Marketing has destroyed what people know about health... it’s specifically targeted at people who are struggling... you’ve been convinced that this supplement, that yoyo diet, this arm blasting workout, his or her secret gym routine, etc etc etc will make your dreams come true.... but they wont.

This gossip has been spread by the ignorant... the ego driven bros and bro-ettes who either refuse to learn, or lie about their steroid use so they can leach every dime they can off of the weak.

The internet can take the truth or they can hate on me ... I don’t really care, I’ll preach the truth regardless...but here it is; getting fit is really not that hard...all you have to do is this; embrace the fact that you don’t know sh*t, and SEEK the information... thats really it

If you live during the information age, with access to the internet, that you are on right now, but you don’t have the answers to your health problem... then you are choosing ignorance... plain and simple... you are CHOOSING to not know ... so that you have an excuse to not sacrifice... thats really it... its human psychology

All the #fitness “icons” don’t want you to know that the “secrets” to fitness are available and free online... you just have to put in some effort to google and research... and the answers are there... but we as humans tend to convince ourselves all the fit people have some secret supplement, or plan, or workout, that we need... but we don’t need that sh*t... what we need is self awareness to snap ourselves out of this #mentality , get us off our asses, and onto the internet for some LEARNING...

Once upon a time I would go to the gym for hours, usually because of a binge. I knew I needed to balance the amount I was eating in secret, so hours of cardio at the gym it was. #yikes
Once I found lifting weights, HIIT, & other forms of effective training methods, I began to eat well to fuel for those sessions. Those sessions were short & intense, and my fuel was nutrient-packed & balanced. My eating habits improved, my physique improved & my mental health improved. 🙌🏼
Eat to get strong and fit, don’t workout BECAUSE of something you ate. 🙅🏼‍♀️ That’s doing the equation backwards and can likely lead to disordered eating/workout habits.
Learn from my mistakes, please!

Calm down! Let ya’ boi explain...

I don't hate working out by any means.

But(t🍑) if it’s Friday night and you’re asking me if I wanna go hit a workout or see the new Incredibles movie, I’m responding with, “what do you think... Butter or no butter?” 🍿🤔

I know this is valuable info to share, too.

You see all these fitness models & personalities on Instagram with their #GymRats or #FitnessFreak #’s praising their love for pumping iron...

And you might think there's something wrong with you since you don't share to same *gusto* for workout out.

Well, I'm here to tell you that you do NOT need to fall in love with exercise.

Of course, you can (and should) learn to value it, but don't think you have to make the gym your second home to see results.

One of the best ways you can reap the benefits of exercise, and learn to enjoy it in the process, is by making it a healthy habit in your life.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to get started:

1. Do it First Thing in The Morning ☕️ - you'll get it out of the way and start your day with a win.

2. Set Out Clothes The Night Before 🌙 - this will make it easier to get up and go

3. Put It In Your Schedule 📅 - that way you can't make excuses when it comes time to actually do it.

4. Follow a Set Workout Routine 📝 - this makes your workout more productive and time-efficient.

5. Don't Start Out Doing Too Much 😰 - doing too much will only lead to burnout. Start small and slowly work your way up.

6. Workout With Friends 🤜🤛 - to build accountability and make it fun.

7. Combine it With Chores 🐕 - this goes back to making exercise more time-efficient.

8. Something Beats Nothing 👍 - a 20-minute walk beats no walk at all.

9. Make Sure It's Goal-Focused 🏋️‍♀️ - wanna build muscle? Lift weights. Wanna improve your cardiovascular health? Do more cardio.

My mornings start at 6:00 am 🐣with a 40-min circuit training workout! This has been my favorite type of exercise for years now and I believe that starting my day with it has been my secret to staying motivated all through the day 💪🏽💦. Currently, I’m using the Nike Training Club App and on the 4-week lean challenge program! Post-workout and shower, I make a hearty green juice 🥒 to kickstart the metabolism and get a daily dose of vitamins and antioxidants! Then I quickly dress and head to work 🚗. I like to arrive at work at 8:00 am so that I can have a lovely hour of “me-time” to read and have my breakfast (today i enjoyed a warm bowl of oatmeal) 📖☕️. Your routine saves you time because it’s something that you’ve crafted ahead of time, to help you be as productive and efficient as possible, and you’re able to execute it without hesitation. Whether it’s your morning routine, your kids’ bedtime routine, your workout routine, or your routine to get your house work done, you need to have a consistent routine. Lack of a daily routine can actually create anxiety for you (and your kids too), and set you up for lots of stress, disappointment, and a serious lack of productivity. Another thing you need to recognize is that, even if you have a solid routine in place, it may need to change from time to time (like when you have a new baby, start a new job, or change your health and fitness goals). But in lieu of those unique circumstances, you should do your best to stick to your routine, by any means necessary. Don’t let anyone, or anything distract you from your routine. Your daily routine is another key to your success.

