Do you ever feel like you have the drive and can see so clearly where you want to be in the end but getting there seems so confusing? Like “which road do I take?”, “what if I choose the wrong one?”. And the decision paralysis causes you to not commit to anything and you just stay stuck where you are?
Here’s what I am realizing:
The hunger and excitement you have in the moments you think about the future is exactly the energy you need to bring to the table daily. But when you start doubting yourself, that positive energy is depleted. And since energy is EVERYTHING, being in that suppressed state isn’t going to turn any key holes for you to move where you need to be.
The answer?
Less doubt. More trust.
Less contemplating. More action.
Less focus on right or wrong. More focus on trial+ error + just moving forward. Stagnation breads stagnation. Only movement can create movement.

Three: picture what an ideal day that would bring you the most happiness would look like. Then compare it to your current days spent. How can you bridge the gap?
✨Don’t knock it till you try it. You don’t need any candles, sage, or essential oils. You’ve got all that you need. Find a comfy seat, close your eyes, and give it a go!

Best thing i did for myself was to break the pattern of weekends being rest days. Trained me to intuitively listen to my body.
I push when energy is high. Rest/low impact exercises when i need to.
My body used to be so overworked during the week that when weekends came i was burnt out and would lead me to need to “relax” by getting high on sugar, claiming they were my “rest/cheat days”, netflix binging, and come monday i’d feel even more exhausted then i was on friday.
In theory it sounds a lot easier to achieve than it actually is. Sometimes we can know things but actually putting it into practice doesn’t happen overnight... and that’s NORMAL.
Don’t get frustrated if you take a few steps forward but then a few back. You’re still moving in the right direction. 😘🙏🏻

It reminded me what life was like when cell phones were only used for calls/texts and there wasn’t much reason to check it every 3 minutes for incoming mail, right when you woke up, or as a tool to pass time on a road trip.
The experience honestly heightened all my senses throughout the weekend and it felt like all the filing drawers in my mind were temporarily closed🙂🙌🏻
We’re back open for business this A.M but feeling like i’m much more realigned with the goal of being intentional with my phone use this week🙏🏻 Throw this one in your self care toolbox if you haven’t given it a go.... i think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much good feels it’ll bring you 💛

Woke up this morning, looked at my calendar,and immediately felt overwhelm. The day was so crazy with back to back meetings and calls that I actually did an unintentional intermittent fast until 4pm. Perfect world= meal prep. Other days, you just gotta roll with it. My mind went to “ugh ... Woke up this morning, looked at my calendar,and immediately felt overwhelm.
The day was so crazy with back to back meetings and calls that I actually did an unintentional intermittent fast until 4pm🙈.

My mind went to “ugh I have so much to do today.” But I quickly checked myself and changed that self talk.
I don’t have to do all of it, I GET to.
There are parts i’ve built up over the years that are about being gentle, compassionate, and soft with myself. But there is also a huge part of me that honors discipline and a low tolerance for complaining or playing victim.
I just don’t want to be the person constantly saying “i’m tired”, “i have so much work”, “i’m worn out”.
I want to operate throughout the day at a higher frequency with that to feel good mentally, physically, and emotionally.
So the way I talk to myself is: Okay Lauren, you don’t like how you’re feeling, do something about it.
And more often than not, 90% of that shift comes from the mind, 10% is a tangible change.

I’ve purposely tried to lose weight 2 specific times in my life. The first time was in college, the second was the last few months. The reason it’s taken me so long to speak about weight loss is because I don’t want to trigger anybody to think that you need to lose weight to be happy. In the first ... I’ve purposely tried to lose weight 2 specific times in my life. The first time was in college, the second was the last few months.
The reason it’s taken me so long to speak about weight loss is because I don’t want to trigger anybody to think that you need to lose weight to be happy.
In the first semester of college I reached my highest weight and freaked out when I saw that number on the scale. At the time I felt super insecure, wasn’t sure of who I was, and instead of facing those feelings head on I decided to put all my energy into weight loss because it’s something i could control and seeing a lower number on the scale would validate me / make me happy(so i thought).
I lost 5 lbs, then 10, then 15, then 20. Really fast, maybe 5ish months. In a super extreme and unhealthy way.
As a result I lost my period... for not a few months, or even a few years, but FOUR years. That’s 48 months of my body not trusting me enough to function properly.

