Efter en kæmpe succes med online team-konkurrence i CFC sidste år, er vi nu klar med et opdateret koncept, hvor du kan konkurrere sammen med din yndlings Crossfit-ven mod resten af Crossfit Copenhagen.
Her er 6 ting du skal vide om CFC-LIGA 2018
1. Alle deltager i teams af 2; 1 mand/1 kvinde.
Hver uge vil der være en scaled og en RX version af ugens WOD.
2. I skal lave en profil på CFCliga.boxpeak.com og tilmelde jer som hold.

3. Hver mandag i oktober frigives en ny workout. Gennemfør workouten og upload jeres score senest søndag kl. 23:00 I kan løbende følge scoreboardet online.
4. Top 3 placeringer vil blive bedt om videodokumentation af de 4 workouts. Hvis i ikke forventer at gøre jer gældende i eliten, så er det tilstrækkeligt at blive dømt af et erfarent medlem, der tidligere har dømt Open.

5. Der må kun være 1 træner/konkurrenceatlet på et hold. Altså kan et hold ikke bestå af en træner og en konkurrenceatlet, eller af 2 trænere osv. Med konkurrenceatlet menes medlemmer der konkurrerer i CrossFit på højere niveau - hvis du er i tvivl, så er du nok konkurrenceatlet.

6. Top 3 teams i både RX og Scaled division får naturligvis flotte præmer!
Vi glæder os til at finde de stærkeste CrossFit-venner i CFC, og endnu mere til at lave en sjov konkurrence, som ALLE kan deltage i uanset niveau.

💪PARKING –
Please do not park on Greenfield Ave. Our neighbors have kindly allowed us to close the street, and we need to minimize our impact on them by parking on other streets.
We suggest parking in Creek Park parking lot, just down the street from RVC (bring quarters). There is also a lot of parking at Safeway Community Market, as well as along Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and San Anselmo Ave. Please arrive early enough to find your spot for the day.

There will be a food vendor on site selling paleo/non-paleo food all day!

We're planning on sun! Half of our WOD's will occur outside. Please bring any cover/shelter you’ll be comfortable in for the day; there will be space available for tents.

STANDING LOWER: Alec (lower right leg impairments) made a simple setup adjustment by adding pates under his heels for extra ankle flexion and widened his stance to be able to squat to parallel

STANDING UPPER: Logan (Single-Arm Athlete) substituted the medicine ball for a sandbag due to his single point of contact/grip

SEATED: Kevin and Stouty (SCI athletes) decided to do this workout out of their chairs to add some balance and midline challenges. They adapted the MBC to a ground-to-shoulder (which is about the same task) and altered the row to 250m (from the Standings 400m run)

Key takeaway is that all three different athlete classes retained the originally intended stimulus of the workout

I have never done a specific prenatal workout but I can almost guarantee I wouldn’t like them. They aren’t “enough” for me. I do have access to hundreds of workouts at my fingertips & I write my own so that’s what I do. I’ve found that any cardio besides walking is not good for me. Yay! 😝 And weight training is still my go-to, but I’ve lightened the load quite a bit. My fave workout lately has been Chalean Extreme because it’s slower and more concentrated, allowing me to focus on specific muscle groups while trying to tighten my core, which gets harder every day.
Some people can still go hardcore while pregnant, while others can’t hardly do more than walk....

I prefer these methods of training over anything else. For years, I was a straight bodybuilder, but it wasn’t until I started adding in all these fun (and quite frankly, badass) methods of training, that my strength, performance and aesthetics progressed at a faster rate.

There is nothing more gratifying than jumping around and being able to work at capacity while also being strong AF. It’s the holy grail to me.
.
I respect all athletes and all styles of training. Every single one takes a whole lot of discipline and dedication. But my heart is happiest when I can run through a circuit or WOD with stamina, while throwing around weight heavier than my kids.
.
That shit feels good. And so does the view of my back in a mirror. Because it’s a reminder of all the sweaty, determined, and grueling hours that made it.

Thinking harder, longer or more frequent workouts are key. Harder is not better, smarter is better. Remember the Goldilock's principle.. not too much, not too little, but just right.

Focusing on fun over effectiveness. Fun workouts are not the same as effective workouts. They may be, but they often are not. The more varied a workout gets the less effective it is. The body requires overload and progressive resistance. This means repeated moves again and again with increased load.
#
A focus on breathlessness as the determinant of a good workout. Breathlessness is one good biofeedback signal, but it is inadequate by itself. To change the way the body looks you need the burn and heavy component as well. Most people focus too much on getting breathless and not enough on the burn and heavy strain inducing weights.
#
Focusing on new over what works. If you like variety fine, just realize you will be entertained and you will certainly improve your health, but you will likely see little change in your physique. The basics repeated again and again are what works.
#
Muscle confusion is a nonsense concept. The only thing it confuses is how to develop a fit looking body.
#
Trying to win a fitness race versus building a better looking body. Focusing on how you are improving in your workouts and whether you are the first to finish a WOD is not wrong, it just may interfere with getting the look you want from your body. A fit looking body means a focus on quality over quantity. It means basic moves. It means overload and progressive resistance. It has nothing to do with how fast you can finish a workout.

