With 45 seconds rest in between. If you’re advanced , do toes to bar, and if you’re a beast, do toes to bar with ankle weights! 🥑weighted crunches . Hold a plate to your chest. 8,6,4,2,20 Reps. With 45 seconds in between. If you’re advanced, go on a steep decline, if you’re a beast, go on an extreme decline, and slow down the eccentric and sing bohemian rhapsody as you do it. 🥑alternate each rep between hanging straight leg raise, and hanging knee ups . Do 20 reps . 3 sets. Keep your rest minimal. 🥑 get an ab wheel. And go for 1 min straight. As low as you can go. Do this 4 times. With a minute break in between. Do it today. Get a good playlist, whether it be skipknot or Maria callas’ greatest concert. Drink a lot of water so you’re admiring the clearness of your pee. And if you’re like me, you’ll get a protein shake with an exotic fruit blend and a good iso protein within 30 min post workout, sit in a warm place and that will be your mini vacation for the day before the grind hits you tomorrow. Thanks be to the Lord to allow me to experience the whole process of recruitment/combine & competitions leading to trials @usabs

Overall I qualified for America's Cup as a push athlete! Now I wait for AF HQ's signature @usairforce to officially be a part of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program aka WCAP. This will allow me to fully dedicate time & efforts for the next 2 years to the sport of bobsled as my new military marching orders!

As I wait, I continue to train and trust that God knows what's best for me as I have no control over the WCAP application at this point. No matter the results, I will continue to praise and trust God; when one door closes God will open a greater door so long as you have faith throughout the storm. No matter the circumstances, go out and do your best and give the rest to God.

God expects us to do all we can, then He will do what we can't! When Jesus went to raise Lazarus from the dead, He told the people, "Roll ye away the stone!" (Jn.11:39) He could have made Lazarus walk right through the stone, so why did they have to roll it away?--Rolling the stone away from the door of the tomb was something they could do. They couldn't raise him from the dead, but they could roll the stone away!

God's not always going to do it for you when you can do it for yourself! He said to Moses, "What is that in thine hand?" (Exo.4:2) He usually lets you do what you CAN do, then He does what you can't do. Jesus said, "seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you, ask and ye shall receive." (Mat.7:7,8) If you don't go around looking, you're not going to find. Maybe all nine doors are shut and you're only going to find one open, but are you just going to sit there and say, "Lord, reveal it to me"?--No! God expects you to put feet to your prayers, get out and do a little hoofing and look!

That's what you as a person have to figure out as sometimes one may need upliftment and the motivation to do so, but there is nothing you can't do so never say you can't, you may fail alot of times, but always remember the successful ones has been there done that. the way you think and feel about yourself in your day to day journey, including your expectations about what is possible for you, determines everything that happens to you🙇. When you change the quality of your thinking and have a different mindset you change the quality of your life, sometimes instantly if all goes the right way. Just as positive words can make someone happy and negative words can break down a person, they might not say it but its always good to do good on to others as you would like to be done onto you. Always do the right thing and don't be influence by the negative. You must be the change you wish to see within the world. Alot of people sometimes allow certain to be the definition of what there life is going to be. Never allow yourself to be made a victim no matter what. Accept no one's definition of your life. But define yourself on your own but within the positive circle. Something that will make a big change to society and for others to know and understand so they can see it in you and find they way on that path🤝. Helping others to grow other than oneself is better to see others grow and live the life they always wanted. Sometime others need help because the ties of the world have them holding on to something of no value to life, so when u do positive things and continue you change alot of life and it surely wont be forgotten🙏. A thing to understand is that courage is not the absence of fear, but is the judgement that something else is more important than fear. Like it or not we all fear many things in life, even the bravest person do, it is just without fear it wouldn't make a brave person. The person that is brave found the key in fighting back fear and overcoming them 🙏🌴. Always know courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared/fear something. Don't ever limit yourself no matter what. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. But im here to tell u that you can go as far as your mind lets you with nothing holding u back🌠. What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, is not in comparison to what lies within oneself. BUT even with all his dedication and love and positivity, as he said himself and i quote “Everything is never as it seems.” People w/ depression & other mental illness have fronts, all people do. You never know what a person may be going thru. They can hide the pain w/ the smiles but deep down feel like an empty vessel. As you all know me for being someone who is very big on spreading awareness on depression, anxiety & other mental health issues, i ask you to PLZ look out for yourselves, for your friends, family, etc. Send a random “checking on you/thinking of you” or “hope you have a good day today” text. Smile at a stranger on the street. Compliment a stranger in a store. The smallest things go the longest way. Go look up the signs of substance abuse & learn how to speak to someone you may think is falling down the wrong rabbit hole. And for those w/ depression there are other ways to find hope & happiness in life again. Afraid to share it w/ someone you know? There are so many groups you can go to & share how you feel without feeling judged. Trying to cope w/ harmful methods? There are so many groups you can reach out to for that too. Hell, too ashamed to leave your house? There are support groups or hotlines that you don’t even have to call. You can just txt them. Yeah life fucking sucks sometimes, but it’s a beautiful gift as well.

Well that’s the same thing as starting a diet plan.

It’s a complete change just like the first day of school, you’re used to the schedule you had before you took on all those classes.

Try these steps out before you go all in on your new healthy lifestyle.

