Oh, Santa Fe. You surprised me in so many ways.
The New Mexican city is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo foothills so the mountains are always just a glance away. I loved the flavors of the food, the Pueblo-style architecture, the walkable neighborhoods and the art at every corner. A bonus: The Santa Fe National Forest is just minutes away from town, so it’s easy to slip away for an adventure. Here are a few of my favorite things (if you plan a trip here):
Dinner: @lafogatagrillsfnm (GUAC)
See: Canyon Rd. & Historic Santa Fe
Hike: Nambe Lake Trail
Fly: ABQ is a cheaper option and it’s only an hour drive from Santa Fe.
Whoa. Two national parks, a 4x4 vehicle, endless unbelievable views and the scariest “roads” and cliffs I’ve ever been on in my life!Definitely one of the most exhilarating days ever.
One of the last things my mom said to me was “Babydoll, you betta trust God and enjoy life!” She always told me that - and I promise I always will. I hope you do too. Do things that spark joy and laughter. Go new places with people you love. Try things outside your comfort zone that inspire creativity. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
Welcome to my new favorite place. Magical, worth the 600ft climb and appropriately named. 📍Dream Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park. Elevation: 9,905 ft