Today I can confidently say I got the self love under control ...AND, since January i’ve been actively working on lowering my body fat %. ✋🏻*making it known this does not have to be a contradictory statement*.
For me, 2017 was about focusing less on intense exercise, + focused more on yin yoga, connecting with myself + nature, working on my relationship with food + going deeply inwards. I probably gained about 10-12 pounds, but to be completely honest, I did not care. I knew it didn’t make me less worthy, and the tending to my mind and soul was what was needed at the time.
Coming into this year I really wanted to get back to the body i felt comfortable in, wanted to make it easier to have steadier blood sugars, and to fit back into a pair of my favorite jeans.
I’ve been in an exercise routine, being mindful of what i’m putting in my body, but have not stepped on the scale.
Because if the end goal is to just get my body back to feeling good, why do I need an outside number guiding me?
In my personal opinion, I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting to lose weight AS LONG AS your mind is in a non-attached, good place.
Both times in my life it was about weight loss, but the (cont’d 👇🏻)

good morning world!!!! wow. if i could sum up yesterday in one word it would be:restore. I flew to San Diego a day early before the @tcoyd conference started and made no plans. I just set out to have a ME day. After I checked into the hotel I got a table for 1 at Cafe Gratitude, ordered vegan ... good morning world!!!!

I flew to San Diego a day early before the @tcoyd conference started and made no plans.
I just set out to have a ME day.
After I checked into the hotel I got a table for 1 at Cafe Gratitude, ordered vegan nachos and a caesar tempeh salad(swipe right for the food porn), + read a book📖. I challenged myself to not go on my phone, and engage instead with my food, thoughts, and waitress.
After that I was walking aimlessly , saw some ferry’s at the port and decided to get on one.
Ended up at Cornado beach where I people watched and walked on the water bare foot for a bit.
The night ended with a mexican mule + dinner for 1 at a local restaurant with live music.
On a thursday i’d usually be working so i felt a bit like i was playing hooky.
And my conclusion is that we should all play a little more hooky.
Because adventure and spontaneity is good for the soul.
And you’ll remember forever that day you spent by yourself, for yourself.🌱🌻 #mindbodysoul

-1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

It took me 2 months after my hospital incident to get back into a yoga class. I just went to the third one this morning. I’ve been practicing yoga since I was a freshman in college + since then this is the longest i’ve went without stepping foot on my mat. Sure I could say i’ve been busy this summer ... It took me 2 months after my hospital incident to get back into a yoga class.

I’ve been practicing yoga since I was a freshman in college + since then this is the longest i’ve went without stepping foot on my mat.
Sure I could say i’ve been busy this summer launching my book or moving into our new apartment, but in the past i’ve always prioritized my practice so i know that’s not it.
I think what it is is that i’ve gotten so much better at practicing yoga off the mat.
I don’t depend on my physical practice as much as I used to to keep me balanced.
It used to be that if i didn’t practice 3x a week i’d feel disconnected from my body + make choices that didn’t serve me, or i’d get into a head space that i wasn’t enough, or i’d let people or things that frustrated me ruin my whole day.
Mindfulness.
Reflection.
Focused breathing.
Meditation.
“Ahimsa”(no harm to myself + others). “Aparigraha”(letting go).
I’ve trained these practices over the years so they’re more easily accessible in my every day life apart from the 60 minute studio experience.
Truth is i don’t go to yoga to workout.
I look at it as a time to work IN +to become the best version of myself internally.
Getting back into classes now feels good for moving stagnant energy throughout the body.
But it’s good to know that who i’ve worked to become isn’t completely derailed without the physical.