1. Do not sign up for a gym. Waste of money until you complete these other steps. Trust me these big corporate gyms could give a fuck about you. They want your money they don’t care about your results. (Why do you think some gyms are only $10 a month, they know you’re never going to come back, and they know you won’t cancel because it’s only $10, think about it.)🤔

2. Focus on food!! - Try eating 3 meals a day then slowly work your way up. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Most People Can’t Even Do That) But without proper nutrition you will never get the results you want.

3. CARDIO!!! - No you don’t need a gym to do cardio, you can simply do cardio outside by walking your dog or doing a nice power walk. The more consistent you are and your confidence builds up then maybe start doing sprints in between your walk if you want. (Depending on your goals and what you’re trying to achieve.)

4. Once you have completed step 2 & 3 and you feel confident in your discipline which in my opinion you should wait a full month to really see how well you’re doing, then you can go sign up for a gym and get into weight lifting.

All this stuff can be so overwhelming and it’s why most people give up on their diets. It’s not the diet that doesn’t work it’s you giving up on the diet because you took on too much your first day of school.

Learn to be patient, don’t get overly excited and take your TIME.

All along your path there are gonna be doubters, shit talkers and just people that worry about you making a risky decision.
It doesn’t always come from a place of hate. Sometimes it’s people who care about you.
Regardless, people are very quick to hold you back when your dream seems ‘unrealistic’. It’s always easier to take the office job, the factory job, the job working for your friend, etc.
The built in cheque, benefits, pension, security that we all want is so attractive.
Problem is, if you have something burning in the pit of your stomach, none of those things matter.
That voice in the back of your mind will keep picking at you. “Just go for it”, “You can do it, why not”, “Why should they be able to do it and not you”. That voice is always there and it won’t relent. Not until you satisfy it. That’s what real passion is.
It’s ok to fail in my world. I would rather have gone big and failed then never gone at all.
Regret and always wondering ‘What if’ are my ultimate fears. I never want to wonder.
It’s much more satisfying to me to push thru fail and then at least I can put it to bed.
If I don’t fail then it’s a dream so why not go for it.

A lot of people want to help, but not many people know where or how to start. It wasn’t something that happened to me overnight, my journey here ... Day 3(a)- ‘How can I get involved directly in charity/ take action’. I might not even be able to get this all in one post… so for now, this is part (a).

A lot of people want to help, but not many people know where or how to start.
It wasn’t something that happened to me overnight, my journey here was a mixture of trial and error, and getting frustrated with not making enough impact. I started through producing documentary films and found that filming wasn’t making as much of an impact as I had hoped, and I wanted to do something more to directly help. So I just started ‘doing’!

1. Choose your cause. It can be multiple, but if you want to actively make a difference and still live a 'normal life', try and dedicate your time to just one or two. .
2. You don’t have to wait for an organisation to set something up before you take action. E.g. if your passionate about plastic pollution, you can go and do a beach clean up anytime! The world is wide open and available for fixing. .
3. You don’t have to quit your job and donate all your money to make a change. Small actions make big change, so we’re after quantity over quality with this one… the more people you can influence to make a minor change, the better. .
4. Do your research on charities you support. Having worked on this side of things for a while I’ve seen heartbreaking amounts of corruption and lying, so dig deep! .
5. Day to day things count. This means not just throwing some change down in front of a homeless person- but stopping for a few minutes to appreciate them as a human being and have a conversation. Genuine interaction is priceless, and yes it can seem intimidating at first but I promise it’s always worth it. .
6. Do your research on your cause. For example, if it’s refugee based- learn as much as you can about the politics around the crisis. .
7. Think, or even write down all the reasons as to why you want to get involved. It feels strange at first, and there’s no wrong or right, you can come back and add to it- but it’s important to know why you want to help in that cause. .

Get all the barbecue, cooked and processed foods out of the way today. Tomorrow we start the 21 day raw challenge with my guy @badassvegan. So many questions, can I eat this, can I do this, can I drink coffee, how about nutritional yeast, can I steam my veggies... Look, this is a 21 day raw challenge. That’s it. 3 weeks. I believe in you like I believe in myself. But if you want to do it optimally, stick to fruits and vegetables. Simplify don’t complicate it. Start your day with around 24-32 ounces of water, vegetables juices and or smoothies in the am-noon, stock up on and pound fruit(not just 1 banana and 1 apple🤦🏽‍♂️) in the middle of the day and make yourself a huge salad at night with a savory salad dressing. There’s plenty of raw dressings you can google and make yourself that are so simple and delicious. You can also do raw tacos with romaine or another lettuce. But here’s the deal. We get 24 hours in a day, we can only consume so much and the more raw we become, the less we begin to eat because our bodies become nourished and satiated because it’s getting the nutrients you can’t find in burgers, hot dogs, potato chips and ice cream. That’s why we trip out when hearing RAW right away and tell ourselves “ I can’t eat raw, no way!” But it’s actually the way we were designed to eat. All animals in nature eat their food raw and aren’t walking around obese with heart disease and cancer. We on the other hand are eating all this garbage we’re not meant to, get overweight and sick, go to the doctor, get pills, take that crap and then continually eat the junk that got us sick while masking symptoms with those damn pharmaceutical pills. Then there’s the small percentage that say, let me go an alternative route. That route usually leads to.... yep you guessed it, raw Plant Based foods and juicing to heal and reverse chronic illness. ANYWAY, yeah you can do 21 Days, I promise you’ll lose weight, gain energy, clarity and hell may even consider eating raw til 4 or a lot more raw after. Don’t trust in your situation and don’t look to what is seen. All the trials you go through in life are making you stronger. You will see God working in your life. You won’t remain in those trials. Don’t give up. You will go through trials and get out and then go back in them, but always remember the mighty hand of God is at work.⁣

