once or twice a week. Ours is Friday’s and my kids know and look forward to it. We do have times that we eat out in addition to that but the goal for us is once a week. -
5. Get comfortable in the kitchen- whether it be setting there table, choking the fruits and veggies, doing the dishes, etc. let them help out so that the can gradually take on more responsibility and when they are ready for college you have taught them he basic skills. -
6. Make recipes together- find a cook book for kids or use Pinterest to get some fun recipe ideas. Let them pick out what they want to make and let them be involved in the shopping and recipe making process.

Question:
What’s MY best ever Finish in Supercross in my entire life racing ?
“Bonus if you can name the year and stadium “
Let’s see who’s actually followed my career or gets lucky guessing ... make sure to read the rules
RULES!!!!!! Follow them or your disqualified from winning
1. TAG 5 OF YOUR FOLLOWERS (They must me following you)
2. YOU MUST BE FOLLOWING ME
3. You can enter unlimited time BUT EACH COMMENT NEEDS 5 “DIFFERENT” FOLLOWERS TAGGED
4. First correct answer wins
5. Must say what system you have as well in the comment with the answer .

So my trip last week, the only light we ended up using at night was the @luminaid I didn’t use the phone charging feature . Strictly lantern use. I loved it. Super bright, love that you can see the level of battery that you have. There’s a much larger battery on it than any other solar lantern that I have used. I kept it on the lowest setting for most of the 1st night . I ended up having to switch to glow sticks to inspire my daughter to go to bed😂 limited her lighting . It dropped 1 bar (99-75% ) battery area after the 1st night so I knew I was safe not charging it, Put it up on top if my car anyway. Was nice to not have to worry about night 2. I really can’t wait to use it again. It still has almost full battery, need to throw it on top of my car again at some point. The usb output to charge a phone is 2.1 , which is great. I use 2.4 or 2.1 on my powerbanks, both work. Thank you again @luminaid I love that I feel like I don’t have to worry about killing off the battery even with a few nights use. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 ( there’s a goal zero next to it but I didn’t end up needing it ) #luminaid #solar #solarlantern #survival #emergency #preparedness #flood #blizzard #zombieapocalypse #wildfire #emp #hurricane #tornado #urbansurvival #shtf #survivaltips #survivalist #tactical #survivaltools #gear #outdoors #homestead #skills #survivalskills #emergencykit #bugoutbag #edc #hunting #fishing #foraging

Try your skills in the kitchen and never loose interest. It’s while you cook you unfold biggest mysteries about yourself. Here is my recipe to this delicious #paleovegan tortilla that has everything I know and much more that I don’t. Cook it with love
Ingredients
400 g roasted sweet potato
1/4 cup cassava flour (tapioca works fine but add 1/3 cup instead)
1/4 cup coconut flour (little bit more if the dough turns out too sticky)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp turmeric (optional)
1/2 tsp instant yeast (optional flavoring only)
Direction * mix all ingredients until a dough forms.(dust with coconut if it’s too sticky)
* heat skillet on low, and use a brush to season it coconut oil * take a piece the size of lemon and put it between to baking paper, with a roller spread it until it’s 15 cm wide. * fry it for 3 minutes on one side, then 2 on the other. * put it on a wire rack to cool and wrap your favorite food with it.Same dough can also be used for kibbe, how awesome is that 🌟💫

I am & always will be a workhorse 👊🏼 In high school, I was 40lbs heavier & that girl who was picked last for EVERYTHING in gym class.
Later in life, I was drawn to running because this is the sport where you can outwork talent to some extent. I’ve always had a strong work ethic. Back in my school days, While other kids barely had to study to get an A, I was nose in book for HOURS taking notes, re-writing, re-reading, studying. Despite my efforts, I still wasn’t one of those super stand out student, ya know? I was a 3.6 GPA kinda girl despite all my efforts to have a 4.0, it just didn’t happen. When we took the SAT (you know those college admissions tests?) my peers laughed at my results. “Shouldn’t your score be higher than that? I thought you were smart?”. Sad, right? But it’s something I’ve heard over and over again my whole life. People have never really seen how effing hard I’ve had to work behind the scenes to just become average.
Here the thing- you might work your ass off and never be the best: you might work 20x harder than the person next to you & still not be where they are. But you know what you are better than? You are better than the version of yourself you would have been if you didn’t try. You are on your own journey. We all have skills and talents in different areas. Don’t let lack of natural ability prevent you from hustling to become great!!