I find it absolutely fascinating that for 3/4th of my life I had no understanding of how our bodies as women have different needs exercise, food, and stimulation wise at different times of the month to support our hormone health. I find it absolutely fascinating that for 3/4th of my life I had no understanding of how our bodies as women have different needs exercise, food, and stimulation wise at different times of the month to support our hormone health. And as a result if our hormones are not balanced, they show up as symptoms like irritability, skin break outs, irregular periods, cramps, cravings, lethargy, stomach aches or headaches. Around my period growing up I would just think everyone had these PMS symptoms so it was normal and there was nothing to do to change it. But lo and behold, becoming curious about the why behind my body came in CLUTCH.
Sugar cravings are always something I get around my period. I remember being a freshman in college one time downing a pack of m + m's in my room and then proceeding to eat half a pint of brownie ice-cream. And no it wasn't vegan, dairy free, or gluten free (lol!) Then one day a few years ago I read an article talking about how a women's need for magnesium increases dramatically between ovulation and menstruation and so naturally the body looks to replenish its stores by craving foods high in magnesium ( aka CHOCOLATE). I am such a nerd but i just love this stuff. I still get cravings but they're dramatically decreased since starting to take a magnesium supplement. 1. Seeing so many #t1d warriors posting pictures unwrapping + starting to use their @diabetichealthjournal 📓. I can’t even express how much of a smile it puts on my face.
2. Not reading. Letting go of the pressure I put on myself to find time and instead listening to books on Audible. Since using the app i’m averaging 1 book a week rather than 1 book every 2 months which is insane. I’m all about not changing your goals, but changing your method.
3. Pilates + slower/smaller movements. Adding this in especially during the weeks my energy is a bit lower.
4. Foods: black truffle salt on eggs/roasted veg + OWYN coffee flavor protein drinks + dried goldenberries (separate not together 😉)
5. Ending my A.M shower with 1 minute of freezing cold water. So many benefits but i most do it for increased alertness so i’m ready to tackle the day👊🏻
6.Smelling Lemon oil in the morning for a mood lifter + lavender in the evening for relaxation🍋🌙

Okay let me tell you a story about how this all came to be. & by “be” i mean standing in 98 degree heat yesterday on 2 wooden pallets filled with 1500 books that I wrote😮. I was in Miami 2 years ago w/ one of best friends ( hi @ancucci ).We were visiting my sister at college,laying by the pool, + naturally ... Okay let me tell you a story about how this all came to be. & by “be” i mean standing in 98 degree heat yesterday on 2 wooden pallets filled with 1500 books that I wrote😮.
I was in Miami 2 years ago w/ one of best friends ( hi @ancucci 😘).We were visiting my sister at college,laying by the pool, + naturally I had a notebook + pen in my bag.
Because my mind is more often than not in a state of creation(which i blame Shark Tank for), i started telling alison about this idea that i had. It was for a book that consisted of the blood sugar logs + reflection sheets I used + gave my clients from week to week as a tool to improve their diabetes management, but really emphasized my 360 degree approach of mind, body, + soul.
Before she could ask what would be in it, i drew up a mock version.
Months went by and I didn’t do anything with it.
Then in June I ran into @emilyannepage who I met at a trade show serendipitously years back. She asked what I was up to + i told her about this idea that i had.
Without taking a breath she reminded me that she was just starting out as a publisher + owned a company that did packaging and distribution of products + that she also had a designer who would be perfect for the job( @katreyesdesign 😘).
By October I pulled a Henry Thorou + went upstate NY in a wood cabin for a self proclaimed writers retreat, by december we launched the product on @kickstarter + surpassed our funding goal, from january till february my editor @em_plehal + I went through about 6-10 revisions of my drafts, March I sent it out to friends for feedback, by April we scheduled production and shipment (that took way longer than i’d ever imagined), in May we launched the website, and NOW WE -ARE -HERE!!
A lot of times someone lands a lead role in a movie or shares a milestone in their carreer and what we don’t see is the months and years of work put in leading up to that moment, the village of people it took to make happen, and the many mistakes and “no’s” from the universe that lead to the eventual “yes”.
Nothing happens over night.HONOR THE JOURNEY!

