UPDATE: WORKSHOP HAS BEEN MOVED FROM APRIL 4TH TO MAY 16TH BUT STAY POSTED AS THINGS COULD CHANGE. STAY HEALTHY Y’ALL. . . . Excited to bring my “Improv For Confidence Building” workshop to TORONTO on SATURDAY, MAY 16TH in an extended six-hour-long intensive class for beginners! . . Meet new people, gain confidence, and explore your creativity in a full day of facilitated by little old me! I will be using techniques I learned from studying and performing at the Montréal Improv Theatre and UCB New York, as well as teaching at Toronto's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, to guide you through gentle warmups and games practiced by both amateur and professional improv comedians and actors alike. Easy-to-learn theatre exercises that explore physicality, voice work, and character development, will encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and say... YES, AND! . . I am also pleased to share that I will be assisted by the wonderful actress/producer/coach @carolinemkpalmer in a warm and inviting small studio provided by @roamingfocus. . . Through the playfulness of this medium, the goal is to improve your listening and team-building skills, and (hopefully) discover that laughter really is the best medicine! *LINK IN BIO* . . Happy to be sporting @getrealmovement’s #notransphobia shirt in support of my trans friends. While I can’t speak for the trans community, I can use my platform to pass on simple advice from my trans siblings on how to be a better trans ally. For example: respect people’s pronouns! If you don’t know, just politely ask, and if you make a mistake, apologize, make a correction, and move on. A good way to avoid mistakes is also getting used to using gender neutral language like “folks” or “pals” instead of “ladies and gentleman” and add the singular use of “they/them” into your vocabulary. If a quick word shift can make someone feel safe and included, why not try it?! Also, please don’t ask people inappropriate questions about their genitalia or sex life. If you wouldn’t ask a cisgender person, don’t ask a trans person either. Easy, right? And LISTEN TO TRANS AND/OR NON-BINARY VOICES. I’m still learning how to do this, so if you wanna add tips and comments below, I am here to listen. 🖤 . . . 📷: @bectaggart

It’s funny how self perception can change from moment to moment. When I first received the photos from this shoot, all I could see was the dark circles under my eyes. My initial thought was: “Wow! I’m really starting to look old.” (As if that’s a bad thing?) And then, later that day, I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and was like: “Damn! I look GOOD for someone who’s been around for three decades”. . . . Why are we (especially womxn) so afraid of looking our age? Why is it a compliment when someone assumes we’re younger than we are? I’m turning 30 in a month and I’m trying to embrace my lines, to love my white hairs (even the rogue pube) and to accept my dark spots... both inside and out. . . . Not sure what the point of this caption is. Just took a melatonin (yay insomnia) and thought I’d share some late night musings as I prepare to leave my twenties and enter a new personal decade. When do you feel your most attractive? Whatever that means for you! . . . SHIRT: @getrealmovement PHOTO: @bectaggart

February is a really tough month for a lot of people in the Northern Hemisphere, especially folks who already suffer from depression and anxiety disorders. 🙋🏻‍♀️ One thing that’s been really helpful in getting me through the clouds over the past few weeks is getting back into doodling. What are some of your healthy coping mechanisms? (P.S. Turning this baddie into an enamel pin for my VANLIS x @butchandsissy collab soon!)

Thinking about all the neat shit I did over the past decade. Co-creating @clairevoyantsho with one of my favourite humans (@anniemorganb) is definitely in the top ten. From the wine infused night of conception, to the premiere date, it took over three years of (menstrual) blood, sweat, and tears to make this weird lil series about a couple-o-fake psychics and best buds a reality, so if you’re a new friend or follower and you haven’t watched it yet... it would be cool if you did. Okay thanks bye! 💫 . . . . Costumes: @darlingpink Makeup: @jessicapanetta_mua