.
Here’s My Personal Top 10 Qualities to be an Awesome Well-Rounded Nurse that all should focus on & remember.
.
.
1. Communication Skills - Having solid communication skills to be on top of your game by making sure pts are clearly understood by being an advocate.
.
2. Empathy - We have to understand that pts are going through their own pain & suffering, so learning to recognize this will improve your overall patient care.
.
3. Flexibility - You have to go with the flow in regards to long 12hr shifts. Nurses work late overnight, because patient care & safety comes first.
.
4. Interpersonal Skills - This one is my Nurse favorite because before I was an RN, I was a server for 5 years. In return, this helped my understanding of how to deal w/ a variety of people, their personalities & attitudes.
.
5. Quick Response - You always have to be on your toes in every emergency situation. Be calm, cool, collected & expect the unexpected.
.
6. Physical Endurance - You're going to be moving frequently with physician tasks. You'll be transferring pts or standing for long periods of time while charting or assisting the MD the a bedside procedure.
.
7. Respect - Always respect the wishes of pts & your while faculty staff. Remember nurses who respect others are highly respected in return.
.
8. Emotional Stability - This is a stressful career where traumatic situations may arise. You have to be strong to have the ability to accept what may occur as an RN.
.
9. Attention to Detail - Did you read that properly? Every great RN has to pay attention to detail & should never skip steps. The consequences can be the difference between life & death.
.
10. Problem Solving Skills - Know your Critical Care skills or follow your intuition or gut feeling. It's usually right.
.

My training session for today, it’s been a while since I posted something like this. This is one of my strength training routine which focuses on building strength for future skills such as the press and levers, (1/Straddle press with a pause. 2/Advance skin the cat. 3/Pull ups. 4/superset of body rows, push ups & toes to bar.) Of course followed by regular stretching

Lately I’ve been less motivated, my mobility issue which was described by the doctor (Global body tightness) is giving me a hard time in my training, so I’m not training like before but I didn’t stop either. I will try a different approach with the mobility so I can get my sprit back up!

We’ve broken up so many times that we’ve lost count to it and got no idea which date is the anniversary now. When I told parents we are together for 4 month, he corrected: “ or 4 times by 1 month!”
Is it selfish to love someone because they are constant and persistent and just never give up on you? Oh yeah, it is definitely selfish.
But that’s not all.
Somehow he went from being lectured( read: nagged) by me on daily basis to inspiring me to be healthier and more focused myself ( still no hope for @sweat_1000 , sorry).
His ability to remain calm even with million things happening around, requiring his attention. Somehow he still manages to give his 100% to each one of them.
He always believes in best, doesn’t give up and doesn’t let me sulk for too long.
When I can’t organize myself or my parents, he organizes himself, kids and me...and my parents. 🙌🏻 (could be serious voodoo skills)
He doesn’t talk about things, he does them. I can talk about summer approaching while shamelessly baking another creation, when he will Just get up and go to @sweat_1000 , 25 or something days in a row. ( Disturbing!) and still eat my cake! I respect that.
He is up to anything done with people he loves. Could be a choo-choo train with max speed reach of 1km and 100meter tack radius (if even that) with two kids and a baby on his shoulder to abstract sketching whole afternoon and never ending strolls around crystal shop or plant nurseries with me.
He just wants to be around and part of things people enjoy or love, be it every single match of @rolipu and @mattyrusike or every possible concert of @ardmatthews and @ana_kuni exhibitions.
I could write so much more and I probably will if we don’t break up tomorrow or day after or in another hour while he sleeps 😂, but he will still stick around and have the patience and enough persistence for me to realize my only options are
1. Giving in
2. Filing police restriction order
BUT my battery is dying and I need to post this before my outburst of oversharing wipes off and he won’t ever know how much I appreciate and admire him. ( it’s not real until it’s on Instagram 😄)
Happy 24 hour anniversary @judsonmathias, because we celebrate each day

900+ pecans in about 90 mins This is something I learned from a Ted Talk which talks about ingenuity and making something out of nothing.... As a parent... that's one of my skills 1) how do i entertain a bunch of kids at one time

3) how can we get ... 900+ pecans in about 90 mins

This is something I learned from a Ted Talk which talks about ingenuity and making something out of nothing....
As a parent... that's one of my skills
1) how do i entertain a bunch of kids at one time
2) how do i do it without having electronics
3) how can we get the kids to do something active and outside
4) how can we make them harvest food from the Earth to make me some pecan pies?
5) can we do it the asian way (on the cheap)...  #frugalasian

ME: kids... look. think of it like trick or treat except you don't need to wear a costume or ask for candy that will rot your teeth..... And like at Easter where you are hunting for eggs.... you get to hunt for PECANS!

I can pretty much guarantee each of you would get at least 5....
didn't expect ..... 900+ pecans picked. Kids had fun and the parents got to get a ton of free pecans.

I got to explain to them about the State law about thrashing pecan trees (you can't knock a branch or pick pecans off a tree limb as it carries a fine).
3101.010 of the Texas Government Code

Or don't step in dog pop or ant piles while getting your free goodies.

and that you can have the green ones that aren't rip yet or the black ones that you need to tear the covering off of.... PS: there are pecan vendors who will BUY these pecans from you.... mind blown.