In the mean time, since i’ve gotten the sample copies a few weeks ago, i’ve been using #myDHJ and i.am.OBSESSED. I mean, I know i’m biased but you guys, it’s so amazing using it now as a consumer. To be honest, some days i forget that i actually wrote it😅.
It’s been the best tool to use to hold me accountable to all my health related goals each week/day, has allowed me to track all of my blood sugars in conjunction with my day to day activities, and really helps me slow down to be more contemplative, conscious, and intentional with the choices that contribute to my blood sugars throughout the day.
Like yesterday for instance, my food choices weren’t the best, energy was so low, and felt like i was chasing my sugars all day. It also happened to be the only day in the past week that i haven’t used #myDHJ 🙈Today I got back to it with an intentional morning and have been kicking ass all day. The difference in how i feel is just SO evident.

Funny story. When they first reached out to interview me via email, I thought the q+a would be featured on their website. I had NO idea it was for their magazine.
I grew up in the waiting room of the doctors office flipping through diabetes magazines/pamphlets not being able to relate to any of the content or people on the pages. They were either so saturated with pharmaceutical ads or depicting older people(generally type 2 diabetics) sharing their stories.
I couldn’t see myself in any of it.
In hindsight it might actually have contributed to why I felt so different and inclined to hide my #t1d especially in my teenage years.
I’m just so honored to be part of this issue and movement to show real and relatable content for the community.

We chose mostly glass over plastic where we could, bought a lot of air purifying plants, recycle, and decided to get a natural green mattress!

Without diabetes i’d like to think my life would undoubtedly be easier. But not one person in the world has an easy life. We all have something and those are here to teach us our lessons and frame us into the people we are destine to be for this world.
Living with #typeonediabetes is no walk in the park but i have my eye sight, and my legs, and my speech, i job a absolutely love, wonderful family and friends, and a pretty damn good chance i’ll love a long healthy life as long as i take care of myself. So, i’ll take that. And be grateful that it’s made me into the strong, independent, and determined person i am today because of it.
I wouldn’t leave up to chance trading my t1d for something else because who knows where or who i’d be.

I know this sounds crazy, but if I don’t drink my water in the morning, my whole day is thrown off. Sugar cravings out of control, i’m more lethargic, and my concentration drops like a hot potato. Some people can do the same workouts over and over again but for me I need variety and I need to be challenged!
I’m entering week 3 of my #12weekclimb and what i love is that i’m getting results not by doing anything extreme like i would have thought i needed to do a few years back. I’m working out 5/7 days(v manageable), only doing 60 minutes of cardio TOTAL for the entire week, and most importantly i’m being strategic about pulling from all types of fitness(circuit training, weights, plyo metrics, running, pilates/barre, + yoga) to vary targeted muscle groups, intensity levels and heart rate!
Loving this process and the climb back.

I can successfully say that since starting my #12weekclimb last monday I have been killing my intermittent fasts. I‘ve been doing them on tuesday and thursday’s + wanted to share why/what i do for anyone interested.

