I am delighted to report that today’s mail delivered treasure all the way from Scotland! @alicemelvin has created a beautiful Book of Swims, a visual diary that shares with viewers the paintings she created showing the sites of morning swims she’s taken during the challenging Coronavirus months. Do have a look at Alice’s IG site to see more fabulous paintings.
After the joy of walking in Central Park, I also wanted to show you a couple of samples of how some businesses are boarding up their windows. The second photo is a J Crew shop. As of now, the election results are unsettled. Coronavirus remains a powerful adversary that doesn’t give a hoot about politics.
This video begins with a sky view across the Sheep Meadow, that shows a very tall building that’s still incomplete. Construction was stopped a week ago after the crane next to this tall sliver became untethered during severe wind. The crane began spinning around, knock off parts of the building. Thank goodness no pedestrians were injured on the sidewalks below. Scary!
As we await more information regarding yesterday’s election, I wanted to update you on the roadwork on my street. These photos show what it looked like this morning when I headed out for a walk across Central Park. When I got home, all this was tidied up. Perhaps this particular mission has been accomplished.
I was inspired to make this colored pencil drawing by some buds and branches that I saw on a recent walk. I once again made use of the origami box folding diagram. When the drawing was almost done, I realized that I’d also been inspired by a Liberty lawn sachet that I’d made in the last century!
