If your body stinks then you need to sweat a lot as it would activate your blocked or dead sweat pores in the body. So, just feel ashamed of sweating but only while working out or else if you are sweating unnecessarily, then you should get yourself treated by a dermatologist. most regular deodorants include artificial fragrances and are made to actually stop you from sweating, but all that does it block your pores and sweat glands from doing their job. doesn’t seem legit, right? our bodies are supposed to sweat and get out toxins!

next, there’s also a lot of research out there regarding aluminum and linking it to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s… and guess what, it’s found in most regular deodorants. Yikes 😱

look, I’m not trying to scare you, but I do think it’s important to use something clean and natural, especially when you’re putting it near your lymphnodes (pits) everyday. not being preachy, just here to offer you a different alternative — ultimately it’s up to you! 🙌🏼

In comparison to antiperspirant products, which just like the name implies are anti-perspiration, then no, ours doesn’t work. The reason for this is because it’s a deodorant, which means it deodorises. No natural deodorant is an antiperspirant because ingredients that stop you from sweating by clogging your sweat glands contain aluminium, and putting aluminium under your arms isn’t exactly the most natural thing in the world. Whether a crystal, a paste, or a roll-on like ours, the effectiveness of a deodorant is how well it controls your smelliness. Specifically, we use an alkaline formula to control odour-causing bacteria from throwing a party (no bacteria = no smell), but others like to use essential oils. We’re just not that into smelling like a Tea Tree Forest, and essentials oils can sometimes sting the delicate, thin skin of the armpit. The trade off here is significant, but to be expected: you will still sweat – a natural process, and one we prefer not to mess with.

However, one detox that is not a fad and that doesn’t even cost money is exercise + sweating.

Did you know your subcutaneous fat ( the fat not around your organs) in your body is actually helpful in storing toxins away from the organs for your protection? .
Fat is a storage for both calories and toxins, much like a dumpster. If the toxins stored in your fat get overloaded from an excess of contamination via poor diet, alcohol, environmental toxins, etc. then you will start noticing problems via your metabolic system, skin, circulation, etc.

So when your liver and kidneys become too overloaded to detox your system and are at capacity for what your body can handle, your body will want to release toxins via sweat. Studies have shown that it is possible to sweat out heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic, and lead ( all known endocrine disruptors).

Delighted I have got a period but ... hormone imbalances can make the periods more painful causing higher sensitivity cramping and bloating .. 🐡🐡 .

I’m one who doesn’t sweat much, so I take advantage of saunas. When I was heavy into martial arts, I still didn’t sweat much so I’ve always loved saunas and laying out on the beach. To increase sweat one can increase their fitness activities, intake more water, by wearing sauna suits, adding cayenne pepper 🌶 to drinks or foods (great for blood circulation), dry brushing, using natural soaps and moisturizers on your body, and utilizing saunas.
A few saunas:
Infrared: Far-infrared saunas (FIRS)-Special lamps use light waves to heat a person's body, not the entire room. Temperatures are typically lower than other saunas, but the person sweats in a similar way. Usually, infrared saunas are about 60° Celsius.
Steam: These are different from saunas. Instead of dry heat, a steam room involves high humidity and moist heat.
A few simple precautions to have sauna safety are important for healthy people and heart patients alike. Avoid alcohol before or after your sauna. 15-20 mins is a reasonable time limit for most. Cool down gradually afterward. Although some cultures advocate a plunge into cold water, it produces considerable circulatory stress and should be avoided for those who are not used to it, especially those whose lineage are not from frigid climates.