•I stop eating by 8pm + don’t eat the next day until 12pm(16 hour fast)
•I fast 2x/week.
•In my personal + professional experience I find IF for men works like magic for fat loss and they can do it multiple times a week. For women, if you’re doing it too long or too often it can actually backfire and your body will hold onto fat instead of releasing it.
•IF benefits include increasing insulin sensitivity, mental clarity, energy, life span, + reduces inflammation(I can only attest to the first 3😜)
•Up until 12pm I drink 2-3 liters of water with lemon
•I will drink coffee if I crave it
•on IF days I don’t do any intense exercise until 11am or that evening so that I can have a post workout meal right after
• to break the fast I always have food prepared so that I don’t go crazy and eat the entire fridge🤫

This is pretty standard for me 4-5 days a week when i’m not fasting. I don’t count calories but what works for me is eating low glycemic + being mindful of getting vegetables + food from all three macronutrients (carbs,fat, protein) at each meal and varying the dominant macro based on time of day (ex. i eat most of my carbs around my workouts).
*About a year ago I started getting migraines, rashes and stomach issues from dairy and wheat(not gluten*), so i stay away from those except for the occasional pizza because i’m a new yorker, i’m italian, and well you can do the math😜.

✖️Wake up: 24oz lemon water + 10 carb green juice
✖️Breakfast: 2 eggs with mushrooms + spinach + avocado with either black beans or GF toast OR blueberry smoothie with coconut milk, spirulina, spinach, chia seeds, rice protein + @vibranthealth green powder.
✖️Lunch: BIG SALAD. always. If i don’t get volume here i’ll be ravenous by 4-5pm. Usually mixed greens, olives, avocado, roasted red peppers, kimchi, broccoli slaw, tempeh/shrimp/fish with apple cigar vinegar and balsamic or olive oil. Sometimes chickpeas or quinoa. Lowest carb, highest fat meal of the day.
✖️Snack: 2 cucumbers with salt, an apple, or Rev Glo/ Rx bar
✖️Dinner: GF/DF amy’s burrito or some bean dish with romaine salad with shrimp + @primalkitchenfoods cesar dressing. This changes up a lot but i usually aim for portions like 2 hands= vegetables, 1 hand= protein, 1 cupped palm= carb, 1/4 hand= fat.
✖️Snack: usually need something sweet so i have some kombucha or lately been loving up on cherries🍒

Also for transparency, I had a doughnut yesterday. And I eat cupcakes. And spicy hot Garden of Eatin blue corn chips i’m in love with. And probably eat way too much dried mango. But I really believe that it’s what you do the majority of the time that matters. And that “all or nothing” mentality is what kills ya in the long run and takes away precious mind/thought space from living in the moment to obsessing over what’s on your plate. So take this post with a grain of salt + figure out what works for YOU!

What the plan IS:
•use the @diabetichealthjournal for blood sugar, food, and mind/body reflection accountability.
•keep insulin below 30units/ day *EDIT- THIS IS FOR ME PERSONALLY! (insulin= fat storing hormone) through increasing insulin sensitivity.
•workout 5 days a week at differing intensity levels to avoid burn out.
•8 hours of sleep.
•2 intermittent fasts/week
•strategically moving my body for energy, exploration, endorphins + empowerment!

What it’s NOT:
•stepping on a scale.
•calorie restriction.
•”on” during week days/ “cheat” days on weekend.
•zero processed food/ added sugars.
•isolating/ no social fun/only eating at home.
•holding off on self love until i look like...xyz.

PART 1: Here’s to day 1 of my 12 week C L I M B🏻! I’m officially three weeks out of the hospital from my kidney infection + cleared to start working out again! I created a workout program for myself + i am using the photo on the right as my starting body check in. It’s so interesting to see these 2 photos ... PART 1: Here’s to day 1 of my 12 week C L I M B💪🏻! I’m officially three weeks out of the hospital from my kidney infection + cleared to start working out again! I created a workout program for myself + i am using the photo on the right as my starting body check in.
It’s so interesting to see these 2 photos side by side though. Last year I was also in the hospital for an infection(less severe) and a few weeks after was the heaviest i’ve ever been(L photo).
I was devastated + so upset with what I saw in the mirror BUT in a few months I got back to my body that made me feel confident and strong and i really understood that our bodies are going to change 100x in our lifetime. And everything is always temporary.
And where we are isn’t where we’re always going to stay.
And it’s our decisions that can shape the outcome.
So today I start with a lot less muscle, flexibility, and endurance, but I can smile. Because I know i’m going to be changing this over the next 3 months. Because if you give me a mountain, you better be sure i’m going to climb it.