PPS: Per serving (1/4 cup) 22g of fat 4g carbs with 3g fiber 3g of protein But wait, there's more! Potassium, magnesium, calcium, copper, and iron.
PPPS: you want that fat.... healthy fat doesn't make you fat. carbs, sugar, bread, pasta do

A few questions that I want to answer under this post since they come non-stop. Here we go:📩 1. What mediums I work with? //Acrylic on canvas. Graphite on paper. Colored pencils on paper. 👩🏻‍🎨2. How many hours can I stay focused for or paint in one day, and how do I do it? //Ten hours or more. I usually work most in the weekends. I work best when I’m alone. I put my phone on do not disturb. I eat very little when I work hardest (probably not to interrupt the flow..?) 🕔🕐🕑🕒🕓 3.Do I have supportive friends and family that encourage me? How do I stay motivated? //The answer will sound harsh but the truth is..the friends that I have maybe say something once or twice a year. And especially the people who say they know me(behind my back). The lyrics of one my fav rappers hit home when he says “These people gon' tell you that you will never make it. Then when you do, they gon' say they knew you were goin' places. That's just how it works, next thing you know you'll be overrated. Hearing people say they miss the "old you, " it's crazy, ain't it?”. -NF//Here is an advice from me don’t wait to eat their crumbs. “Bake your own bread and share it.. show them how it’s done..with or without them.” 🥴4.How can you get to my level if you just recently started painting? //Give yourself time to grow in the gift. Over night results don’t exist. Hard work pays off. If you are watching my skills and hard work .. it took years and thousands of hours to get the work where it is today. I prayed. I cried. I tried and tried again. There is no magic.. only the answer to my prayers as I worked my behind like crazy. 🙏🏻 5.How do I keep my head high after criticism?// I don’t, until I cry it out, I pray it out. I read, walk, ponder, pray some more and talk to Jesus..He is my best friend and He is the One who sustains me through it all. If it was up to my friends, family or public i could’ve starved of affection. But I look to the One who helps me stay humble as I work harder towards the dream He has planted in me. 🌊
That’s that for now.
Thank you for following my journey. ♥

When I work with dog reactive dogs I use a simple 4 step process. Each step takes approximately one week of BT or 1-3 lessons. ♡ Step 1 is foundation training to establish a working relationship with the dog, to build confidence and to teach basic skills such as focus, place, art of doing nothing and heel with auto-sit. Dogs aren’t visibly exposed to other dogs at all in step one. ♡ Step 2 is avoidance, teaching dogs to ignore other dogs and thus breaking the cycle of “I see a dog and I react.” To do this you must have access to calm, stable, balance dogs at first then you build up to dogs who aren’t as well-behaved, and are barking or running around or barking at the dog you’re working with. The objective is for the rehab dog to ignore other dogs regardless of what they’re doing. This is what I show (day 1, session 1) in the last two videos. How this looks/works for each dog varies because each dog is different. ♡ Step three is social skills. Dogs are typically reactive due to excitement or fear (the majority). Reactivity that’s fear-based is typically due to lack of being socialized with other dogs and/or bad experiences with other dogs. Teaching reactive dogs how to interact and “be a dog” with other dogs is important. Again having a balanced, stable pack is mandatory for this. Teaching social skills is a mandatory step in truly rehabbing a dog. And it’s a beautiful thing to witness. ♡ Step four is proofing and generalizing training to the real world. Training isn’t complete if it’s not applicable to real life. If the dog only behaves inside the training building or around the trainer’s dogs, that’s not good enough. If the dog can’t handle walking past reactive dogs, training has failed. If the dog doesn’t behave for a novice, inexperienced handler then the training is lacking. Not all dogs will pass these four steps with flying colors, but the majority do. And that’s the goal. I hope this is helpful for everyone with reactive dogs who wants to know my process for rehabilitation. Rehabbing dogs is simple but not easy ♡

5th Mission: I was assigned to review content from any live show or variety video content ~ so I decided to review “우주소녀 연정 세로캠 - 꿈꾸는 마음으로” for this mission! 💖
- I have decided to review this content, because I have been a HUGE fan of WJSN since their debut and I’ve followed these girls throughout their entire journey! They are incredibly talented and for having 13 members... they do an excellent job sharing the spotlight! This video is a close fancam of Yeonjung’s dance segment on Hello Counselor, this definitely has to be one of my favourite sections on the show when they invite guests~
- The video is so entertaining because she seems so cheerful and happy! Yeonjung was one of the later members to be added to WJSN, and has also gained immense popularity for being a part of IOI. Her vocals are extremely wonderful and her dance skills are more than up to par. I’m so happy that she has gotten a chance to show off her skills in a girl group! 😍
- My favorite part of the video is the clapping and praise an idol gets when they show off their talents. The chants and applause is amazing~💝