Oktoberfest in Yokohama with Kimi today! First of all, let me just say that it was hot as hell with no clouds and over 90% humidity. I don't think I've ever missed dry heat so much in my life. I wore shorts and my legs were sweating-- What the hell is that about?? Refused to wear shorts the rest of this trip because it grossed me out. Anyways, we arrived a little after it opened and it was jammed packed with people. There were so many vendors and foods we wanted to try but the translations were too funny for me to take seriously. I will say though, the gnocchi with the mushroom sauce was probably one of the best things I've ever eaten and it was literally scooped out of a cheese barrel! We had to sit outside and barely got a seat there which made it hard to enjoy though. After our beers and food we had to escape, so we went into the Red Brick Warehouse to cool down. Inside, I won a 500¥ coupon (idk how...) and quickly fell into the Sugi Bee trap that nearly every visiting UC student has fallen victim to. Bought one for a Christmas gift after trying way too many samples even though I wanted to buy everything for myself. Later, we ate some more food, sampled a bunch of sake, and bought a few other Christmas gifts too. It was a nice day and we got to enjoy a cooler night when we left but it was still far too humid for me to handle. I have never sweat out alcohol so quickly in my life... Felt that beer in my pores... 🙃

I have the SECRET to being a consistent exerciser...it's a technique I call:

Habit First, Effort Later

First get into the habit of just SHOWING UP. Don't worry about sweating & killing yourself with EFFORT.

EXAMPLE of Habit First, Effort Later:
Yesterday I didn't feel like exercising. So I told myself all you gotta do is SHOW UP. Meaning...just get exercise clothes on, go to the gym, walk the slowest mile of your life on the treadmill, and then leave. No sweat or effort necessary.

And guess what happened? Getting dressed and walking a slow mile didn't seem so hard, so I was able to SHOW UP...and once I was on the treadmill I wanted to do much more than a slow mile. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BOTTOM LINE:
First create the HABIT of getting dressed & doing a "little" something.

Once you show up, most days you'll want to put in more EFFORT than you thought. You'll want to walk a little further/faster, lift a little heavier, or spin a little faster. Naturally.

Back in the day holiday time was the worst time because I couldn’t trust myself around treats, so then I’d punish myself with extensive cardio workouts to burn lots of calories.
I was doing it ALL WRONG! 😭
Candy is candy. If we eat some we choose a fun treat that maybe doesn’t serve as great fuel, but that doesn’t make us ANY LESS GREAT.
Take your worth out of the equation of food AND exercise.
I promise, we make much better choices if we see a food choice as just a FOOD choice and not a worthiness choice in jeopardy.
You are divine! No food will ever change that.
Once we separate our actions from our worth, the shame we might feel from eating a food we’ve labeled as “bad” will slowly dissipate until we’re eating because we love our body and working out because we want to celebrate it. 🎉

Instead what I noticed from this shot was that even though today’s leg workout was a light one, I still managed to ring up a whole lot of sweat 💦 .. It doesn’t necessarily mean I’m burning more calories than the next person. Generally, physically fit people sweat sooner. Therefore, It simply means my thermoregulation system (aka air conditioning) kicked in quick causing my body to pour mass amounts of sweat during my training.. .
.
I only point this out because I think a lot of people in the beginning stages of fitness compare themselves to the person in their gym who is drenched in sweat💦 Possibly thinking they’re not going as hard, even though they might be doing the same workouts. .
.
So don’t sweat not sweating just yet. As long as you stay consistent and continue move at your pace, you’re going to see the result you want. Stay focused!

Split Jumps
Fast Feet
Lateral Bounds
Burpees

Instructions:

Do 3 sets of 15-20 reps of Burpees, lateral bounds and split jumps. Then 30-60 seconds of Fast feet. At the end of the third set, you should be sweating rivers. But that's what we want right?😉😉 .