I’m constantly wanting to adopt or foster one but then he reminds me we have three other fur babies ourselves to take care of and taking on another would not be practicing ahimsa because they would suffer because they already need more then we offer especially in the hot summer months when getting outside isn’t safe for my Rosie.....Do you also find yourself wanting to help but you can’t physically offer space to foster or take on a new baby? Never forget you can always go to a local Non kill pet shelter and or even a PetSmart or Petco and volunteer your time showing a fur baby some extra love. My daughter and I found one (most you have to be 18 or older) where we can sit with the kitties and play with them. The hardest part is not bringing them home!! Another great way I just found out about last night where you can offer extra financial help by simply doing what you’d already do is making a donation through The AmazonSmile program. I am a big Amazon user and if you can go to the AmazonSmile page rather then the Amazon regular website you can sign up to have Amazon donate a percentage of your purchase to @roadogs which is awesome! This way as you are already buying something those cute little fur babies get extra things so more can be saved!!! And no no one asked me to write this. 1. “Screw it. I’ll make due with what I can get a hold of.” This saves you #time and #money, at the expense of #quality.
2. “I’ll take the bus into town.” This saves you quality and most of the money with, at the expense of time.
3. “I’ll take a cab.” This saves you quality and time, at the expense of money.

Most of the time I tend to opt for option number 3. I’d much rather save time and sacrifice money and quality.

You can always make more money and you can always make something of higher quality.

What you can’t do is make more time.

That being said, there’s a certain threshold of quality that I wouldn’t go below. That’s basically my “good enough” level.

For example, if I only had 2 minutes to answer this #question I wouldn’t bother because I’d feel I can’t give the kind of answer I feel would be useful. Thus I’d spend those 2 minutes on something else where the time is put to better use.

Now, if I had 5 minutes then I’d consider it. I feel comfortable in my ability to type out a “good enough” answer in that time, I just wouldn’t edit it.

However, I wouldn’t spend 2 hours writing and polishing my answer because after about 10–15 minutes I’d probably have covered most of what needs to be said, edited out most of the “fluff”, and would hit a point of diminishing returns.

Speaking of which, I think I’ve taken up quite enough of your time and mine.

You aren't always going to be at your strongest every single workout but that doesn't matter, what matters is that you work as hard as you can at what you can do. So today's workout you've established that you are weak AF. So work on something different, how bout stamina. Drop weight and do as many reps as you can, go to supposed failure and try to push a few more. Go as hard as you can for as long as you can, :). Try working on lifts or exercises that you normally don't do or those you don't give much attention to. Whatever you do just work hard at it. You aren't gonna get to where you want to be by giving up, leaving and coming back when you think you'll preform better.

Now who I am really aiming this post at: married people (especially with children).

When Linds and I first got married I would go off for hours and lock myself in a room and spend all day with God. But when I would come out, my wife actually would feel dishonored because she was left alone to clean and take care of all of the household responsibilities by herself. While I was off in “the glory” she was all alone. This was not right of me and was even inconsiderate as I was still trying to live like a single person and didn’t understand that I now had someone else in my life to love and prefer before myself. I learned right away that in this context, it was more Godly to actually spend time with her and help her with the household responsibilities than it was for me to go off for hours and hours and leave her alone all the time.

Then of course, now that we have 3 kids, 2 ministries, businesses, travel non-stop etc, this concept has only increased with more responsibility. But in the midst of responsibilities etc, the most Godly thing for me to do in this season is to try and be the best husband and father I can be by being as present and helpful as possible.
.
You have to understand your season. You can only do your best. As I mentioned in this video, I’m in a season of quality but don’t have much time for quantity (even though I do take advantage of getting in time with God whenever I can). Singles can do quality and quantity - and should do both.
.
Is your heart intentional to connect with Him? Are you thinking and talking to Him throughout the day? Is prayer your first option or your last?
.
Here’s the punchline: What matters to God is not the hours spent, but how we spend the hours. 💪

• CALORIE - I was in a 10- 20% calorie deficit for about 10 months. This is where you consume less calories than what your body requires mine was around 1500calories.
• DONT GO BELOW YOUR BMR EVER, this is how many calories you need a day to survive. Mine was 1300 calories .. yes you can go below this and lose weight quicker, I did that at some points but I just gained it back and wasI was so hungry. Slow weight loss is the best!
• CARDIO - I did around 1 hour - 1hr 30 mins a day. I’d do a fasted dog walk every morning then around 30 min cardio in the gym. You don’t HAVE to do cardio for weight loss, you can just consume less calories but I enjoy my eating so the more I more the more I can eat. I found aswell after cardio I’m so happy ( endorphins) I tend not to be that hungry for a while and if I had bad cravings they would go away.
• REST DURING PERIOD - I always get mad craving 1 week before my period so I wouldn’t fight it I would just have a few days off and eat what my body wants because I would do it anyways. You always hold more water when your due on anyways and it all comes off when your back to normal.. so for that week I’d get of the scales and enjoy my blanket and chocolate.
•INTERMITTENT FASTING - I LOVE fasting and still do it not even though I’m not dieting, I would have my first meal at 12pm and last meal at 8pm. A sorter time eating frame would help relax my digestive system, lower insulin levels ( fat storing hormone ) and alows me to have bigger meals as I would add in the calories from breakfast into them.
• FIBRE IS LIFE - Fibre is your best friend, it fills you up and your body can’t digest it 🙀 .. fibre feeds your gut and is the stool in your poop, you find fibre mostly in fruits and veggies. My favourite sources of fibre are - aubergine, courgette, brocolli, coconut flour.. and they are low calorie aswell meaning you can make huge bowls of them to fill you up for hours! ( recommended 25-30g)