I stayed active during both of my pregnancies, which I worked out a little differently the second time around to protect my core more from getting a large #abseparation #postpartum again.

My body created two tiny humans, miracles inside of me. I gained 20lbs with both and watched my belly grow and grow.🤰🏻 Exercising during my pregnancies did so much for me, mentally, emotionally and physically, helped with postpartum recovery, and most of all I feel exercise really benefited my two babies.🤱
I made being pregnant more of a reason to make health, mindset and self-care a priority. Taking care of my #innerself was a huge priority then and still is (which I am excited to add in NEW content to my #pregnancy workout program with more #mindset tips). Last couple months I've had to be pretty strategic with my time! It would be easy to say screw it and not workout because I never have a large block of time. But either I get up and do a movement flow or I squeeze in a 30 minute circuit.

If you can't get in a 1 1/2 hour workout every day because life is busy, it's ok!! You will survive!! Lol but don't not do it!! Move every day in some way for 30 mins. Keep that habit and consistency.

There are 4 things that will stop you from reaching a health goal:
1. Thinking it is an all or nothing adventure with a strict timeline.
2. Not changing as you change. Psst I have a secret for you.... As you age your body isn't the same! So don't treat it like you are 25 if you are 45. Go with the flow and adjust your goals and your how you approach your health.
3. LACK OF PATIENCE. if your goal is all around how you look and that is your focus, you never see all the great things that do change. More energy, better relationship with food and happiness. If you need to see dramatic change in a month, you need to evaluate why? Putting how you look a main goal is why you never see change. Change your habits to more positive ones, this includes attitude, better sleep, reducing stress, finding a way of eating that suits you best, working out smart and enjoying it, and most of all getting out of your own way!!
4. Stop comparing yourself to others!! Especially if you are totally different body types with totally different lifestyles. You aren't them and they aren't you. Be Inspired by their devotion to being healthy but don't ever ask why you don't look like them. That answer is so obvious. Because you aren't them!!! _______________________________
Let's face it, we are our own worse enemy, aren't we?
Less stress + right plan + positive attitude + patience MEANS SUCCESS!! ______________________________

Now what!? Yesterday I went to an Italian restaurant for a bridal shower. I ate things that I would normally not eat such as pasta.🍝 Yes I am Italian but I typically eat spinach pasta, buckwheat pasta or super greens pasta which has broccoli, parsley, kale etc. However my body was telling me “I want that” so I had it!

The food was amazing but I was definitely stuffed afterwards. I didn’t workout in the morning so I was feeling very sluggish. The last thing I wanted to do was a workout.

Here’s the thing.
⠀⠀
If you look at going out to eat or eating something you normally wouldn’t eat as “falling off track”, you will CONTINUE to move in that direction for the rest of the day.
⠀⠀
You’ll skip the gym because you’re tired and already “messed up”. You’ll eat something unhealthy because you already went off track.
⠀⠀
BUT... Instead you can say this is a lifestyle I didn’t mess up because I listened to my body.
⠀⠀
When I got home I was exhausted but since this is a lifestyle to me, I put on my running shoes, put on some good music and got in a great chest & tricep workout and felt amazing afterwards.

So if you lost motivation, your eating has been off , you haven’t been working out and you are looking to get back to it... Guess what?

Last night I got a message that a lot of fitness people may get, that was a “suggestion” from someone to do more abs and that I’ve probably hit a plateau in my fitness journey. Probably a harmless message from him, but this actually hurt me. I didn’t ask for his suggestion, nor do I think there is anything wrong with my body. Anyway, I’ve been a fitness/health and wellness lover for about 5 years now, and the one thing I wish I knew when I began is that there is no perfect body type other than the one you’re rocking 😎🙋🏻‍♀️.

All I know is when I first started I could barely squeeze into my skinny jeans, was NOT one who just ‘bounced back’ had a long way to pre baby, had no knowledge in health and fitness and mostly all my activities when I was younger centered around sports. So a workout at home sort of thing was like putting a square peg into a round hole. .

So navigating the whole ‘new mom lifestyle’ was extremely challenging. I honestly just wanted to rock some jeans and not have to change 10x before going out! And I’m a coach I guess I’ll start “coaching people” also a seriously weird term I had to get use to!

I always tell my challengers and coaches ‘IF I CAN DO THIS SO CAN YOU’ I don’t have a secret recipe, I don’t have ay magic tricks, it’s one workout, one day, or conversation after another, but always showing up when someone needs me and that is what creates a ripple effect. .