Then came the unboxing which involved sweat, pictures being knocked over, lots of pulling, pushing, sweating, and more sweating. Once unwrapped that mattress swelled up to the size of the room I was in, nearly trapping me and my sweat drenched body (being a little dramatic). Just in case you didn’t know, just because you’re sweating 😓 a lot doesn’t mean you’re burning more calories. What burns calories is doing WORK! ⁣

Some people sweat more than others naturally and also the more hydrated you are the more you tend to sweat. But I can promise you someone who sat in the sauna for 1 hour is burning NOWHERE near the calories of someone who lifted weights for an equal amount of time. ⁣

People tend to equate sweating with burning calories because of the frequent quick weight loss that occurs after sweating due to loss of fluid. I can guarantee once you are again hydrated you will gain the weight back and you won’t have burned very many calories at all. ⁣

Moral of this long post: if you want to lose weight, WORK HARD! ⁣

Took some shots ok got some decent ones (the thunder gets louder) I’m forced to put up my camera and tripod and hurry and get in the house. As soon as i got in quickly got undressed to cool myself off turned on some Toni just to keep out all negative thoughts and change my slightly frustrated mood. So here’s the outcome. But seriously, I've been sweating a lot more than normal and definitely adjusting to the humidity since it's not a climate I typically train in. It gets slightly humid in Santa Monica but nothing like this.

I can also tell how QUICKLY I fatigue. I've set out for runs this week and a couple miles in I already feel like I've gone 8 miles. People highly underestimate how heat & humidity can play a major role in training (myself included)
••
Have I been crushing my workouts this week?? Not really (compared to normal). But I also know my body has tapped out early because of the heat and I've been listening to the cues.
••
Couple of things I wanted to share:
👉🏼Drink more water than your think you need to. I cannot express enough how important that is. You are losing DOUBLE the amount of water when you sweat in climates like this. So you have to be diligent about drinking it especially if you are spending a lot of time outside
••
👉🏼If you feel dizzy at all - stop what you are doing (whether its exercising or just doing tasks around the house). Take a breather, get in a pool or cold water/cold water towel on your head, COOL YOURSELF DOWN. There were tons of times this week I felt like my body was overheating and I was quick to listen.

I grew up in Arizona so I'm used to training in the heat but I also know how intensely it can take a toll on your body. So if nothing else, I just wanted to share what I did this week differently and how in tune to my body I tried to stay. I can push much harder at home in 70 degrees, light breeze, light humidity but the reality is THIS ISN'T HOME and I CAN’T push like that.

Blister? Band Aid. Headache, allergies or a stomach ache? I got you. Advil ✔️Claritin ✔️ Pepto chewables ✔️... I’ve got wet wipes, a nail file, sunblock, charger cords & chargers and I’m sure many of my friends can confirm that they’ve used my purse services. 😂 However, when I leave the country, there’s like a whole other level of preparedness I *try* to reach. So upon doing my research for China, I added some necessitates that were pretty much lifesaving to my repertoire. First let me start by saying that I’m an SPF 100 stay out of the sun when I can sort of gal. I knew it would be hot in China, but the amount of sweating I did was unreal. I was sweating in places I didn’t know I could sweat. The UV umbrella I bought from Amazon was a true lifesaver. Ok here we go... speaking of sweat. Ladies with big boobs. How do you do it??? I don’t have much to deal with in that department and the boob sweat was no joke. I’m seriously throwing away my bras & getting new ones! My point? Bring like 4 bras so you can alternate! 😂 Underwear. Bring SO many! I no joke went through 24 in 2 weeks. Wore my last clean pair on the plane ride home. SO. MUCH. SWEAT. In fact I’ve made a helpful collage for you in this slide show with several things you will NEED when traveling somewhere this hot. Let’s just say that all members of my household were using feminine hygiene products within a few days of being so hot & humid. That chafing gel btw is heaven sent when you don’t have a thigh gap & it’s too hot to wear leggings. Also, the little deodorant ball I got at Target is a new fave. I broke it out daily to refresh. Also used on thighs in a pinch. Be prepared to squat and pee in a hole. Sometimes with no door. And you’ll probably pee on yourself at least once. Look for 4 star toilets! Advice cont. in comments! 😂

For me, I love the idea of sweating in the gym. I even got into wearing a sweat belt while I work out because it helps me sweat even more. Sounds gross, but if I am not drenched in sweat and my hair is still dry by the end of my workout, I'll usually go do something else and push as hard as I can go. Same concept in terms of energy lately. If I have the energy to do more, I'll do more than what I originally expected to do.

