Stew says that his Mon-Fri schedule consists of waking promptly at 5:30 and he starts his day with a piece of fruit and a glass of water.
He quickly heads out the door to meet trainees at a local park to help prepare them for LEO or military training. This group is known as "The Heroes of Tomorrow" fitness group. Believe it or not, this is a free program that Stew provides to those who want to serve.
They begin working out at around 6:00am and Stew says that he does keep this training specific to the work these young people will be doing, but he also cycles through different elements of fitness throughout the year. He says this aids him in avoiding focusing on just one aspect of training/physical development.
These workouts take an hour in the weight room in the winter or outside running and doing calisthenics in the summer, he says. They always include swimming at the end of their training.
At 8:00am Stew starts writing. He says that his workouts tend to fuel his passion to write so he likes to get started immediately after working out. He says that 8:00am is also the first time he checks in to answer emails, etc. He does check his phone right away in the AM, but strictly to see if there is anything extremely pressing that he HAS to respond to immediately.
We don’t know a whole lot about the rest of Stew’s day, but he does say that he tends to get to bed between ten and eleven at night, and says he prepares for the next day by getting some stretch work in so he’s as limber as possible right off the bat.
When asked if he mediates, Stew responded that sleep is his #meditation.

At the age of 19 Greb made his pro debut and would go on to build a legacy of an insatiable pace, both in the ring and in pursuit of that next bout. Though his career would only span thirteen years, he would amass a total of 298 bouts.
His footwork impeccable and his fists coming in with a swarming frenzy, Greb was no easy opponent. Greb was not exactly known as a clean fighter either 😏 He was known to employ the heels and laces of his gloves as offensive weapons to damage his opponents. The man was tough as nails though. There is no taking that away from him. Of his nearly 300 bouts he only ever lost by KO two times. Greg has been ranked as the  #2 pound-for-pound fighter of all-time.
Back to his career, Greb would fight 37 times in 1917. This would set a boxing record and his win column (both officially and unofficially) would come out to 34 of those 37 bouts.
By 1921 Greb had easily cemented himself as one of the greatest boxers of all time, and was mowing through the competition. He would suffer a horrific setback this year, in a bout with Kid Norfolk (William Ward) as he took a thumb to his right eye. The doctors said he came away from that fight with a torn retina and partially blinded. Greg would win that bout and power through many more even though his vision continued to get worse and worse. Somehow, Greb managed to keep his loss of vision under wraps. Some accounts state that in order to fool the pre-fight physicians he would memorize the letters on eye exam chart in order to pass the necessary tests!
Even after all of this, Greb would go on to win his first title in May of 1922 over Gene Tunney, whom he would decimate in a 15 round massacre.
Greb’s career would be beyond a storied one, but would end in a loss in 1926 to Tiger Flowers. This loss was so contested that Greb’s fans actually stormed the ring at MSG in protest. Of this fight Greb is quoted as saying, “Well that was one fight I won if I ever won any.”.

If your opponent doesn't go down, let's BBQ their leg with an inside leg kick, then immediately following up with a chopping outside leg kick. Simple but effective high-low combo today. I obviously filmed this one before the gym was filled with gear & boxes, but we still have a few more of those LIMITED leather lace-ups available -- once they sell out, they'll be gone forever!😱

This woman has been helping people improve their lives and motivating us all to be better versions for a minute.
Jillian says she relies on the kids to get her out of bed in the AM, and they tend to do so promptly at around 6:00am.
Once she wakes she first feeds her hordes of animals (from pigs to ducks). Next she feeds herself and her children.
Jillian says she generally consumes her breakfast within thirty minutes of waking up.
She says she is not committed to a morning workout routine. "I squeeze in my workouts whenever I can. I think it’s so important to have portable, quick, and easy fitness solutions.”, Jillian says. I like the way she thinks!
She also says she checks her phone first thing in the morning. She feels an incredible sense of responsibility as a business owner and says, "putting fires out early and quickly is a big component of success.”.
Jillian says the she goes to bed pretty late (around 11:00pm), but also uses that late night time to prepare for the next day.
She says she prefers to listen to a podcast or read a book to wind down before going to bed.

