but it is the way of foolishness.
help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand.
and make the ordinary come alive for them.
the extraordinary will take care of itself.”

(to paris!)” the latter part is an add on to prompt playing some jazzy tunes whilst sipping the occasional rosé while i clean and tidy, but for real, IT WORKS. just imagine you’re moving tomorrow, what all would you actually need or want to take along? odds are, it wouldn’t be much. we hold onto so many things because of what we attach to said items, whether it be guilt, buyers remorse, or something along the lines of, “i’ll use that at some point!” but really, we don’t need excess to live exceptional lives. today’s motto, “pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.” - leonard koren ✨ hope this gives you the kick in the pants you needed to simplify at home this week! and don’t forget to donate what you no longer need or want, someone could use that old wool sweater or extra pair of nesting bowls! 🌿