Why am I sharing this with you?
These mini rebellions kept me AWAKE along the way. They anchored a knowingness + confidence in myself + my vision. And to not worry about what others thought of me because I wasn't interested in following their lead to begin with if they haven't been where I'm going. I was most interested in following my own intuition + taking aligned action! And I want you to understand this phenomenon ... seriously please know this:

THE VERY PEOPLE YOU ARE HOLDING BACK FOR, HAVE NOT BEEN WHERE YOU ARE GOING. Because if they have, you would feel love from them, not judgment + fear. Even through their constructive feedback, you would feel 💜

Would you ever ask your 5 year old to give you directions? Would you ever ask the most negative person in your life how to meditate? Would you ever ask someone that is sick all the time how to boost your immune system?

Don't wait for the approval of your group, if you are the one that is meant to take the whole group up a level (and you are)

Get after it 👊 Be resourceful. Learn. Take Action. Make quick decisions. Teach others. Give as often as possible. Repeat. 🎶 "you can go your own way"

Your confidence + mindset will continue to grow at an unbelievably fast rate as you move forward in the direction you know you need to go.

When I first practiced the dancer pose I count NOT even balance on one leg at all, first picture is from 2015 next one is from 2016 and the third one was from 2018 this Saturday. Honestly thought the view was nice and I wanted to take a simple picture and then I unlocked something within me that made me go deeper. I feel like the universe is transforming me and my life in so many ways. This was a reminder to myself to do everything I think I can’t do including whatever comes up in my personal life.
If you think your not flexible and you will never be able to do yoga, your wrong you can get anything you want if you believe it and just try. Anything you want and need in your life is on the other side of fear. So shoot for the moon 🌙 even if you miss you will land on the stars. ✨

Here are a few beginner tips to get started with your Yoga practice. 1 Start practicing! Don’t make excuses.
2 Pick one yoga pose and work on it.
3 Got tight hamstrings? Forward fold every day is your friend.
4 If you’re short on time, practice for 5-10 minutes per day.
5 Don’t dismiss breathing and meditation. It works!
6 Find a teacher and class that work for you. All types of yoga exist. I teach an all levels vinyasa flow every Sunday at 10am.

My onliest recommendation is to do a wash and let go and let god! Gels are typically a little more resistant to humidity. You can also do silicones but over time it may suffocate your hair and dry it out bc it repels water—so I advise against it. Other than that, go get braids, go get a wig, or just embrace the frizz!

I know it seems like I come back to this a lot, but the reason for it is because someone and/or their parents is hearing this from people right now and no one knows what’s in store for your future and CERTAINLY how someone does in school is absolutely NOT an indicator of how they will do in life. The institutions that will last in the future are those that teach you how to think and solve problems for yourself and with others; not ones that test you on how much you can remember about information that you may feel is irrelevant to your life.

I always knew I wasn’t going to be a great student (in school) and was 10000% comfortable with it; that is not the cloth I was cut from and why I wasn’t ever fully engaged in the classroom. I always felt there was way more for me out there to learn on my own and through experiences.
People often say, “you can do anything” as a way to motivate you, which isn’t necessarily true...at any moment, any person can do anything, BUT you’d be way better suited to do what you are passionate about and driven towards, because one thing is for certain; you can’t do what you don’t believe you can do...Ryan, the team at @APL and I, always believed we could build something special and were/are willing to take the necessary steps and put in the work to do so...everything around you was built by a group of people; choose your team and who you listen to wisely 🏆

When you are growing a business it is crucial that you stay focus. Working on multiple projects at a time can truly slow you down. This is what I struggle with each and every day. However, for 2019 I plan to cut the cord and truly get focused. People and projects must be let go. It will be extremely hard but I know it’s for the best.

Many changes are coming in the 1st quarter and I am making room for my true blessings.

You may have seen in my stories that i couldn’t workout this morning before an “appointment.” While I’m going to the doctor I’m not really going to a doctor doctor. This isn’t my check up. I’m visiting a kidney specialist...

This photo here is from a few months ago. I went for my annual in September and after my bloodwork came back with elevated creative levels, i was told to lower my protein and cut out pre-workout. •
So i did.

And they didn’t change. Twice. •
I hate needles y’all. I require a lollipop after bloodwork and need to lay down. I’m a total baby so the fact that i was actually able to take this picture is in of itself a slight win.

I’m on my way to see the kidney doc now with @justin_whitesell because i need the accountability. I need his ears to work when mine won’t. A flurry of emotions and mixed feelings in my body.