Tonight, two of the most popular YouTube stars will fight in an amateur boxing match, which is expected to be one of the largest online live stream events in history.
I was actually asked to fight on the undercard of this match, but after long consideration I decided against it. There were a few reasons for my decision, but mainly because it didn't align with my brand and personal values. Yes, I run one of the most popular 'fighting' YouTube channels with nearly 2 million subscribers, and I've competed in some of the most renowned USA Boxing amateur tournaments on the East and West Coast, so it makes sense why so many people expected me to fight on this card. And when asked to be a part of this event, they explained how much exposure I'd get with it being the "biggest event in internet history," alluding to how much money I could make through sponsorships and what not. However, it's for the same reasons I have no interest in competing in the UFC: I'm simply not interested in the extravagant promotion, the pushing, shoving, and yelling. I don't like boxing or any combat sport being portrayed in that manner. I am a passionate martial artist and dedicated coach, and my mission is to help "make people better". And as a martial artist, I find it most important to exercise self-control, discipline, and stoicism -- it's not just about 'fighting'; it's more than testing/proving your physical potential. And yeah, I considered using this YouTube boxing event as a stage to spread that message, but I'd much rather stay on track doing what I'm doing. Besides, there are thousands of fighters who are struggling to get by, and would kill for a chance to showcase their skills in a spotlight like this. Who am I to hog that spot? I hope you understand my reasons, and enjoy the fights if you choose to watch. Me? I'll be enjoying my last day in Singapore with my beautiful wife 😊 #ksivsloganpaul

At just thirteen years of age, Dany Bill began training #MuayThai. His first love was soccer, but the moment he caught a Thai boxing match on TV, his life would change forever. A native of Stains, France, Bill commenced his training at The Nemrod Boxing Gym (La Cité du Clos Saint Lazare) in the same city.
Within one year he had his first match and only one year later (yeah, you heard that right -- just ONE YEAR!) he became a champion at just fifteen years of age. Five years after that, Bill would find himself in Thailand, competing for a world title. He would ultimately defeat Den Muang Surina and become the first European to attain a world title in Thailand.
From the years of 1993 until 1999, Bill would remain a World Champ. Bill continues to train/coach, and has a seminar coming up Sept 1st at @boxingworks L.A.

This is the only footage of her training (you can see her cracking pads behind me), because she had to film lots of the training sessions for our recap video, and there was no one else to film her! In fact, she's usually the one behind the camera for all of the #fighttips videos. A bit of a thankless job, but she puts in SO much work and fighttips would not be what it is today without her. So please, comment below and tell @mariefazen how awesome she is 😍😍😍

What is a flicker jab exactly? It's a distraction; a whipping of the arm to get your opponent to blink or flinch. When throwing this punch, you can even leave your fingers loose within the glove, to maximize speed, since their is no heavy impact on the hand/head. Immediately follow up with a side kick (to the head, body, or legs), chamber and step back out of range. Now we throw the exact same flicker jab, and again we chamber our leg, but instead of striking down the center, reach your leg past the target, and rip your foot across their head with a hook kick. Hip & hamstring flexibility, along with balance are the keys to this kick. Any requests for next weeks combo?