We all have to start somewhere and I am so happy I said YES to that opportunity so long ago as shy, insecure as I was to get started! Now I am here to lead others on their own path to success! I am here to show regular women that it you can follow your dreams and succeed!! .
If I would of quit when it got hard or when people told me NO... I can’t imagine where I would be today!! .

I expected that, but didn’t think it would take this long to figure out😳

I started to be tough on myself. I started to think and tell myself that I wasn’t as good as the other moms out there. I started thinking I should just accept the fact that I can’t handle everything. I started being mean to myself, which led to me being more and more lazy.
I knew something needed to change when I found myself feeling sad when I would look at Eastlyn. Feeling sad that she had me as a mom, and thinking she deserves better.

Luckily I noticed those emotions and feelings and knew they meant I needed to get to work! I decided I would start going to the gym everyday. They have childcare for 2 hours, so I’ve been using Beachbody on Demand and working out for an hour, and then taking a shower and getting ready for the day. The simple act of taking care of ME every day, has made a HUGE difference! I think I have accomplished more in the past 7 days than I have since Eastlyn has been born! Lol
So why do I keep coaching? Why haven’t I quit. This is why. I need it for me and my health. And I want to help others who are feeling the same way I did!
They say exercise is the most under utilized antidepressant, and I absolutely agree!

Today’s upper body strength session was a perfect example of how simple your training can be. Basic exercises that I consistently perform week on week to improve the strength, performance and look of my upper body.

1) Pull Ups = 3 x 10-12
SUPERSET
Press Ups = 3 x 12
2) Standing DB OHP = 2 x 8
3) Bench Press = 3 x 6
4) DB Bent Over Rows = 3 x 12
SUPERSET
Seated DB Lat Raises = 3 x 12
5) Tricep Dips = 3 x 10
SUPERSET
Ab Wheel Roll Outs = 3 x 12

But it's those moments where I've learned to slow myself down and just be thankful that I've come this far. It can be hard, especially when we are often times our worst critiques, but it's so important to remember the person you used to be has led you to the amazing person you are now! .

Same thing goes for good nutrition. It’s easy for me to resist unhealthy foods because I don’t feel good after and what matters to me MOST is how I feel. Our emotions are so connected to our health, fitness, and nutrition. Keeping a diet full of greens, superfoods, and antioxidants just makes me a happier person! Located just minutes away from the American departures hall, the Fairmont Vancouver Airport’s health club can be yours for just $18 a visit. (This entrance fee includes full use of all workout equipment, saunas, pools and showers.) The equipment, which received an upgrade in January, includes free weights, treadmills, rowing machines and more. Marine types can also while away in the three-lane lap pool swimming against a self-adjusted current. If you’re a member of the Fairmont Presidents Club (a free loyalty program anyone can join), you can take advantage of the hotel’s Fairmont FIT program, which rents out Adidas workout gear (that’s clothing and sneakers) plus yoga mats, MP3 players, etc.—get the entire lot for just $10, or free if you’ve reached premier or platinum status.

No matter what terminal you’re in at Singapore’s Changi Airport, your workout needs will be well-met. Here, Terminals 1–3 are all equipped with a fitness lounge courtesy of Ambassador Terminal Hotel. Sure, I might have worked up a good sweat, & “felt better after my workout,” but none of these things ever gave me the results I was looking for when it came to adding muscle in the places I wanted it 🍑💪🏼

They just kept me exhausted, injured, messed up my hormones & made me think “more is better” - when I can promise you, IT’S NOT!! 🚫

Tons of chronic cardio, doing low/no weight exercises, not eating enough & never letting your body rest & recover is a recipe for disaster! 😬 *if you do any of these things & they work for you, then keep doing your thing! 👋🏼 I just know from my own personal experience they were no bueno 😭

Instead, here’s the secret formula I’ve found for adding some healthy, “toned” muscle 💪🏼 (*and no, you don’t HAVE to do this, or want to get “toned” or even workout at all for that matter - this is just for those of you who keep pushing & pushing wondering why your body never changes... & actually ends up getting worse 😬)

Back off the cardio - some cardio can be good for heart health, but it can also be TOO much for a lot of people (causing lots of cortisol issues) especially if you’re doing it chronically. If you’re addicted to cardio, I encourage you to back off a bit (or altogether!) & let your body chill a bit 🙏🏼

Lift HEAVY weights consistently - you don’t have to be an Olympic power-lifter, but for your muscles to grow you have to actually challenge them ☝🏼 the 2 & 5 lb dumbbells probably aren’t going to do the trick 🤔

Eat enough food - you don’t have to force feed yourself just like you don’t have to starve yourself. Eat enough food for YOU. Your muscles need calories to grow 🍌🥑🥦🍎
.
And most importantly, be sure to rest, relax, take FULL (not “active rest” days 🙄) & be patient. It takes time, so don’t get in a rush. Look at it as a lifestyle, not just another 6 week challenge 🙌🏼