Don’t even start with the “what-ifs” that flood my mind. •
I have read of #rhabdo which frightens me deeply. My late grandfather had kidney problems. •
But then i think about if i HADN’T gotten that bloodwork that annual day. I used to not because i didn’t want the needle. But i guess with age comes wisdom so i started sucking it up and making sure all my thyroid levels, cholesterol levels and such were on point. and then this one creatine was not. Who even knew this was one of the ones to watch? •

Almost any look can work for almost anyone. The trick is to use colors natural ability to affect eachother to create the vibe you want without actually using colors that doesn’t flatter you. An actual deep toned makeup look would be too dark for my medium and warm coloring. So, instead I used a medium dark color that also feels fresh in a soft way, from my color chart. Then I make sure to do the rest of my face in my best makeup colors, for balance.
This way it will feel like a deep colored makeup look, but is actually not.
I do the same thing with my eyeliner, I use a dark brown eyeliner instead of black. It’s softer, warmer, better on me, and because of my natural coloring it looks black on me. The lighter and softer you are, the lighter and softer the colors you use should be. The more saturated, darker, and deeper your coloring is, the more saturated, darker and deeper you can go.
Make sure the colors you wear doesn’t mute you, but highlight you. ✨✨✨

Many people struggle to do this exercise for reps with decent form , and that’s very understandable ! I have couple very effective solutions for you guys. Even if you can only do 2-5 reps , if you follow these simple strategies - you will progress :
-
STRATEGY 1 (if you only can do 1-2 pull-ups )
Put a bench or a high box under the pull-up bar, use it to help yourself to get to the top position of the pull-up movement, then take the feet of the box and on the count of 5 second extend the arms (aka negative phase of a pull-up movement), then use the box or bench to lift yourself back up. Repeat 5-7 reps like that ! 5-7 sets total.

STRATEGY 2: (if you can do up to 5 clean reps)
Incorporate extended time under tension during negatives aka eccentric portion of the movement.
How to do ? - begin with a very fast positive phase (the pull-up phase) and then go down on the count of 5-7 sec. then repeat another rep or two ( if you can). Perform 5-7 sets total. Rest minimum 4 minuets in between each set. Do pull-ups every 3-4 days

STRATEGY 3: (if you can do 7-10 reps but can’t increase this number) :
Do extended time under tension negatives with additional weight. You can hold a dumbbell between feet or around the waistline with a belt.
Apply same time under tension principle as in strategy 2

And of course always focus on proper form : in the initial part of each rep retract the scapula back , then lift yourself up focusing on the elbows doing the work and not the biceps ! Utilize full range of motion in each rep. Exhale when you pull up and inhale on the way down!

Today , i choose to write to address this,  to offer a LASTING SOLUTION and more importantly, start the empowerment plan myself. (From the corner of my home office)  Nigerian Youths needs ENTREPRENEURSHIP Empowerment but not the regular employment scheme, here is my recommendation and why. ( i say this with all confidence) *Invest in a young Nigerian Entrepreneur to start a Network Marketing Business.* *YES... NETWORK MARKETING.* Here is a sincere truth, rather than just give away the money, empowering them to start a Network marketing business is the BEST way to empower an entrepreneur.

You ask why? Here is WHY *1: Network Marketing Helps Teach, Build and Challenge their entrepreneurship mindset.* *2: NM prepares them for the real world of business* *3: NM helps them master the art of Sales, Marketing and Branding* *4: NM helps them build a strongwill and resilient spirit* *5: NM helps them understand the importance and beauty of Teamwork* *6: NM helps them learn how to deal with rejections (NOs) and Fear* .... i can go on and on... But let me end with one last point. My biggest point... *7: NM helps entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs build a guaranteed income source to fund their dreams even when they fail at the first, second or third attempt.  All they have to do is TRY again with the next Million they earn.* *Dear Leaders, THINK EMPOWERMENT, THINK NIGERIAN YOUTHS, THINK NETWORK MARKETING*

Do it for your family even if you can't do it for everyone, at least empower your people, your audience, your home.

I know you think; ....What if they don't GROW their business? .... What if they get lazy or even quit?

YES... some will get lazy, many will QUIT too.

But guess what?

“Listen, Tunde is making this about me I think I should go over and talk to him right away before this thing gets out of hand.”
“Okay. I am with you on that. But what about Debbie? Can you check on her first just to make sure?”
I started to say yes but my better judgement said otherwise so I replied, “I do not think that is the right course of action under the circumstance. Tunde is a bit of a hot head and if he finds out that I have been around his wife now, he will definitely flip. I am already walking on thin ice right now where he is concerned and I would not want to aggravate him.”
Dera breathed a deep sigh.
“Okay. I think you are right. Don’t leave yet. Let me call Debbie before we take a decision.”

I did not have to wait for long.
“Sweetheart, I have just spoken with Debbie. She thinks there is something there is something terribly wrong with Tunde and she wants to go over to the office and beg him to forgive her. She does not want a repeat of the last time where he was so mad that he got physical with her. Can you do me a favour and pick me up so that we can go together?That way, Tunde will not have anything to say against you if he finds out. After dropping me off, then you can go…”