Even if you haven’t heard of him, you've probably heard of his brand @Onnit.
I've personally yet to try any of his stuff, but at any rate, this man has been highly successful as an entrepreneur rockstar & motivational influencer.
Aubrey says he wakes around 8:30. His first waking moments are spent hydrating. He starts his day with ingesting 12 oz of spring water along with some himalayan salt & a bit of lemon.
Next, he goes for a swim. He says that the combination of the physical exertion from swimming laps and the natural sunlight is absolutely ideal. Aubrey says that if he’s not at home, or in close proximity to a pool in the AM he’ll find some way to get in some jiu-jitsu, push ups or some other type of physical exercise to get his day started.
Aubrey says that he wasn’t always this calculated when starting his day. He says that up until he started doing research for his book, his morning routine had a tendency to be a bit chaotic. So don’t despair, Underdogs 😉
He says that he will sometimes skip breakfast if he’s practicing intermittent fasting, but when he does have breakfast he’ll chow down on a smoothie, an avocado or some bacon and eggs with sautéed greens. Aubrey says to stay away from sugars early in the day as you’ll spike your blood sugar crash early on.
Aubrey says he prefers his heavier workout to take place in the afternoon. He says, "That is typically when you are going to be the strongest, and have the most effective workout.” Unlike many of those we’ve covered in this series, Aubrey says he checks his phone right away in the AM, but does not respond to any notifications. ”It’s more stressful for me not to check my phone than just to check it.”, he says.
This man is a bit of a night owl and says he doe his best work in the evening. He makes a regular practice of not retiring to bed until 1:30 in the AM.
What I take from Aubrey’s routine is that he has found what works best for him - not necessarily some cut and paste. 👍
If you're into sending positive energy, shoot some Aubrey's way today. He was recently in a pretty gnarly car wreck. 🙏

Before Saenchai's time, Samart Payakaroon was known as the best of Thai boxing's Golden Era (1980s and early '90s). At the young age of just seven years old, Samarat Payakaroon began training #MuayThai at the urging of his older brother. The world of Muay Thai would never be the same.
Regarded by many as the greatest Thai Boxer of all time, Payakaroon was up against several disadvantages when it came to competing in #martialarts. His relative lung size lent itself to less than exemplary cardio and he was noted as not being as “athletically gifted” as many other Muay Thai fighters. This would not deter Samart though, and I think we’d all benefit by not making excuses for ourselves. Payakaroon did posses a killer fight IQ, unparalleled coordination & balance, and the reflexes not unlike that of a hummingbird.
Samart would eventually try his hand in the boxing ring in 1982 and would go on to win a WBC title in 1986! Do you consider him to be the 🐐?

#RepostSave @canon_of_combat with @repostsaveapp ・・・ Every shot thrown has a minimum and maximum range it can be thrown. If we throw a shot targeted inside this minimum range it will be jammed, pushing us tall. If we throw a shot outside the max range we reach and fall losing our grounding. Recognizing the sweet spot of a shot and only throwing it in these ranges is important to landing with power. Here we see Julian Williams @jrockboxing use a beautiful shoulder bump to create the minimum space needed for a short right hand then follow it up with a right hand at max range with full extension.

She was the youngest woman on the team. Since then, she has seen massive success and been picked up by everyone from Nike to Chobani. Here are a few of her daily tips when it comes to exercise and a look inside her daily diet regimen:
Of course, her favorite way to get a workout in is on the field, practicing soccer, but she is aware that being a world class athlete takes more than just practicing the sport you’ll be playing on the field or the court.
She likes putting in an hour or so of circuit training in a day and says getting that full body workout in is vital. She says she is in the gym nearly every day of the week, but makes sure to take a day off once a week. She’s also a big fan of the #battleropes.
As far as her daily meal routine goes, she says she likes to start her day with a breakfast of either a fruit and yogurt smoothie, or just some yogurt with granola or fruit toppings around 8am.
For lunch she usually has a sandwich or a salad along with some sort of lean meat and some more fruit. She won’t eat until she’s finished her morning training though, and that’s around noon or one.
She didn’t have much to say about dinner, but she is a fan of crockpot meals (because she’s often on the go and needs something quick and easy), and likes to make her own hummus. 😁

