NYC winter has not been as bad as I expected, but I’m still missing the warmer weather 😅 I think long term I’ll probably move to somewhere warmer again, until then I’ll enjoy everything else this crazy city has to offer.
I always look forward to my weekly Saturday matches for @uschesswomen’s charity! I’m not sure I would have continued playing chess if I didn’t have similar support growing up and now it’s my turn to give back, even if it means occasionally losing 10 games to @qiyunemozhou 😅
“Alexandra Botez was sitting in her apartment on a recent Friday in front of three computer monitors, a webcam and a microphone — and losing at chess. … ‘Let's hope we can flag this guy,” she said, meaning that her opponent would run out of time. He did not, and she ended up checkmated.’ LOL, I may have been too honest in this interview. But truly I’m ecstatic that NBC brought some mainstream coverage to the online chess streaming world!
Streaming alone versus streaming with @andreeaceciliaa 😛 Swipe for a surprise. But on a serious note, I’m glad Andrea is now part of @botezlive! Slowly expanding the stream, let’s go 💪
Finally reunited with @annarudolf_chess again, this time in Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤️ Honestly, I never expected we would became such close friends. I always thought on-camera Anna was WAY too nice to be true. I was wrong, as Anna is genuinely one of the nicest people I know. Not only that, but Anna is the kind of friend you can have a blast with, while also pushing and motivating you to be better in all your pursuits. My close circle has always had a huge influence on me, and I’m feeling super grateful that Anna is one of those people 🥰