Lack of understanding of how exercise impacts diet. Too many do not realize their habit of overexercising is directly related to their habit of overeating. You can't build a better looking body without the right diet and you can't stick to the right diet if your hunger and cravings are through the roof because you are obsessed with overexercising.

I started crossfit by joining the new you challenge and see what kind of difference I could make and see if crossfit was for me or not.
My favorite move would be rope climbs! 
My favorite meal would be sweet potato twice baked with ground turkey, peppers and spices.
My favorite workout would be any hero wods. I love honoring line of duty deaths by remembering the hero’s. They are challenging workouts and I always feel an accomplishment by doing them. 
My Favorite thing about CFM is the comradery  everyone has and the upbeat feel and motivation during the WOD. I feels like a family and everyone cheering everyone on. It’s a great feeling. 
My greatest obstacle when starting was having the time and keeping with it. I was able to overcome this by making the time by getting up for the ‪06:15‬ class and being present. 
Outside the gym I have seen a great improvement in my long distance cycling. This summer I biked over 560 miles ‪in 5 days‬ and felt amazing. I had the cardio and mental determination to keep going. Thanks to CFM it kept my training in line and my overall health is better then before.

7. STRETCH

The fact is, our bodies DO matter.
And, truth be told, I want to LOOK GOOD NAKED, DAMNIT!

Just because I don’t talk about it as much anymore, doesn’t mean that my fitness isn’t a priority.

I’ve gotten many DM’s asking me specifically about what I do for my workouts these days and many compliments on my physique… and I guess it really isn’t fair to keep it a secret!

One inch limb difference can mean a huge deal to functionality so we are all so very different! This strapping is a good example of a more functional movement compared to so many examples out there that put immense stains on the body and bring about imbalances in the body which result many times in injury! Why I started CrossFit?

Three years ago, @mloo95 pulled me out of nowhere at the involvement fair and said, “you look like you CrossFit!” I knew I needed something to stay active and a group to get involved in. I went to my first workout and the rest is history. I fell in love with the lifestyle and found my best friends here. It has given me a new freedom to live and has most definitely changed who I am. .
Why do I coach?

I love to share my passions with others. It is amazing to see people learn new things and accomplish things they never thought they could. It not only helps me as an athlete, but helps me as a person in general. Its refreshing to teach someone something for the first time and to see them grow throughout the year. The community aspect of CrossFit is something that is special to me. You’re not done your workout until the last person finishes. .
Biggest Achievement in CrossFit?

It isn’t a lift I hit or a workout, but rather the fact that it has changed who I am. I have grown so much since starting three years ago mentally and it has changed my view of things. I have made so much progress physically by opening up my perception of things and it has been amazing to see progress from day to day

Goals?
.
If I can work hard enough this year, I would love to hit a 400 # back squat and run a sub 5:30 mile by May. Eventually I want to be able to challenge myself more outside of CrossFit with triathlons and running

Biggest improvement since starting CF?
.
I have improved a lot on my cardiovascular side. I have started running and swimming more and it has translated to growth in workouts. Also have to say my mobility and awareness for treating my body as improved. I never thought to stretch or mobilize until I realized it is only hurting my body

What do you do outside of CF?

I love learning new things. I work three different jobs in three different fields I have passions for. I love to hike, shoot guns, and cook

For mamas like me who feel like 💩, the good news is you CAN gain strength and some endurance back while pregnant. Not all is lost!!! -
Don’t shy away from hard workouts! Playing tackle 🏈 pregnant might not be a great idea but strength training, HIIT, endurance training (yes, people run marathons pregnant. CrAzy people. But people nonetheless 😂) are all extremely beneficial! The point is your baby will not be worse off due to vigorous workouts. Studies prove this. Obviously, advise with your doctor. -

For more than the last month, my Friday afternoons have been an exercise in planning how to complete the #CrossFitOpen WOD, both for the first time, and the retest over the next few days. Instead this week I get to reflect on the results. This year was my first year videoing some workouts in a garage gym, and traveling to a couple different local affiliates for others; working out in new places adds a whole other dimension to the challenge, and was a really neat experience.

It wasn't my best showing, but it was probably my most fun season to date. Competition seems to magnify the engagement and commitment of even the most unexpected participants, and the surprising enjoyment I received from this 5 week battle against close friends and the larger worldwide #CrossFit #community simply cannot be overstated. It was truly a blast, regardless of the results!
My training for the last year has been skinny on raw lifting, and lacking in skills practice, to the benefit of aerobic capacity; this was caused by circumstance and was not by design, but the open has highlighted where I was lacking and the gaps to fill over the next year.

The increased variance in my weeklu placing based on the specific workout is really telling to me. Workouts one and two went better than I had any right to expect them to (my engine is good as ever), but then the heavy barbell, muscle ups, and handstand push-ups taught me there's more to this fitness game. The last workout was my only one and done; I improved each previous week's score with a retest and expect I would've on that one too; but there was also something fun about just waiting until Monday night and going for it!
Big thanks to @mozlie8 for being there to cheer me on each week, and my family of #crossfit nomads who all traveled around to get the WODs done. I can't wait until next year! (P.S. - in 2011 I was 7,435 in the world and 717 in the North East, man was I fit back then! 😂)
