DO YOU KNOW THERE’S A PODCAST THAT TALKS ABOUT DIFFERENT PARENTING STYLES AND PEDAGOGIES IN DEPTH FOR FREE? ❤️ . If there’s one thing my momma friends and I truly love talking about on Viber, it’s processing and processing and endless processing about things we learn, pedagogies we read, philosophies and ideas that get on our radar. 😅 So we decided to just make a podcast called @shakingparenting.podcast! In the first series, we have different guests who talk about each pedagogy explaining things like: what a typical day is for those who practice a certain pedagogy, how discipline looks like, how they teach literacy and numeracy, what is the role of an adult, etc. . Topics for now will be on the ff: Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Charlotte Mason, Classical, Forest School, Multiple Intelligence and Unschooling.⭐️ We ask the same questions so you can see for yourself how similar or different they are. Our goal is to help you shake and shake until you find your own groove! ⭐️ All for free on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google. . Have you listened to us? If you have, I would appreciate if you can leave a comment here on what you think, and maybe tag a friend who you know will appreciate it. The SPP team works really hard on this so we can contribute great content out there. 💓 . PS: We have an FB page, too, in case you are more on FB. Just search Shaking Parenting Podcast (and set it to your favorites) to let FB know you want to see our content first. . PPS: These are Taglish (Tagalog-English) convos. But if you’re in the mood to listen even if some parts soung gibberish to you, you are welcome.⭐️ . To those who tag us and give us feedback, maraming maraming salamat! You fill our buckets. 😭💓 .

It’s P’s cousin’s birthday today, and the parents’ request is that we have a “parade” for her by saying hello from our cars or bikes (we live very near) and waving to the birthday celebrant. How cute naman. The ideas we think of during this time din, amazing! . . We prepared a small gift last night. Here’s a quick DIY wrapper you can easily do with your little one. . What you need: . -paper (scratch paper, bond paper, brown paper, any paper haha) -stamp and stamp pad -tape (Japanese washi tape is my reco so child can cut with hands, or scissors + compostable) . Stamp as many times as you like. Take turns if that works better. Let the child cut and tape as you wrap. . PS: @bibsisita artwork always ftw! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Decided to open my IPOD (that needs to be charged, or it will conk out), and found one of my favorite songs, and realized: my “someday” has arrived in the form of two boys. . SOMEDAY IN MY LIFE . Here from the top of a mountain I see you there In the cool night air Someday in my life . Fear has no reason to doubt them They tell me so Yet they will never know You are here in my life . Wherever I go now I'll follow you And my heart will be true I have never known someone To stay right here Soon you will be right here Someday in my life . Here from the top of a mountain I see you there In the cool night air Someday in my life . Storms may rage on about them They hail and snow Yet they will never know You are here in my life . Wherever I go now I'll follow you And my heart will be true I have never known someone To stay right here Soon you will be right here Someday in my life . Can you go back to your old playlists and play them again for memories? Did the someday you imagined and/or prayed for come, too? 🙏🏻

Before pandemic: house is fixed, but was delaying all the upgrades cause... travel nalang! . This pandemic: no travel = we have money to upgrade. Though, I did sell my things to buy most of the upgrades we’ve done cause I’m thrifty like that. And syempre, we need to save more this season cause the future is just so uncertain. . I’m so sure hindi lang kami yung ganito! Napansin niyo naman siguro sa stories mga nabili ko.🤭 But aside from that, this pandemic really made me realize that the look of my house should be a look I love and delight in — this is probably how I survived 5 months of not going out. . And as for sleep — nothing beats sleeping in a bed you like, and also underrated often — the pillows you use. . Been using the pillows of @tempurph and the down alternative of @uratexpremium — both brands are worth the purchase. Ang sarap sarap sarap nila gamitin at tulugan. . Tempur - we have the memory foam style, I love that it shapes the way your head falls on the pillow. . Uratex - the down alternative is so so so soft! As in ang sarap lang mahulog sa kanya. 😅 . Don’t underestimate the power of sleep, guys. Invest in good sleep because lack of sleep = grumpy you (err, me). ✌🏼 Yan din yung one reason i’m surviving - cause I really sleep when possible — I just feel this helps me feel more balanced during my waking hours. . And while we’re at it, pair your pillows with good sheets— after years of experimenting, it’s bamboo or hotel quality cotton for me. ❤️ . What home upgrades (or more like, buying things you realized are essentials) have you done this pandemic? PS: Yes, stickers ni P yan on the wall. This is his room, so fine - work nya yan eh. 😍 #mtefinds

Hi guys! I’m happy to announce that I’m part of @wwfphilippines’ campaign this season (disclaimer: this is not a paid campaign, but wwf is one of the orgs I fully support). . In a few days, on August 28, at around 6pm, i’ll be uploading a video that talks about the ff: . * what WWF is * sample WWF projects + our intended beneficiary for this campaign * sustainable cooking (tips and practices) * plant based dish sample . Natuwa ako sa opportunity ko ito kahit di ako nagluluto much haha, but to be able to explain what an organization does for you, giving tips on something I believe in, plus trying out cooking while chatting with you — haha — lahat yan abangan as I chika with you on Aug 28. At bilang i’m such a lola in the tech world (buti andyan si @agratefulmomma turning me into tita nalang, not lola), I shall try to upload the 29-min video on this page (via IGTV). Kung ayaw, I’ll upload in rin on my MamaTheExplorerPH Facebook account. Okay? 😍 Hope to see you, and if you want to donate as early as now, here’s the link: www.bit.ly/paulawwf 💓 . PS: Hi @maye.padilla ❤️

Love love this insect-eating plant. Kakauwi palang namin, ang dami ng nakain. Kaso napakasosyal naman ng carnivorous plants, kailangan talaga eh distilled water. Haha. Any other tips for carnivorous plants? ❤️ . EDIT: For those asking, ito pala yung complete name nya: Byblis Guehoi (sorry I always forget the name kasi it’s really called by the scientific name😅)

Lately, my little one has been wanting to color within the lines — I didn’t teach him that, but maybe it’s a natural part of development. What I got curious more of — is his upside down drawings! He does a lot of upside down drawings — and i’m amazed at what I found out (though only from websites - feel free to share what you know, too)!: . “Our brain does not completely form the concept of left and right until somewhere between the ages 5 to 8. This means that almost all children will have persistent reversals when they first start writing & drawing. Actually, it is also an art technique that we called as observational in most of the art schools, especially for fine artists. When we turn an image upside, it looks unrecognizable & our visual system will create a shape allusion to help our brain make sense of what we are looking at. When images are turned upside down we see line, shape, tones and light much clearer & more vivid. And we are more focused on the simple forms our brain is recognizing rather than the complex visual perception in our memory. It also tries to make out shapes & negative space. As a result, when we turn drawings upside down often while working to check ourself & to see proportions easier.” . Anyone here whose child draws upside down, too? I’m honestly so entertained. 💓

So, I made a mini #jungalow outside. And I have it for my view from our dining, yey! . I made it because it is the closest we have to nature this season. I’m missing the real jungle. And the beach. And life outside. 😭 Do you have your own urban jungle, too?