A couple of weeks ago I heard my pastor give an amazing metaphor about how vital it is for us to find the ability to let go of personal pain, and seek out forgiveness to ease that pain. He said “if you pick up a shard of broken glass and you squeeze it in your hand, it will cut you to the bone. And the longer ... A couple of weeks ago I heard my pastor give an amazing metaphor about how vital it is for us to find the ability to let go of personal pain, and seek out forgiveness to ease that pain. He said “if you pick up a shard of broken glass and you squeeze it in your hand, it will cut you to the bone. And the longer you hold on, and the tighter you squeeze, the more pain you’ll inflict upon yourself. No one else. Just you. The only way to stop the pain, and begin to heal from it, is to open up your hand and let go of the glass. The pain won’t be gone immediately, but you can’t stop it without letting go of what’s hurting you”. Trust me when I tell you I’ve had people in my life that were those shards of glass, and trust me when I tell you I’ve squeezed so hard that I bled all over the floor and cut myself to the bone. Did it bother them? Nope. I was the only one suffering. The anguish was mine to cling to, or to let go of. Here’s the other rub - while you’re clinging to that shard of glass you can’t open your hand up to both heal, and hold something better in it. Something that doesn’t cut you deep or empty you out. You can’t do both. You cannot love or hold someone else close to you while you’re still clinging to pain, resentment, anger, shame, or guilt. If you’ve got a shard of glass you’re holding onto right now, make yourself a promise to let it go as part of your resolution for the New Year. Pursue the internal peace that has been eluding you. Do that by making the choice to let go of what’s ailing you first.

There is absolutely no shame in admitting you need help. Whether it’s around the house, with childcare, paperwork, ironing👗, whatever, you don’t have to do it all alone. As women we often feel like we have to be multi tasking 24/7 & be all things to all people & it’s often at the detriment to ourselves. If you’re struggling with something in your life & theres help that someone can give you or a service you can go to for support, DO IT! With working from home, I struggle if my space isnt tidy as I’m sat looking at all this other stuff that I need to do- cleaning, tidying, cooking, errands, while also trying to run 2 different arms of a business. Being self employed isn’t easy & working from home isn’t always cushty. Sure it has its benefits but every job has pros & cons. I love what I do but working in the place I live affects my productivity, efficiency & ablitity to think clearly at times, especially when I have so much to do. Last year, I noticed a cycle whereby everything at home would get on top of me, it’s build up & id not be able to get anything done & it’s feel unsuccessful & irritated that I couldn’t finish all my work AND have a clean, tidy home at the same time. Friends would help me out, peace would be restored & think it’s build up again. For the forseeable, I’m prioritising my small disposable income where I can receive the most benefit & have got someone to come deep clean for me once a fortnight for a couple of hours then I can maintain in between. It’s not a great cost in the grand scheme of things; the equivalent of a takeaway or going to the cinema 🎞 which I will give up in place of it because I know that it’ll have such a beneficial impact on my mental health, work productivity & ultimately, my happiness. Sometimes you have to admit that you can’t do it all & ask for help. There’s no shame in taking control of your life & making things work for you, I feel so relieved & much happier that I’ve got someone I can trust to help!

Slumps are fascinating because if you are aware that you’re in a slump, that means you regard yourself higher, and know you’re better, you just can’t get out of this lil trench you’ve dug for yourself which does not serve you. Slumps come in all different shapes and sizes. Eating too much, eating too little, over exercise, lack of exercise, drinking too much, smoking, not studying, hating your job, holding a grudge etc. And why do we get in slumps...because being a decent human in the modern world with tons of distractions and toxic comparisons takes a lot of will power out of us! Will power is not an infinite resource. I thought it was for me as a teenager but nope, it’s fades, and that’s when slumps come in to try to fill the void of lack of will power. So instead of working out today...I’ll just eat junk food and get my high that way! Or, I don’t love myself...so I’ll just punish myself and restrict eating food which will fill that void😒🤔Slumps and addictions sounds crazy when you write about them, but to keep it real it’s hard to climb out of all your slumps! But if I’ve learned anything in the last 5 years, it’s the recipe to keep yourself slump free and stay living on a high note. The recipe is 1) meditate, 2) move your body, 3) do meaningful service work of some kind, posting on social media counts if you’re spreading a message with good content, but you can go do physical service work too, 4) be a part of a community where you share, laugh, cry and open up with others, 5) eat pretty healthy, and 6) don’t do drugs everyday, only on special occasions. If you follow that outline, it’s MUCH easier to live slump free. Get out of the trenches, you can do it🌸❤️🦋🔥🚵‍♂️

Whether you struggle to find the time to workout while traveling, or you like to use this time as recovery since you are running around anyway, I put together some Workout Travel Tips for you. You can keep it as simple as stretching or as intense as keeping up with your fitness regimen at a local gym.
1️⃣ Use Delays To Go For A Walk. Is your plane delayed? Go take a walk around Terminal A. Browse all the shops. Need a bathroom break from the car ride? Take a few minutes to walk around the rest station. Explore your surroundings. It could be fun, too!
2️⃣ Stretch Post-Travel. Muscles are SUPER tight after a long trip. Immediately after you get off the plane, car, etc, do a forward fold to help with any lower back soreness. Hug your knees and rock side-to-side. Then move on to downward dog and childs pose. And really any yin yoga type poses you enjoy once you get to the hotel or house you are staying at.
3️⃣ If Possible, Pack The Right Tools. It's obviously difficult to pack heavy dumbbells, but jumpropes, resistance bands, TRX straps, and hand towels you can use in place of gliders work great (unless you have gliders, then bring those)!
4️⃣ Check Out The Fitness Scene At Your Destination. Most gyms/studios offer discounts and sometimes free first classes or week pass. Look into those close to where you are visiting (before you leave) and see if it's a good option. Also, don't forget about hiking trails, long walks with family, etc, especially if you are traveling somewhere warm. 🌞
5️⃣ Bodyweight Exercises. Even if you don't have or forget to pack any fitness tools, you can still do an amazing bodyweight workout. Wake up a little early and get it done before anyone else is up OR have some family and friends join you for accountability! Here are some moves you can do. Do each exercise for 60 seconds and run through list 2-3 times or for however long you have.