It’s been a sort of healing for me and so many amazing changes have taken place both mentally as well as physically. I will honestly never be the same. I think the combination of exercise and eating clean has been the secret sauce for me. It really is potent. Worth every workout. Worth every clean meal, worth turning down junk food. Worth being consistent, worth gaining control, worth making sacrifices, worth it in the end to not only over come so much mental garbage, but to loose 8 sizes......it was worth it. 💪🏻🔥Evaluate where you are at. Maybe you are great with the exercise, but your eating is honestly not so good. Maybe your eating is healthy but you don’t get much exercise. Try really hard to combine the two and see if that doesn’t make a big difference. In the picture we have 2 guys, same height and same weight!

The World Health Organization, use this calculation (B.M.I.) to check the Obesity Index but the question is: Is this the best way to know if you are fat??? Long time ago it was great, people didnt use to do exercises and we had a lot sedentaries in the world. Today the BMI is not the best way to check it.

The BMI use the body weight and height to make the calculation, so, if one athlete (bodybuilder) has 5'11'' and 240lbs and another guy (non athlete) has 5'11'' and 240lbs, they have same BMI and they are considered obese.
The BMI doesn't consider the quantity of muscle the person has.
So the best way to check is the BFT (Body Fat Test), on Body Fat Test you can check the percentage of fat and Lean Body Mass, with this info you can tell if the guy has too much fat or not and can plan the best way to manage his percentage, best way to burn body fat and best way to increase the LBM.

I use to make the BFT in all my students and athletes, this is the way I have to reach my clients goals faster than many other coaches.
I know more than everybody?? Nope, I dont know more and I didnt say this. The BFT is not a secret but I know exactly how to use this to take advantage and put my students/athletes in better shape!

You should work out to be healthy, to take care of your body, to be stronger, to be more flexible, to feel good... and yes it can HELP you lose weight.

The secret to true health is this: drink more water, workout to feel good, and eat to fuel your body properly. Now for me, and maybe you can relate, the first two aren’t that hard. I can drink more water and I can do a simple 20-30 min workout everyday. The food part... well that’s harder for me. I’m excited though... I’m going to start a new, nutrition based program. Fully focused on eating better, retraining my brain on how I think about food, get over the emotional eating and live my best life that doesn’t revolve around counting food, points or restriction. 🙌🏼 AND, workouts are not even required... more like a bonus for your body to feel good but totally not necessary! •

I wondered how hard it was to eliminate or reduce the amount of added sugar in a person’s diet. I came across this item in @asda
This regular Blue Dragon chilli sauce is £1.50, however the reduced sugar version is £2.00. This got me to thinking. You obviously CAN put a price on health, and big companies have realised this and increased the cost of “healthier” foods, praying on the fears and insecurities of the public.
It would be nice to think Asda and Blue Dragon UK could investigate this and perhaps adjust the pricing, or at least give us an answer as to why these low sugar products are so much more expensive.
I’m not just picking on these as I know that sometimes it is cheaper and easier to grab some junk food than to pick items and cook. Hence the rise in consumption of fast food etc.
At a time when obesity is at an all-time high, but public awareness is also on the increase it would be nice to see some of these larger companies help the public, by making these “healthier” options more cost effective. (That is as political as I get!) Charles Townend

When I started this Instagram I kept it a secret for many reasons, mostly because I felt like a fraud. I had just started lifting and didn’t know what I was doing (lol I still don’t know a ton), but I kept consistent and kept at it, educating myself via YouTube (shoutout @jeffnippard and @paulrevelia). What started as a pastime shaped me into someone I am proud of, with friends and family who respect my new found goals. I have so far to go, but please if someone out there thinks they aren’t capable of making progress or getting over their fear of the gym U ARE DUDE AND U DONT NEED A THOUSAND DOLLAR FITNESS PLAN TO DO IT EITHER HAHA YOU A BOSS ASS BITCH. People do not need each other, they complete each other ... not because they are halves, but because they are whole, willing to share common goals, joys and life.

Over time, you will realize that to be happy with the other person, you need to first, not need it. Realize also that the person you love (or think you love) and who wants nothing to do with you is definitely not the man or woman of your life.

We missed our workout with @fitnesspnp this am but no biggie since he’s taught us how to track our food (we love the free version of My Fitness Pal!) to take a good look at what we are putting in our bodies + taught us some fab core workouts we can do from home. After a month of training with Will @fitnesspnp, we are 4” thinner and are both down a few lbs... 🙌🏼💃🏻 It feels good to put our health first and also cut back on the sauce (Diet Coke) but mostly to set a good example for the littles. ⁣⁣
