Senior Spotlight: Track and Field’s Courtney Maurin 🏃‍♀️With the cancellation of the remainder of the spring and winter season, the seniors from those rosters will be highlighted each week and asked a series of questions. First up! Courtney Maurin: 1️⃣ Q: If you needed to turn to one teammate in a crisis situation, who would it be and why? A: Jill Leggiero, she knows how to calm me down and knows me best. 2️⃣ Q: If you needed a teammate to make you laugh, who would it be? A: Cabel McCandless, Jake Anweilier or James Forte. 3️⃣ Q: Would you rather go bowling, throw darts or shoot pool? A: Bowling. (I used to bowl competitively.) 4️⃣ Q: If you had to eat just one fruit the rest of your life, what would it be? A: Watermelon. 5️⃣ Q: What’s your favorite memory as a Cortland student? A: Everything has been amazing, but if I had to choose, my favorite memory has to have been the last three days here at Cortland when we found out we weren’t coming back. We shoved three months into three days, and we made the most of those days with great people and so many laughs. 6️⃣ Q: What is your major and why have you chosen it? A: Graphic design/digital media. I chose it because I love doing art and using my creativity since I was really young. 7️⃣ Q: When did you start competing in your specific sport? A: I started running when I was in the fourth grade. I used to compete in pumpkin runs and races held through the school. 8️⃣ Q: What are your thoughts about the shutdown of athletics throughout all divisions? A: It’s sad and unexpected, which isn’t fun. But stuff happens, and you have to deal with it the best you can. Things happen for a reason, so in the end, some good will come from all of this. We may not be competing, but we can still run. Wish I knew it was my last race ever, but I’m still thankful I got to run in the first place. 🏃‍♀️ Thank you for your time Courtney and you have a great mindset through all of this. #seniorspotlight #ncaa #ncaad3 #trackandfield #Q&A #cortland #grateful @sunycortland @cortland.xctf

#UnitedAsOne - as a department, a school, a community and a nation. There has been no time like the present when the Cortland motto of “One Team - One Family” - rings more true. Though seasons were cut short and not every goodbye was had, every athlete will always be part of the rich tradition and history here at Cortland. In a time like this, reach out to teammates, classmates, coaches and teachers. C-State has always had an astonishing network and we know that will continue in the days that follow @sunycortland @sunycortlandalumni #together #team #oneteamonefamily @ncaadiii @ncaa

Thank you to our student-athletes, coaches and staff for all of your efforts and know they were impactful even if they weren’t shown through competition. Thanks to @cortland.xctf for taking this photo to represent that #cortlandpride @sunycortland @ncaa