This video was the solution to get out of this trap I was in so I watched the video completely... Without being sure of what it was all about, but "I just knew it was for me" so I pulled out my credit card and I got in.

I realized that I had to go with my guts and not just try but to BELIEVE that it was my exit door.

I found out that I didn't need any technical skill or business degree to do that... It was an all-in-one system I can "plug n play" make internet money... All was done by someone else, didn't need to harass my friends and family all I do is using some marketing the team and I can teach you!

So going with my guts allowed to step away from my job earning $10, $50 to $100 days and even $3000 in a day! Start travelling and meet awesome people while having a life!

I’m not sure of the exact mechanics of it. Maybe it has something to do with physics or the earth’s rotational, gravitational force. Maybe it has to do with solar interference or the underlying movement of the tectonic plates. Heck, for all I know it could be a butterfly flapping its wings somewhere in Indonesia. Ashton Kutcher movies taught me that.

But the point is, something shifts when you are willing to acknowledge a dream. Your dream. It changes things. And if I’m being really honest, I should go ahead and tell you that I don’t really believe that shift has anything at all to do with tectonic plates. I believe that shift ... is in YOU.

Because when you are brave enough to speak a dream out loud to even just one other person, suddenly it’s out there. In the world. And there’s no turning back. Because now whether you go for that dream or don’t go for it, the one thing you can never do again is pretend like it never existed. That this thing wasn’t something you had once hoped for in your life. No longer will you be able to say things like “Me? Oh no, me I’m fine. There’s nothing else I want to do.” Because once it’s out there, and you can’t swallow the words back up, and you still make the choice not to do anything about it... you’ll know in your heart that you are actively deciding not to give wings to your dreams. It is to remain in this place where you stay more afraid of falling than you are hungry for the chance to fly. You have to be willing to leap and leap and leap each time the ledge comes around. Because no one else is going to chase this dream for you. It’s on you. And it’s IN you. It was in you all along.
And that realization changes everything.

I made a very clear decision from the beginning to focus on certain things and let the rest go...I can easily go down the road of how hard I worked to be able to do certain things and how long it took. I might have lost the strength to do those things and will have to start over. I am not able to do any ocr races for a couple of months. Instead i decided to focus on what I can do and change my goals accordingly. Just because you can’t do something you did all the time it does not mean you can’t do other things or maybe even find something new and discover something different.
I always ask myself a question when something out of my control happens: “ What does God want to show you or teach you”
Whatever that is , I know is something I need and that will benefit me in the long run. Easier said than done😊
Sometimes something we see as negative can push you in another direction and make you discover something incredible along the way.
The one thing i am always thankful for is the fact that you can start again you can build again there is opportunity and that is all you need.

Dip & L-Sit Hold (1 rep & 1 sec hold)
Each round increase 1 rep and 1 sec hold all the way to 10

Last round is shown here. I rested 30 sec between rounds, but I would recommend resting as much as needed to keep form & position intact.

Couple of cues/notes:

1)Stay away from doing ring dips if you can’t do dips on static apparatus. I’ve said this many times before, but always good to reiterate. If you can’t do them with full range and with quality on static apparatus, no reason to take them to the rings.

2)Train your dips as you train your squats. Work to get strong, comfortable, and mobile in the bottom position. When starting out go down as far as possible where you can come out of it on your own. Slowly work towards increasing the depth over time.

3)Eye line forward and body as vertical as possible throughout each rep.

4)Elbow tracks back away from body on each rep working to keep shoulders as neutral as possible throughout. Should be a heavy triceps exercise...not just front of shoulder working.

5)If using dip bars as I am here, face away from the upright/rig. Will allow you to do things like l-sit, but also allows for a more externally rotated hand/shoulder position which mimics a similar hand/shoulder position as you would use on ring support position. 💪🏼🐒 @powermonkeyfitness #techniquematters #ilovegymnastics #monkeymethod #gymnastics #calesthenics

Here are a few examples of some powerful approaches to cultivating gratitude each day: .

🌿Gratitude Affirmations: Every morning when you get up (or every night when you go to bed), try saying “I am grateful for _____” five times, filling the blank in differently each time. You don’t need to focus on anything big, just whatever brings you genuine happiness and appreciation at that time. Examples include a lovely meal, a good conversation, your health, the weather, something that made you laugh, a pet, and so on. Anything that inspires gratitude is fair game.✨ .

🌿Gratitude Journaling: You can also do the above exercise in a written form. One benefit of this approach is that you can look back through your journal at any time, reconnecting with the things that make you feel grateful. This is a powerful resource to use in troubled or challenging times. Once again, try listing five things per day. I like journaling at night to reflect on my day✨ .

🌿Gratitude Expressions: This particular exercise is compatible with affirmations, journaling or both, and it provides the added bonus of spreading positivity to others. All you need to do is find at least two-three people to whom you want to express gratitude for something each day. This might be as big as thanking a loved one for their support, or as small as smiling at a stranger. Whenever you do this, you focus your mind on gratitude. Developing a programme that on paper will get someone crazy strong is quite easy... The hard part is ensuring they stay injury free while maximising performance.