Give 110% in everything you are working towards, and then reach for a little more. Over time that will pay off, no matter how insignificant it seems right now.

I believe favor is the product that God uses to make our life look easy when in fact we have leaped over troops and run through walls. Favor can deceive the untrained eye. It will have you thinking there will be no tears in the midnight hour. Favor doesn’t eliminate problems it just gives the reassurance that the problem solver is on your side and the fight is fixed.
If we have the wrong perception of favor we can get stuck in fear and anxiety. When we are challenged in life we retreat instead of marching forward. We don’t fight the good fight of faith, we drop our vision & goals and head for the cave of frustration. The presence of fear doesn’t denote the absence of favor. We all have the fight or flight instinct when we are in tentative situations. However fear should give way to faith when we know we are in God’s hands. One thing I find interesting in the book of Genesis, it never mentions Joseph was afraid. Common sense would lend us to believe a healthy dose of apprehension had to surround him. Joseph didn’t dwell in fear, however, he resisted fear for favor. Joseph repeatedly made healthy choices to promote his faith over his fear. Does fear have you stagnate? Are you paralyzed by the unknown?  It’s time to be free of fear and walk in your favor. Fear can no longer keep you hostage. God wants to release His favor in your life. Are you ready to receive? Let me help you overcome the fear factor.

The opposite may, however, be true in a hot environment. We sweat to cool the body when overheated, if the cooling effect of evaporation can be promoted and prolonged, it may extend our relief when faced with hot temperature hunting situations.

Women seem to sweat less and start to sweat at higher temperatures than men. People tend to sweat less as they grow old and thus cannot take the heat as well as a younger person but declining fitness levels may have something to do with that. In laboratory experiments where both young and old people were of similar fitness levels, there was no notable difference in their sweating process.
If you exercise in an air-conditioned room or outside when it's a cooler time of year, you will not sweat as much because the cold air evaporates your sweat faster and also sets your body up to use more of the radiation method meaning your body can deal with the heat created by exercise more easily. It does not mean you are not burning as many calories because the intensity and length of time of your exercise is what determines caloric burn, not how much you sweat. A stroll... No fast pace no sweating. I was just being lazy once again telling myself "well atleast you walked." Today I planned on being so extremely lazy. As I sat on my couch watching tv, not planning to move until I absolutely had to, I started thinking about where I started, how much weight I had worked hard to lose, and how much weight I have gained (4lbs) I don't want to go back, I cant, I wont! So I got up and I took my happy butt to the gym and damn it felt good. Today is the very last day of @vanswarpedtour and I have been putting off writing this in hopes that it wouldn't be the end and it was all just a dream. The first Warped I went to was in 2010, just graduated high school and I guess the beginning of where my 'lifestyle' changed. I was bright eyed going ... Today is the very last day of @vanswarpedtour and I have been putting off writing this in hopes that it wouldn't be the end and it was all just a dream. The first Warped I went to was in 2010, just graduated high school and I guess the beginning of where my 'lifestyle' changed. I was bright eyed going into pits, sweating like a fool along with everyone else, and concentrating mostly to make sure no crowd surfer fell as I continued screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs. Summer meant Warped. Counting down the days until it was my date. I got my first photo pass at warped. I've met so many of my favorite bands. I have scars that will always be remembered and probably concussions I should have got checked out. It was in no way a glamourous event; every time driving home feeling like you were covered in sweat, blood, glitter, paint, beer. Just everything. But it didn't matter how exhausted I was after it and if I questioned why I went so hard each time, because I would be counting down the days until the next warped dates were posted. It's an experience that has changed my way of listening to bands, meeting new people, and simply growing up. So thank you Kevin Lyman for creating something that has changed so many people's lives. It's been a beautiful experience.