‪If you’d ever had the pleasure of meeting Cleveland Williams you’d probably guess basketball (he was a lanky, muscular fella at 6’3”) before you’d guess boxing. But, known for his devastating power, Williams was rated by The Ring as one of the finest boxers to never win a title.‬
‪Williams stood and banged with some of the greats and held his own in the ring with the likes of Liston (broke his nose) and Ali. He took an L from Ali, but lasted three rounds against Ali in his prime in 1966.‬
‪After his loss to Ali, Williams decided to take a break and retired from the fight game that same year. Williams would return to the ring just two years later and KO his first three opponents, each before the bell would sound at end the first round. Eventually though, Williams would suffer a few KOs himself and decide to retire for good in 1972. Of his 78 pro wins 58 were KOs. Like I said, his punches were absolute sledgehammers 😳.‬
‪George Foreman famously stated that Williams was one of only three men to win his accolade of “one of the three hardest punchers” he had ever sparred or fought. Care to guess who the other 2 were?‬

Working off of our jab, we set up our high switch kick. I like to disguise my shuffle by doing it on my 2nd or 3rd jab. From here, instead of falling into the elbow, find your balance and reset. This way you opponent doesn't know what to expect, and you don't run into an elbow yourself. Then we drop it down to the body, with a sharp knee to the solar plexus/ribs. I left in some additional freestyle on the #heavybag, after demonstrating the combo. Give it a try and let me know what you think 🤘😄

He does mention that if he’s going to get up that early he’s got to make himself go to bed early. He and I are both fans of getting plenty of sleep. 😉😴 He says his first waking thought is thankfulness. He takes a deep breath and does some introspection by focusing in on being thankful. He says that gratitude is a driving force behind much of what he does.
Once his head is in the right place he begins to focus on his health. Being a world class athlete is still in his blood and I have a feeling that much of the motivation that fuels him to this day stems from that. He says that the first thing he ingests when he starts his day is water. “Water is energy and water is life”, Howes says. I tend to agree and chug 12-20oz when I wake up, too 💦
Now this might come off as a bit of a mundane or even a pointless task to bring up, but Howes says that the other thing he likes to check off is cleaning his teeth. Why is this worth mentioning? Because this is a task that so many of us find monotonous and annoying and once we’ve done it (though it may be small), completing this task brings with it a sense of accomplishment. Also, this helps you feel tidy and clean as you start your day.
Howes says that he makes it a priority to make his bed? What? Psssh! (as @EdBassmaster would say). Why even bother? I’m just gonna’ “unmake” it again tomorrow night, right?
Making your bed creates clean space in your room and can add clarity to your life. Cleanliness promotes clarity and a sense of control, which is an excellent way to start your day.
I do like how Howes surmises his morning routines and how quick and vital they can be to a successful day: "Drink water, you’re completing something for your health. Clean your teeth, you’re completing something for your health. Clean your space, you’re completing something for your health. Clean your teeth, you’re completing something for your health. Clean your space, you’re completing something for your life. Three powerful things right away.”. These three items seem so simplistic and even mundane, but I’m with Mr. Howes.

(Lawrence) Gene Fullmer began his pro career at just twenty years of age in 1951 and rose to the top of the game rather quickly. In just six years he would fight for and win the world middleweight championship in January of 1957.
By the way, he defeated none other than the legend that is Sugar Ray Robinson to attain this title. To be fair, Sugar Ray would regain his title later on that year.
But two years later The National Boxing Association no longer recognized Robinson as the middleweight champ and Fullmer would fight for the title once more in the fall of 1959 against Carmen Basilio.
Fullmer would win via TKO in the fourteenth round. Fullmer would ferociously defend his title against formidable opponents like Florentino Fernández, Benny “Kid” Paret and Ellsworth "Spider” Webb.
Fullmer would meet Sugar Ray twice more inside the ring. The third rematch would result in a draw (many say Sugar Ray was victorious, once again) and their final bout would take place in 1961 and Fullmer would win by unanimous decision.
Fullmer would retire with an incredible record of 55 wins (24 by KO), 6 losses, and 3 draws.

Initiate with a lead hook to the head, followed by a rear knee to the body.
When your foot steps back down after the knee, fire off a cross down the center.
Now from here you can reset back to your stance, or tilt your head off to the side and kick around your opponent's guard to land the head kick.
Take your time in between shots; make each movement count.