Most people do too much too soon and overreach too often.

Strength training is all about the long game. Yes, if you want to maximise performance, you need to train intensely and overreach now and then to stimulate adaptations. We also need to capatalise on good days (because we will also have bad days). However, if you overreach too often it will result in overtraining and overtraining means injuries and illness.

My recommendation:

Remember, percentages are not perfect and peoples ability to work will maximal and submaximal loads will differ. But years of experience will allow a coach to use percentages to quantify and gauge the right intensity at the right time.

First couple of weeks: Always preload with added volume - low intensity (50-65% 8-15 reps), high volume (reps)... Be careful of excessive DOMS (muscle soreness) as it can hit you like a train if it's your first week back after time off.

After the first couple of weeks, throw in a couple of weeks of 5x5... If you want added volume, throw in backdown sets - 2-3 sets of 8-10 reps at around 65%. At 5x5, initially work with a weight that feels good. After a week or two you can go for a Training 5RM (most you can do for 5 reps with no breakdown in form). You can then times the number (weight you lifted) by 1.16 (coefficient) - this gives you a good 1RM estimation that can be used for percentages.

When working with sets of 5 reps - work with around 75% and build up to hitting 5x5 at around 80%. When working with sets of 3 - work with around 85% and build up to hitting 3x3 at 90%. When working with sets of 2 (or even singles) - work with 90% to start and build up from there.

Once you have built a solid foundation with a more linear method of programming. Make things more interesting by going Conjugate and mix up all the variables throughout the week (work up to a 1RM) and throw in some dynamic effort sets (speed lifting) etc.

Can't use my right arm... can't touch a barbell... can't row... can't do pull-ups." I got used to being #ScaledAF at everything. But ... Sometimes when you're injured, it's easy to just focus on what you can't do, rather than the fact you just can't... for now. For months I said "I can't do that. Can't use my right arm... can't touch a barbell... can't row... can't do pull-ups." I got used to being #ScaledAF at everything. But I stuck with it, did my single arm thrusters, goblet squats, split squats, KB deadlifts, assault bike, whatever I could to just.keep.moving and remain part of the community. That is one of the many things about @crossfit that I love- it is infinitely scaleable! Eventually 1 week post op turned into 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months. And here we are. All the accessory work, all the horrible workouts biking instead of rowing, all the frustration is gone. And I get to say I got through it and learned more. I am 10x more comfortable catching a clean in the squat than before. My deadlifts are stronger because my posterior chain got a lot of attention during my recovery, which means I am protecting a pretty fickle low back. I feel better able to coach athletes that are injured or otherwise limited from doing certain movement patterns. And I know I have the foundation to just keep building, growing, and getting stronger. Setbacks are temporary unless you spend all your time stuck on the "I can't." I'm glad my "I can't... right now" list is getting shorter every day. She’ll get very jealous. My god, she gets so jealous. Those brown eyes will turn a deep green. She hates that about herself, and she doesn’t mean to do it. Remember, she loves you. Reassure her that you love her too.
On that topic, she needs constant reassurance. Tell her you love her and mean it. If you can’t do that, leave. She deserves more than that.
There will be nights when she goes out and drinks a little too much. She’ll call you to bring her home. When you do, she’ll try to keep you up all night by tickling you and repeating “I love you and I’m sorry I’m annoying.” She’s not annoying. But make sure she has plenty of water and don’t let her pass out until she drinks it, or she will be miserable in the morning.
She is the most independent woman I know. But she’s so insecure, it still breaks my heart. So when she starts an argument with “you don’t love me.” Do not get upset. Remind her you do and the reasons why. She’ll come around.
The cat comes first. Always. Don’t ever think otherwise.
Make her tea and remember the way she takes her coffee. She will notice.
When she’s having an anxiety attack, wrap her up in your arms and rub her back. Tell her she’s safe and remind her that she has medication if she needs it.
If you cannot treat her like royalty, let someone else. That girl deserves the world.
Losing her is a pain you will never shake. Your world will come crashing down on you and those pieces won’t ever fit the way they used to. Don’t let her go.
She will love you with all she’s got. Please give her the same. 
I am begging you to not hurt her. She is golden. Don’t let that shine die out.

There are times when we do only what it takes to get by. We give just enough to get through the day, ensuring that no part of us has to stretch outside of what feels comfortable. This is a good way to stay safe...no risk, no chance of failure. These kind of days are the ones where we stay stagnant, no growth required.
Then there are the times of going further. We make more effort, we offer up more than what's asked and we give that which isn't expected. These are the days where we really connect with our deeper selves, that part of us that seeks out opportunities to stretch outside of our usual space.
More days than not, we can do more. We can smile first, buy coffee for the person behind us, take the stairs instead of the elevator, help someone at work with something that isn't in our job description, hold the door a little longer, lean into that pose until we go deeper. There are so many ways to do more, and they usually don't take anything from us...in fact they end up providing us with a feeling of service (to others and to ourselves). Today, when it seems like you can't do more or when you've reached your limit with something, know that there's still a little room to go further. Take a deep breath, trust that it'll feel good to do more than expected, and then do it. Whether it's for ourselves or a stranger, a colleague or a family member, it's a great way to practice bringing a little more light into the world.