I tried out @studiomednewyork because it’s a 24/7 doctors office that actually integrates this into their practice! It’s run by physicians and instead of using premade bags (which many places do), a physician speaks with you before hand to specifically tailor the combo of vitamins/minerals to your needs which I LOVED. The doctor I spoke with was a neurosurgeon and really took the time to know my lifestyle and medical history with diabetes. If you try this out I definitely recommend going to a reputable practice because I feel like there are so many “knock off” places which is....not cool. not cool!

One thing i find helpful to do when this strikes is to look at it as an opportunity for growth and stay curious about it rather than judge it. So instead of just sitting in a place of feeling sorry for myself and going further down the rabbit hole supporting the thoughts that i’m not worthy, i interrupt the pattern. I merely use it to gain insight.

Deepening our awareness is the first step to change.

If you’re not getting the results you want, look beyond the workouts. Look at your ENTIRE being. I haven’t worked out in 3 weeks and i’m the leanest i’ve been in a while. My belly bloat is gone, my jeans are big on me, and my body just feels less “heavy”/ inflamed. Since getting out of the hospital ... I haven’t worked out in 3 weeks and i’m the leanest i’ve been in a while. My belly bloat is gone, my jeans are big on me, and my body just feels less “heavy”/ inflamed.
Since getting out of the hospital i’ve been sleeping so much, my morning stress is lower because i’m not rushing for the gym to get my day started, i’ve been enjoying walks for movement instead of 6 days of high intensity workouts a week, and i’m eating different every day depending on when i’m hungry. No set carbs, calories or anything like that. Just intuitive.
So many of us, myself included, immediately turn to “more exercise”, equating it with weight loss or toning up, but that’s not always the answer.
Now more than ever I believe that our bodies need different things at different times(women especially) and sometimes less is more. Just like in nature, seasons are where it’s at!
This isn’t a sweeping suggestion for everyone and isn’t to say we all need to workout less, but just my experience and observations while my body has been recovering post-hospital.🙏🏻

1️⃣My name is Lauren and I am a 20-something NYer who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune disease, when I was 7 years old. My pancreas may not work but it’s made me super in touch with my body + who I am today. For that, I am grateful.

2️⃣ Career wise I am an entrepreneur who chose following my passion for mind-body health over law school. As an online Diabetic Health Coach I am overly obsessed with helping empower others with Type 1 Diabetes to take control of their health using mindful reflection + lifestyle habit shifts to bridge the gap between where they are + where they want to be. On this page there are only sprinkles of diabetes because my life is SO much more than that! But don’t worry my #t1d fam, i gotchu. 3️⃣ Some random facts about me + what brings me the most happiness!👉🏻 i’m an athlete, yogi, + kombucha lover. Small talk kills me🤦🏼‍♀️Walking the aisles of whole foods totally destresses me. I need 8 hours of sleep to function..+ I LOVE my sleep🙏🏻 Hiking + nature is how I recharge. I‘m an early bird. Live music is my favorite. When I get hyper my friends say “Lo’s in a mood” + it usually follows with me breaking out into broadway tunes 😁💃🏻.

4️⃣Biggest life update recently is that me + @krisglav ,my high school sweet tart, just moved into a new apartment together!💏To sum up our relationship- the only yoga Kris does is savasana.. in our bed...at night (😴), BUT we both share a love for hot sauce and he lets me sneak spinach into his morning smoothies so we’ve got those things going for us!😉.