My little love, Jet, has taken a super keen interest in cooking with me recently, more so than usual, which absolutely lights my heart up because I LOVE this time with him chatting, chopping, whisking and CONNECTING with each other over food. 😊Also because I know that every slice of a veggie or whisk of an egg helps set him up with LIFE skills that are so incredibly valuable. We mix it up between everyday meals, healthy treats and sometimes more indulgent treats too so he identifies the differences in their ingredients and flavours and can decide for himself which he prefers. More often than not it's the healthy treats because his palette has become accustomed to those flavours. It's actually not his nutritionist mumma standing over him saying 'you can't have that it's not good for you', rather I want to give him the tools which empower his decision making with food and well beyond that too you know? 💭

This is one of our little dessert numbers - CHOC CARAMEL SUNDAE - it's lovely and rich in healthy fats so you actually don't need a massive bowl of it - Jetty and I would share this glass together most likely. 🙂I'll pop the recipe below for you - tell me what do you love cooking with your kids? 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳 Love Jacq and Jet 😚

NUTTIN NASTY CHOC CARAMEL SUNDAE

SERVES 6

GF : DF : SF
2x 400ml tins organic coconut cream
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
1/4 cup cashew butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
Caramel:
1/2 cup medjool dates, pitted
2 tbsp cashew butter
1/4 cup almond milk

Combine coconut cream, raw cacao, cashew butter and maple in a high powered blender or food processor and blitz to combine. Pour into a large loaf or cake tin, cover with cling wrap and set for 8-12 hours. It can of course stay in the freezer longer, however it will harden considerably more and will require 15-20minutes of thawing prior to eating. To make the caramel, combine dates, cashew butter and almond milk in a blender or food processor and blitz into a smooth caramel. When ready to eat, layer the chocolate ice cream and caramel in a glass or jar and enjoy!

1. I live with my hubby and kids on a cropping and cattle farm
2. I have 2.75 kids, 4 y.o Nate, 2 y.o Avie and another due very soon! My family is my world!
3. My hubby and I were in the same class at school. He was the jock and I was the nerd! It was years later that we finally got together.
4. Hubby and I have been together for 11+ years and married for 6.5. That sounds like forever but the time has gone so quick.
5. We were married in the middle of a paddock on our farm. Every morning when we open the curtains we look out to 'the spot'. I think that's awesome!
6. I have two degrees under my belt...nursing and teaching.
7. I now work at my old school as a secondary science/geog teacher. I love my job!
8. I am incredibly shy which makes most people think I'm a snob. I'm really not! Promise!
9. I am the most indecisive person. Ever! It is taking me forever just to think of 10 things to write right now!
10. I love country life and am so thankful to be able to raise my kids in this wonderful small community which has always been my home.

And that's it...pretty boring really...lucky it was only 10 things and not 20!

Today, 25th December 2017, marks my 3rd month into my full-time job!

Never have the 6 y.o. me or anyone in the family have expected I’d wear that odd hat and gown again after K2.

Orchestrated in His plans, I took up competitive swimming and pool lifesaving; lifelong extra-curricular/academic skills were gained. This went on for 10+years?

Passed 3/7 O’s subjects and barely making it to RP. Thank God I graduated fine with Diploma with Merit. 6 y.o. me never had expected to wear that odd gown again. Took O’s English as a private candidate after graduation from RP. Thank God for allocating me in RP; all that verbal and written communication & without any tuition, helped me achieved B4 from D7. Still hated studying at Poly 3. But the passion to venture further into something medical grew and felt the need to further study.

Hated NS, but had to face it regardless and made do with what I have. Prayed and asked to be posted as a medic; a vocation that can equip me with useful skills not just for army.
Checked.

I felt confident with what I had been blessed so far and spurred to “boldly” apply for only local universities. I really wanted to pursue medicine but didn’t have sufficient grades and minimum no. of referrals for it. I prayed if the aim of post-graduate medicine was the way to go. If so, let it be answered with the undergraduate admission letter. This went on for 3 years since graduation from RP.

So done with NTU after staying awake for seemingly 4 years straight. 6 y.o me never would’ve expected this day to be donned in that odd gown and hat. Thank God for my parents; only dad is working & have no CPF as a freelance piano tuner/technician. But saved up just nice since I was a potato to pay off everything from nursery to NTU.

A divine appointment enabled me, the 1/27 applicants from NTU to secure a 6-month internship at SGH. Skills gained during internship + colleague’s referrals helped secured my job in this healthcare institute, as I hoped since NTU Y1. Was also offered an immense amount of leave and 10% more salary than what I quoted. #thankGod

Step by step, in the unknown. More to come.
