🚨NEW ANNOUNCEMENT🚨 We’ve launched our own YouTube channel! As many of you are aware, we’ve recently changed the company name to ‘chef judy lai’ founder of silkcakes with the focus on getting into the creative mind of the chef. With the YouTube channel, we can now share with you all our inventive Asian American desserts. Link is on our bio! Don’t forget to subscribe to get access to our latest videos.
As many of you have already heard, we recently made the difficult decision to close the shop permanently. It took us awhile to let everyone know...to be honest, we’ve been in a state of denial. It really hit us hard when we saw our freezer moved outside of our shop entrance. Silk Cakes was our baby. We took great care of our newborn -invested a lot of time, hard work and love into her and through the years, we’ve watched her grow. Although we are no longer open for retail, it is not the end but rather the beginning of a new chapter. We would like to thank all our loyal customers and supporters -you know who you are- without you, we would not exist. Thank you for believing in us and in our passion. Stay tune.....for future updates on our new ventures coming soon!
After much thought, we have decided to temporarily close starting tomorrow, Monday March 23rd prioritizing the safety of our employees. We are OPEN today, Sunday March 22nd till 7pm. Stay safe everyone. #SilkCakes
A BIG ‘thank you’ for all the love and support from our last post. All your comments and likes warmed our hearts. As many of you had asked, we are offering gift cards starting tomorrow, Wednesday March 18th. #SilkCakes
This past week, the affects of the virus hit us hard as we experienced more cancellations than ever. We came to the realization that it is now our turn to feel its impact. Instead of looking inward and addressing only our own concerns, we wanted to take a collective approach.
To all the small businesses, we understand this difficult time that you are going through - all the stresses of keeping the business afloat and all the worries of whether you are going to make it at the end of it all. Whatever difficult times that you are going through, know that we are there with you- supporting you every step of the way.
To all the Asians, in the US and abroad, the virus placed a stigma on us. Yes, it is unfair and yes, the racist attacks can be hurtful but instead of being overcome with hatred and anger, fill yourselves with compassion and forgiveness so the healing can begin.
To our customers, you are our lifeline. Your support keeps us going through this difficult time. We know you each have your own challenges as well and we want you to know that you are not alone. We hope that you and your family stay safe and healthy.
In times like this, we want you to remember the sweetness in life and know that we will get through this…together.
We will be remain open, keeping to our normal business hours.