So grateful to have led a yoga class this morning with @lululemonnyc for international yoga day 💛 I just gotta say, 4 days post hospital life and i still might not fully understand WHY I ended up in the hospital or what lesson I am supposed to be learning, but i’m becoming more forgiving towards the situation.
I woke up early this morning to prepare for class, around 5:30, and grabbed an old yoga book- one I read 4 years ago during my yoga teacher training. It’s called “Living your Yoga”. I flipped to a random page and a quote caught my eye: “Belief is the preconception about the way reality should be; faith is the willingness to experience reality as it is, including the acceptance of the unknown.”
It hit me like a ton of bricks. Because wow, duh. I already knew this. But in that moment it became so clear. I came home and was reunited with an idea I know i’ve known all along: maybe we don’t get to know all the answers. maybe we just have to accept, trust, and let go of control.
It’s been really hard not having the answers I want or the guarantee that nothing else will pile up on me health wise in the coming weeks/months/years, but today i was reminded that this is part of life. And in one way or another we’re all going to experience it.
it might have taken me a few days to see, but the message come today loud and clear.
I accept what is. I choose faith 🙏🏻 #livingmyyoga #summersolstice

I’m so happy to share that yesterday afternoon I was discharged from the hospital🏻 Tuesday night I was admitted + diagnosed with sepsis/ a blood infection that spread to my left kidney and this past week has been one heck of a battle. In the past,any injury/ set back that has come up has never ... I’m so happy to share that yesterday afternoon I was discharged from the hospital🙏🏻
Tuesday night I was admitted + diagnosed with sepsis/ a blood infection that spread to my left kidney and this past week has been one heck of a battle.
In the past,any injury/ set back that has come up has never mentally brought me down. I am always optimistic and can easily find the lesson or reason behind why it happened and bounce back quick.
But this time it feels different. I have to admit I’m having a bit of a tough time.
I’ve dug deep trying to find the root feeling + cause and I think it comes down to anger.
I feel betrayed by whoever makes the rules.
Like shouldn’t we all just get one big challenge in our life? Shouldn’t type 1 diabetes be my thing? And i’ve filled that quota? How do i end up in the hospital with doctors saying over and over “I don’t think you know how serious it is...people die from this”.
I’m angry because the antibiotics i’m on are so strong they make you prone to tendon rupture so for the next 2-4 weeks I can’t do anything strenuous and my energy will take a while to come back as well.
And i’m angry because it took me 6 months to build up my gut health after being on antibiotics last spring and i’ll have to start from scratch again.
I’m trying to process this all and want to use this platform to share my story, my journey, and my life, even if at the moment I don’t have all the answers of inspiration to share.
Thank you all for being so supportive and caring since sharing the news earlier this week. I can’t tell you how much it meant.
For now i’m going to focus on the positives, rest, and trusting that there is some hidden reason beneath it all.🙏🏻

One minute i’m smiling, the other i feel like i’m dying, but all that matters is that the doctors finally figured out what’s wrong with me 🙌🏻 from sunday afternoon-tuesday i had a 104 fever that wouldn’t break, uncontrollable shivering, nausea, dizziness, and a sharp knife pain in my bottom left rib. after a whole day on tuesday running tests and trying to figure out what was wrong, it wasn’t until i went to the E.R around 11pm that they took a cat scan and received back blood test results from earlier. All the results showed that I had a bacterial infection in my blood that spread and infected my left kidney pretty badly from Ecoli.
Now here’s the most frustrating part, the doctor said i definitely should have a symptom of enormous back pain and whole left side body aches because that’s one of the first signs of something like this. In that moment it clicked. Since me and kris moved into our apartment i’ve been complaining of my back and body killing me but i thought it was because we were sleeping on a crappy mattress until our real one arrived. Well.... noppppe! Totally messed that cue up🙈
I can barely sit up, turn, walk, or breathe in deep, but i’m just so freaking grateful for doctors and medicine. There’s areas of the practice i’ve put down for so long because of a lack of holistic and preventative approach, but damn I have a good team that saved my life. Doing my work and drinking green juice, taking probiotics, and staying on top of my blood sugars because gosh when your body is sick, they go WILD. I feel so surrounded my love and i swear it will make all the difference in recovering from this!💛🙏🏻
